  1. Selena started out on Barney then jumped to the Disney Channel as a teenager before she started singing. I’ve always thought of her as an actress who sings, funny to see others think the reverse. I thought Ben was speaking with Loretta. He had some real animosity towards her in the premiere and I’m waiting for that to come back into play. Wonder if Loretta and Ben’s brother were getting close (professionally) and Ben didn’t like it?
  2. The only reason I find the Sebastian Sanger story even remotely interesting is because I’ve missed seeing Joseph Morgan on my screen, and it’s great seeing him play a role different than I’m used to. I’m already enjoying this season more than the last. There’s so many questions but the story is interesting so I don’t mind waiting for the answers.
  3. I was watching Dan Murrell’s review of the finale and he made a point that though the episode made it a point to subvert the usual MCU tropes, it fell victim to the newest trope - the last minute villain reveal. I hadn’t thought about it but every Disney+ show (except I think Ms. Marvel) has had a surprise villain reveal in the finale. I suppose the episode was filmed before the pattern was noticeable. I really enjoyed the finale and I’m glad they waited until now to go this crazy with it.
  4. What was the twist? Can you spoiler tag it? I love Florence Pugh, but not enough to pay these obnoxiously high ticket prices.
  5. I’ve been hoping that Bucky and Yelena would cross paths at some point so I’m happy to see that they’ll both be in this movie. They have a similar story in that they both spent years as mind controlled assassins, but now they’ve taken drastically different paths since gaining their freedom. It could be an interesting source of friction with Yelena not understanding why Bucky feels guilt for things done by the Winter Soldier and Bucky not understanding why Yelena is still working as an assassin when she could be doing anything else. I really hope that however they handle their interactions, it doesn’t turn romantic. Now is Yelena actually leading the team, or is Florence Pugh just the star of the movie? IMO it would make more sense for it to be the latter, and have Bucky as team leader since he’s the only one with team experience, but ymmv.
  6. ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Shea Couleé Joins Marvel Studios’ ‘Ironheart’ Series I’ve never seen RuPaul’s Drag Race and I know nothing about the Ironheart comics so I’m interested to see where the show is going to go.
  7. I haven’t seen this, but I watched the Pitch Meeting and it seems like it’s a movie just made to establish a franchise. With so many unanswered questions I’m just going to wait for the sequel at this point.
  8. Ms. Marvel’s villain, The Inventor sounds fun and I kind of wish they’d done him instead of the Clandestines. Was he not a good villain?
  9. That’s more like Easter eggs that’ll only be noticed by people who read/are familiar with comics. Phase 1-3 spoon fed the buildup. We’re literally told an Avengers team will be created. You see Thanos with the gauntlet and the Infinity stones start popping up. But Val never gave the impression she was creating a team the way Fury did and as of right now there are no on screen connections between the Young Avengers.
  10. I can understand why expecting an Endgame type buildup is unreasonable at this point. But even phase 1 had a clear direction. It was building towards The Avengers. Then after The Avengers they started the buildup to Endgame. I personally don’t need every movie to be part of some grand plan. But I can understand why some fans are frustrated with the lack of direction because the MCU has been set up that way from the beginning.
  11. Pitch meeting for the movie. As typical for Pitch Meeting, it mentions the main complaints about the movie.
  12. I keep feeling like I’m missing something because I hear complaints about TW going over the top, but this didn’t feel anymore comedic than Ragnarok. I could have done with less Korg, but other than that the humor didn’t bother me. I enjoyed the movie but the pacing felt off. In the first half of the movie I felt like we had skipped some scenes. I wanted to see how Jane and Valkyrie met and it seemed like Valkyrie was aware of her diagnosis. I also wanted to see how Gorr figured out he needed Stormbreaker to get to Eternity. That felt kind of random. I really liked NP as Mighty Thor and her dorky excitement at being a superhero. The montage of Jane & Thor’s relationship (loved Thor in the hot dog costume) made me more invested in them than their scenes in Thor 1 & 2. Valhalla was a good send off but I wouldn’t mind seeing her again either. Thor seemed like a good leader this movie. He doesn’t always know the right thing to say but he takes charge and did a good job inspiring the kids. I thought the girl Thor adopted at the end was another member of the Young Avengers, but it seems she’s just Hemsworth’s daughter. Though I suppose she could be recruited at some point if the MCU makes changes to the roster.
  13. I remember hearing that the original plan for WandaVision had Strange reaching out to Wanda. That’s what the commercials were supposed to be, Strange trying to break through. And then he would have appeared at the end, I think in a post credits scene. Supposedly it was scrapped because they didn’t want Strange’s appearance to take away from Wanda’s story. But in hindsight this just isolated her which made it easier to cast her into the villain role in MoM.
