  1. The violence was even worse in the book. It was unrelenting. The series toned it down a bit. Yeah, if they'd skipped the whole Sea of Flames nonsense, I wouldn't have minded. Having the Nazis searching for Marie because of her broadcasts is compelling enough, IMO. More French resistance, less silly cursed diamond. And then to just have her chuck the diamond into the sea (which will probably be washed back ashore as someone else pointed out) was too "Titanic" for me.
  2. I read the book last year and have been looking forward to the series. I'm reading lots of hate online for the series, but I liked it. I do agree that Mark Ruffalo was miscast. For the entire first episode I thought Etienne was played by Donald Sutherland - only to look it up and realize it was Hugh Laurie; dude was practically unrecognizable! Was HL even attempting a French-English accent though? At times he didn't even sound British and sounded American, lol. The accents of the "French" were pretty atrocious. Book and show spoilers ahead: As someone who was completely gut-punched when Werner was killed by the landmine in the book, I'm totally okay that his death was not shown in the series. His fate can go either way in the show: we can imagine he meets his book fate later on or we can just imagine he'll stay in the custody of the Americans and be released with all the other POWs and will reunite with Jutta. I LOVED Louis Hofman as Werner, for me he was the MVP of the show. Marie was never my favorite in the book and in the series she was just there. I wanted her to STFU with all her radio broadcasts because of how many times she almost got Werner in trouble. I don't recall so many near-misses in the book. And how the hell did she not cut up her feet walking around barefoot in the attic with all that broken glass on the ground. Madame Manec called Etienne her "little brother" right before he went outside with Marie - was this a change from the book? Because I don't remember them being siblings; she was just his housekeeper, I think. I was surprised Etienne died, because with his death Marie is completely alone. At least in the book after Daniel never comes home, Etienne takes her back to Paris and takes care of her. With Daniel, Madame Manec, and Etienne all dead how is Marie going to fend for herself in the ruins of Saint Malo? Is that why they left Werner alive: so we can imagine he goes back to her and takes care of her? I am forever grateful they omitted what happens to Jutta and Frau Elena at the hands of the Russians. I know the Red Army pillaged and raped in Germany, but I felt it was just too much by that point in an already dark book. While I was surprised that they also omitted Werner's school friend Frederick I also didn't need to see the abuse he suffers and his ultimate bleak fate either. I was surprised how briefly we saw the beefy friend who survives the book but died rather quickly by the collapsed ceiling in the series. That was a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance. The series had many flaws and wasn't as good as the book but I give it a 7/10. Edit: The stupidest thing was Marie the expert marksman who killed Von Rumpel with a perfect head shot. Sweet Jesus what the hell was that nonsense?!
  3. Yeah, this is one of my biggest gripes about the series. Cas added nothing to the story yet he had an expanded role, while Johannes Voskuijl who was one of the helpers and built the moving bookcase was completely omitted from the story. And I kept waiting for Bep to have more to do and say (even if it was only talking with Miep about their situation) and that never materialized either. We barely got to know Victor Kugler too. I think the last 2 episodes are the most screentime and dialogue both Bep and Kugler got in the entire show. I've always wondered: what happened to Peter's cat after the raid?
  4. I don't know how people like Otto found the strength to go on after losing everything. Especially after he learned that Margot & Anne did not survive...to have that last bit of hope extinguished...I don't think I'd have the strength to continue if I were in his situation. Poor Peter van Pels died within days of the Mauthausen camp liberation. The cruelty & unfairness of that is just...damn. It's amazing to think that because of Anne (with an assist from Otto & Miep) everyone who hid in the Annex is still remembered 80 years after their deaths. May they never be forgotten.
