  1. I know a lot of people don’t like MH, but I thought this was sweet:

While filming one of the final episodes of season 25 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in New York City on April 10, Hargitay, 60, was approached by a little girl who believed her to be a real police officer based on the badge she wore as part of her character’s outfit.

A witness tells PEOPLE that the little girl had been separated from her mother in the Anne Loftus Playground in Fort Tryon Park and enlisted Hargitay for help. The actress obliged, halting production for 20 minutes to help the child locate her mother and to console them both.

They should have added another character, a victim's advocate or something, he (or she) could have taken over for the FBI profilers position.

That pretty much sums up Dr. Huang’s character. He was a profiler but also a psychologist for the perps and the victims. It’s too bad they couldn’t bring him back, or have a similar character. I’d rather have that than another detective.

I could’ve done without Liv at the end, but I didn’t even mind her connecting with the witness. I appreciated using the whole squad, but didn’t understand why Sykes (that’s the FBI agent, right?) was in a sweatshirt. Why didn’t she get the Muncy speech about proper dress code?

I didn’t mind her talk with him at the end either. Yes, it was a little cheesy but it was better than her just flat out telling him he hallucinated the man and that the pain of the trauma is going to stay with him for the rest of his life. She needs to have a good “bedside manner” in her job, which she does. It’s just too bad the show is so heavy handed about it and makes it seem like every victim she comes in contact with is instantly better for talking with her.

Like someone else said above, I was also afraid Liv was going to take him to meet the agoraphobic girl and there’d be a meet-cute between them. 😅

I had the same thought about the FBI agent’s hoodie! I guess she gets a pass from Liv because she’s not a rookie.

Best part of this episode was the return of Bruno. Worst part was that the two cousins from Columbia had no accent. I don’t know why that bugged me so much.

  4. I think the Hound was the worst sounding singer that has ever appeared on this show. Her family must be really hard up for money, but I give her props for being on the show to support them. Gumball was my favorite so I was bummed to see him in the bottom two.

  5. I don't have an opinion about Rita yet, but it seemed like she kept saying that everyone had a great voice, which wasn't true. I don't know where she lives, but I wonder if she will have issues guessing the American contestants, especially ones that aren't singers and are more pop culture related. I know there are lots of Brits who are popular in the UK but that I have no clue about.

I'm very sorry (mortified actually) that I hurt people's feelings and meant no disrespect.  To everybody whom I offended, please accept my apologies - life in general has enough to grind our teeth over and TV shouldn't be one of those things.  Again, apologies.

Aww that's sweet, thank you, apology accepted. After I made my post, I actually thought I might have over-reacted a bit. 😅 After all, it was just someone else's opinion over a TV show. I think I just had a long day at work and was triggered by your post. Sorry about that.

It seems odd in today's age to quit a job without something else lined up.  Stuart Martin is a good actor, but it's not like he's a name actor.

I thought perhaps the reason he didn't appear a lot in season 4 was because he was filming Rebel Moon parts 1 and 2, which are Netflix films. I'm assuming he's interested in larger roles, and the filming schedule of Miss Scarlet is interfering with that. He also has two little kids, so that could have affected his decision.

Although I will miss William a lot, the storyline between him and Eliza was just going around in circles, and there didn't seem to be a way for them to both get what they wanted. It was getting a bit stale since the writers were moving their relationship along at a snail's pace. I think Nash is a nice change, whether he remains just friends with Eliza, or something more.

    No thread for tonight's show?

Yeah, I'm looking for it too. Where The Crazed Spruce?

I just created a thread for the season 11 premiere. I think anyone can make a new thread, it doesn’t need to be created by a mod. 😉

Lacy Baugher wants a bodice ripper and not a detective show.  I'm a viewer who wants the detective show and roots for a woman who, although she can be a self-centered pain the butt,  is also great at solving crimes and trying to make her way in a world where women were mostly relegated to being wives or spinsters looking after their parents or other people's kids.

Just because she, and many of us, were invested in Eliza and William's relationship doesn't mean that we want the show to be a "bodice ripper" or a "soap opera". It's fine if you tune in because you are solely invested in the investigation aspect, but like Lacy said, "the show was always predicated on and grounded in their relationship, and to pretend otherwise is to deny the original premise behind its very existence." To minimize the disappointment of those who feel let down by 4 seasons of a relationship buildup, by saying we should just tune in to some crappy reality show on Bravo instead, is just dismissive and disrespectful.

