  1. Caitlin: I felt for her, but from what had been shown, she approached Matt with walls up. I really thought she was going to roll down windows to say “I love you, I’m sorry I’m going through it...”. What I got was not helpful. Saying as someone from Milwaukee, this Kenosha boutique probably had their best sale in a month, no way they won’t promote that sale.
  2. One of the chefs must’ve been slicing onions. Or a whole bunch of sawdust got in my eye.
  3. I’m really enjoying this twist to Say Yes to the Dress.
  4. I hate when competition reality shows don’t have eliminations! Project Runway All Stars last week, now this all stars!? At least it’s not an all stars season of Top Chef.
  5. The way Tom notes that his son is a mixologist tells me someone is getting therapy, either now or later.
  6. I thought Anthony Ryan was color blind?! Or was that only when he needs to be (like when he needs a dying family member). Something about Sonny’s dress seemed fuzzy, like a filter was put just over that dress, and that effect I loved! If only he had a blue belt.
  7. I like drunk Padma. She seems fun.
  8. That was some weird editing during the lipstick reveal.
  9. I saw Evan Biddell (Project Runway Canada Season 1) and I am set! He will probably be out first given my luck.
  10. Still. This woman’s hair needed help. Already treated, and then neglected. However I thought the price quoted was high. This was not some busy posh salon. While the client was a walk in, the price seemed high. Maybe they saw a money mark in Clint.
  11. I wish I learned this show was back in 2 months, so I could stream it all! I can’t wait to see what happens. Were Scott and Lizzie featured at all? I feel bad for forgetting her name, but... Run from Marcellino! Im surprised Clint is the catch of that relationship. I can’t wait for Mom and newly blonde Tracie to meet. This show reminds me being single isn’t so bad.
  12. As a male non-mom, I can still identify with her hangups on self-critique, the snark, and the need for wine and cheese on the daily.
  13. Color me surprised. I thought Adam was the ringer. I also can't help it, but I found the whole idea of the challenge fun. I liked seeing B&G bait themselves for criticism and getting it elsewhere unexpectedly. I also identify with Amy, probably way too much. The self criticism and wine and cheese dinners sound like my average weeknight.
  14. I saw Katie at elimination and seriously thought Sarah (season 10, this year's Comeback Kitchen) had returned.
  15. Exactly! I was wondering why she didn't just make a jambalaya boudin ball? Even if it tasted awful, I'd give her props for making (a) street food, (b) adapting on the fly, and (c) staying on "brand." That she didn't come up with that makes her suspect, to me. The new cast seems universally awful. I don't even find the attractive one that hot. Perhaps Beating Bobby Flay Chicken Lady has a chance, otherwise this seems set up for an Adam or Amy coronation. Or maybe *gasp!* both.
  16. So I was gearing up for the new season of Drag Race and saw that one of the contestants was a Miss Gay America winner. After clicking through the wikipedia page for that pageant... guess who I saw was the 2017 winner!? Ms Suzy Wong!! aka Arnold Myint from season 11 of Next Food Network Star ... and season 7 of Top Chef ... can season 11 of RuPauls Drag Race be far behind??
  17. So Morgan clearly got her arm tattoo covered/tattooed over. I wonder what that was about... too much Superman? Season 2: Preview Video:
  18. Interesting that Chris mentioned that he was an alcoholic three years ago, instead of using the present tense. Still good that he didn't succumb to any drinking, but I thought the fretting about doing poorly or relying on immunity was a bit of a pity party. Maybe TC should borrow from MasterChef and just have immune cheftestants not cook. Also, I would like Mustache Joe to mansplain why ordering a Radler where he comes from would get you kicked in the balls. He smarmy machismo is getting annoying.
  19. There were some horrible prints all around. Claire won because hers was the only print of the top 3 that would look decent on a Dixie cup. Kentaro's had a better clothing design (even if I agree with Heidi), but a cup in his print would look leftover from the Boogie Nights set.
  20. I sort of liked Aaron's shorts for the audacity of them. Gretchen basically wore a sheer skirt and granny panties when she won. [Not that that excuses either of them, but it seems odd that judges have a real problem when it is on a man, but are not bothered when it's worn by a woman.]
  21. I was skeptical... I worried that without Mary, Sue, or Mel, the cozy comfort of the show might be lost. I am happy that the show is more-or-less faithful to the original series. Watching it with the commercials cut out really makes the two incarnations seem similar. I am not too sure about the new hosts, but I can envision them growing on me. The startling lack of innuendo was a nice change of pace. I didn't quite get the steampunky hot air balloon intro, perhaps it makes more sense for British viewers or others already familiar with the hosts. I wish Noel would speak louder during the voice overs though. My current favorite is Steven, who is unreasonably adorable. Flo seems like a lot of fun, in a faux cantankerous way. Tom brings some nice eye candy. All in all, the bakers seem like a pretty skilled batch. I'm excited to see how the season progresses.
  22. This is the type of drama I've been dying for all season, but it also feels a bit too little, too late. Valentina might be a bit crazy. And looks to be borrowing makeup tips from Willam. That jaw shadow... gurrrl. Nina is equally crazy, but at least is more endearing. I loved her look for the reunion too. Trinity is still my favorite.
  23. Felipe isn't the Native American character, "Felipe the Indian" is a Village Person. Just as he is a go-go boy, waiter, singer, and American Indian. It is who he is. Yes there were six Village People, but Felipe has always been a fixture of the Village People, through all of their incarnations, and arguable is the most visually striking and memorable member of the flashy group. Yes this is because of the headdress and the loin cloth costume... but to omit him from a Village People (and Gayest Runway Evah!) themed challenge because of who is is would be an insult to what the Village People celebrate: being yourself proudly.
  24. This season is so very underwhelming. Another awkward lip sync song. A mostly lackluster runway. Woooah!? Andie MacDowell was (and for some, I'm sure) the quintessential sweet, girl next door, all American sex symbol. Her hair, southern drawl, and appearance in so many great early-mid 90s romantic comedies merits a guest seat on the Drag Race panel any time Ru wants. Though, this week, I would have moved heaven and earth to get Caitlin Jenner to appear for the Village Themed runway. Imagine the editing we'd see as Peppermint LYSFL to Macho Man in front of her. I'd mark out for Steve Gutenberg too. Alas. I don't see it. Peppermint is an engaging lip syncer, sure. But in only two songs it already seems repetitive from her. She also wasn't against the most... captivating competitors. Dance moves last seen in the Janet Jackson If video can't save her every time. Coco remains one of the best assassins, but its Jujubee and Alexis are still the only undefeated, uncrowned, lip sync queens. [Though I consider Yara buzzing in during the All Stars S1 a moment that absolves Alexis of that team loss.] I'm not the least surprised about it because the Native American was one of the original Village People, its a statement of fact and shouldn't be ignored because we are more sensitive now to cultural appropriations and stereotypes. The character was credited as "Felipe the Indian" in Can't Stop the Music. In the mythology of the Village People, Felipe is an Indian, it is as much who he is as Glenn is a Leatherman. Since drag is built upon cultural appropriation, I doubt Ru, who is very old school in this regard, would mind somebody going full throttle American Indian aesthetic appropriation on the runway. It would be a dramatic, controversial, talked about moment. If it was fashionable, all the better! If Raja stepped on stage in the same American Indian look from Season 3, she would have won. What I find most offensive is that Sasha thinks there was a Mountie in the Village People.
