  1. He was also in the flashbacks in Sandwich King. Overall, this was a pretty strong episode. My favorites were Shonda, Wine and Cheese Night and Bank Robbery. Sandwich King was the only true misfire. Although WU was short, it was still a highlight, as it usually is. Josh Brolin was excellent. I would be down to see him come back and eventually make it into the five-timers club.
  2. I thought was an average, maybe a little above episode. There wasn't a lot of laugh out loud moments, but there really too many stinkers either, just the wedding makeup sketch and the cold open. The highlights were Air Bud, Bowen's short, and the NYPD sketch. Weekend Update (outside of Heidi's misfire) was great. Sweeney was a pretty solid host. I think she could host a really strong episode with some better writing. I enjoyed both Kacey Musgraves songs.
  3. They announced the first two shows of March. Sydney Sweeney/Kacey Musgraves on the 2nd, and Josh Brolin/Ariana Grande on the 9th.
  4. McHurry! Thank you Brian Dietzen & Sam Williams for giving us one Tony/McGee moment. I was hoping for Gibbs, as I'm sure we all were, but still it was nice seeing Tony again. I love that Ducky's dog was named Solo, and I will certainly choose to believe it was a nod to David's for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. co-star Robert Vaughan. Overall, a nice tribute.
  5. Regarding Barbie, I haven't seen enough of the other movies yet to know how it should be compared to the rest of the field, but I do feel that Robbie and Gosling both gave award worthy performances. Robbie's performance, in particular, I think held that movie together in a way I'm not sure a lot of actors would have been able to do. I think it's a very underrated performance. America Ferrera, on the other hand, I think was closer to giving a Razzie level performance than one worthy of an Oscar. I don't understand that nomination at all. As for Gerwig, I think she had a better claim to a directing nomination more so than a writing one as I feel its screenplay is what kept it from a being a great film as opposed to the good one it turned out to be. All that said, I hate that the discourse over these so-called snubs have overshadowed so much from the nominations that should be celebrated, especially Lily Gladstone's historic nomination.
  6. I think they were paired together because they both played divas on nighttime soaps. I know they can't include everyone in the memoriam package, but not having David Soul was disappointing.
  7. So....essentially it's Sucession, Beef & The Bear. Not unusual for the Emmys to have sweeps
  8. I enjoyed Driver's monologue, the Old Friends short, the chocolate home shopping sketch and Baby Plane. WU wasn't at its best, but it still had some great stuff, my favorites being when Che pulled out the popcorn and Jost being blurred out on January 6th. I like Julia Stiles, but I don't think I've seen that film, so the joke was lost on me. Driver is a good host, gives his all and seems up for anything. I don't think it's on him that this was mostly just an okay episode. He should join the five timers club soon enough. Olivia Rodrigo is probably my favorite of the hugely popcorn female singers that dominate the music scene these days. I enjoyed both of her performances.
  9. The reality is that none of the actors they've hired to play Americans have done particularly well with their accents, including the regular cast members. Are we supposed to think it's cute that Evie took DeShawn's lunch? Overall I did like the episode, though, probably my favorite so far.
  10. The thing I noticed was just how short both of her songs were. Were they even five minutes combined? Highlights included Pete's monologue, the Wired sketch, the PDD video (especially Mulaney bombing), Weekend Update and the beach sketch. Overall, I thought it was a pretty fun opener, and I was really happy just to see the show return again. Lastly, the cold open was perfect.
  11. I think Allison was probably kicking herself at the end of the game for going to the top of that final category in Double Jeopardy instead of looking for the second Daily Double that was still on the board. I think she's a good candidate for the Second Chance tournament
  12. I'm still processing how I feel about this episode and contemplating on whether I'll view this as a great finale or a bit of a letdown. There were a number of thinks I did love, though. -The scenes with the siblings at their mother's house, followed by the complete opposite vibe we got at the board vote. -Tom and Greg's little slap fight in the bathroom. -Logan's dinner and the kids reaction to watching their father. -Colin following Kendall around, like father like son. -"New Jess!, New Jess!"
  13. I thought the season was overall a mixed bag, but the finale was damn near perfect, imo. I think I liked it more than the other big finale that aired tonight. I also laughed quite a bit during this episode and I can't quite understand the suggestions that it lacked humor.
  14. At this point, I think the producers view Schooled as being off on in their own completely unrelated universe. I doubt they view anything on that show as being cannon in terms of The Goldbergs. I thought Rob Corddry and Wendi Mclendon-Covey had very good chemistry which helped immensely with that plot. Of course the last episode would feature one character not being able to keep their nose out of another character's love life, only this time it was Adam instead of the usual Beverly. Although much of what we saw was reasonable for a final episode, I do wish the show had gotten the chance to do a proper series finale. I think even with all its issues in recent years, it was still worthy of that.
  15. Eight years out of the game and apparently drinking a lot of beer as led to Barry getting a Dad bod. I like that little detail. That Barry would resort to watching truther videos to pass the time while Sally was watching her nightmare of Sally having the career that she thought she was supposed to have rang true to me. And of course, Gene can't stay on the sideline when the inevitable Barry film gets made. It wasn't one of my favorite episodes, but I have a feeling my opinion of it will improve when viewed in context of this season as a whole. Lastly, I may be going to hell for this, but Barry's search for Little League Deaths gave me the single biggest laugh I've had this season.
  16. I've come to the conclusion that I'm Team Willa.
  17. She does look a bit different, but that was Alexis G Zall, who played Jackie returning in last week's episode. She posted about her appearance on Instagram.
  18. It wasn't a great episode or anything, but I did get a kick out of seeing Adam's old girlfriends give it back to Beverly. I also enjoyed seeing Geoff actually being involved in a JTP plot. Matt Bradley's "I don't talk about it, but I get a lot of action" aside gave me a big laugh, as did Erica's "we'll never be like that, as long as you don't pull away from me" to Muriel when she was feeding her.
  19. Stephanie Szostak should seriously consider suing the wardrobe department for having to wear some of the wigs they put her in on national television.
  20. I mostly liked it too. Red and Kitty did do a lot of the heavy lifting, but the teens got better as the season went on. definitely think Leia is her father's daughter. I thought they did a good job there. I'd watch a second season.
  21. This was an interesting episode for me in that I don't think there was anything that would be a candidate to make my Best of the Season list, but at the same time there wasn't anything close to a dud, either. It was almost as if was 90 minutes of solid singles & doubles. That's definitely not a bad thing, though, given the possible alternatives.
  22. It was a little too long, but still very enjoyable. The two leads had great chemistry and did a terrific job of playing off each other. I feel like you need to watch this a few times just to get all the 90's pop culture references.
  23. Marge guilt tripping Homer into buying a $1,500 bike for a birthday present is...certainly something. I did like Marge's version of Bart's opening credits bike ride. Fat Tony's line about serving jury duty while being in prison made me laugh a lot than it probably should have.
  24. The version of "Beauty and the Beast" that got released as a single and became a top 10 hit on the Billboard 100 was a duet (Peabo Bryson & Celine Dion) which is why it was my first guess as well. I realized the year was wrong and that led me to "A Whole New World." Luigi's FJ wager definitely didn't make any sense. I guess he just had no confidence in that category? I'm glad he qualified for the next ToC.
