  1. It took me until the end of the scene to realize that was Pam who came in the house. I actually thought it was Trish at first. I was wondering why it took me so long- but it was because she wasn't wearing the right outfit!
  2. I've never wanted more characters on a show to be stabbed so many times. I really thought Stannis would ride in during the wedding. Stupid me thinking that poor Sansa was going to get out of this physically unscathed. Now get to the stabby stabs, Grandma O and Sansa/Theon!
  3. I have liked every marvel movie so far, but oh, that was terrible! And not just for a marvel movie but for any movie. The pacing was off, the writing was awful, both dialogue and the story itself. Characters would just flit off and then randomly return. I had no idea how much time had passed between scenes (like at the end when they had a shiny new facility but just found the missing jet). And overall the characters felt...off. Also, why is the guy with an infinity stone in his head 'training' to be an Avenger? He's running off of one of the most powerful things in the universe, I think he's got this. It felt like Whedon didn't care, even the tag scene felt rushed, like Thanos was in the middle of a conversation we didn't see. I just didnt like the direction this movie took things, and I worry it will carry over into the other films and mess up the storyline.
  4. I was so sad when I thought Ben was leaving, but damn if he didn't terrify me two seconds later when he brought down Dan! There's a real difference in the generations. Dan, Amy, and Jonah may talk a good game, but Ben, Kent, and Selina will straight up cut you. And then go read a children's book. This show is very good at making you forget how ruthless Washington is. One week it's just an embarrassing party, the next week someone gets taken out.
  5. It was a little jarring to see the different set and those couple of new people, and I'm still not sure where the show is time-wise, but I still think I just experienced the funniest 29 minutes of my life. Sorry about the extra page.
  6. As much as I enjoyed Jon performing the Westeros version of dropping the mike, was that really the wisest decision? Stannis was the only one to respond to the killer zombie notice you sent out; maybe just let him do his thing and keep him happy. Bigger picture here guys!
  7. When Jacqueline's dad said the line about crying over the litter I almost died. I loved how unexpected her backstory was! I assumed they were going with I similar story to 30 rock, with Jane's character being from a white trash/hillbilly family, but this was unexpected and sweet- she still has her medallion!
  8. I'm actually thankful for the closing credit montage. I had honestly forgotten about the Everything is Awesome performance. It felt longer than normal.
  9. I'm torn between the beautiful portraits and film clips. I think I prefer clips because it shows them at work. Also, 'too many people died last year'. Sorry for the Anchorman quote, it was the most appropriate one I could think of.
  10. Felicity Jones can really suck the joy that radiates from Pratt, can't she.
  11. Oh come on! No love for dancing baby groot and a talking raccoon?
  12. Naked NPH was awesome, mostly because I watched Birdman immediately after Whiplash, and kept thinking that kid was going to pop out somewhere. So. many. drums.
  13. Kinda boring so far. But bravo to whoever designed the set. That opening number's background action and Maroon Five's lights were very pretty.
  14. I think my biggest problem was that he just wasn't a good detective. These curmudgeonly character shows only work if the character is also good at his job. But Backstrom was just a drunk who barely came to work and shot himself by accident trying to stop the bad guy. That martial arts cop was basically his bodyguard. Honestly, the show played like a Castle-type show where there is a civilian paired with law enforcement, instead of like House where he gets the job done and wants to help people, he just thinks people around him are idiots. I agree about the writing. It didn't sound how normal people talk; it was very distracting.
  15. After hearing all the hubbub about the Lego Movie snub I finally saw it last night. I enjoyed it, and thought it was very creative animation-wise. But I can see how a committee of animators might think it doesn't fit with the other animated films of the year. I won't go so far to say it's a groundbreaking/ahead of its time kind of film, but it certainly is different. My question is how they are going to perform the song? There were a few different versions in the film. If it did win, it would have to be the coolest win since It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp a few years ago. Who'd ever think they'd say 'Andy Samberg, Oscar winner'?
  16. I try to wait to see any potential nominated movies because I go to the AMC best picture marathon. Excited to see the ones that were chosen. It does always seem like a slap in the face to the other potential nominees when they end up with less than ten. But I am glad I don't have to watch Gone Girl again.
  17. I don't watch Downton Abbey, so I had no idea who Hugh Bonneville was, but every time he was on screen I couldn't stop laughing! The way he enunciated 'Just not of the actual sea' made me giggle so much I had to rewatch the song a couple of times to hear the other jokes.
  18. What's up with the side stairs and the camera? Are people not allowed to go up the main staircase?
  19. Of all the many awesome moments of this episode, I think my favorite was the cold open. In the pilot Holt used Jake's thong moment against him. But now he is a full participant in the office antics, and allows Jake to hide behind his desk after his mishap, together in their pants-less predicament.
  20. I agree in the Shailene Woodley hate. Most actresses have a special feature that makes them stand out, but there's something so bland about her face. She's like a blank piece of paper, so boring that I can't even pay attention to her acting. For a new name, I'm throwing out Ellen Page. At first I thought it wasn't her fault, I just hated Juno and thought she was miscast in the XMen movies. But she doesn't fit in any of her movies. Can an actor be miscast in every role?
  21. Finally caught up- loved the kid and Henry's salad plans! One thing that threw me was the flashback with the boss and Henry. Based on previous eps I saw Henry as someone who had not been with the company forever, like they had brought him in the last few years to spice things up brand-wise. The boss didn't seem to have any sort of familiar relationship with Henry (like when he read in the magazine that Asians like to hug and Henry just went with it to make him happy). I do like the idea of the two of them having a past and a close relationship, like the elders of the company, so I hope they continue down this road. I feel like they haven't quite figuered out the boss' backstory yet.
  22. I thought the first two episodes were cute, but this line hooked and reeled me in. Also, the last scene brought a tiny tear. The perfect combination. Which means it will be promptly cancelled, but I will enjoy it while it lasts. I think the key to this ep was the greater role of the supporting characters. My favorite was the boss, who I didn't care for much in the pilot, but now I really want to know what makes him tick. Who takes a Channing Tatum relationship article and uses it as workplace tool? This guy!
  23. He reminds me of Abed Nadir of Community. Not the actor, Danny Pudi, but the character. It's the way he turns his head. Poor Nate- get away from Annalise! You're going to get fired.
  24. I liked this ep better than the pilot, but my biggest issue is that the show runners haven't really found the essence of the show yet. Between the changes from the online pilot and the aired pilot, and even to this second episode, I would think they should have had enough focus group feedback to pin down the basics. Things I'd play with: Pick a comedy style and stick with it. With the 30 Rock flashback jokes, the VO, and the pop up texts, there's just too much. Beef up your supporting characters: except for Charmonique, who was in the ep for two seconds, there aren't any other supporting characters with any dimension. It'll be hard to keep the show going on just the two leads, no matter how awesome cho and kg are. Otherwise, it's a cute show. I liked how he knew she was in the hospital by her hospital bed selfie. That's usually how I hear about my friends misfortunes as well. And I like that it's moving toward a middle ground, with Eliza teaching Henry what she's learned about navigating the social networking world and not just being the helpless one. Superficial note: I like her new wig much better!
  25. I so want to do drills with a white board! Tick, tick, tick... suspicious backpack. It feels like the show never left- although I did forget about the Gina/Boyle thing.
