    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I'm pretty sure these were taped back at the same time as the other Teen Tournament, so way before.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

That was a good FJ clue. I got there by math. 45-17= 28, and I was pretty sure the 28th President was long before QE2 took office. Ergo, Victoria. You know what I don't like about the Teen Tournament? No one talks about it much, so there's not as much discussion to read, here or anywhere else. But then I don't have much to say about it either, so I'm part of the problem.

    What is...In the Media?

I somehow got knocked off the Jeopardy email list. Can anyone here confirm what I've read elsewhere, that an email was sent out with the schedule of reruns between seasons? Apparently the All Stars tournament is supposed to rerun beginning August 26. I have fixed my DVR timer accordingly and set it to record an unlimited number of episodes, including reruns. I will not lose this tournament again!

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

It's okay to post now, right? Or do we not talk about the Teen Tournament? I'm embarrassed because I had a horrible first round today, leading to a Coryat that wouldn't have been acceptable for a regular game. Bombing out in the pop culture categories did not help me. I'm always impressed at how well-spoken the teens are compared to the ones I know, including the one living in my house. I got FJ, it was Pavlovian.

    This week it was EJ.

@AuntiePam, I just wanted you to know that "trips my trigger" is my new favorite euphemism and I'm stealing it.

    What is...In the Media?

Netflix is swapping out Jeopardy episodes on June 28. So if you haven't already rewatched the 2011 ToC that's on there now (with Roger Craig's famous back-to-back True Daily Doubles), better do it quick! I would most hope for Netflix to have BoD on, but since they've already had that one before apparently (I missed it like a dolt), it's not likely. And All Stars is probably too new. My guess is that we'll get one of the newer ToC, and probably the specialty tournaments.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

The most plausible explanation I saw for Becky's miss on the Frederick Douglas clue is that she was distracted by the "Is God dead?" part, which led her to Nietzsche. I feel bad for her, also her interview which was awkward (80s bands on their way down? Yikes).

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

What I noticed was that he was doing that closed mouth, nervous, running his tongue along his teeth thing that James did a lot. And I'm not saying you're wrong about looking like they're straight outta central casting. But they're still fun to watch. @AuntiePam, you are right. Jeopardy is normally "cast" with regular folks, so the pretty people stand out.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

Whoa. I don't think there have ever been TWO such stunning examples of male pulchritude on the Jeopardy stage at the same time. The showrunners should have planned that better, because only one could win. Hope E.J. packed some suits for his next trip to Jeopardy. I'm not a fan of the casual look. Oh, right, there was a game going on. Not a very impressive game, clues left uncovered and a plethora of mistakes. I vacillated between polio and smallpox for FJ and would have gotten the wrong one. I thought that abolitionist question was really a Mickey Mouse clue since they were spotting us the first name, and then the lady missed it! I'm guessing E.J. has read that Secrets of the Jeopardy Buzzer book (or whatever it's called). He does the Holzhauer/Rutter stance.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I'm right there with you on the preening. Not only that, but he's demonstrating an impressive range of knowledge. He would have caused a much bigger stir pre-James. He seemed to be hunting for Daily Doubles in the categories most likely to have them. He's obviously read some strategy. I'm planning to force my daughter to watch him. She despises all peacocking, so her reaction should be very entertaining.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

Next week is the Teen Tournament, and you can't imagine how relieved I was to hear Alex say that this is the second Teen Tournament for the season. I thought my life was going by way too fast because it sure didn't seem like a whole year had passed!

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I didn't notice EJ's intro today, but the clip is making its way around Twitter. The wink, kiss, eyebrow lift, and grin combo was a bit much. He needed to save something for the next day in case he won (which he did). I don't care, I stand by my previous statement. Even if I am old enough to be his mom (a teen mom, mind you!). I was just on the Baja peninsula last month and everyone was referring to that area on the map as the Sea of Cortez. So I'm confused about that. I thought of Snafu for FJ, but figured that Jeopardy wouldn't use such a blatant reference to the f-bomb.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

And I am enjoying every minute of it. I like my Jeopardy champs handsome, well-dressed, and smug as heck. I got FJ, but today I discovered that I know nothing about the Nobel prizes or rappers and I really need to study the periodic table. Interesting that Alex made a point of saying the game is more exciting when it's not a runaway.

    What are...spoilers?

I don't know if anyone cares about spoilers anymore (I've forgotten the last 2 days), but cute E.J. and his cheekbones win again.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

Not that I know of, and Jeopardy doesn't release contestants' ages. Ben was in my audition group. So was Ellie from the Teacher Tournament.

Oh, I got "Bottom" because my kids used to have Shakespeare character finger puppets and guess which one was their absolute favorite!!

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I said slide projector. Ugh. But I had a really good first two rounds. I thought my kid was the only person scared of butterflies, but apparently it's a thing. New champ is very good-looking. Nice cheekbones.

    What is...In the Media?

I wonder what Jennings' reaction was when he saw how the show turned out. He's a snarky guy (not to mention smart, duh) and one would think he would notice these things. Could the money really be that good for a GSN show? I didn't have him pegged for a guy who just really really wants to be on TV, but maybe I'm wrong.

    Who is... James Holzhauer?

My mom is visiting her sister (who is in her 80s and starting to suffer some cognitive decline). Mom texted me to say they were watching Jeopardy and my aunt really liked James and misses seeing him. So I'll have to make sure to let her know when ToC comes around.

    Jeopardy! Season 35 (2018-2019)

I don't know how people end up on the show still doing that. They start drilling it into your head all the way from the audition how to call categories quickly and efficiently. I was semi-spoiled for FJ. There's a Jeopardy Blind Guesser account on Twitter that invites people to guess the FJ answer based only on the category. I saw someone's guess of Taj Mahal which planted the idea in my head, and when I saw the clue I just thought "of course."

    What is...In the Media?

Yeah, I am not a patient person. I played Millionaire on the in-flight entertainment on vacation, and was annoyed because I had to wait for the "final answer?" and dramatic music and lights between questions. Jeopardy: the beer chug-a-lug of game shows.
