I saw this on Reddit. Josiah and Lauren and their 3 kids are on the right hand side. James blurred the faces of Lauren and the kids, which Redditors were praising James for, since he was honoring their choice to step away from SM.

Everyone’s faces look blurred, to me!

  2. I just unknowingly and stupidly spent $386.00 for tickets for a program that promotes a religious cult.

I watch a lot of YouTube.  And I have recently received a lot of advertisements on YouTube for this Chinese ballet production.  It looked like something I really wanted to see so I watched the entire ad, which was quite long and showed the strict and strenuous training of these dancers.

I was very excited about them coming to Seattle and I quickly purchased two really good tickets.  $180.00 each plus $26.00 ticket fees.  Really good seats in the Seattle Opera house.

I have never been to a professional ballet, or opera, and I was so excited.  Then further reading about the dance company, Shen Yen, says the owner is a cult leader who actually donated big money to the Trump campaign and was somehow involved in the lies about Hilary Clinton.

The dancers aren’t even necessarily from China but instead are from all over the world.  They are headquartered in rural New York.

The tickets are non-refundable so of course we will go and enjoy the ballet and acrobatics. Even though some reviewers say the show really pushes their beliefs.

Has anyone else ever gone to a Shen Yen ballet and what did you think of it?

Did Phillip's bible school send the right student back to the barndo for Christmas? I would never have recognized Phil without the rest of the Rods there. How does Jill not see the change and worry what people think of her and David's parenting?

He’s still wound up tightly, though.  Look at how clenched his left hand is!  I’ve seen him do that before.

Wow Jill has long hair! I wish I could grow my hair out like that!

Yes, but remember a few years back when she claimed long hair gave her terrible migraines?  I guess not anymore?

She looks very “Little House On The Prairie “ in that photo.

People actually get joint replacements in the morning and are back at home for dinner.

My double hip replacement surgery was from 2:25 to 5p.m.  That’s the actual cutting to close time from my surgeon’s notes.  I was back home by 9 p.m., with an hour drive.  I was offered a bed and my surgeon said he didn’t expect me to go home that day but I did everything the therapist said and was able to go home.  I did have one low-blood pressure episode as soon as I got home, which was scary.  Luckily they sent me home with a thick canvas strap still around my waist and hubby was able to get me back to laying flat quickly.  I was also sent home with two hip wrap ice machines and great follow up, including calls and messages from my nurse navigator.

The older children (Nurie, Kaylee, Tim, and Nathan, Jonathan, and Heidi) aren't going to be at the barndo for Christmas this year.

    1. How does one-burnt-ham Jill have a pantry and refrigerator full this Christmas?

    2. Who paid for all the food with Nathan, Jonathan, and Tim away?

I bet grandma (David’s mom) sent a check for the food).  Jill didn’t say grandma and grandpa so maybe she finally remembered the other grandma this year.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.  I'm a week post-op from the knee replacement and doing ok, each day a little better than the last.  I am having much less pain overall this time, which is a blessing.  I don't know if it is because I knew what to expect this time or because the surgical team has gotten to be very pro-active in this area and did a lot of pre-op and post-op assessment and came up with a really comprehensive plan this time around, but it is definitely much better.  I've got no stamina and can fall asleep randomly throughout the day, but am doing ok.  One of my sisters has been spending the night here as well as checking in during the day as have a bunch of friends, which is great.  I actually told them I could use a little more downtime by myself, I'm not used to having people hanging around 24/7 but its great to know there are people who I can call on if needed.  PT is all in-home for first 3 weeks and covered 100% by insurance, so that is working out with minimal effort, too.

Good for you for getting through that first week and even getting some sleep!  Last year I had double hip replacement surgery and I barely slept those first two weeks.  I wasn’t used to back sleeping and everything tasted and smelled awful.  It wasn’t until the fourteen day when I stopped taking the narcotic that I started feeling better and could eat normally and stopped feeling dizzy.

I also had wonderful insurance with the home OT and PT. Best part was even though Google said it could cost $64,000 for a double, I only had to pay the $75.00 outpatient surgery copay. That included OT, PT and all follow-up visits and X-rays for six weeks.

I’ve heard that knees are a harder recovery than hips, which seem to have become drive-by surgery! Remember the mantra of elevate, ice, rest and lots of protein for recovery!  Protein shakes helped me immensely when food looked horrible.

Back when they were really struggling, I seem to remember Jill telling a story about some ice cream that was about to be thrown out or very recently so, and she described, in great detail, how she retrieved it and how much she enjoyed the treat and didn't share it with anyone.  So I'd imagine Jill gets what Jill wants at all times. And if anyone else benefits,  it's only because of her.

Jill posted a photo of the thrown away carton of ice cream.  Really, it was only gross melted sludge left on the bottom.  I doubt she ate it.  I always wondered if that story was to remind her grifters that they were indeed thrifty and so poor they had to eat trash.

There must be a sign saying no children under 13 (18?) are allowed on the exercise machines. Janessa's lovey could could get sucked into a treadmill or tangled in other equipment. Kids can wipe out on treadmills and get road rash like burns. Weights can be dropped on little feet.

