  1. He said he got his luck from doing so many of these lucky forgery spells that it "rubbed off" on him and now he has constant good luck.
  2. I hope we see him soon. I don't want to believe that our original Penny is gone. And, as eye candy, I miss my half-shirtless Penny!
  3. Can someone explain why people are so bothered by this? Swearing does not bother me at all, and it makes the show and the characters feel a lot more realistic to me -- this is the way (most) people (especially young people) actually talk.
  4. I'm so happy this show is back, and with a good premiere! But it's been so long since last season that I've forgotten some stuff! What happened to Ghost Penny? Is he really gone for good? Why did Fogg make that deal with the Library? It made no sense even last season, as I recall. Seems out of character for him. Alice's character is all over the place. It's disappointing, since in previous seasons she was one of my favorite characters. It's like they don't know what to do with her now. I hated her scenes in this episode. I'm terrified of/grossed out by roaches, so I literally could not even watch that scene. The Santa Claus thing was stupid. Good things about the episode: -Margo, who steals the scene in any scene she is in -Evil Elliot! Poor Quentin. -Kady & her detective skills. I'm pretty sure that Dean Fogg wrote the comic...isn't his first name "Tiberius"? -DJ Penny I was confused about Kimber/Julia. In the classroom when Kimber is taking the test, Fogg looks at her through a glass like he doesn't know who she is. But isn't he the one who made the glamour disguise spells for all of them? The Library lady mentions it in her conversation with Fogg. And at the end, he seems to know he is talking to Julia. Also, how come he is not wondering what happened to Elliot? If he's concerned about protecting his students, why does he never mention Elliot or seem concerned that one of his students is missing?
  5. Thank you for this! I now don't even want to see the movie anymore, because so many people have spoiled it for me on the TV forums. Nicky is such an idiot.
  6. yeah, it was so stupid and out of character for him to want to join the (equivalent of) the Redhats, after all his family has been through
  7. My theory on this: He was not saving it for Lena, that was just the excuse he gave to J as to why he was cleaning it. At the end we see him torch it, so obviously he meant to clean it and get rid of it, destroying evidence from a murder. Why would he want to do that? My guess is that he wants to find and deal with the murderer himself, and not have the police involved. I think J is FINALLY realizing that he should dump Nicky, all she does is cause him more problems.
  8. I think this is due to Shawn Hatosy being such a good actor, and also that, now that Smurf is in jail, he is the only one of the family who actually cares about Lena and is trying to be a real guardian to her. The others would ship her off to foster care in a heartbeat.
  9. I enjoyed this series a lot and I hope there will be more episodes. The only thing that confused me were: 1. Was that really Gereon's brother at the end, and why did he abandon his wife & son if he'd survived the war? 2. Why did the Armenian want the train of gold? It was obvious what the other factions' motives were, but I was not sure of his motive. 3. Why did the Armenian subtly threaten Charlotte's little sister even after Charlotte had given him all the info he'd asked for? I thought the costumes, settings and cinematography were great in re-creating the look of the 1920s. This was a really interesting show. I loved Charlotte and Gereon as characters and the actors were so good.
  10. I never like to watch things dubbed. I prefer hearing the actor's own voices no matter what language they are speaking. The "voice actors" who do the dubbing are not really acting a lot of times, they are just reading the lines so it always sounds flat. Like the difference between hearing someone just reading the lines of a play versus seeing the play acted out. I think people should just do the extra work of reading subtitles, it's worth it. As a bonus, you can learn some bits of different languages or brush up on one you've forgotten.
  11. Cool, I'm glad it got a chance to continue! It was one of my favorite sci-fi shows.
  12. I heard that SyFy channel cancelled this show...doesn't make me want to finish watching it
  13. I thought in the comics, Prof. X didn't know for a long time that he had a son? It was a kind of depressing episode. In only one of the timelines, David was happy (the one where he was married with kids). That timeline where Kerry cut him in half was harsh. I liked the subtle social commentary about the problems faced by homeless people and the mentally ill. It was very interesting seeing that thermonuclear power of David's -- isn't that a power we have have never seen before?
