  1. I thought the same thing. She should have removed that little tab. And also: Were we supposed to believe this was the first time the kids ever saw Rebecca & Jack arguing? That’s very unrealistic, even for this show. And their reaction was ridiculous.
  2. Agreed! And who decides what's age-appropriate and what's not?
  3. I've had several similar experiences. When my son had to go to the ER, my BIL called his friend (who is a surgeon), and asked him to meet us there. A few months ago, I went to the ER myself, and a friend called a mutual friend of ours who is a physician, and he showed up and was very helpful. I didn't find it at all unbelievable that David would go. He has his own patients, but he's not busy 24/7. Clearly he was available, and he went. That didn't seem at all out of the ordinary to me.
  4. I thought the opening was beautiful and powerful. It made me cry, but in a cleansing kind of way. I actually watched just that part over and over a few times. Beautifully done. I agree. And I don't need shows to be 100% accurate in this regard. Even with giving a serious nod to the pandemic, it's still supposed to be entertaining, and I appreciate not getting bogged down in every nuance of proper protocol in the real world. Out of all the shows I watch, this one really kept a nice balance. (No medical shows ever show the mundane details that would make them more real. I'm totally fine suspending disbelief. It's a TV drama, not a documentary. Some shows are ridiculous because of the glaringly obvious errors, but this was real enough for me that I didn't find myself eye-rolling throughout.)
  5. Jack used absolutely terrible judgment. Rebecca was having difficulty turning around in the car, so what if she had said it was too difficult & painful for her to drive? He would have had to drive. Drunk. With newborn babies and his wife in the car. I don't understand the worship of him either. Telling her he had that shot does not make him honorable. If he really felt he needed a drink, he could have waited until they got home. He put the lives of all of them in danger, and seemed to think "problem solved" when she ended up driving and he then confessed. If I were Rebecca, I would be furious. Agree with you re Jack. He's not interesting, and I'd far prefer to see more present-day than a constant rehashing of the early days of Jack & Rebecca. For me, they're the weak link in this show.
  6. That was exactly my reaction. This wasn't, "Let's all gather round and hear who won the Christmas raffle!" This was about a serious, highly responsible position. Certainly there would have been one-on-one conversation(s) about it, not only to make the offer and discuss specifics, but also to see if the chosen candidate even wanted it. Not all doctors - even very good ones - would. I know an ED doctor who turned down the same opportunity. It's an extremely personal and weighty decision. And even in positions that don't deal so closely with life & death, candidates are more involved in the process than simply showing up for an announcement. I have to suspend disbelief a lot with this show, but this was really glaring. It just made Will look ignorant and naive.
  7. I'll be sitting right there with you. If it was live, you would have a point. But this was taped. Clips that are relevant to the discussion are often inserted during editing. Kiko is adorable. He really does seem to be a kind soul.
  8. There's a very big difference between being a straight-talker and being an outright, deliberately oppositional bitch. I know many Italian people, and have spent time in Italy. Overwhelmingly, they are all very warm and gracious. Of course they each have different personalities, but even those who are more straight-shooters don't come anywhere near behaving the way she does. And putting that aside, this is a work situation and Hannah is very clearly her superior. So it's completely unacceptable. I can't stand Hannah, but this is not on her at all. Lara is a bitchy problem stew who started challenging her and being disrespectful right from the start. Hannah shouldn't have to adjust to Lara. Lara's job entails taking orders from Hannah, and if she doesn't like that and is intent on being a pain in the ass, then she needs to go.
  9. I agree. I can't stand Hannah - to the point that I nearly didn't watch this season when I heard she was back. BUT this Lara absolutely has me on Hannah's side. And even I can see pretty clearly that Hannah is not the villain here, not by a long shot. When she told Sandy she'd rather be one person down than continue to work with Lara, I thought that was not only pretty strong, but also understandable. If I were Hannah, I would have lost my temper big time by now. And it would take a lot of restraint for me not to throw Lara overboard. She's practically daring Hannah to do something drastic. What an entitled bratty bitch she is!
  10. Well, yes of course it could be. But that could be said about anything anyone says or does on these type of shows. I think if we're going to talk about what we see, our opinions of the various people, etc, we have to pretty much ignore how much production does or doesn't intervene, and just go with it as is. Otherwise, thinking that Jenna is a jerk or Adam is a good/bad chef, or Sandy is a good/bad captain has no validity at all. All we can judge is what we see, and I think that's a more fun and better way to watch. JMO.
  11. Absolutely! That was a line that needed to be drawn immediately. I understand wanting to be liked, and wanting everyone to get along, but she should not have let it go even once. Right from the start, the crew should know that she must be treated with respect. She didn't do herself or any of them any favors when she didn't tell him the very first time that it's not appropriate. A good crew needs a respected leader, and if she doesn't step up and assert herself, the fallout will be her own fault. She could have said it in a friendly but firm manner. Or she could have spoken to him privately afterward. But letting it go - repeatedly - shows poor management skills. I like her and I want her to do well, but I was really disappointed she didn't say a word to him when clearly it was an issue.