  5. That was completely unexpected and I literally laughed out loud and rewound to watch it again. The little twerp had it coming and I didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for him. I also laughed when Arthur slapped Spencer with his gloves and in response Spencer casually but forcefully kicked him in the gut. Instead of Elizabeth's miscarriage clearing things up about the Dutton family tree, I suspect things have been muddied up even more. We didn't hear the doctor tell Elizabeth she couldn't have anymore children, so I feel that Jack & Elizabeth's conversation could be a misdirect by TS. And then there was Alex feeling queasy on the ship...was it seasickness or morning sickness? I believe TS still hasn't decided which couple will be the forebearers to Kevin Costner. I continue to be annoyed with how much credit James & Margaret get for the Dutton empire. Here we had Cara write to Spencer that "everything your parents fought so hard to build is being ripped from us". Argh!! James & Margaret spent 10 years on that land and built a shack. Then they died and Jacob & Cara had to ride to the rescue and spent 30 years making the family what it is. They were the ones who took James's dream and built it into an empire - Elsa said it in the season premiere. It's like TS doesn't pay any attention to what he writes in previous episodes and just goes for grand statements that barely make sense. This episode drove home just how old Jacob & Cara really are: first with Jacob having trouble with his hands and saying that he doesn't have much time since he's 78 years old, and then Cara looking so tired and defeated during the confrontation with Whitfield and at the end when she crumpled the letter. I'm watching this show primarily for Mirren and Ford, so the 2nd season better not be set past 1924 because I fear Jacob & Cara don't have much time left. I will be furious if TS pulls another 1883 and we only learn of Jacob & Cara's fate through flashbacks and Elsa's narration (like we did with James & Margaret). I'm all for continuing the Dutton storyline via Spencer & Jack but I require proper send offs for Jacob & Cara. Alex is a Countess in her own right? If she is the grandmother of John III, it's weird none of the modern day Duttons have never mentioned they come from British royalty. Thankfully the Rainwaters and Pete made it out of the finale alive. I rolled my eyes at how the marshals quickly deduced they are heading to the Comanche Reservation in Wyoming. I hope Runs with Horses realizes he may be making things too obvious for their pursuers and changes course. I fully expect RWH to die protecting Teonna, and I strongly suspect Pete will die too. Even if he fathers Teonna's child, there has to be a reason why Thomas carries the Rainwater last name and is not Thomas Plenty Clouds.
  6. I thought he was suffering from Parkinson's because of how badly his hands were shaking, so I did a Google search and it doesn't appear he's been diagnosed with anything serious. So the shaky hands, the raspy voice, etc. seems due to old age (he just turned 82!) and a life hard lived. I think this one and the Chloe Sevigny episode are my least favorite episodes. This ep had a few good moments (the barber shop scene; Charlie in the horse costume) but the grainy look to it (especially the final sequence), the stop motion animation (never been a fan), and some things that didn't make sense (security didn't take Raoul's badge after he was fired) or seemed farfetched (Max jumping to his death so the poisoning was never discovered)...all added up to make a rather meh episode for me. Also, I'm supposed to believe that a woman died on a movie set and no investigation ever discovered the BTS footage of Laura turning off the read light? The death happened in 1989...that wasn't so long ago. By that time, it was common for police to go over any video footage. Does anyone know who played young Arthur? It looked like Seth Rogan, but IMDb is of no help because the young Arthur actor isn't listed.
  7. Yeah, Spencer is definitely the one who will lead the family through "every hell of the 20th century", since John obviously can't anymore. I think it's still up in the air as to who that first line refers to; the use of "children" instead of "child" is what gives me pause. John only saw 1 child grown. So it's entirely possible Spencer will father children and live long enough to raise them into adulthood and guide them through the 20th century. But then that would screw up Kevin Costner's John III being 5th generation and born in the 1950's. So for now, I think I agree with you that Spencer will live a long life but will not father children. Kind of like Jacob. I suspect the season finale may clear things up a bit.
  8. On the first trip out of the capsized tugboat, Spencer retrieved his bag and rope; on his second trip he grabbed his rifle and Alex's satchel. I shall assume her nice boots and coat were in her bag because she sure as hell wasn't wearing them when she first escaped the boat. What I find really annoying is that Spencer's gun powder and rifle weren't damaged after being submerged in ocean water and (like blackwing said) none of his apparently limitless money was lost. I know Alex's banter is supposed to be charming but the more we hear the more irritated I get with her, and yes the more she reminds me of Beth. She was standing a few feet from Spencer when the sailor warned him about Mussolini and Sicilian Mafia; yet when Spencer says they need to get to a hotel, her response is to demand they find a café so she can have "pasta and wine". We'll see what further trouble that decision gets them into, besides running into the ex-fiancé. In fairness to Alex, Elizabeth was a bit of a spoiled princess when we first met her...but she wasn't as entitled as Alex is and she is adapting to the life of a rancher's wife; so we'll see if Alex can turn down her spoiled rich girl routine at least a little once/if she reaches the ranch. But I get the feeling that TS views Alex as this show's Beth and will continue to write her the way he does now...and if that's the case I will be rooting for Alex to meet a quick exit next season.
