  1. I think I keep missing an episode or two. Can someone please explain why Julio isn’t speaking to Andy and why Andy explains to Sharon that he did what he did to Julio because he wanted to protect her?
  2. You know when I disliked Rusty the most? When he wanted to write an audition article about their investigation into the string of robberies that ended in murder and got pissed that Major Crimes went to professional reporters rather than give him the scoop. He should have had more than Buzz calling him out.
  3. I was born and raised in Texas, went to Texas A&M, and “tu” (University of Texas in Austin). I can comfortably say those experts did not know what they are doing. I agree with the earlier poster who said she sounds like Julia Sugarbaker, which is not remotely close to a Texas accent.
  4. There is no place in Texas where you will hear anyone speaking like Uma Thurman did. Honestly, the thing I loved most about the movie was my son’s excitement to see a storyline to which he could relate.

Re the movie, I was more annoyed by the scene in which Leah had to explain to him at practice that football is like family. The lawsuit breaks my heart, but somehow I’m not surprised.
  6. I only remember actually reading the story about Tigger bouncing too high, but as an adult I find I love more of the characters and would love to visit Hundred Acre Wood.
  7. Susan was awful to him, and I hated how much they loved winding him up in the beginning. Carol should have shut that crap down hard.
  8. We watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Leads had good chemistry, and it was just fun. I haven’t read the book yet, but it’s in my pile.
  9. My favorite comment about national parks: according to Josh, Shenandoah National Park is as good a place as any to dump President Bartlett’s body.
  10. I liked him with Ainsley, too. I hated the prostitute storyline beyond his accidentally sleeping with her in the pilot ("This is bad on so many levels!"). I thought Rob had chemistry with most of the cast.
  11. I loved Sam, and I loved him with Mallory. I was sorry to see him leave.

I don’t know much about Tim, but I’m a Guardians fan. The night before Tim moved rookie Roccio’s hand off the bag after a glorious double. Because the ump just called Roccio safe without pointing out the illegal move to get his hand off the base, White Sox challenged and New York said it can only look at if the hand came off and not how so called Roccio out. Guardians are steamed; I know I am. Then Tim the next night starts jawing at another rookie, enough that the ump intervenes. Some say he told both to shut it; others say he just said something to Tim. Jose slides into second base after a double, and Tim swiped at his head (Jose said the tag was “too hard”). Jose gets up, yells something with his finger in Tim’s face, and Tim drops his glove and takes three swings at Jose before Jose takes the first and only swing he needed. Since no one got hurt, I loved it because Jose is one of the most mild mannered people on the team, he wants to protect his rookies (he said that’s what he told Tim - that these players are just trying to make it and take care of their families and Tim was disrespectful), and Tim instigated the actual fight (Jose said Tim said he wanted to fight so they did). Jose has put out a long public apology and says that he has tried to reach out directly to Tim, but no answer yet.

My favorite was Tito’s reaction: reporter: “what did you think of Jose’s left hook?” Tito, immediately: “Right hook.” Then later: “You don’t want to laugh. I mean you shouldn’t laugh.” You just know Hamilton’s call of the fight is playing on a loop in the clubhouse: “Down goes Anderson!”

    Barbie (2023)

I do want to see Barbie again because there was so much happening on screen that I know I missed stuff!

    Barbie (2023)

Finally saw it tonight, and maybe it was overhyped? I really enjoyed it, but didn’t cry or question my existence like I’ve seen so many do online. Son told me to grab tissues, but not a hint of a tear. Loved the dancing and Ken’s song and narrator’s note to the filmmakers about the problem with casting Margot to make a point about not being pretty enough. The acting was great across the board, but maybe I’m still too blown away by Oppenheimer to fully appreciate this one. It probably also doesn’t help that I just had my sisters’ old Barbie, and my mother was not a fan of the doll.

  17. Can someone who understands MLS rules explain this scenario to me? Columbus-Minnesota game ends in penalty kicks. Minnesota goalie walks to the line, ref in front of him and backpedaling, to give an unwanted hug to the striker lining up his shot. How is that not an automatic red card?? Apparently this goalie has played this mind game before. Why is it allowed?
  18. Taking away the champagne glass is my favorite part of that scene. I also love Bartlett having the fiancé meet the joint chiefs and the look he gives CJ when she asks if he planned that. Vic seemed like a good guy and someone Ellie would have fallen in love with.
  19. At first I thought she was merely fine, then it was like she changed gears halfway through and was terrific!
  20. I finished No Two Persons: A Novel by Erica Bauermeister and loved it. Not much happens, but it’s just a series of glimpses into the lives of characters who either read or were involved in the publication of a novel and how that novel changed them. I thought it was clever and fell in love with many of the characters she created. I loved the first novel in the Good Girl, Bad Blood series; I just read the second and now am pretty sure I’ll skip the third.
  21. Yes! At one point he announces the only reason Hawkeye is chief surgeon is because he was there the longest and then keeps saying he’d be chosen as chief surgeon for the proposed MASH. I was thinking he wasn’t even second choice. How about when Hawkeye writes the article to get the son home before his mom is deported? A professional reporter asks if he can rewrite it, and Hawkeye immediately says yes, but BJ keeps pointing out to everyone that the reporter’s article is better written. Of course it was! Man, he’s a jerk.
  22. We are just about done with our binge rewatching, and BJ is really a petty jerk a lot of the time. For example, I hate when the boxer has the stroke and BJ is jealous that the reporters follow Hawkeye around. He blames Hawkeye for wanting the attention when it’s pretty clear Hawkeye hates it.
  23. I’m one. I want an update on how everyone is doing. Is the pub packed? How will a pub being built in the new stadium affect him? How’s the band member? I like the game highlights, but the people were my draw.
  24. I assumed he did so because he now thought it would just be a party of two. They were moved to the table for two by the time the others began to show.
  25. “Masterpiece” is one of those words that gets tossed around way too freely, and yet this movie truly is. I’ve actually never seen a Christopher Nolan film before; this one is impeccable. Now I’m on the waitlist for the book that was its source material. Cillian Murphy (again, have never seen him act before) is outstanding.
