  1. That was some shady editing, after Roxxxy wins the lip sync, Cracker turns to leave the stage and the camera lingers on her obviously padded, panty hosed, and thong covered “butt.” Roxxxy didn’t do much, but knows how to serve body realness. On a shallow(er) note, I don’t care for Roxxxy’s new teeth, they do something to her face making her look... different.
  2. Shea, in her talking heads, seems really full of herself. I don’t mind confidence, but she is acting like she’s owed the crown, and it’s not cute.
  3. I don't think Alexis is saying she struggles with the language, she is saying her thought process is primarily in Spanish. Hence, she has to translate it as she thinks. English is also my first language, so perhaps I am mistaken. I found it riotous that Juju and India laughed about the struggle with English. They also have, presumably, known Alexis for years and seem friendly... so they know when a Queen is being Grand. The fight, also, was clearly self-produced. Much like the Trinity vs Gia 'battle' over playing Caitlyn Jenner. imo
  4. I was highly offended by the Golden Gals inspired room. If Shea is such a fan of the GG, then she absolutely should have known about The Golden Palace, the spin off after Bea Arthur left the show, which took place in a Miami Hotel. The colors and mood of the room already existed for an entire hotel run by Sophia, Blanche, and Rose (with the help Don Cheadle and Cheech) nearly 30 years ago. Calling the room the Golden Gals Palace was especially redundant.
  5. "Carne!" chef Dario Cecchini had such a terrible meal on Top Chef Kentucky, I am glad to see him enjoy what this show can be at it's best.
  6. It was probably the first finale I would be happy with anybody winning. At the end, I really thought Bryan might take it, but Stephanie laid in on the self confidence story-line and thought.... ohh she learned from Malarkey and might pull this through (and I also love an underdog)! But Melissa was a favorite all season and showed herself to be a thoughtful and worthy Top Chef. That black bean dish was beautiful. As someone unabashedly hoping for a Stephanie shock win, I thought about this: If Gregory was available, and Stephanie picked him, Bryan still selects Kevin, and Melissa is left with Malarkey. Given her steadiness, I still think she wins with Malarkey's suggestions just as much as Lee Ann's. Watching Watch What Happens makes it clear that Tom and Padma didn't see Stephanie as much of a contender.
  7. I am a Drag Race super geek and have been watching since Season 1 when I had to stream it the day after airing because parents wouldn't pay for premium gay channels like Logo. I love seeing how the newer fans react to the show. Ironically, Logo has very little gay programing on anymore... well, accept Mama's Family marathons, as Bubba had more than a hand in my gay youth... But I digress. I like that JuJu and Alexis are both featured this season as they each have hold a rare title. They are both undefeated at lip syncs. Each placed 3rd in their seasons, in an era when the 3rd place Queen was cast aside in the finale *(likely because Ru knew they would slay the eventual winner in a battle...). On All Stars Season 1, JuJu won her lipsync against Manila, and was double-saved against Raven. Meanwhile, Alexis, while she started her lipsync to Don't 'Cha, with her own flair, was tagged out by Yara Sofia. I stand by the notion that because of Yara's inserting herself and flailing, Alexis is absolved of losing that lip-sync. Consequently, JuJu and Alexis are the two most assassiny of the lip sync assassins (who haven't won*.) *I am not counting Adore or Courtney Act, as the Season 6 finale had a 3 way individual lip sync-off.
  8. This Milwaukeeian is so happy for Jaida!!
  9. Off topic... but I desperately wish Good Work would come back!!
  10. Exactly. It was slumber party themed (if I recall?!) ... if there is ever an appropriate time to have a thick facial/mud mask on... this would be the time!
  11. I am so tired of these queens talking about track records. If the track record was that important... than why even have a final challenge? Regardless, it seems to be the case for the judges, as the two weakest performing queens of the season were lipsyncing. Still, I think there is something to be said about Crystal's story arch of being a looked over underdog to really shining by the end of the season. Same could be said for Jaida who didn't really step up (after the first episode) until mid season. I found it to be a very lackluster lip sync, especially from the top five. Jackie taking her shoes off? Ooompf. And... I don't get why queens since the male verses in duets? If it were me, I'd dance along and point to the other queen as she mouths along to Pitbull. The JLo verses would be all mine 😄 Also found it odd that Ru specifically said at the end of the episode that Jackie Cox journey on Drag Race is over. Given the Sherry Pie stuff, and how quickly the show edited her out, they easily could have chopped off that line if the intention was to DQ Sherry and bring back Jackie. Now I do not think that is the case. Since the Covid lock down has changed the finale, it is not like need four queens for a tournament style showdown (thank goodness too, as those have become a tired exhibition of who can out reveal whom...) Team Jaida! But I am biased and from Milwaukee... so it'd be nice to see a Wisconsin queen I adore do so well! [Side eying Trixie...]