  9. I think what bugged me the most was Fin exclaiming "There's no one here!", not once, but twice, when they were inside the house. He said it right before Olivia was going to go into the basement and of course Olivia ignored him and ended up being Maddie's savior.

The science teacher said they were prehistoric whale bones.

I think when the video is shot in darkness and the walls behind her earthy and are clearly not any sort of lab, and Danvers goes off in a blizzard to find the cave the video was shot in, then we can safely assume it was in fact not shot in the secret underground lab below Tsalal.

Thanks, I forgot about the part where he said it was a whale. Must have been a very long, thin whale.

I think most of the “walls” behind her are not walls but the ceiling, and they are made of ice. I didn’t see anything that looked earthy. You could see them sparkle. I think the point of the spiral bones was to link the area where the video was filmed to the ice lab. That’s why Danver points them out. They’ve found their crime scene. When Danvers entered the ice cave, she walked through them a bit before coming to the lab so it’s safe to assume the ice tunnels connect to the lab. The entrance must not have been that far from Tsalal though since they didn’t seem to walk that far. I think you’re putting too much into the difference in lighting between the video and the ice lab. I think between the bones, the murder weapon found in the lab, and the flashback of her destroying the ice lab and then being murdered in it, I don’t see how you can assume her video was taken somewhere else. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m sure production wanted the video to look dark and mysterious and didn’t want to give anything away. I guess I’d blame them for tricking us.

Did you rewatch the episode where Danvers played Annie K's video over and over? Because that wasn't a slightly darker section of lab - it was in a dark tunnel in a cave, which contained prehistoric whale bones in the ceiling.

Yes, and I don't think you can just assume she was in a dark tunnel. The fish's bones (I don't think it was a whale) were lit up enough to be able to see them and you can see the light reflecting off the ice. If it was dark, we wouldn't have been able to see the bones. As far as being in a tunnel, I didn't get that sense from the video. Like I said, because the camera is pointing up at the ceiling, it just seems like she was in a smaller space than she was.

Where was Liz in the last scene?  That wasn’t their house.

I think it was either a vacation home or Navarro's new home. Guess it depends on what you think happened to Navarro.

How did the scientists get blown out eardrums and scratched corneas? Are we supposed to think they were unable to come back and get their clothes due to an immediate avalanche?

I think that was because of the type of avalanche they were in. It seems plausible, especially the scratched corneas. They basically froze immediately.

My biggest issues with the finale were the cleaning ladies killing ALL the scientists when they didn't know if they were all guilty, and the tongue never being explained.

And yet we saw the video Annie K made on her phone in the dark of a tunnel with the whale bones showing, and she was screaming as whoever found her and came to kill her got there, and we saw and Danvers remarked - see, the power went off - and we heard Annie screaming at length in the dark.

The scene of Annie being murdered was not in a dark tunnel, with whale bones, it was in a bright white lab, and at no time was the power shut off, it was fully lit, and they stomped on Annie's phone to shut it off.

I rewatched the scene, and although there are some lights around the perimeter of the ice lab, the end of the lab she was murdered on appears darker. Rewatching Annie's video, since she is pointing the camera up at the ceiling, it makes sense that the ceiling would be darker. I think the way she is holding the phone makes it seem like she's in a smaller space than she is. If she had been holding the phone upright, we would have seen more of the surroundings of the lab, but that would have given away the mystery too soon! Also, during the flashback to when she is first being stabbed, the lights are flickering.

In the midst of a brutal storm, Danvers and Navarro find themselves stuck at Tsalal with no electricity or means of contact. As the truth about what happened to Annie and the Tsalal men unfolds, Navarro and Danvers each confront the demons from their past.

I guess where my confusion started was when Peter told Danvers that Wheeler was left-handed, she responded, "I didn't know that." I first took that as her saying that until Peter told her, she didn't know. But maybe she meant AT THE TIME she didn't know that. But still, who knew he was left-handed? When did Danvers and Navarro learn this?

