The groups are... Alana, Dani B. and Shane Dani J, Eva and Laura E.J., Hakim and Jeff Chris, Honora and Luke. The first video focuses on Alana, Dani B. and Shane. Shane is looking more unbalanced than ever.

They just released the first extended preview of Naked and Afraid XL on-line. And based on some of the mixed-in footage of people walking around, I'm going to make a prediction that Honora will be the first one out. Well, not that bold given her previous record, I admit. :) But the new trailer revealed four things of note. 1. While not given directions on finding one another, the 12 were put into "trio" groups and released close together in four different areas within the same 20 square mile area. 2. Honora was put in a group with Luke and Chris. All the footage of Honora in the preview is of her fighting with Chris and Honora declaring she doesn't feel physically safe around Chris. 3. There's footage of Chris and Luke walking with Eva, Laura and Dani Beau (the one all-women trio) with no sign of Honora. 4. They show a woman who passed out. Her face is hidden but it looks like Honora.

I'm amazed Eva didn't kill Jeff. All his talk about not liking feminists when she's the only one who is successfully catching any animals despite him allegedly being some kind of hunting expert. And his refusing to cuddle for warmth when they don't have a fire... Throw in his continual praying and then crediting that with their finally getting snake eggs instead of her scavenging abilities... yeah, I think the only thing that saved him was Eva's commitment to not killing dumb animals and the fact that his rotting carcass would have attracted hyenas.

Yeah. I think they were both bad teammates but for different reasons. Carrie was spot on in her assessment that Tom was an officer who couldn't cope with his orders being ignored and his plans altered. Survival requires a degree of flexibility that doesn't jibe with a by-the-book military approach. But Carrie was just childish with her complaints about boredom and her wandering off in search of adventure... even if that did occasionally yield results like the clams.

Basically, they knock points of their final PSR. It happened in the episode with Tom and Carrie when she wandered off without him, went two miles upstream before he found her and figured out they were supposed to be heading downstream. And then they wound up on the wrong side of the cove they were meant to be extracted from. So the chopper was sent to where they were and they both got points taken off despite completing the challenge.

From what I read in an interview after the fact, apparently it was something she brought into the show with her. As with the Miley lookalike in the India episode, apparently the producers weren't doing medical screenings immediately before the challenge started. So Ashley had some kind of food/water poisoning from something she ate before the challenge started.

Yeah. I read an interview she gave where apparently she got food poisoning from the hotel in the village the day before shooting was meant to start and the producers didn't wait until she was given the all-clear from the medic before starting the challenge. Which seems likely given how she got much better as a survivalist once she wasn't puking her guts out.

Maybe it's my anti-authoritarian streak or maybe it's because I've known too many ex-soldiers who talked about Honor and Duty and Respect while cheating on their wives, but I must confess a certain schadenfreude watching these episodes where some macho military man's man is shamed by his female partner.

Yeah, Afften managed the impossible - making Honora seem competent.

Close. Every person GETS one item. They're allowed to bring a few iterms with them but the producers determine which one is placed in the bags when the meet up with their partners. In case you're wondering how they've been so lucky after 30+ episodes to never have two people both bring fire-starters or knives. :) There was also a funny bit on The Ellen Show where they but Kristen Bell - clad in a flesh body stocking- through a mock jungle on their stage.

Yeah. And it looks like he's not going to be much better on Naked and Afraid XL.

Yeah. The way she pulled off her dress to reveal nothing underneath? It's clear what she was here for - publicity for her modeling career. Still, she can be proud of one thing. Making Honora and Cassie look good by comparison.

Yeah, Justin on this episode was pretty obnoxious. I'm a Southern boy myself and you know what I'd call a woman who can hunt better than me? A keeper! Glad to see she's coming back for Naked and Afraid XL.

I do think her not doing much until Darren had trouble getting to the boat and - aha- suddenly the marathon swimmer gets to do something useful was probably contrived.