  12. Aiden, Aiden, Aiden. (sorry Jan) She should have just done the ghost of Mae West again.
  13. I cannot stand Gigi's jawline. There. I said it. As a boi, fine. As a gurl....
  14. My first quotable of the season, from UnTucked. "I'm gonna worry about Heidi right now, Ok? Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. I'm gonna worry about Heidi!"
  15. I am happy with a Geoffrey win. I thought all the Zaldy inclusion was a little odd, especially if he wasn't the winner. Nina, on Watch What Happens, noted that Serena was pro Sergio. Also, I got the vibe from WWH that Nina doesn't think too highly of Brandon.
  16. I was just as upset at Christian Siriano as Sergio for his own ignorance of Academy Award fashion history. How does he not remember South Park guys (Trey Parker/Matt Stone) wearing gowns to the 2000 Academy Awards!? Long before Billy Porter...
  17. While it is true that multiple endings are filmed at the finale taping, because of the elimination tournament style lip syncs to the crown, two of the final four queens were eliminated on stage and not part of the final lip-sync or eligible to win. Now, if Ru decides that the final lip-sync is another three-or-four way, that could change things. In the case last year, Asia O'Hara knew she was not going to the win the season after her lip sync elimination, so at the reunion, she seemed less constrained in holding her opinions or confronting Ru about the treatment of the Vixen.
  18. I am all too familiar how common the monogamy issue is among gay men, and how it isn't everybody's desire in a relationship. Perhaps that has shaded my view of Brooke, who clearly was not willing (or ready?) to be in a monogamous relationship with Vanjie. The way she talked about not being able to look at or flirt with another guy was telling. She seemed wound up just saying it. She was probably worried about coming off as the villain who broke Vanjie's heart. My real contention with Brooke though is how she goes on saying she loves Vanjie. I found it somewhat emotionally manipulative. Maybe she does love Vanjie (as a friend, ex, cast mate) but it came off as a cold choice of words (assuming) that Vanjie is the one who is the more heartbroken. It sucks they had to live out their relationship and breakup in the public eye. In hindsight, Brooke probably saw Vanjie as a cute, likable, boy who likes him back. Vanjie already had her story line of the season by coming back, and maybe saw Brooke as the real deal. It's not like Brooke was shy about instigating overt PDA. While I don't think A'keria is entirely correct, she made a good point that Brooke was wise to attach herself to Vanjie. It created a season long story line and gave the otherwise bland and stoic Canadian something to talk about besides being so god damned boring and perfect.
  19. I tried hard to read between the lines. Sounds like Brooke is a commitment-phobe and/or wanted more than monogamy. Vanjie seemed into a more traditional relationship model. They realized early that they wanted different things, and called it quits. Vanjie, while possibly the more hurt/spurned/emotionally invested one in their relationship, seemed heart broken at that moment, I think she will recover well. Brooke, I think, might be too narcissistic or walled-up for the intimacy that Vanjie sought.
  20. There is some form dating abuse that seems to be going on (or edited) for the sake of the audience. Geno is clearly gaslighting June, telling her to go to the hospital then when the EMTs arrive, reminding her of her dead mother, that hospitals kill people, that she's fine. He's flip flopping on her, and seemingly doing it on purpose to mess with her while she is clearly mentally unstable, and probably on drugs. There are elements of emotional/dating maniplation and abusive tendencies going on. Reminds me of a hillbilly Bitter Moon. Production must know that drugs are an issue, and it's happening on set, and that was probably why Alana has been moved out and is rarely filmed with June anymore. Meanwhile, WE is paying production for some "From Not to Hot" show, you can bet there would be some creative editing and shoehorned Jennifer storyline to keep that narrative. Isn't Gina one of the producers of this show? I would be interested in camera crews following her around trying to clean up this Geno/June PR nightmare.
  21. This is the first season, in 11 years, when I absolutely do not care who wins Drag Race. The remaining queens are all unlikable. Even Brooke and Yvie. Nina was the only thing keeping me around. Was she the most daring, fashionable, or elegant drag performer? No. Was she fun, good spirited, and a (more or less) positive energy for this increasingly negative show? Yes. So congrats to whomever wins. This show is becoming a tired parody of itself, the type of reality shows it mocked in earlier seasons.
  22. I like Nina, a lot. But I am glad she didn't win Snatch Game. I cannot stand when queens do two completely different people. It is a cop out. Commit to one character and follow it through. I feel the character change is a gimmick for when you don't have enough material (or confidence) to commit to one character. Her turning the game into another game show, with her own SnatchWord card, was genius. (And you know how Ru loves her classic game shows!) I wish she had done Joanne the whole time, but made each response a different type of game show. Yvie really is beginning to bug me. For someone that loves to dish out criticisms, she sure doesn't know how to take it.
  23. I feel like Joel picked up on Michelle's hatred. And TrumpTrolled her for it.
  24. The cross over potential for Love After Lockup greatly excites me. That fact should, probably, concern me.
  25. I didn’t mind Michelle’s Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman dress. Louise Lasser would’ve looked great in it. Filming with a 1977 tv camera could’ve helped.