  9. Oh Hank, oh no! 😥 I just knew he was going to pay a heavy price for helping Teonna. This storyline is breaking my heart and so hard to watch. I'm glad the 3 priests are dead but those 2 agents are still out there. I already love Runs His Horse (Teonna's father, had to check IMDb for his name) and Hank's son and I just can't stand the thought of something bad happening to either of them. What an awful way for Runs His Horse to find his mother, but at least he was able to give her a proper burial and is on the trail of the agents who are responsible for her death and are hunting his daughter. I love how he immediately started tracking the agents and that he told Hank's son to take the back roads in returning to his father. I could watch a whole season of Runs His Horse dispensing justice on the white men who hurt his people. It's going to break my heart when/if he dies. I loved the shot of men struggling to push the stalled car as Jacob and his posse ride by on their horses. 2 eras overlapping and no matter how much Jacob doesn't want change it is coming fast. With Jacob on the mend, it looks like Jack is learning quite a lot from him now. With a bit more time, I can see Jack being capable of running the ranch. But I don't know if Jack has much time because we got that ominous line from Bronn about Jack not cheating death for a third time. I really liked the dinner table scene and find it interesting that it's Jack & Elizabeth who are getting lessons on running the ranch while Spencer & Alex continue on their never ending journey home. Cara bonding with Elizabeth, and Jacob showing Jack the ropes is making me root for Jack & Liz to be the ones who continue the Dutton bloodline. The more I see of both couples the more I grow to like Jack/Liz and the more annoyed I get with Spencer/Alex. Speaking of Alex, I got a strong Yellowstone Beth feeling from her when she told Spencer he'd have a good view if he walked behind her and she knew he'd be smiling. That line was nowhere near as vulgar as the stuff Beth says to men but it did have the same vibe. Between the ex-fiancé reappearing and the specter of the Italian Mafia, I'm positively on pins and needles wondering how Spencer & Alex will be further delayed on their journey to Montana. 🙄
  10. Captain Benjen Stark pointed out to Spencer & Alex that it takes months for an immigrant to gain entry into the US, so how were they planning on getting Alex to Montana post-haste even before their tugboat capsized? Somehow I don't think Spencer ever planned on leaving her in some immigrant entry point while he hightailed it to Montana...so plot hole? Of course they got lucky in that they found a ship captain who, not only rescued them, could marry them thus enabling Alex to bypass immigration laws. I'm not all swoony over the Spencer/Alex relationship, but them getting married at sea after escaping death for a 3rd time was romantic and seems like a story that deserves to be passed down through generations of Duttons. Hell, even their hand-me-down wedding rings seem like the perfect heirlooms to pass down - not that any of the current rich-ass spoiled Duttons would ever appreciate them. But it would be a nice Easter egg to see the rings make an appearance in a future Yellowstone episode...that is if Alex & Spencer are the direct ancestors. Otherwise, they'll probably be forgotten like Jacob & Cara - who did more for the Dutton empire than James & Margaret but it's only great-great-grandpa Tim McGraw who ever gets credit or mentioned. Given the mystery of which branch of the Dutton family tree will spawn Kevin Costner, I couldn't help but notice the anvils dropped in this episode. First there was expectant parents Jack & Elizabeth being happy & lovey-dovey only for the camera to linger on Elizabeth's gunshot wound. And then there was the entire final scene between Spencer & Alex, but specifically Alex saying she'll follow Spencer anywhere even if it leads to death. Dun dun dun. One of these couples is doomed, and the suspense is driving me crazy. RIP Teonna's grandmother. That poor family...first the cousin and now the grandma are dead. I fear what will happen to Teonna's father because that has to be the next stop for the agents that are hunting her. Hell, I'm afraid something terrible will happen to Hank too and I can't bear to watch that play out. I absolutely adore all their scenes and their relationship, and I particularly loved this bit of humor. After all the crap she's had to endure as a rancher's wife, Cara deserves modern conveniences to make her final years easier. Jacob is being dragged into the 20th century kicking and screaming it seems. A motorcar? He'd probably have a fit if he saw the modern-day Dutton's park a helicopter on his front lawn. Yeah, Zane's reaction was strange. It was either because the writers forgot what they wrote 2 episodes ago OR Zane is a traitor working for Bronn & Timothy Dalton. If it's the latter then his odd reaction to Spencer's imminent return (and the hell he will raise) makes a bit more sense.
