  1. At some point Angela asks Darlene why she's doing something because she and Elliot weren't even that close. Maybe Darlene is involved with Fsociety to get close with her brother and she wasn't really aware of how bad off he was.
  2. I posted an interview with Effie in the media thread where she says she watched the epi and didn't know where the line came from. She thinks she could have said it but doesn't remember and at that time she obviously didn't know about the deleted scene where she says the line. She does chalk the title up to a mistake though.
  3. Effie responds to the Hot Ghetto Mess title and more
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_JwGHVo20E I've missed these deleted scenes so I went back to watch all of them. I don't think this was posted before, it's from the second epi but I'm going to post it here because it adds to the "mess" of this season. Effie says she will go to bat for Jason and Pete because they want to do a modified script - a "scriptment'. So she tells the guys she will call Len Amato and she will lead off with that suggestion and then they need to chime in and back her up when the time comes. Len pushes back on the suggestion; she whispers to them it's time for them to chime in and...crickets; they never say anything. Needless to say, she was annoyed that they didn't say anything at all to fight for their own idea and left her hanging.
  5. Yes it appears the blond guy figured out what was going on and erased the files first.
  6. You're right, I went back and looked and saw two. I understand her point in general but I would be mad if I were the limo driver if I lost my part whether I was paid for showing up or not.
  7. Yeah I was wondering if she died and I forgot about it. I hope this is the last season of the show. I too was disappointed to see that there was another Carrie off her meds scene. It's truly played out by now and I think the show has probably run its course.
  8. Caitlyn's interview with Ellen is very interesting because it essentially reveals that if she had been born female in the first place, she would have grown into a woman that was against marriage equality. This is a truly interesting thing to see. Considering she spent 60 plus years as a man in a hetero relationship, it's not surprising that she doesn't see herself as gay; but since it appears that she is still just interested in women, that's exactly what she is. I'm willing to cut her a little slack because this all still must be hard to reconcile but as it's been mentioned already, she has to understand the weight her words have and speak accordingly in public.
  9. Are you saying that both Karina and Cheryl were bad? Because I think I saw Karina every time she played and she was always really good. I'd love to have her on my team.
  10. I forgot to mention in my last post that I like the interpretation too. And with Tyrell at the table, that makes 12 people. I've never been the least bit religious or spent any time learning about religion but I do remembering hearing about the 12 Apostles. More than one person has noticed some religious aspect or another in the show and Tyrell made some comment about god being above them all when he was talking to his wife after something happened happened at Evil Corp. I do think that number is symbolic and the first google result for 12 Apostles leads me to this: Were there all men at the table? When Elliot enters the room he would be facing his 12 Apostles.
  11. Avaleigh, whether this Elliot = Tyrell business means anything, I appreciate the work you're putting in to make your case. You too, Chicago Redshirt and anyone else who’s weighed in in other threads - I can't wait to see if it means anything. I wondered early on if it meant anything that Tyrell seemed to randomly stop to talk to Elliot at that first visit or if it was just an easy way to have the two characters meet in the story, obviously that can go either way. I also wondered about the "Bonsoir". I don't think we're necessarily supposed to think that Tyrell is stupid, so it must mean something that he used the wrong word and spoke French at all. I mentioned in the Anticipation thread before this one was created, that I found your original post on the meaning of Elliot and that I saw on rewatch that Vera mentioned the importance of names. There is also an interview with Esmail where he specifically says he named Elliot what he did for a reason, so I don't think you are overanalyzing. I just hope we won't have to wait until a third or fourth season to get the answer to some of the questions we have.
  12. The problem is they can't know a celebrity's skills unless they've been on the show before or they've seen them on another game show. So unless they play a practice game before coming on the show, which I doubt most would want to do, it’s just going to be the luck of the draw a lot of the time. This makes sense. I also thought that the balloon seemed to get magically get bigger so that would explain it. I didn't realize the season was so short. I wish they'd do more.
  13. Yeah I went back and watched some episodes and figured it was mostly or only about the first name but I didn't know about the original last name. It turns out in the first episode with Vera, he asks Elliot what his name means. Vera thinks everyone should know the meaning of their name but Elliot doesn't. In a follow up epi, Vera tells Elliot that he looked it up and his name means brave and something else (I forgot already). And because I didn't start watching the show until the forth or fifth epi had aired already, I didn't bother to read the early boards but I went back and did that too and saw this: Also in the last episode, Mr. Robot says to Elliot something like, "you were suposed to be our god", which seems like it should tie in to the above quote in some way.
  14. I'm going to take my response to the Anticipation thread since it's not a spoiler.
  15. Well you're not completley grasping at straws with the first question. There is an interview with Esmail where the interviewer asks him to respond to a Buzzfeed post where the writer felt Esmail whitewashed Elliot with the name. Esmail said there was a specific reason he named Elliot what he did. So it will be interesting to see if you're on to something with that. Good catch.
