  1. It was probably a holdover audience from another night. At the beginning Stephen said “nothing like a Thursday crowd”. That’s his tell that it’s not actually being filmed on the day mentioned. He used to do that all the time for Friday shows that were filmed on Thursday.
  2. Actually Marvin was Julian Works (Mateo), not Raphael Silva (Carlos)
  3. The way the plaintiff only casually mentioned coronavirus as some random excuse the defendant had for cancelling the Disneyland trip (park was busy and "this coronavirius that was going on"), and no mention was made of Disneyland being closed makes me think it had to have been February or early March. It was after they were supposed to originally have the Disneyland trip which was January 2020. Disneyland was closed March 14th.
  4. I think its this chess set (Celtic vs vikings). https://www.chesshouse.com/products/celtic-vs-vikings-chess-pieces-sac-hand-decorated?sscid=51k4_7tt0t I first thought lord of the rings, switched to thinking dwarves vs elves, and then finally searched for vikings based on all the yellow hair, and found this. The celtic rook is pretty distinctive.
  5. I’m pretty sure that the “sashay” was just a mangling of “sash”. A quick google shows that “chair sash” is a reasonable thing to describe that band around the chair, particularly if there is a bow on the back.
  6. If you google her, there's apparently been other incidents as well. (As referenced by the Plaintiff in the puppy case who found a facebook page targeted at the Defendent) Its interesting, she came off a lot better in her first appearance, but no incidents with other dogs were brought up then. It just seemed like the husky had an unfortunate accident at the doggie day care, and Kelli Jo was really upset about it, and missed having the dog around (he was a regular before the cut). But there was just a communication problem, and she never knew about the Plaintiff's attempts to contact her by phone and email to talk about the vet bills. And in the end there was a pretty ironclad contract releasing the doggie day care from any liability. Its only when you add the context from the second case and the other incidents with dogs in her care that you realize she's probably a total piece of work and liar. She should have stopped while she was ahead.
  7. I think she was also the defendant in the recent dog boarding case (from this show) where the dog got a horrific gash in its paw. Yep, just went back to check the Nov 28th show. Same defendant, Kelli Jo.
  8. The detective Rick has shown up on the show before. He was the detective Athena got involved in the case with Stevie Parnell (the boy who had been abducted years ago), and he was also involved in the mail bombing case. Bobby and Athena observed him interview the bomber’s mother, so I’m sure they we’re at least introduced then.
  9. Last nights show had the feeling of being a bunch of leftover segments put together. I went and checked an old clip from Conan’s February appearance on the show and Conan and Stephen were wearing the same clothes. But I have hated all the box segments. I wish they would stop doing them.
  10. I wasn’t paying attention at the beginning of the show, and didn’t know who the guest was last night. When Trevor intro’ed the guest with “one of the most influential people of our time” I thought he was laying it on a bit thick, and wondered who could possibly live up to that into. And then it was Oprah, and I went “Oh, guess he was right”
  11. Interesting that Detective Marks is the same detective from the full moon episode, which also featured a women killing her abusive husband in self defense.
  12. The next episode is called “Chimney Begins”: “Looking back at how Chimney joined Station 118 and became the firefighter and paramedic he is today.” Maybe we’ll finally find out the story behind his nickname. But that means we won’t find out what happens to Chimney and Maddie for two weeks. I think the promo at the end of this week covered the whole rest of the season.
  13. When the iPhone came up at the end, plus a mysterious credit card, one of the defendants mentioned a business they were in together, and the phone was related to that. It must have been a messy financial situation. I think Judge Judy didn’t want to get into trying to figuring out the mess with anything to do with the business for some reason, and given the way they all responsed at the beginning they must have all agreed to that before walking in, but the plaintiff just couldn’t let it go.
  14. In this case the defendants were clearly on notice that the driveway was too wide. There was an earlier citation, and while they got that one dismissed it didn’t prevent a second citation, so clearly there are still some unresolved issues with the city.
  15. Bikes, I know bikes. Plaintiff was out of gas from the start because buying a used bike is just as much of a crap shoot as a used car, maybe more because people do switch out the stock parts, even something like the fork. More so with high-end bike because serious riders can be finicky. There’s no guarantee that every part on a 4 year old used bike would be the same as what the manufacturer says (sometimes the bike store even switches things out before they sell it for the first time.) The Plaintiff needed to look directly at the bike and made sure that everything on the bike when she was buying it met her needs. And buying a bike without riding it, I can’t fathom that.