  11. I'm glad Cara finally got the news she's been waiting for - Spencer's on his way home. Although I assume with Timothy Dalton's foreshadowing about Cara begging him to buy the ranch come Spring, Spencer won't show up at the ranch until Spring 1924 just as things are bleakest for the Duttons. I think Cara & Jacob are making a mistake in expecting Spencer to ride in and be their savior, and thereby underestimating an angry Jack. Now that Jack has grown that comically villainous goatee, I can't help but wonder if he and Spencer will clash once they're both on the ranch. I certainly don't expect things to go swimmingly between Jack/Elizabeth & Spencer/Alex when/if they all reside on the ranch. I knew Teonna's cousin was going to pay the price for staying, and I absolutely hated watching her get beat and (I assume) killed. I need that priest to meet a horrific & painful end, but I won't hold my breath. I can't believe that there aren't at least a few decent nuns or priests at that school who sympathize with the girls enough to stand up to the abuse. It's so frustrating to watch. While I'm glad Teonna found someone who can help her, I suspect the school will catch up to them and Henry will suffer for helping her out. I'm starting to get annoyed with the perils of Spencer & Alex, and I hope this shipwreck is the last obstacle they face on their way to Montana. Now it's starting to feel like an unnecessary stall, and if either one contracts whatever the tugboat captain had (TB?) further delaying their journey, I'll throw something at the TV. Emma's blink-and-you-miss-it death was even worse than John's. These 2 really got the shaft from the writers. Only Margaret dying in a snow bank (offscreen) is worse.
  12. Okay, I'm in. I thought I was over zombie apocalypse shows, but on the strength of Pedro Pascal and HBO, I decided to give this one a try. I feel episode 1 was stronger, mainly because of the opening 30 minutes with Sarah, but episode 2 kept me hooked. I didn't realize there were 2 different zombies until I read the comments here. These zombies seem a lot harder to kill than the ones from the Walking Dead. That, coupled with the fact that they are connected through vines, makes the Last of Us zombies incredibly scary. Also the fact that these zombies run. I would turn right around and go back to the QZ if I lived in that world. I loved Tess and am sad she's gone so soon. It was nice to see she had retained some compassion and wasn't as cold as she seemed in the first episode. I was actually expecting Joel to thaw first towards Ellie, and Tess to be reluctant to help her out. So far, both places Joel & Tess have gone to has suffered an attack (Marlene's hideout and now the Statehouse) shortly before their arrival. I hope Joel & now Ellie aren't cursed like Rick and the gang over on the Walking Dead, in that once they arrive at a new location, that location is overrun and the previous residents are all killed. We'll see how things transpire at the next location Joel & Ellie travel to, but I suspect I'm going to be yelling at all future characters not to let Joel & Ellie in. I got the feeling that Ellie was lying when she said she was alone in the mall when she got bit. I know nothing of the video game, so I don't know the answer one way or the other but it seemed to me she wasn't being entirely truthful when answering Tess's questions. I'm interested to see if there's more to Ellie's story.