Its a wonder these kids haven't had more injuries than they've had.

And one of the older kids is drinking coffee, or hot chocolate, in the exercise room.

I listened to a tiny bit of the Rod's latest church takeover, this time with Sam and Gabriel "preaching."  In those precious 15 seconds, I reached my limit of "ummmm's" for the rest of the year.

Not everyone is meant to preach, Jill.  Sammers couldn't even spit out a complete sentence while reading directly from the Bible but then, look who taught him to read.

I listened to just a few seconds of each.  Gabriel said that “evil abortion bill” was probably rigged. Samual struggled just to speak.

I "borrowed " this from a different forum.

I thought it was interesting that TLC paid for all the food from their filmed grocery trips.

Jill said they were able to get much different stuff than what they normally had to eat all the time.

So Michelle couldn’t even be bothered to cook up a big crockpot or pressure cooker full of beans.  Instead she bought those little cans for that humongous family.  Even with just five kids, my mom never did that.  We also made our own burritos, never buying them frozen.

  13. For those of you who have read the book, I have a question about JB’s itemized list of Jill’s expenses.  Is he talking about all expenses since Jill was born, or just her adult years while she remained living at home between age 18 til marriage?

I do believe JB spent plenty of money on his adult kids, even the married ones. They all drove big SUVS, had Apple laptops and phones, spent lots of time in coffee shops and nail salon, went on plenty of ski trips and cross-country visits, had too many babies, with little or no jobs or education.

Of course, he bought them all these things because he has to control them and they cannot work (if female) or must work for JB (if male).

Jill made Nuri sing like 2 weeks after she had her baby. AndKaylee is getting the same treatment, perform for $ for mommy dearest. Jill is never leaving her alone or letting her live her life. AndKaylee and her offspring will be Jill’s trained seals begging for $…

Jonathan grow a pair and tell Jill to leave the Hill family alone.

Not only was Nurie made to go “on stage” minutes after giving birth, but remember how Jill told the whole church that she had painful stitches in her perineum?

I think this may be a reference to Terry Maxwell who, according to her husband, Steve, was 'addicted' to Pepsi; so he forbade her to drink it.  Claimed it was the cause of her depression.  Because having umpteen kids and a controlling a**hole of a husband wasn't depressing enough.

Steve and Terry Maxwell created the infamous 'chore packs' that the Duggars used on the show back in the early days.  They toured the countryside singing and selling various aids for the Christian homes.  The husband was awful, total iron fist.  He did seem to be able to support the whole bunch pretty well.  However, the sons all got married off but lived in the same neighborhood while the daughters languished at home, sharing bunk beds. One of the daughters ran a blog for them.

Finally, the dam seemingly burst.  One of the sons and his wife moved a couple hours away to a large city.  Then the eldest daughter moved out on her own into an apartment, she was in her late 30's.  Around the same time, two of the younger girls went off to Bible college on their own.  This was stuff Stevehovah would never have sanctioned.  The older daughter got engaged and married shortly after moving out.

Seems like Steve lost his iron grasp on the family and the family blog shut down around that time.  I think they've pretty much gone silent on their lives although I think they still sell chore packs and various books including some really awful children's books written by one of the girls.

    Maxwell family blog

I loved reading about the Maxwell family and was in shock when the patriarchy dam burst.

Except, wasn’t Sarah in her early FORTIES before she had to nerve to leave home in an unmarried state?  Leaving her father’s protection?!

She's all in on the submissive wife bullshit. She lives to please him.

I can’t forget how the entire time Jinger was courting and constantly texting Jeremy, Joy was still a total Tom-boy and seemed annoyed at Jinger’s infatuation.

And then just like that she herself was engaged and deferring to Austin about all things wedding planning.  She suddenly changed her whole demeanor to please him.  Ick.

They're going to take off that baby sling and find poor Gideon suffocated. Idiots.

And Jill, you aren't fooling anyone, he is not your baby. You look pathetic. Give it up.

Not only does Jill look pathetic wearing her grandson, but seriously, she looked like her breasts were all lopsided and very lumpy.  At first, I had no idea there’d be a baby under that weird shirt.

I wore my babies a lot.  Back in the 80’s, we had the Snugli carrier and you knew there was a baby in there!

I thought there was quite a strong wacko fundie movement in Australia.  After all that is where Hillsong came from.  I vaguely remember the still minor Duggars spending some time in Australia a few years ago, so maybe JB is brokering a marriage from there.  Very telling that James couldn't find anyone in the US who would have him.  He should have approached the Rods.  I'll bet JRod would be more than willing to hand over a daughter to him.

And Australia is where we first saw Josiah with his courtship girl (his wife now.  sorry, I can’t remember her name).

Well neither have Michaela Bates and Brandon Keiler but not for lack of trying.  So they say.

Hopefully, given their young ages, someone took them aside and explained the merits of birth control and waiting to plan a family.

Speaking of Michaela, did she ever finish her RN degree?