  12. Yes, like a 14-year old middle school student being possessive of a first boyfriend. Her level of immaturity was truly astounding (in this way and others). Yes, I wish Madison had been more articulate and less emotional at the reunion, but I really did feel her pain and frustration. I also agree that she seems to be a kind person, and Jenna does not. Another big difference between them is that, despite what was going on, Madison was pretty focused on doing her job and getting done what needed to be done. She didn't lose sight of why she was there, even when she was clearly being over-worked, disrespected, and demeaned. As opposed to Jenna, who thought her new romance with Adam meant she could focus just on him and over-burden her staff with the actual work.
  13. I wasn't really a fan of either of them during the show, especially Ciara,, but I started to like them both a bit more toward the end. And I thought they were very cute together at the reunion. They really seemed very connected and happy. In the midst of the others arguing and yelling and blaming each other, Paget smiling and Ciara laughing really stood out. It was lovely to see, I disagree too. Jenna was a horrible chief stew. She was 100% focused on Adam, and was not respectful to her staff. She proudly acted like a mean girl, clearly in an attempt to impress/entertain/amuse Adam. Several times she and Adam talked about them in demeaning ways, laughing at them. She was a terrible supervisor in every way. I don't know if she's usually like this, or if her desperation to have Adam like her made her act that way, but it's inexcusable. Not the way a supervisor should act, and certainly not the way a grown woman should act. She came across as pathetic and needy and mean. I agree! That definitely should have been brought up. She was completely unprofessional, and once he spoke to her, she acted like a brat, running to Adam to complain about how angry she was. Glenn should have been much harder on them, IMO. A lot of what they did was clearly not okay, and he witnessed some of it with his own eyes. I really wanted him to grow a pair and be more forceful. She's an entitled bitch. Instead of saying to Adam, "Hey, babe, the Captain spoke to me. I think we need to tone it down", she went on a rant about how angry she was. Poor Jenna! Everyone was getting in the way of her Adam time! It didn't seem to matter to her that she was there to work. I don't know how she can watch this season and not want to crawl under a rock.
  14. I agree 100%. There wasn't just the likelihood of f-bombs and sex talk, but also a chance that wineglasses would be thrown. Having the kids and their friends right there, apparently easily within earshot, made no sense to me. What exactly did Denise think would happen? They would all have a leisurely, quiet, respectable dinner, and then go home? She knows what this show is about, she knows these women, and she knows how these events go. Under normal circumstances, in my (for example) normal life, yes - Of course people would be on their at least somewhat best behavior if kids were around. But this is not normal life. This is reality TV. Denise knew exactly what was likely to happen, so she gets no sympathy from me.
  15. I think the location was the major factor. Rebecca wanted to spend whatever quality time she had left with her family, not far away from them for such a long time. At the end of 9 months she could deteriorate significantly. My understanding was that she didn't want to take a chance on wasting that precious time. There is no family in St. Louis, or anywhere even close to being near. I'm sure it looked to her as though she'd be leaving everything she loved, possibly (at least the way her brain would process it) forever. She wanted to hang onto what she had, and not walk away from it for such a long time. A lot can happen in 9 months, and I think she wanted to be with her family while she was at her best, not wasting that precious time so far away for so long.
  16. That's exactly what she does - She drags viewers into her distress. I think it's pretty clear that whining and complaining has been a an effective way of getting attention, probably her whole life. I have no idea why she thinks it's a good look. It just makes her look like childish. She has zero impulse control and a burning desire to let the world know when she's not entirely happy or entirely comfortable. As if anyone cares!
  17. Every unkind word, shady comment, and angry tweet from Trump absolutely should be noted and discussed. What possible larger context has there been for any of the disgusting insults he has hurled at dedicated public servants, war heroes, the disabled, anyone else for that matter? The "rhyme or reason" he has for saying those things IS because he's a meany-head. And because he's so childish that he believes denigrating others makes him look better. Everything he says and everything he does is completely self-serving. And it needs to be called out, not swept under the rug. This has nothing to do with negative stereotypes of women. Men in the media are taking note of every insult and every bit of immature behavior too, and they're talking about it constantly. It's newsworthy and it matters. There is no dignity anymore. There is no respect and there is no leadership. What we have is a cowardly man-baby who acts as though he's on an elementary school playground. All bluster, no substance. And every damn word he says is newsworthy and should not be minimized, excused, or ignored.
  18. Yes, that's a good example of what she does. She has zero impulse control. If she thinks something, she says it - no matter when, appropriate or not. She truly seems to believe that anything she has to say, no matter how minor, is more important than what anyone else has to say. (If the drilling was bothering or distracting her, all she had to do was wait for a commercial break and then address it with the stage manager or producer. Anyone with the tiniest bit of professionalism would know to do that rather than blurt it out and interrupt someone else who was speaking.)