  13. Yay, Jacob survived! I was sure he would die because I just couldn't see Harrison Ford committing to a full season of a tv show. I'm glad I was wrong. I'm so annoyed that we barely got to know John, and now he's dead. He was the one character that connected 1883 and 1923 and his death garnered zero reaction except from Emma. It was bittersweet watching Emma dig his grave next to his 3 original family members who made the trek from Texas to Montana 40 years before. As awesome as Cara is, I was annoyed on Emma's behalf when she told Elizabeth's mother that she (Cara) would discipline Jack. I get the feeling that Jacob & Cara have such strong personalities that John and Emma never had much say on the Ranch. I suspect that once Cara dies, the matriarchal role will bypass Emma and go to Elizabeth or Alex. I'm not as swoony over Spencer & Alex as most seem to be, but I absolutely loved their final scene and I liked the way she got him to read all the letters Cara wrote to him. I also liked that Alex got to know the Dutton family through the letters, so much so that she was moved to tears reading the last letter. I was pleasantly surprised that Spencer cried when he learned his family has been attacked; he's been so broody and stoic, I expected we'd get more of the same from him in that scene. Cara is so sure that only Spencer can save the family that I think she underestimates Jack (her line to Bronn comes to mind) and may be surprised when he takes an active role in the running of the ranch now that John is dead and Jacob is bedridden. I don't think the ranch is big enough for 2 fiery couples (Spencer/Alex, Jack/Elizabeth) and something is bound to happen in order for one couple to take the reins from Jacob & Cara. I hate Bronn (sorry, he'll always be Bronn to me), but after the way Timothy Dalton threatened his family, I think he might be having second thoughts about getting in bed with him. Bury his children in the skin of their mother? Jesus, take it down a notch, you psycho. I know the abuse endured by Teonna at the Indian School is too much for some viewers, but I'm glad Sheridan is shining a light on this horrible piece of history. It wasn't until college that I learned about these inhumane institutions and I'm glad it's been getting some media attention in both the US and Canada these last few years. Thankfully, the nun did not break Teonna's spirit and Teonna got her revenge and is hopefully now free of the school, but I fear her friend will suffer for Teonna's actions. Now we're doing mid-season breaks for 8 episode seasons?? This is absurd.
  14. I'm spitballing here because the Dutton family tree is giving me a headache: I had been leaning towards Spencer being Kevin Costner/John III's ancestor, in part because I thought Taylor Sheridan wanted the audience to assume John Sr. was the ancestor based on Elsa's line about her brothers in episode 1, but then he'd pull a switcheroo and reveal Spencer is actually Costner's great-grandfather. Technically, it's possible Spencer will father a child and die before the kid reaches adulthood. And technically that kid could father Costner in 1955. HOWEVER, that can't work because of what the Native told Tim McGraw when he settled in Montana: that in 7 generations, the Natives will take the land back from the Duttons. In order for there to be 7 generations from James (1st gen) to Tate (7th gen) through Spencer's line, Spencer (2nd gen) would have to already have a kid OR he will have to sire a kid (3rd gen) in 1923 and that kid will have to have a kid (4th gen) who will father Costner (5th gen) in 1955. Meaning, Spencer's kid who might be born around 1923 will be need to become a grandfather at the age of 32 years old, lol. Also Tim McGraw confirmed in some interview a while ago that James Dutton is Kevin Costner's great-great-grandfather...so there has to be 3 generations between them. Of course I'm operating on the popular fan theory that when adult Tate (7th generation Dutton AND part Native American) takes control of the Dutton empire he will fulfill the prophecy. In conclusion: yeah, I'm taking everything at face value and I'm 99% sure the Dutton line is thus: James > John Sr. > Jack > John II > Costner > Kayce > Tate = boom prophecy fulfilled.
  15. I didn't realize how good of a job the show has done in getting me to care about the minor side characters of Ferrix until this episode. I was so worried all of Cassian's friends were going to be gunned down in the town square, but thankfully most of them (Brasso in particular) made it out alive. RIP, Xanwan. While I'm glad Brasso, Bix, Jez, and B2 escaped, I worry about Pegla and his hounds, the Time Grappler, and everyone else who stayed behind in Ferrix because of how the Empire will punish them. Will Ferrix have a "mining accident" too? I adore B2EMO and want to see him again, but I prefer he and Bix and Brasso just stay offscreen and live in relative safety. I don't want them involved with the rebellion because that would mean almost certain death. For the record, I want Syril and Dedra to meet grizzly ends, however Syril rescuing Dedra and her disgusted/confused/grateful reaction had me both laughing and cringing. I don't think she's going to be able to shake the creepy little stalker now.
