  1. I remember an ep of 9-1-1 where a mother died, the paramedic stopped CPR so the doctor could call it, and mom revived when the father placed the baby on her chest. Apparently it's a freakishly rare thing, but a thing? Wasn't Trixie involved with Hot Rich Widower? Did I miss/forget when that definitively didn't work out? I am so done with Sister Monica Joan. Even Sister Julienne rolled her eyes in exasperation; the last thing she needs is a whiny, needy toddler added to her laundry list of stress.
  2. Yeah, the first thing I thought when Little Junkie Sister inherited everything was "This bitch gonna binge HARD and probably OD. Better not let Bloom treat her when it happens or the cops might assume she botches it for the money."
  3. I hope he keeps it. It's a vehicle that I wish TV and movies would stop equating with a failed mid-life crisis.
  4. Yeah, I got that they wanted a response to the SCOTUS decision and all, but that created a forced situation of Max running around sticking his nose in the efforts of docs in other states. Although, to be honest, it fits with Max's "how can I make it worse?" style of "helping". Hah! Max is the King of Not Really Helping.
  5. Max's storyline was his usual ineffectual dumbassery. I get that they wanted to "do something" re: Roe v. Wade, but New York State acknowledges abortion as a right, so New Amsterdam will not be directly affected by it. Him being willing to learn to do a D&C was an understated and actually useful action, should he want to get hands on in the future. Wilder and her patient - look, it may suck, but patients ALWAYS have the choice on their treatment. She could have opted to not get treated at all and just ride out the time she has left, fetus or no fetus. Patients make those decisions for all kinds of reasons - to assume the woman was doing it to "make a political stand" is just rude. If she truly believes that the fetus is the equal of a human being, then she would no more abort to save her life than kill her one-day-old child to save her life. And that's her choice; let her make it. Iggy and Martin made me nostalgic for the days before the writers went insane. I need Hot Gay Dad in my TV life.
  6. Yeah, but you can reason with Louise where Gene will throw a tantrum and then get coddled by Linda, who has many of the same.. "quirks".
  7. This woman needs an actual therapist. Why does she not have one? Casey does not count, Bloom. (Really nice to see Casey again, though!)
  8. I can understand maybe going a town over where people who Knew Her When are less likely, but Shay is not a completely obvious trans woman. Random strangers will not look at her and think "T*****! Burn the witch!"
  9. God, these people are all such morons. Luna should know not to handle sharp things by now. Apparently she is NOT a big girl, Max. (How old is she supposed to be? Because my friend's 2yo knows better than to grab knives.) Iggy's speech at the end unsurprisingly missed the mark. There's no reason the kids can't put down the phones for an excursion, but there's no reason to leave on a hike without them. Just put them in the damn backpack! And kids DO need help learning how to deal with what they're exposed to on the internet. Instead of showing them how to turn off for a time and spending the hike discussing pros and cons of online activity, he just showed what a stupid idea it is to be without a phone in this day and age. Austin letting everyone get soaked and lost rather than admit to Iggy he had something with a MAP makes him an idiot too. The rest of the kids deserve a therapist who understands what "teaching kids coping skills and moderation" is. Ok, Reynolds, they all now have a mortgage at 150% of their former rent. How do you expect them to afford money for an exterminator and asbestos removal and mold removal and heating repairs ON TOP OF THAT? Great, they own it, whoop-de-do. If they could afford all that themselves, they would have done it anyways rather than wait on the landlord if it had gotten so bad they were getting life-threatening illnesses. Agency was not the issue. People who live in shitholes generally cannot afford a 50% increase in rent - if they could, they'd probably choose a less-shitty place. Max's bullshit speech about how "we don't do it to be safe" - fuck you, Max. TEN YEARS in prison! No one should be expected to accept that as a possible job risk. How about you do all the overrides and take on all the liability? Also, the woman who blew out a kidney because treatment was critically delayed because the DA terrorized the nurses with the threat of PRISON should take him to civil court. If these machines cause the exact problems they're supposed to fix, why are they still using them? At least Bloom's story this week is just your average addict family drama.
  10. Also, Wilder CAN verbalize. Maybe not for detailed patient conversations / medical orders / etc, but she can say "water" and other basic words/phrases intelligibly enough.
  11. FFS, so done with Padma's baby drama. Hire a nanny to assist. And - you have two arms, stop saying you can't hold both. Maybe you can't feed them both with bottles, but you can lie down and hold both of them skin-to-skin. I'm glad they had Austin notice she's struggling while Leila is totally oblivious to her twin's pain. I like that Devon realized that having kids with both of them working doctors would be crazy., Conrad, why are you skirting around the edges of have The Talk with Billie? You're with what's-her-face, this is not the time to go there.
  12. There's no way they'd let someone go in to drug testing wearing a lab coat with big pockets. FOR THIS EXACT REASON. Especially in a hospital where clean urine is just sitting around,
  13. She was reading a file. It's possible that she'd already downloaded it to her phone
  14. Eh, Herman did not wait. He did the exact same song and dance except he set his new office on fire in the process.
  15. I had the same question about the blue office - the washer/dryer is not just something you can move anywhere. I believe that the lieutenants share their quarters with other shifts because IIRC, Casey was bitching about his "roommate's" choice of decor at one point?
  16. Then you end up in Chicago Fire territory where people will have to get promoted out of the house or it starts getting ridiculous. They were up to a battalion chief, a captain, and three lieutenants before Casey left. Does the LAFD have intermediate ranks like lieutenant as well? That would definitely be better than med school.
  17. Why is Boden suddenly being such a d-bag to Kidd about the new guy? She went through the Academy with him; I dare say she knows more about him than Boden does just because he got a hard-on by seeing New Guy in one extraordinary situation.
  18. Yussra is the only decent actress in that storyline. Shekeb can't even believably flirt with her without awkward line readings. When the writers are giving the "homewrecker" character more sensible dialog, you know it's in trouble. She's trying to tell Shekeb that her showing up was bulllshit and apologize and Shekeb is arguing with her, No, asshole, she's right, Laila shouldn't have brought her, period.
  19. Well, if enough of them drop out, maybe they'll still fit. :)
  20. Man, Francine needs to give Paula a come-to-jesus talk if she ever wants a personal life of her own. Or if she doesn't wanted her adopted niece smothered in her sleep by Paula.
  21. She's trying to make one that will also catch crawfish, so the holes need to be smaller than your average fish basket or they'll just walk out. But I agree with her teammate that her wandering off to micromanage others will not get that basket made!
  22. Holy crap, the Latina lesbian nudist couple mom and daughter adopting - and the daughter JEALOUS of her cousin already! These two are even more incestuous than Matt and Kelly from Mama's Boy. They make a more affectionate lesbian couple than the actual lesbian couple on the show. I was impressed that the Indiana parents were so accepting of their trans daughter. Jason was just an idiot to get Angelica pregnant; now they have this baby in their hot fucking mess of a relationship that they should have walked away from AGES ago.
  23. Finally binge-watched the show (yay, sick leave?) and was reminded of Nicque Marina's take on the finale: https://youtu.be/E1HYUtrHNsc
  24. The minute Beau realized he was up against Keaton, the look on his face said he knew his time was up. Beau makes kids in an average high school musical look good. Even running it at 1.5x couldn't give his solo energy and my fat middle-aged ass can jump higher than he can. He's barely trying. Anyone know what the tapes on Keaton's shoulders are for? This is the second week I noticed them