  14. All very true. And, it irritated me to no end that Dean Fogg thinks that getting meager rations of magic from the library (only after filling out those forms in triplicate!) is better than helping Quinn & Co. just restore magic for everyone. Made no sense.
  15. It is nice to see Josh Holloway running around in the forest again! It's like he's back in his natural habitat. (On a totally shallow note, he looks hot with the shorter hair and beard; I also enjoyed the completely unnecessary necessary shirtless scene. I don't know how old he is but he sure keeps himself in shape.) I think they found the cabin that Will's old partner had told him about. I thought we saw Snyder activate that tracker at the end of season 2, so why did it take 6 months to find them?
  16. There are shelters for abused women. Please get your niece some help!
  17. Well, this show was co-created with one of the guys who created "Lost", so...
  18. All the multiple timelines are getting confusing
  19. Wow, this show. Every episode has so many things to process! I admit, I didn't recognize Amy at first when they showed her. It's been a while since we've seen her. Why was her boyfriend driving this weird donut truck? Why were these guys going in and out of a hole in the desert where the truck was parked? Am I crazy or did I see that? Why was Amy having dreams about Basket-head (forgot his name) and the robot-mustache-women? Were they trying to somehow warn her about Farouk? Except I thought they'd been killed by either Farouk or the monk?? How did Amy know who Oliver was? How did she ever meet him before this? She said "Oliver" the minute he walked in. So, Oliver is sometimes still Oliver!! He has flashes of memory about Melanie! And he knows a way to possibly kill Farouk because of a weakness he discovered! I couldn't figure out his clue though. I liked the very dark cover of an already dark Tom Petty song, "Don't Come Around Here No More," and of course thought of the creepy video, where Alice in Wonderland is on a table and then suddenly her body turns into a cake and Tom Petty as the Mad Hatter is cutting into her...it really went with that scene of Oliver cutting into (or whatever he was doing) to Amy's body. Also the lines "I don't feel you anymore, you darken my door" to indicate that Oliver is, at that moment, not in charge of his body. I think Amy's consciousness must still be in the body (now Lenny's body) because David saw the flashes of him and his sister as kids. Well, now we know why Oliver and Lenny broke into Division 3 that time -- to steal that device that I guess can uses someone's DNA to make another person look like them. I'm not sure how Farouk then transferred Lenny's mind into the new body. Why did Farouk choose David's sister's body for Lenny? Just to mess with David and make David even more determined to kill him? I thought he needed David's help to find his body? This show confuses me but I love it anyway, it's so crazy and unpredictable.
  20. I think the worst one was when she was on white racist rich lady brain, and talked very disrespectfully to Clive.
  21. Yeah, even Danerys on Game of Thrones had a more realistic white wig than Liv did. I also agree with all previous points, this show has gotten too much "Liv on wacky brain of the week."
  22. Why didn't Syd explain to her mother what happened? Did her mother ever find out Syd had powers? Did they ever get that guy out of jail? Ugh, Syd. When did her powers first manifest? Only when she and the teen guy kissed? Did she know before that she had powers? At first I interpreted that scene as, she purposely kissed the guy so she could beat up the bullying girls and get away with it. How did her mom not know she had powers? What happened in that scene where Syd comes out of the room where she's trying on hats, goes out into the living room where her mom is reading poetry, and everyone stares at Syd? I didn't get it. At the dance club, was Syd switching bodies with everyone who bumped into her and touched her? How did no one notice? This episode just seemed like the director or show writer had just read that book ("The Ring of Brightest Angels") and wanted to make an episode quoting it and its philosophy. I'm not sure I agree with Syd. Love is the only thing that can save us, and we don't need to hurt ourselves just to be strong. I loved the first season of this show, but these weird trippy-just-to-be-trippy episodes are wearing out my patience.
  23. And she used to be helping Ravi work on a cure, now she's just infecting new people Ravi will have to try to cure later.
  24. Yes, Jim Holden is pretty hot, and in the books and show his love for coffee is well known. As for your other questions, I would recommend catching up on the previous seasons, which were actually very good. I'm a fan of the books (still haven't finished the whole series yet though, there are a lot of books and they are still writing more). I like this show a lot and I'm glad it's back!
