I know that this is an unpopular position but I’m not sure that what Xavier said was so awful. I mean basically he was telling her he wasn’t sure he was ready to commit but wanted more time. He did it in relationship to cheating but, if was telling the truth, he wasn’t a serial cheater but had a fling at the end end of his relationship. Is that still bad? Yes. Did his ex have a right to be angry? Yes. But he was telling someone who likely was sleeping with two other people that week. And had told two other men that she loved them. i think Charity was so upset because like most leads she thinks that she is entitled to decide who gets to stay or go and expects them all to agree with her feelings. So Xavier had done a bad thing by not letting her dump him earlier. Instead she sent Aaron home who she is not going to pick anyway. Xavier’s biggest problem is that someone keeps giving him a shovel.

That makes sense to me. And since Xavier left she decided to have a rose ceremony by letting Aaron fill the empty box on her dance card.

I get that the producers are trying out Aaron for mext bachelor since Xavier blew his chances but that doesn’t mean she has to let him back into the show. I’m thinking that Charity brings him to the rose ceremony unless the previews were a fakeout. I guess Charity was upset that she wouldn’t get a final rose ceremony because either she isn’t IN LOVE with Joey and Dotun like she claims or she is about to let Aaron come to the rose ceremony amd send him home. She is such a ditherer.

I’ve heard speculation that there is a new season of the Bachelorette. But it’s hard to tell since no one seems to be watching.

My biggest topic of speculation is whether i will be able to make myself watch.

That’s true. But they don’t usually give the next lead an unfavorable edit. They wait till they are the lead for that.

I think you will find that Matt is “unusually clear” only when he is criticizing Jemma.

I can’t express how impressed I was that the experts upheld MAFS ethics by not allowing Matt and Whitney to return as a MARRIED couple but only as a DATING couple. After all, after consulting the “science” (or ratings) they knew that two people who had, by the rules of the show committed adultery, were a GOOD match. And Matt and Whitney wanted their guidance (and to be on television some more). Yet they only allowed them to date rather than giving them another all paid wedding. The moral clarity was truly inspiring.

Finally watched. I can completely accept that contestants may not be as bad as they seem because we get only partial pictures of the contestants because of how much is left on the cutting room floor. But what is Vanessa’s excuse?

Seeing either Whitney or Matt seems like the opposite of fun.

When the “experts” listed the things that they needed to consider about letting mark and whitney stay i think they forgot the most crucial one: ratings.

Can anyone explain to me what exactly Whitney has done that justifies her saying she has “given so much” to the relationship. As far as I can tell all she has done is roll her eyes? It doesn’t seem all that surprising that she and Matt should be drawn together since his idea of a relationship seems to be that no one should expect anything from him.

Remind me again: who was the bachelor this season? I can’t remember a thing. 😎

Thanks. So basically the show is designed for even greater torture of contestants because they have explicitly announced that they hate each other. At least in the US they tend to pretend.

So I have a question for you veterans out there. I take this rule about how if one person says leave and the other says stay they have to try for another week. But what happens if that repeats itself? Do they get to take off their 'stranger shackles" then? Or is this a rule to make it impossible to leave unless both partners say so?

I don’t know but it seems different to me if you are in that situation and say “look, I’ve been thinking about this and I just don’t think I should sleep with any of the final three right before the decision. Does that make sense” and saying “I’ve decided for sex week that there will be no sex this week without discussing it with you.” one thing seems to me the type of thing you would say to a potential equal partner and the other seems like a one sided rule making. not to mention he did it all before the cameras as a display of his virtue. Although that of course backfired.

Thanks. I had the same impression. What was lacking was a conversation in which the two of them could discuss things rather than a simple declaration by one side out of the blue. Zach decided to be sean for a week (he couldn’t manage even that) but he didn’t think that he needed to discuss things. Agency is a buzzword granted. But i think that she was saying that a decision like that should be at least discussed between the two people.

I think that there is no question but that the show treated Gabi very cruelly. Part of it was Zach’s insensitivity and his need to make sure that Kaity didn’t get mad at him. But the show also made sure that they lingered over every moment of Gabi’s emotional upset. It’s bad enough getting rejected. It’s worse getting rejected after you “were intimate” with someone. But to have that rejection and your reaction displayed in so great detail has to be worse. People were rightly upset with Zach for following her out and trying to say what he planned. But the cameras soaked up every second and gleefully replayed it. Ariel was pissed at Zach for not treating her like an adult. And she was right. But she didn’t also have the show treating her like a spectacle.

My theory is that since they only know how to find 20 somethings they are actually picking people now and waiting 30 years for them to become the right age for senior bachelor.