  16. "I burn my life for a sunrise I know I'll never see." And he's also willing to burn the lives of 50 rebels in order to keep his mole in the ISB. I don't consider Luthen a villain but he's certainly the darkest character we've ever seen on the "good side" in Star Wars. I'm curious what started him on this path; this show is so good that I hope they don't go with the cliché that the Empire killed his wife and that's what turned him into a rebel. I hope more prisoners made it to the shore, not just Cassian and Melshi. I assume Kino is toast - either he drowns or is recapture and executed as one of the ringleaders of the prison break. Since I can't find any spoilers for this show and I'm watching it completely unspoiled, I thought the prisoners were climbing to get to the hanger in order to commandeer a space ship to get off the planet. I was surprised the "one way out" was to swim to shore. That was absolutely brutal for Kino and anyone else who can't swim. This is my 2nd favorite SW series and I'm bummed there are only 2 episodes left. I'm biting my nails worrying about which characters will not survive to see season 2. Karn can die, though.
  17. Am I to understand that Lord Borros Baratheon of Storm's End does not know how to read? Is that why he shouted for his maester to come read Rhaenyra's message? If so, how the hell does a lord of a castle and an entire region not know how to read? I'm such a sucker for all things Stark that when Cregan Stark and Winterfell got name dropped multiple times, I smiled like a fool and had to rewind those scenes. I really really hope we get to see Jace's mission to Winterfell next season. While Aegon's Painted Table looks amazing all lit up, it also looks smaller than it did in GOT, especially in the early seasons when Stannis held council meetings around it. My heart ached as Rhaenyra said goodbye to her sons. Luke looked scared and unsure of himself, while Jace looked far more confident, and Rhaenyra knew her youngest needed some extra reassurance. No doubt Rhaenyra & Jace will feel guilt for sending Luke on his mission. Dany's dragon theme playing as the 3 dragons departed Dragonstone was chef's kiss.
  18. She would be the logical choice. I think Daemon royally screwed up by not encouraging Rhaena to claim Vhagar after Laena's death and before they returned to Westeros. So I hope Daemon singing to Vermithor is him having some foresight this time and also him showing some interest is his dragonless daughter. Rhaenys standing off to the side reacting and smirking to what Rhaenyra & Daemon were saying and doing was everything. She even gave Baela a look when she stepped away from her and went to stand next to Jace. I'm glad the Sea Snake is back in the game and that he declared for Rhaenyra, and that Rhaenys is the one who guided him to that decision. Watching poor Rhaenyra struggle through yet another birth, makes my heart ache for the girl she was who declared she didn't want to end up locked in a tower giving birth to babies. Poor Jace and Luke having to see their mother in the throes of a bloody messy labor. Daemon has wanted a war against the Greens for decades and is finally going to get it. Rhaenyra nailed it when said that Daemon was already "Gone to madness. Gone to plot his war." She barely managed to keep him in check this episode, but after what Aemond did there will be no stopping Daemon now. But I guess, Rhaenyra doesn't want to stop him now either.
  19. I agree. The kids all get along, and Rhaenyra is an affectionate mother. Corlys & Rhaenys seem to have a good marriage and have embraced their granddaughters. Daemon is the only one who doesn't seem to love anyone. His one redeeming quality was his love for Viserys & Rhaenyra, but Viserys is dead and after the events of this episode, I don't know what he feels for Rhaenyra anymore. I knew it was coming, and I really didn't want to watch it, but I'm grateful that at least it was quick death for Luke and Arrax. They were both so afraid in their last moments though. Actually poor Luke was terrified the moment he entered Storm's End and saw that psycho watching him. I don't care if the show made this into a "whoopsie" moment for Aemond, the fact is he was terrorizing his young nephew from moment he saw him and was acting like the big bad bully with his big vicious dragon. He chased after him - once again the Greens are the aggressors. This was road rage but with dragons, and Grandma Vhagar didn't come to play children's games. He got her riled up and couldn't control her. Now dumbass Aemond will either have to admit he can't control his dragon or lean into the villain role. I expect he'll embrace being a villain. Good job in destroying any chance at avoiding war, asshole.
