  1. I agree that KC didn’t really sound like Samantha—but I’m wondering if that was an intentional choice on her part, a sort of FU way of saying I’ll bring Samantha if you meet my demands, but you won’t truly get the real Samantha. Or maybe she was just phoning it in (no pun intended). Would have preferred her appearance to be at the end, as well. And add me to the list of those who were confused by Aidan’s 5 year plan. I completely understand having your kids as your absolute first priority, but they don’t need to be your only priority. It’s unreasonable for a parent of teens to literally never leave town/the house just because they might need you (and I say this as a mom of a son almost exactly Wyatt’s age). Surely there was some middle ground between Aidan constantly running back and forth from NY and essentially chaining himself to the farmhouse? So they’re just on old for the next 5 years, or…?
  2. The little moments in that scene were perfection—I loved Roy singing along and Trent’s legs tapping to the music. And the look on Ted’s face when he realized what was happening.
  3. I hear you, I’m an East coaster and currently debating whether to stay up til 1:30am to watch tonight or just wait til tomorrow night. If I thought I could successfully avoid spoilers, I’d wait, but between my co-workers, my FB feed, etc, it’s very likely I won’t make it through the day tomorrow without hearing about it.
  4. There is some speculation that it has to do with some “official” watch parties in LA, but that hasn’t been confirmed in any official capacity.
  5. Brendan Hunt’s tweet earlier today essentially confirmed that the finale would truly drop at 9pm Pacific, unlike in past weeks.
  6. Some of the physical comedy/sight gags were pretty funny, as well. Susie fighting off and running from the police officers in the park, Moishe and Shirley falling and flailing in the bathroom.
  7. Still processing. Can’t believe it’s over. I agree with those who weren’t blown away by Midge’s tight 4 (or just under 4, per Shirley’s pocket watch!). Given that this was what seemingly catapulted Midge into the stratosphere, I expected it to be amazing, and while it had its funny moments, I didn’t think it was Midge’s A game. Loved seeing the automat! And Midge’s calls to share the news—the look on Joel’s face when he hung up the phone with Midge after hearing that she was going to be on show, and Abe’s as well. Of course Rose assumed Midge didn’t care to tell her, but getting all the calls and realizing how hard Midge tried to reach her was a nice moment. Appreciated the tiny glimpses of Imogene and Mrs. Moskowitz. The starting Lenny scene (his last scene in the chronological show universe) was so sad. As was the extended cut of Midge wandering all alone through her huge, empty home. It was nice to see that Midge and Suzy reconnected in an apparently meaningful way though. Suzy being the ecentric bird lady seems about right! Thought the fade to black ending was a bit too Soprano-esque and my initial impression was that I didn’t love it.
  8. I agree that there was a distinct lack of actual Ted in this episode, but his impact was woven in throughout—the Ted-isms, the corny jokes, the Army man. It feels intentional that Ted himself is a waning physical presence but has a lasting impact on everyone in his circle. Jamie wearing #24 on the national team and Higgins being convinced that the Willy Wonka kids were all murdered, were the best parts of what felt like a very on-the-nose episode in too many ways.
  9. Highly recommend watching a second time to catch all the small and/or subtle moments it’s easy to miss on the first watch. Beard’s dramatic faint when Roy paid the team a compliment, the way Keeley and Rebecca were bopping their heads in unison as Ted sang his awful song in Rebecca’s office, the look between Nate and Rupert when Rupert helped himself to the (symbolic?) baklava, the hilarious randomness of the commentators during the game, Ted’s indirect “that’s what she said” when Higgins said the size of the press crowd was big after their win.
  10. Wow—so many moments both big and small were packed into this episode. Jade seemed to have Rupert’s number immediately, and it seems Nate is starting to take off the blinders there as well. The team’s reaction to Colin was expected but still nice to see. Ted’s Broncos fan analogy was…clunky, but I appreciated his take that they “don’t not care”. Roy’s press conference was a total “student becomes the teacher” moment. Loved how he called the Independent reporter new Trent. And the briefest shot of Keeley just after Roy finished speaking at the presser, spoke a thousand words.
  11. Perhaps Midge could use a good maritime lawyer? 🤔😂
  12. Agreed. And to nitpick, but why would Nate’s father have listed the distances in miles and not kilometers? Thought all the switches were hilarious-Will as Coach Beard was hysterical, and Dani and Isaac’s impressions of each other were LOL-worthy as well. Not a fan of the whole string bit, but the look on Roy’s face when Jamie was checking himself after the string being ripped off, almost completely redeemed it. Loved that Jamie was the one to have the breakthrough about how to execute Total Football. Also loved Trent’s observation that TF would work because they’d really been working on it for the entire Lasso tenure in the lessons he’s imparted to them. Things are starting to come full circle as we approach the home stretch.
  13. I could have done without 1.5 full viewings of the 3-act waste management musical. 🙃. But given that Midge clearly understood Susie’s relationship with the mob guys, would it have killed her to just suck it up and play along? And is Susie really so naive that she thought one favor would make her even with the guys? Did not see it coming that Gordon Ford’s wife was “Susan”’s ex. Maybe Gordon’s explanation to Midge that he and his wife have “an arrangement” is more complicated than the nonsense excuse it initially seemed? I laughed harder than I should have when the playwright confirmed that the play really was just about his childhood and his dog (after being literally dragged from his table by Rose!), and I was glad to see that Abe was at least a bit humbled/contrite in the end. Really hoping we haven’t seen the last of Lenny! Though given that we’ve already seen Midge’s future, it seems that he doesn’t factor into her life in any meaningful way. But I’m holding out hope that we’ll see him at least one more time, since Luke Kirby is amazing playing him and he and Midge have awesome chemistry.
  14. I also dislike that they made Midge into a fairly absent/limited parent, but I also think it’s at least partly due to the schedules/maximum hours and unpredictability of the tiny kid actors. At least that’s what I tell myself!
  15. I liked how tiny Esther’s marching back to her own bed after Midge took her out of it when she came home in the early hours, seemed to be an indirect reference to Esther telling her therapist about how Midge bothers her at 4am with no consideration for others. Some things never change.
