  1. That's how I saw it too. I think that anyone that doesn't put a plate up on time should automatically have to cook to stay in the competition. There is really no penalty for not putting up a dish. The judges still tasted it and if someone on that team cooked the best dish, they skate through to the next round. Honestly though, I'm having a hard time caring about this show. I'm not quite sure why I'm still watching.
  2. Yup. She was the runner up too. She looked so familiar to me when I started watching this that I looked her up. I can't remember how I felt about her on Master Chef though.
  3. I watched this last night and after it ended, I just kept saying "BUT SHE SOLD THE DINER!" I felt like that was a large gaping hole that was unresolved. Plus I always hate when the women on a lot of these movies give up their lives for love. So now that he loves her, she isn't going to Paris?
  4. I wanted her to give him at least one "I told you so" after all that. It wasn't like she said cannoli once. She said it multiple times and each time he was certain it wasn't.
  5. I threw all my votes to Casey because I figured she was in trouble. Oh well. I loved her duet with Chayce. I firmly believe Chayce will win this whole thing. AI voters love the WGWG.
  6. I started out the evening voting for my favorites (Casey and Grace) right off the bat because I was so tired that I knew I wouldn't make it through the whole show. By the time I went to bed, I threw votes to someone I hadn't voted for yet: Willie. He has a great voice but I've been a little bored with him. But his version of Yellow - WOW. That was a moment. I'm not the biggest Coldplay fan but I've loved Chris Martin after seeing a documentary on the band. He seems like a good dude. I loved him as a mentor, especially when he pushed Grace toward Fix You. That was a moment for her too. I agree though that he gave Hunter bad advice. It was too high for him and it was bad. I'm just glad both women survived because they were the only 2 left in a sea of unremarkable men. I have no idea who will win this thing. Probably Chayce or Caleb for all the reasons already mentioned.
  7. Same. But I figured there was no way the show was going to have this big twist only to have them eliminated right away. I wouldn't put it past them to have put him in even if he didn't have the numbers. I was an Arthur fan last season but he hasn't wowed me at all these past 2 performances - everything just sounds the same. I loved that Graham DeFranco was with Chayce's family/hometown watchers. That was cute. I'm over Chayce though and ready for him to go.
  8. I had to go look up who made the Top 20 last year (since I had completely forgotten about Jonny West). I loved Julia Gargano so glad to hear she got a record deal. A lot of these comeback kids made the Top 20 but were eliminated before the Top 10 week. Franklin, Olivia, Aliana, Faith, Nick, Cyniah, and DeWayne were all eliminated after the Top 20 performance show. Makayla was the judge's save. Looking at the Top 10 and taking out the winner and those with record deals, one has to wonder why Jonny, Jovin Webb, and Sophia Wackerman weren't part of this. Especially Jonny since , like was said above, he made it to the Top 5/Finale. Also Lauren Spencer Smith and Kimmy Gabriela made the Top 20 and weren't included this year.
  9. Count me in with those who think this "twist" is completely unfair to this year's contestants. This group had their chance last year. I'm sorry it didn't go as planned but those are the breaks. Really, if Olivia needs to be on a stage to be good, then she isn't that great. If you have talent, you can perform anywhere. I forgot how much I loved Louis though. I voted for him and Aliana because girl had a serious glow up since last year. Both in style AND confidence. I was super impressed. I had a hard time remembering most of these contestants til they performed. I still have no recollection of DeWayne but I also through him some votes because he was amazing. All that being said, I'll be surprised if anyone but Arthur or Makayla end up with that final spot. They seem to have a big fan base. My favorite part of the night was Luke actually being critical after Nick sang. So if this is a week long vote, does that mean this contestant doesn't go to Disney with the others? Way to make sure they don't bond with the other contestants at all.
  10. Ohhhhh! I would have loved to hear her do Blaze of Glory! I loved her Over The Rainbow though. For a second, I thought she might try to do the ukulele version since they were playing that under the Bobby Bones segment but I'm so glad she didn't. That belongs to Jason Castro to me. I was a Chayce fan until tonite. That Bryan Adams song displayed every weakness in his voice and now I'm firmly off his bandwagon. I couldn't believe Luke called him a frontrunner after that performance.
  11. I knew Orca was Mark McGrath from the first time he sang. It was almost as obvious to me as Bret Michaels/Banana. So I was thrilled that I was right. I rarely guess these. That said, if the Russian Dolls aren't Hanson, I'll be shocked. Those voices are pretty recognizable (and I"m not a big Hanson fan) so I"m surprised no one on the panel has guessed them. I have no idea who the others are. Seashell was great. But no clue who she is.
  12. My bf and I now call her Sideshow Bob. For a hair model, that hair was BAD. The outfits are all too pagenty for me as well. She doesn't have a bad voice - I think if she was a little more natural in her style instead of trying so hard, I might like her better. I was not happy the judges let her though. Not looking forward to the TWIST next week. Just let this year's group shine in their own way and leave the others in last season where they belong.
  13. The Idol Pad has posted the Top 16. I was super surprised to see Mary Jo on the eliminated list but the others were expected.
  14. He did it during his season on Idol. I remembered that because he called it a cover of a Jessica Simpson song which confused me and then I found out she had a hit with it in the US. I can't believe I forgot the whole "unison" thing in my post. Shades of Kellie Pickler, I guess. She went down a few points in my book after that - she's 19, she should know what "unison" means. Anamoly is my favorite Incubus song and I would have loved to see them sing that.