  14. Telling the truth could have been a good idea. But I think Kamala knows if she’d come clean her parents would take the bangle away. I was getting Mysterio vibes from Najma so it wasn’t surprising when she turned. This episode also reminded me a bit of Hawkeye. The scene where Muneeba helps Kamala bandage her knee is similar to when Eleanor helps Kate with her bandages. And in Kamala’s fight with the Djinn she managed to hold her own against an opponent with much more experience and strength - similar to Kate’s fight with Kingpin. I can’t wait for the two to meet. A lot of the show’s ads made it seem as if the show would have high school as a big part but it seems like family is more important to the show and because of that I’m enjoying this show much more than I thought I would.
  15. I think the keyword is “should know”. When I first saw the scene I took it at face value that Wanda had discovered real versions of her kids in the multiverse and they were calling out for help. So it felt like there was this big offscreen development where Wanda skipped from finding a way to rescue her kids to just kidnapping someone else’s. I’ve seen Agents of SHIELD so I’m familiar with the effects of the Darkhold and she was in isolation for around a year and a half (which can also be tough), so I bought her as a villain, but I can see why others thought it was a leap.
  16. Weeks late, but I really enjoyed this episode. I couldn’t believe they got everyone, even Marcel and Kol, back. I liked the funeral idea, but I felt bad for Elijah. He died too, but they barely mentioned him. But it was like when Klaus and Elijah were alive so I shouldn’t be surprised. I’m glad Hope’s friends and family are the impetus for getting her humanity back. I don’t mind Landon but it’s nice to see familial love take precedence (for now). I wish we had gotten to learn more about Kaleb’s backstory during his trip home. They’ve shown glimpses of when he first turned but never the full story. It was a nice little side quest and reminder that Kaleb has a supportive family unlike most of the “Super Squad”.
  17. I’ll throw in with the unpopular opinions and say that I hope that Jay can communicate with the ghosts next season too. I’ve felt bad for him all season standing off to the side staring into the distance while Sam has conversations with the ghosts. Even if he can only hear but not see them, it’d be an interesting new dynamic. Aside from @iMonrey point that the writers don’t want to offend Native Americans, what do you think a 16th century Native American accent should sound like? It’s easier to develop the character as someone who’d keep up with the changes in language and sound modern. Now I’m hoping at some point next season we hear Sass has started picking up slang from the shows he’s been watching. Really glad the commentors on Abbot Elementary recommended this show as another great first season comedy. I wouldn’t have checked it out otherwise. It’s been a great first season and I can’t wait for the fall.
  18. Yeah, the best thing about the episode was the preview for next week. Not that this was a bad episode, I’m just glad it looks they might be acknowledging some obvious things. But I’ll be happily surprised if it isn’t the therapy box. It’s been interesting to see Alaric be so harsh with Hope. You can’t blame him, but before when things were better he used to treat her better than his own daughters, so the dynamic shift is a bit jarring. It took me the entire episode to realize the guy who plays Ken used to be on Agents of SHIELD and now I can’t unsee it. Looking forward to him showing up in the present day.
  19. I also really liked it. Less than Free Guy but still very good. Curious how the third movie in the Reynolds/Levy trilogy (Deadpool 3) will compare to these two. I loved the fight scene where Laura and Adam meet up for the first time in 2022. I’m a sucker for couples that are badass fighters and work well together. I liked how both Adam’s were able to give each other a new perspective. Young Adam reminded Older Adam of the good times with their dad and Older Adam encouraged Younger Adam to be better to their mom. It makes sense that there are memories that fade with age and actions in our past we wish we could change. It wasn’t obvious, but both Adams remembered what happened right? It seemed like there was a lightbulb moment where the new memories set it.
  20. It doesn’t matter if the show is any good, just whether people are watching it. I don’t know the ratings but the CW almost never outright cancels a show. Shows are usually given a final season to wrap things up. But with the network in limbo who knows how things will play out this year. The only thing I found interested was Hope/Lizzie. Having Lizzie sired to Hope is a cop out but they have the best dynamic so I can deal with it because it’s the only plot I find interesting right now. I hate the Ted/Alaric/Landon plot so much. But I guess they need something to do. It was only a matter of time before they did gods I guess. Anything is better than Malivore.
  21. Steve told Bucky what he planned to do. They didn’t make it explicitly clear because they wanted to hide the surprise reveal of Old Steve. But based on Steve and Bucky’s last conversation you can see that Bucky knew Steve wasn’t coming back. I don’t know if Buck “gave his permission” for Steve to go or if Steve just straight up told him the plan but it would have been nice to know what the conversation was and Bucky’s feelings about moving on without Steve.
  22. @Cobalt Stargazer I’ve never seen any official word but for example the article linked above theorizes that Doctor Strange could be the next leader of the Avengers. But as you pointed out that doesn’t make much sense. Having Rhodes take over is actually a good idea, I’m just curious how much longer Cheadle will be around after Armor Wars.