  19. It's outrageous to think that Joy would have deliberately done something so unkind. I'm sure she simply misspoke. As I've said here before, I know Joy and I've known her for a long time. There's not any way she would have "poked the bear" like that. Absolutely not.
  20. I didn't really like her, but I would certainly take her back now. I thought she was annoying at times, but she was pleasant and a team player. I don't recall her ever being disrespectful to a co-host or to the audience. I wanted her gone too, though, and look what we got instead! 😲 It's not unfair at all. There's no comparison between what she does and what the others do. They all talk over each other, but the others know how to dial it back. When called out on it, they retreat. Unlike Meghan who continues to interrupt, continues to interject, and carries on as though her words carry such importance that what she has to say should override everyone else. She is rude and disrespectful on a daily basis, and completely consumed with her own self-importance. The others pretty much stick to the topic at hand, and they let the conversation take a natural flow. Meghan interrupts to derail the conversation. She complains the topic isn't relevant to her, or she jumps in to say that someone just mentioned is her best friend who she knows from wherever for however many years and blah blah blah, or she complains about how exhausting her job is, or she insults the audience. She thinks she's an expert on everything. Except things she's not interested in - and she doesn't think those topics should be discussed at all. Because she wants it all to revolve around her, and she has no patience if that doesn't happen. You're right - It is supposed to be a conversation. She doesn't want that. She wants a monologue. She wants the rest of them (and all of us) to kneel at her feet as she imparts her vast amounts of wisdom. She truly thinks she's more intelligent, more educated, more knowledgeable, and more special than anyone else. That comes thru loud and clear every single day. She's obviously so sensitive and easily offended that everything becomes an argument. The pouting! The whining! The crossing of her arms! The tortured sighs! The muttering under her breath! She behaves like a self-centered child, and she is clearly unqualified and unwilling to have any kind of meaningful conversation. I've really lost patience with her. She rambles on and on, and I absolutely hate it when her questions are a thousand words longer than the answer. We want to hear the GUEST speak, not listen to her never-ending word salads. She is probably a nice person in real life, but she talks way too much for someone who really doesn't have anything to say.
  21. No, Charlize didn't understand it at all. And she was lovely about it - very kind and polite. Abby has terrible communication skills
  22. There's a way to approach a topic without being overtly and obnoxiously rude. Meghan's behavior was disgraceful. She was insulting and dismissive, and she kept turning away and making disgusted faces. That's not the way to have an intelligent conversation about anything with anyone. It's certainly possible to ask direct, hard-hitting questions and be cordial at the same time. He did nothing to deserve the way she treated him.
  23. Exactly. A big part of her job is facilitating conversation that can actually be heard. No one wants to listen to people talking over each other, and that was always one of Barbara's pet peeves when she watched from home. It was completely appropriate for Whoopi to reel it in and shut it down. Was she maybe overly forceful? Sure. But I don't blame her a bit. The others tone it down and allow each other to speak when Whoopi asks them to. Meghan continues to interrupt and argue. She's constantly disrespectful, and apparently being blunt is the only way to effectively communicate with her. Whoopi put it into language that was easy to understand. Stop talking. And stop behaving like that. (Her comment about behaving was my favorite part! It really, really, really needed to be said.) 🙂
  24. I don't see it either. She's extremely one-note and superficial. And close-minded. Close-minded people are not at all nuanced. That was hilarious! What really makes me laugh is that she interrupts so often, not to actually contribute to the conversation but to talk about herself. "I don't have children! I have nothing to add to this conversation! It's not interesting to me!". Or, "I'm a political analyst!" They all interrupt each other all the time, but at least they're saying something relevant to the conversation. She just jumps in with all of these asides, attempting to bring the conversation to a screeching halt so she can ramble on about herself. She's so focused on herself that she can't have a decent conversation or even let other people have one. It's bizarre that she is so consistently rude and disrespectful. And that she has such an overly inflated sense of her own importance. I wonder if her brothers and sisters are like that too. Or is she the only brat in the family?
  25. I agree. The backlash was quick and strong. Twitter was overflowing with people saying they would never buy anything from Hallmark again, etc. They made a big mistake, and only backtracked because they pretty much had to. I don't give them any props at all for that. The pulled the commercial in the first place, and that's the bottom line to me. They certainly didn't have a change of heart for the right reasons. I have never known anyone with so little self-awareness. That bitch is one of a kind. I feel sorry for her family. She must be just horrid to be around. I didn't see Whoopi putting Joy in her place. She was trying to untangle the conversation when they were all speaking, but it was crystal clear that she was razor-sharp focused on Meghan. It really is! She's such a baby. What a pouting, stupid thing for a grown woman to say! But it most definitely would be a gift. I'm hoping now that she feels unloved and unappreciated at The View, and that she takes her ball and goes home. Dare we hope for a Christmas/Chanukah miracle?!
