  1. LOL, I could get behind that, but there's no way I'd want these showrunners to even sniff in the direction of anything Princess Bride. Just No. Fabulous alternate head canon for sure though!
  2. I would have much preferred SR too. The only thing I've ever liked NM in is Agent Carter. He always plays the creepy psycho villain and that's just never been my thing. ETA: The announcement of him being a regular means S4 is likely to be a long slog for me.
  3. Slightly OT, but all this talk of height leaves me wondering if anyone here listens to The Mystery Show podcast. The most recent episode was all about this - sorta. They were trying to find out how tall Jake Gyllenhaal actually is versus his stated height and actually tracked him down in person (and didn't get the answer) but he did call in and eventually reveal all. It's amazing how closely guarded some actors can be about their actual height and how they "officially" lie about it in bios, etc., if they don't fit the classic 6-foot-whatever ideal. I'm a 5ft shorty, so the entire concept of being that neurotic about how tall you are seems a bit bizarre, and the podcast sort of illuminated how ridiculous and hilarious it all is. It was pretty entertaining and The Mystery Show is a great podcast. (for anyone interested http://gimletmedia.com/episode/case-5-source-code/ )
  4. I have zero interest in seeing Ray Palmer ever again, but fear he'll appear on all three shows. *sigh*
  5. Even though many here have mentioned the person making the tweet in question has been nasty in the past, taken at face value, the original tweet wasn't "hate". That person said they liked SA, but so-in-so would have been the perfect Casey Jones. That's not hate. It's one person's opinion. Granted, they should have just typed his name instead of tagging him, but if he keeps track of and reads tweets about himself, not just those tagged, he would have seen it anyway. If you're in that business, you have to have a thick skin (which he presumably does most of the time), but his petulant response likely would have been more applicable to actual nasty tweets instead of that person's opinion about who they'd like to see in the role. I don't know when it happened, but the idea that we should all expect to make it through the day without being offended by something or someone has become an epidemic.
  6. I listen to both Arrow Squad and Green Justice. Green Justice is good as they're not apologists for the show and constructively criticize when it's warranted. Not all podcasts do that and I prefer those that aren't just fangirly about it all even when it sucks.
  7. OMG, THIS! The EPs can't handle continuity in real time, or non-time travel-ish conditions. (See: Roy left in a smoldering heap after being electrocuted by Ray while Oliver and Ray head off to grab a beer or whatever...LOL) I have VERY little confidence in this time travel stuff boding well for Flash and Arrow. Do we really believe they'd resist the temptation to get a "do over" on some things by using the ability to alter the timeline, or just try something different than what they've done so far? I don't, and there is not enough handwaving in the world to cover the absolute sh*tstorm that would generate.
  8. If it truly turns into the Laurel show, I'm out. I'll fast forward her to a point, but if she's the center of the Arrowverse this season, it's a pass...I don't care how pretty Stephen is. LOL.
  9. I'm positive that's what we'll get. If this show has taught me anything, it's that the EPs have an uncanny ability to give the audience a healthy dose of whatever many *don't* want each season, sprinkled with bits of things we do. Although, they also have a tendency to hype things that turn out to be underwhelming onscreen. For all the BTS pics and talk of the Dyla wedding last season, when it hit the screen it was like 20 seconds. So, I guess I'll expect the worst (for me) which would be an overabundance of Laurel, and hope for the best - they're talking up "more Laurel" it so maybe it won't be as much as I fear.
  10. I guess I don't see how an actor's posts on social media have anything to do with their performance on the show. If you watch the show, all that matters is the talent they bring to the role. Following them on twitter is optional so you're not subjected to anything they do outside the show unless you follow them. SB is a great actor and does villains very well. I'd love to have him on Arrow. OMG! Oded Fehr would be fabulous. I LOVED him on Covert Affairs. I think he's been cast on Stitchers though, but not sure how long that role is. I got excited when I saw the casting news, but just can't bring myself to watch Stitchers.
  11. IDK, When they brought it up on Arrow ("Seeing Red") that was all about Moira and the lengths she'd go to for her children, etc. The point wasn't really Oliver and the baby mama. They were used as exposition for Moira (and further show how he'd screwed around on Laurel). Because the baby mama left with the money for Central City, there's a possibility the appearance/reference to the kid on Flash was just an Easter Egg as they don't intend on addressing it again on Arrow. Personally, I hope they don't do it...the soapy drama they already do on Arrow is enough. Also, I'm not interested in all the Lauriver rehashing we'd have to suffer through as a result of the kid's existence being addressed on Arrow. Just no.
  12. So Colin Donnell will be throwing out the first pitch at a home Cardinals game this weekend. https://www.facebook.com/colindonnell/posts/10153391348720281 Super cool for him as he's a massive fan, but have to admit I immediately thought of the added bonus - he beat Stephen to it (and after all the campaigning he's done with the Jays...LOL). Colin's on a roll - getting married and experiencing one of the greatest things for an MLB fan all in the span of a week!
  13. Yeah, that's the vibe I got. Does he want Donaldson in there because he really believes he's the best, or because he likes the power he has on social media and enjoys the attention he'd get from unleashing his fans on MLB...Seems like maybe both motives are at least equal after today's tweets. Note to Stephen, your ego's showing there dude.
  14. They added the home field advantage decision fairly recently..I'd say maybe between 5 and 10 years? At any rate, now that they have changed it, it should change the "showcase" aspect of the game as well and put the current most productive players in there. It'd be like picking "popular" athletes to represent in the Olympics. Granted, it's not the Olympics, but you want the best when there's something riding on it. Re: BOS vs KC: There are countless examples like you made - teams on paper that should be fantastic on the field and just aren't for a number of reasons or own a specific team. However, this terrible BOS team (on the field and stats) still killed the "All Stars" (KC) on the field. The KC players nominated to the ASG DON'T have the best numbers and they also looked incapable of winning home field advantage for the AL. To still keep it on topic-ish, it really was quite a feat for SA to nearly close the gap for Donaldson in the span of a week...even his inner fratboy gets things done..LOL
  15. I can understand this "popular vote" process if it was just about who the fans wanted to see all on the field together, but they've made it about home field advantage in the World Series for the winner of the ASG. Even though my team won't come anywhere near the playoffs this year, as an American League fan, I'm not confident the AL can win home field advantage with a KC heavy lineup. My terrible Red Sox killed them this past weekend and made them look awful. If it was just about a showcase of popular players with nothing riding on it, then have at it with the popular vote - but when it's to earn something as important as home field advantage, each league should have their BEST players out there, regardless of how popular or fantastic they are to watch.
