She's also gotten a foot shorter. She used to fill a doorway. (Edit: At a distance she's played by Amazon Eve, who is 6'8", but up close they have her being about eye-level with whoever she's talking to if it's a man.) Here's the first time we see her whole face. Currently, she has a right ear, hair on the left, the eye is up higher, the growth over the nose is gone, and the marks on the neck are gone.

Why doesn't Shelley glow anymore?

I've only watched 3x1. Man, Shelley' makeup is TERRIBLE this season. Why???

I don't know if this counts as a spoiler or not because although it was attributed to GRRM I'm starting to suspect people just make stuff up and attribute it to him, but apparently Tyrells: I feel like Loras and Margery are both marked for death. If I were writing it: The winning triumvirate would be Dany as queen, because she makes a good figurehead, with the dragon thing and all; Tyrion as Hand, because he's awesome; Jon putting together all the silly private armies and building a national force to defend against the Others. Of course, if I were writing it, I woulda killed Sansa two books ago. She bores me. ETA: "Dead Lannisters" will be the name of my Paul & Storm cover band.

Natural color usually works best. I think they shoulda lightened her eyebrows for Dany.

Well, I could go on about sociopathic traits he does and doesn't have, but he's a fictional character he'll never add up completely. Risk-taking is the hallmark of a sociopath, because the true sociopath has a malformed amygdala and can't feel fear. Frank does feel fear, so what I think he's got is learned sociopathic traits. His amygdala seems to work just fine. They're also not able to feel guilt, which he does (look at Freddy) but he denies and suppresses it.

About Tyrion and Sansa: Yes, he saw her as nothing but a pretty highborn girl but he only ever tried to protect her in his own way. He had the whole kingdom crashing around him and she was far from his biggest problem. He was just like, "Oh, leave the poor girl alone. Okay, FINE, I'll marry her if I really have to." He was forced to marry her and give up the woman he loved, and I think he was a lot kinder to her than most people would be in that situation. I know if I were forced to marry someone I would resent them no matter how innocent they were. I've been expecting that she will end up being the wardeness of the North. Hopefully she will acquire some leadership ability from somewhere. I think GRRM is done killing Starks for now. He killed three and turned one into a tree. I think he's going to prune the Lannister tree some more next.

I expect him to get through the whole series. He's been one of the major plot lines. He's also the reader's view of the Others, the free folk, and the Wall, and it would be silly to kill him off at this point. And

Great, now I have to re-read the first book to see when Ned refers to Jon as his son and when he refers to him as his blood. Sounds like he's referred to as the Storm Lord in book three, too.

The Baratheons in general are called Storm Lords.

Actually there several candidates for Jon's mother. I don't know if you have them all yet; I'm not sure when they are each introduced. They're listed here if you want to know. I think there should be a betting pool. I get confused over who was who in the stories about the past too. The first time I read it I just skimmed over all the past stuff like I do in "Lord of the Rings," but it's turning out to be important. :( PS. You think being called the Unsullied is bad? What about us Bookwalkers - named after the ultimate evil in the books!

Hmm, I need to read SotL again some time. I don't remember much of the victims' characters. In the movie, I think they did a good job considering it was only a movie and you can't explore every character, but Clarice going though Frederica's bedroom made us think of Frederica at least as a real, complex person. The book Hannibal was over the top, and I liked things about it - I liked Hannibal's whole Italy story. But Clarice was so well-drawn in SotL, she was a real let-down in Hannibal. I would have liked to see one more sequel where she came back to herself and killed him or turned him in or just ran for it.

The worst is the guy playing Norman Godfrey. Compared to him, the rest of them are brilliant. He's just painful to watch.

Oh, it's episode 7 of season 2. It is a little meandering and the teenage vampire is not a good actor. The werewolf is much better.

Disappointed they got someone so much younger to be the body double. I wish they'd used someone Lena's age.

It was episode 7. It's definitely canon that they have a threesome one time, but whether it would have continued we don't know.

So, has anyone read the books?

I just finished watching this last night. I have to wonder what Claire expected from all this. Did she think the first lady has the same power as the president? I'm glad she asked "What's all this for," but I wish she'd questioned his answer, "The White House." That's meaningless. He wants power but power to do what? What's the objective? Nothing: Frank sees power as an end in and of itself, and Clair has been married to him 28 years and should have understood that. In fact I thought she was the same. That legislation she introduced seemed to be all about getting herself in the public eye and establishing her influence. Her objective in being UN ambassador seemed to be being the UN ambassador. If she was re-evaluating that whole outlook, why didn't she talk to Frank about it instead of just walking out?

Re-reading this book, I am really struck by how abusive Cersei is towards Jaime. There are so many people with so much motivation to strangle her. TV Cersei is downright cuddly compared to Book Cersei. And Tywin was right, she's not half as smart as she thinks she is.

Somehow I think "When your tears have drowned you" refers to a specific time, as it's in the future perfect tense. "When your tears have drowned you." After your tears have drowned you, then the vaolonquar will choke the life from you. I'm at the point in the book where we just met Kevan Lannister. Tywin's younger brother. Tears of Lys. But they're fatal, so if she took it no one would need to choke her.