  15. Just wow. After Sunday's show, I was expecting so much more from last night's performances. Most were awful. This is why I hate when they split the Top 24 in half to decide who is going through. Someone who was good Sunday night will go home over someone who was unbelievably bad last night. I'm so used to Katy's odd get-ups that I was almost shocked at how beautiful she looked last night. I forgot how pretty she is. Still beautiful is Brandon Boyd. He has definitely aged well. I am not a Josh Groban fan. He's talented but it's not my thing. Robbie Williams lives in LA - they should have had him come on and sing it with Beane. But really, I don't like when anyone else sings it. Jessica Simpson? No. David Archuleta? No. Hollywood Week, I was a fan of both Chayce and Hannah. After last night, I'm off the Hannah train. Lord, that was bad. Chayce wasn't great either but I'm pretty sure he'll go through so I'll see how he does next week. He and Boyd didn't fit well. That duet was NOT good. Add me to those who were surprised at Liahona's choice of outfit. I have no problem with athleisure and being comfortable while you sing but you are performing on a national tv show. It would help if you didn't look like you rolled out of bed. I'd even take that t shirt with jeans over sweatpants. Or even a decent pair of joggers. I didn't get why Katy was giving her props for hair and makeup but didn't comment on the clothing. To be fair, I also thought Colin looked a mess too. Was never a Jewel fan but she sounded great last night. It's never good when the celebrity outshines the AI contestant but she did that to both of her duet partners. I'd rather keep more of Sunday night's contestants than keep 8 of this night's contestants.
  16. I heart Andre SO much. I was glad to see he has aged well. Apparently they were going to do this with Hawaii as well but Amaya tweeted about it and she thinks that may be why it was scrapped. I too would love to see one with Boston. One of my favorite RW seasons. I subscribed to CBS All Access/Paramount Plus last week with that 50 percent off offer you mentioned and they have 20 seasons of the RW available but NOT Boston. (Or New Orleans, another one I'd love to watch again and see a reunion of.) The Washington Post did a story in the Entertainment section while the Boston season was airing and it featured me and my roommates and our Real World watching dinner parties. Oh how I loved Jason.
  17. Are speeches at a bridal shower a Jersey thing? I've never heard of that and I thought it was ridiculous. My dislike for Bria grows with each episode. It's gotten to the point that I think I'm just hate watching because it just irks me that they are throwing all this money into a bridal shower/wedding after the father has died and money is tight. Yes, I get that Big Mike would have wanted all that but Big Mike also had their finances in order. Stop spending money on wedding stuff when you can't pay the bills at the salon.
  18. Am I the only one who thinks that Max's dream at the end is going to have them turn the tables on his relationship with Kat moving forward? Meaning that he will now be pining after her and she has moved on? I really disliked this show when it started but I dare say it's growing on me. I even liked the waving at the end on this ep.
  19. I'm so irritated by Bria. She needs to get her head out of her ass and actually listen to what her Mom is saying about not being able to afford what they had been planning. Plus why are they trying to hold an extravagant bridal shower during a pandemic anyway? Between COVID and the financial mess left after the death of Big Mike, I completely agree with Lexi that the wedding should be postponed. I do think that maybe Lexi and Mom should have talked beforehand and the postponement idea could have come from Mom. Bria won't entertain anything coming from Lexi about the wedding but MIGHT have given it some thought coming from Mom.
  20. I agree with everyone saying this was better than the first ep but something is still off for me. I love Mayim Bialik but not in this role. She is the weak link here. I'm not ready to quit watching yet because of the rest of the cast (minus Swoozie Kurtz who is just painful to look at) but I'm also going to check out the British show this was based on over the weekend to try and get a better understanding of what this is supposed to be, especially where that awkward waving bit at the end is concerned.
  21. I don't know why but I love this show. I found it by accident and I'm hooked. I originally thought it would only be about romantic ghosting but was glad to see it covered friendships as well. I was recently ghosted by someone I consider a close friend. I hadn't talked to her in a while and I went to message her and found out she blocked me on social media. I texted her to ask why she had blocked me but of course, never heard back. I was either blocked on her phone or she just didn't reply. Either way, I'm agreeing with those above who say it's immature. Just let me know why you don't want me in your life anymore. Either we can talk it out or it's done. But at least no one is wondering WTF is going on. (Mind you, I'd never go on tv to figure it out but it's a fun watch.)
  22. I just watched the Charlie Puth episode and, like many of you, it was also my favorite of the series so far. I loved Sam DeRosa's (the girl who went to Berklee w Charlie) song and went searching for some kind of an update on her/the song. I'm not sure why they didn't mention this at the end of the show but apparently Shane signed her to his record company as an artist - you can find the song Pill for This (and a few others of hers) on Spotify. Here's the article I found about her signing: https://musicrow.com/2019/09/monument-records-signs-pop-artist-sam-derosa/
  23. I was pretty meh on this show after the first episode but was pleasantly surprised when I really enjoyed last night's ep. When the artist is more involved in the process, it makes for better tv. will.i.am seemed so excited about it all and I loved when he rejected the one song because sometimes you just shouldn't give a song away. He thought that guy should keep his song for himself and instead wants to work with him on it. Seems like a genuine dude. I like Kelsea Ballerini so I'll tune in again next week to see if the show continues to get better.
  24. Ahhh. I didn't notice that. I was doing a few other things while watching so I assumed it was a one bedroom. She still deserves the massive eye roll I gave her when she said mommy and daddy paid her rent.