  20. While I root for certain characters and want Team Black to win, ultimately all I care about is the safety of ALL the dragons - even those on Team Green; because those poor creatures would probably be happiest just hanging out together, roasting goats, and taking naps on the beach. Laena should have just left Vhagar alone because the poor old girl just wanted to retire and now she and all the other dragons have been pulled into the humans' war. Yeah I had the same thought. This was my least favorite episode of the season, and mostly because it was dedicated entirely to the Hightowers. That's what I thought because I assume the dragon saddles have some sort of storage compartment (like the trunk of a car) for the rider to store some necessities while on dragon back. It's not like the dragons would mind a little extra weight on their backs. Rhaenys got to Meleys, popped open the trunk, put on her armor over her black dress, and busted out of the dragon pit.
  21. Helaena's dragon is Dreamfyre. But I agree, I don't see her taking part in any dragon fights in the war. I was actually surprised to see her flying away from Driftmark with her brothers. I genuinely don't know how having Dreamfyre on their side is of any help to Team Green when her rider is so passive and uninvolved in the political scheming. It's not like anyone else can borrow Dreamfyre and take her to war.
  22. Oh, I have a question: are we supposed to know who the hooded figure was - the one who walked away from Mysaria's burning building? Otto? Arryk? Aemond? I know it was all done for the drama, but it was so dumb to have Rhaenys get Meleys out of the dragon pit by having her break through the floor. Why not take her out the way she took her in? I'm assuming the entrance that Rhaenyra used in the very first scene of the show is the way in to the pit. Even if armed guards were posted at that entrance/exit, I'm sure Meleys could have Dracarysed their asses and gotten away. This way, Rhaenys killed a bunch of innocent people and didn't even kill the ones I wanted her to kill. Helaena is too good for these asshole Hightowers. In her own little way, I feel she was showing her displeasure with Aegon being crowned when she wouldn't even look at him during his crowning. She just kept her head turned to the side. The things she has endured and the things she has seen in her dreams - she is the only Green I care for.
  23. After the way Cole killed Lord Beesbury -simply for stating what the Greens were doing was wrong - I've come to the conclusion that this fucker is nothing more than a thug in a uniform. His behavior goes beyond how Rhaenyra treated him after their one-night-stand 16 years ago. Like Alicent, he hides behind the cloak of his own righteousness and has himself convinced he is the good one. And to threaten his lord commander? I can't wait for this fucker to die. Larys is a disgusting human being in all matters and I also can't wait for him to die. Otto too. To have already had a secret plan in place to usurp Rhaenyra and have her and her family killed; to threaten the lords and ladies to swear fealty to Aegon and have those who wouldn't do it killed; it's just all so infuriating. This episode really upset me. And whatever benefit of the doubt I was still giving Alicent is gone. She knows what a sick fuck Aegon is and she still goes ahead with making him king. All her years of living as a broodmare and she's so close to seeing it all pay off? Yeah she ain't giving up this power now. How anyone can look at Aegon & Aemond and say that Jace & Luke are somehow worse simply because they are bastards is beyond me. The only people who didn't make my blood boil this episode were Helaena, Erryk, Westerling, and Caswell. I was annoyed with Rhaenys for not roasting all the usurpers when she had them dead to rights. No episode of GOT/HotD has ever pissed me off as much as this one.
  24. Most of my knowledge of the Dance of Dragons comes from watching HBO's History and Lore on Youtube and reading the character Wikis. Does Aemond really cut out Luke's eyes after killing him?! It takes a certain kind of psycho to desecrate a corpse. They really should end it on a this somewhat "happy" note. At least in GOT, the Starks, Tyrion, and several fan favorites got relatively happy endings. But the same can't be said for how HotD will have to end. Viewers are about to be put through the emotional ringer, so it would be nice to at least show Aegon, Rhaena, and Baela reunite with their little brother. I think it would also be a good idea to somehow let the casual viewers know that Dany & Jon are descended from Daemon & Rhaenyra's line. So if the leaks are correct (and they have been so far), this season ends with Luke's death. So next season the big deaths should be Rhaenys and Jace? The Greens better start dying soon to even things out.
  25. Yeah, I'm not buying that Ewan Mitchell is only 20 years old. I don't think anyone knows because 1) it's not listed on his Wiki page or IMDB, and 2) I've seen on here and Reddit fans state with confidence that he's 20 and other say he's 22. To me, dude looks mid-20s at the least.
