  1. I am not sentimental about these performers, and I am glad as all getout that Paulie crapped out. Seeing he and Cara cry is just icing on the cake. They have been just cringeworthy all season long. I can only hope they break up in the off-season so she can hate on him like she has to Kyle in some future season (though, I really think she ought to retire and get on with real life).
  2. It was only two seasons or so ago when Cara was the face of the show; she was the one chosen to present the crossover questions between commercials. Now she is so toxic I can't think anyone could still like her. Maybe she needs some time off. Maybe like Johnny, she needs to retire. I don't like most of the Brits, because, as Kam said, I can't understand them, but it nice to see new faces. Kenny, Coral, Mark and Eric and many others don't compete anymore. These old faces need to go, too.
  3. I truly missed this show. I can only guess that the writers have a blast writing for this show with little or no interference of the insults they can create for the characters. With this show and Game of Thrones soon finishing, I'll be a little less happy in the future.
  4. A bit off this week's show, but I'm seeing stuff on Steve Moore, and I've been wracking my brain to remember where I've seen him before. Hasn't been on Real Time a number of times?
  5. Any episode in which Amanda gets the boot is a good one in my book.
  6. A bit of a yawner. Weak cast, and Bill seems as if he couldn't get out of the first interview fast enough.
  7. Milogate? Remember, that was only about a year ago. Good panel, bad Maher, as usual. He is truly a bloviator. McCabe may someday get a medal for his work. As for Maher, let him go back to Cannibal Women …, when his acting was better.
  8. Another night of an insufferable Maher. He calls himself a progressive, but he's really a conservative pretending to advance liberal causes. His bullshit about Israel not victimizing Palestinians is just beyond the pale. But it is in line with his long-term anti-Islamism.
  9. I am glad that Wes made it. I thought that in the current stream, with Ashley, John and CT eliminated in successive weeks, that this was Wes' turn. I would rather support some of the old-timers over these fool Brits. Cara and Paulie have to go, soon.
  10. Actually, Cara was once an underdog and was mistreated by some of the cast, back in her earlier days. She was likeable and a little goofy then. As I said in an earlier thread, I'd like production to pull Abram off of his ranch in Montana or wherever and bring him in - then there would be some really fun fireworks!
  11. Cara has not aged well. Her closeups look terrible. The clown look makeup was quirky years ago, but now it just looks bad. I could certainly have lived without production filming her ass hanging out of her thong, too. Soon enough, I will not be able to understand any of the contestants, since all we will be left with are mumbly-mouthed Brits.
  12. I liked the French guy - he didn't give in to Bill's bullshit. And he is right - our failure to intervene in Syria in 2011 created ISIS and the huge immigration problem (as millions fled the civil war) that has fueled right-wing politics in Europe and America.
  13. I had to turn on closed captioning to understand most of the Brit's speech. It sure isn't Received Pronounciation - most likely Midlands/Yorkshire or Cockney.
  14. Don't kid yourselves about Jenna - she has a great ass, which the program has consistently highlighted. Hell, it even had a beauty contest a few seasons back where she twirled to the amusement of Banana's cousin/whatever. That is all she has even been to this production.
  15. That elimination was far from being great, but I join in the general acclaim and joy that Ashley is gone.
  16. After his short discussion with Eric Idle, Maher just ignored him for the rest of the show. He could have exited stage right and we would have little known of it.
  17. Let's have some real fun and bring back Abram as a mercenary or heavy hitter or whatever!
  18. Maher must have creamed his jeans when the end of the shutdown was announced; it made the show more relevant. Coulter mentioned that she had no slime in her pool - so her cleaner must be really good, since I can only imagine the amount of slime that clings to her body daily. Anyone notice the toothpick legs she has? I never noticed that before. I was delighted by Bill's Sam Drucker reference to Trump's comments. Sam was the first character I thought of, too! Sorry folks, but I have to agree with Bill on comic books. I read my share as a kid, but I would never read them as an adult. They don't have the depth or length to really explore their characters and stories. And comic book movies are mostly just awful - insipid CGI garbage. They are pure money grabbers and bad cinema. Robert Downey Jr. was once a respectable actor, once. Not now.
  19. The scene in Walmart was terrific. The tension and panic rose so very fast, and when Hays found his daughter, he responded with anger and his daughter cried, just as she should have. Simple but authentic.
  20. Of all the big-mouth right-wing phonies, Ann Coulter is the phoniest. I have heard her speak too many times, and I cannot recall ever feeling even once that she actually believed what she said. Her only goal is to sell more terrible books and gathering fees for appearances. She is a grifter in a time of grifters. Maher should be ashamed to have her on his show and give her a forum for her horrid opinions.
  21. I am most impressed with the character's makeup. He looks absolutely authentic at each age. I don't know much about Ali, so I assume the 1990 character is his real face, but the 2015 character looks real, too.
  22. Also, I don't recall anyone telling Ray that his daughter had just married Smitty Donovan. Or did I miss it?
  23. Well, I studied James Joyce in college, so any mention of his work gets a shoutout from me. Plus, the ending of The Dead fits well with the montage of the living and the dead, though that stuff hanging on Ray's face sure wasn't snow. Like everyone else, I am mystified that folks in Queens are upset about their neighbor running a chainsaw all night, and floodlights in the backyard, too. I hope this show returns to LA next season. NYC is just not the place for it. I was constantly amazed how these family members knew spots all over the five boroughs (meet me on Constance St.), having not lived there previously. Anyone I've met from the City knows their neighborhood, maybe their borough, but are lost like any other person elsewhere.
  24. Two consecutive weeks of touchbacks to the late 1980's. Dirty Dancing and Rick Ashley were nearly simultaneous in time and alike in pop culture. Sandy gets the best lines! Smitty Donovan! The car scene was pretty good.
  25. At this rate, we need a Ray Donovan/Homeland mashup, in order to reach peak preposterousness. Ray starts fixing problems for the President of the United States, while having a bondage themed affair with Carrie, while they join forces to put away a case of Jameson a day. Bridget and her coke dealing BF become Carrie's live in nannies. Bunchy becomes Secret Service Agent with a permanent Bring Your Daughter to Work day. Terry stages bare knuckle fights in the Rose Garden. Mick becomes White House Press Secretary, and regularly pulls hold ups on network new personalities. This is a great idea! Showtime, make it happen! Happy New Year everybody!
