  1. Agree that John Voight is really the star of this show. I was never much of a fan before this but he's truly compelling here -- even though his character is repulsive you can't take your eyes off him, he totally embodies all the slimy, evil, self-centred, selfish, ruthless, scheming-but-stupid attributes of Mickey ... far beyond what is actually written for him. Looks like all the prep-work for Connor's long, slow stumble into sexuality is FINALLY going somewhere. We've had all the quick glances, side looks, hints, appearances of all the gay/TV hints. And NOW!!! -- the surprising encounter with he hooker at the geek party! Surely it's now time for Connor to be caught inflagrante delicto with another boy -- or at least some gay porn. We've never seen him with girly mags or websites, his computer screens have always been hidden, the trans-woman Chloe and gayish film star have come back and Ray has defended them to the studio. So NOW Ray will be faced with 'a queer in his own family' -- will he be a hypocrite or do the decent thing -- because we all know that deep inside Ray IS a decent guy! Abby has just been back home and been very supportive of her niece in her private/sex life so will she be the same with her own son's sex life? A reason to know that something is going on for Connor and for Bridget's liaison-to-be with the teacher. 'Ken Cosgrove' wouldn't be in the part if it was just a two/three episode 'arc' that don't arc! Another reason why Connor (the actor's name escapes me -- ooops!) is older than he says he is. If he's going to be seen in any sort of clinch with another guy the Producers will want to make sure that he's over 18 AT LEAST. Also, he has quite a thick beard shadow for a kid who's supposed to be only 17 in real life.