Ah yea, that’s confusing. I thought when he asked her “Did you know…” he was talking in past tense and meant Did you know when you shot him that he was left handed? Hopefully they clear things up, but with only one episode left, I’m not hopeful.

Why is Kate calling Hank “Henry”? Why an experienced cop like Hank goes above and beyond to assassinate a junkie in another cop’s house?

I missed when she called him Henry, but that’s probably his real name. Hank is a nickname. People tend to switch over to actual names when they want someone’s serious attention.

Hank grabbed Liz’s gun to aim at the junkie, so I think he was trying to frame Liz.

I'm a little confused about the Wheeler case. The guy was left-handed. The photos of his girlfriend had been flipped to show that it was a right-handed person who hit her? Who flipped the photos? But the photo of Wheeler's supposedly self-inflicted gunshot wound wasn't flipped? I'm sure this makes sense, but I obviously misunderstood.

The autopsy report must have said that he shot himself with his right hand. There would have been an internal investigation, so Liz probably flipped the other photos so they pointed to him being right handed as well. I do wonder if Liz is covering for Navarro. I feel like there’s more to the story, so hopefully we find out the truth.

  17. The episode was on onDemand so I rewatched the part where I thought they had sex to make sure I was remembering it correctly. I’m even more convinced that they slept together. Ben knocks on Hannah’s door because he’s upset. Hannah is wearing a silk robe with a slip or nighty underneath. They hug, then there’s a fade to black with a long pause. Cut to a shot of the exterior of the hotel in the day. I remember learning in one of my media classes that filmmakers would use that trick (simply showing an exterior shot of the house etc in the morning) to imply sex in the 50s because they weren’t allowed to show it between unmarried people. Ben and Hannah are having breakfast in her hotel room. The bed looks slept in. Now she’s wearing a white robe and you can’t see if anything is underneath. Ben has a tank top (undershirt) on. When he leaves, he grabs his shirt and jacket from the night before. In the next scene, he’s wearing different clothes. When Addison appears, her eyes are shut and she slowly opens them, relieved/surprised that Ben and Hannah are not in an intimate state.

I do think they could have made it more obvious while keeping it PG, but maybe they didn’t care about it being obvious. Since she never got pregnant from the encounter, I don’t think it really matters to the storyline. Which begs the question, why did I spend the time to rewatch and type up this post? 😆

There's snow outside and Eliot is grilling steaks in the yard whilst wearing a shirt and a vest - I don't think so.

I didn’t see anything implausible about that. I know plenty of people who grill out in the winter when the weather is mild here in the Midwest. And a large man standing in front of a hot grill probably wouldn’t be too cold.

It was less time than Addison, but Ben and Addison were engaged. Hannah had a couple intense encounters with Ben, but also knew it could be years until she saw him again. She doesn't even know that she will. I wouldn't expect her to wait forever.

True. I don’t really begrudge her for not waiting longer, I guess I’m more annoyed at that show because they made it seem like they had some cosmic connection. Star-crossed lovers who were destined to be together eventually.

  21. Did anyone else get a little motion sick from the therapist moving her arm back and forth? I had to FFwd through most of that scene. I doubt I missed anything important.

I’m guessing that won’t be the last therapy session we see. Mariska was on Jimmy Fallon tonight and said that this season would be delving into Olivia’s mind and that her arc is about healing.

I thought they said her son was 7. I remembered because I was assuming the kid was Ben's and thought the numbers didn't add up. But Hannah could have fudged how long it has been.

And if she was pregnant and single in the 50s, you can't blame her for getting married.

I just read a review that said he’s 7, so I think you’re right. Even so, she still waited less time before moving on than Addison did! But I still prefer her as a love interest over Addison.

Also, she got pregnant in the 60’s. Not as scandalous as the 50’s, but if she had aspirations of becoming a professor, I could see feeling pressured to get married.

  23. What bothered me about this is that Hannah’s son is 8. She was last with Ben 9 years ago. I think she made a comment about how she couldn’t wait forever for him, but really she only waited only a few months before getting married to someone else and getting pregnant. I was wondering if maybe her son is actually Ben’s son (or rather the son of the man he leapt into). I don’t know why she would keep that info from him though.
