  1. I just unknowingly and stupidly spent $386.00 for tickets for a program that promotes a religious cult. I watch a lot of YouTube. And I have recently received a lot of advertisements on YouTube for this Chinese ballet production. It looked like something I really wanted to see so I watched the entire ad, which was quite long and showed the strict and strenuous training of these dancers. I was very excited about them coming to Seattle and I quickly purchased two really good tickets. $180.00 each plus $26.00 ticket fees. Really good seats in the Seattle Opera house. I have never been to a professional ballet, or opera, and I was so excited. Then further reading about the dance company, Shen Yen, says the owner is a cult leader who actually donated big money to the Trump campaign and was somehow involved in the lies about Hilary Clinton. The dancers aren’t even necessarily from China but instead are from all over the world. They are headquartered in rural New York. The tickets are non-refundable so of course we will go and enjoy the ballet and acrobatics. Even though some reviewers say the show really pushes their beliefs. Has anyone else ever gone to a Shen Yen ballet and what did you think of it?
  2. He’s still wound up tightly, though. Look at how clenched his left hand is! I’ve seen him do that before.
  3. Yes, but remember a few years back when she claimed long hair gave her terrible migraines? I guess not anymore? She looks very “Little House On The Prairie “ in that photo.
  4. My double hip replacement surgery was from 2:25 to 5p.m. That’s the actual cutting to close time from my surgeon’s notes. I was back home by 9 p.m., with an hour drive. I was offered a bed and my surgeon said he didn’t expect me to go home that day but I did everything the therapist said and was able to go home. I did have one low-blood pressure episode as soon as I got home, which was scary. Luckily they sent me home with a thick canvas strap still around my waist and hubby was able to get me back to laying flat quickly. I was also sent home with two hip wrap ice machines and great follow up, including calls and messages from my nurse navigator.
  5. I bet grandma (David’s mom) sent a check for the food). Jill didn’t say grandma and grandpa so maybe she finally remembered the other grandma this year.
  6. Good for you for getting through that first week and even getting some sleep! Last year I had double hip replacement surgery and I barely slept those first two weeks. I wasn’t used to back sleeping and everything tasted and smelled awful. It wasn’t until the fourteen day when I stopped taking the narcotic that I started feeling better and could eat normally and stopped feeling dizzy. I also had wonderful insurance with the home OT and PT. Best part was even though Google said it could cost $64,000 for a double, I only had to pay the $75.00 outpatient surgery copay. That included OT, PT and all follow-up visits and X-rays for six weeks. I’ve heard that knees are a harder recovery than hips, which seem to have become drive-by surgery! Remember the mantra of elevate, ice, rest and lots of protein for recovery! Protein shakes helped me immensely when food looked horrible.
  7. Jill posted a photo of the thrown away carton of ice cream. Really, it was only gross melted sludge left on the bottom. I doubt she ate it. I always wondered if that story was to remind her grifters that they were indeed thrifty and so poor they had to eat trash.
  8. I thought his gums look puffy. His teeth are very white so Jill taught him well but is he flossing?
  9. And one of the older kids is drinking coffee, or hot chocolate, in the exercise room.
  10. I listened to just a few seconds of each. Gabriel said that “evil abortion bill” was probably rigged. Samual struggled just to speak.
  11. You know Jill’s magazine will be nonstop “glamour” shots of Jill, cover to cover. Sure, there’ll be a few articles on how to apply light feminine touches of makeup and how to dress modestly but mostly photos of Jill.
  12. Nurie’s dress was fine, if a bit old-fashioned. At least she didn’t have to pay a fortune for it. I recall Anna wearing a bag of a brown dress to that wedding.
  13. I am absolutely horrified to hear Heidi’s voice. I’m sorry, but no one who still sounds 9 years old is ready for marriage.
  14. So Michelle couldn’t even be bothered to cook up a big crockpot or pressure cooker full of beans. Instead she bought those little cans for that humongous family. Even with just five kids, my mom never did that. We also made our own burritos, never buying them frozen.
  15. For those of you who have read the book, I have a question about JB’s itemized list of Jill’s expenses. Is he talking about all expenses since Jill was born, or just her adult years while she remained living at home between age 18 til marriage? I do believe JB spent plenty of money on his adult kids, even the married ones. They all drove big SUVS, had Apple laptops and phones, spent lots of time in coffee shops and nail salon, went on plenty of ski trips and cross-country visits, had too many babies, with little or no jobs or education. Of course, he bought them all these things because he has to control them and they cannot work (if female) or must work for JB (if male).
  16. Not only was Nurie made to go “on stage” minutes after giving birth, but remember how Jill told the whole church that she had painful stitches in her perineum?
  17. I loved reading about the Maxwell family and was in shock when the patriarchy dam burst. Except, wasn’t Sarah in her early FORTIES before she had to nerve to leave home in an unmarried state? Leaving her father’s protection?!
  18. I can’t forget how the entire time Jinger was courting and constantly texting Jeremy, Joy was still a total Tom-boy and seemed annoyed at Jinger’s infatuation. And then just like that she herself was engaged and deferring to Austin about all things wedding planning. She suddenly changed her whole demeanor to please him. Ick.
  19. Not only does Jill look pathetic wearing her grandson, but seriously, she looked like her breasts were all lopsided and very lumpy. At first, I had no idea there’d be a baby under that weird shirt. I wore my babies a lot. Back in the 80’s, we had the Snugli carrier and you knew there was a baby in there!
  20. And Australia is where we first saw Josiah with his courtship girl (his wife now. sorry, I can’t remember her name).
  21. Hopefully, given their young ages, someone took them aside and explained the merits of birth control and waiting to plan a family. Speaking of Michaela, did she ever finish her RN degree?
