Super Bowl X for me. My neighborhood was FULL of boys, and we were all very into sports from a very young age. That game was Steelers over Cowboys, with Lynn Swan winning the MVP.

Super Bowl X is a great one to have as your first. I remember it being on, but not paying much attention to it, other than Swann's catches.

Oddly enough, the thing that got me into the NFL (and the Super Bowl) was some commemorative SB magazines that McDonald's put out in 1977*:

    * Which I just found on Ebay for $15, and bought.

Now that this Super Bowl is over, what was your *first*?

Super Bowl XII, Cowboys vs Broncos

It was the only time I've ever rooted for the Cowboys. (I was mad at the Broncos for beating the Raiders in the AFC championship)

  3. Dan Campbell just LeeRoy Jenkins'd himself out of a trip to the Super Bowl.

No dog in the fight, but another Mahomes/Chiefs win feels inevitable.

Panthers stadium is a day trip for me but Hurricanes require an overnight stay. Haven’t bought a Panthers ticket in over two years. This will be our 2nd year seeing the Hurricanes.

    I get it.

I can't get behind the Canes thing, though. If we have to be miserable in Charlotte, I want them to be miserable in Raleigh.

  5. The Panthers fired the GM of a 2-15 team, and replaced him with the Assistant GM of the same 2-15 team.

  6. Bucs are a division rival, but I'm happy for Baker Mayfield. He was a class act during his time in Carolina, even though our franchise was/is a dumpster fire.

I was just coming to mention that.  Not a surprise either, but talk abt owner priviledge when in fact, it was Tepper who was making most of the player/personnel decisions.

Tepper is a clown, but Fitterer definitely had to go.

He traded multiple picks for Sam Darnold, and last years trade-up with Chicago looks historically bad. And the offensive line (which he built) was basically a disaster.

GM's rarely survive going 14-37, no matter how bad the owner is.

  8. I'm sure TLC will milk this show for every penny they can, but at this point, it just feels like it's over. Watching Kody and Robyn on that couch just reinforced the fact that I never want to see either of them on my tv screen again.

I don't mind Christine, Janelle and Meri, but I really just wanted them to get away from Kody. And they have. Roll credits.

I can get the rest from Instagram. Or not.

I watch alot of Podcaster & analysts for the team, and most keep talking abt Ben Johnson or Old Khaki Pants like it's a done deal.

I'm talking about fans that buy tickets and own PSL's. Tepper is 0-2 in hiring coaches, and nobody has any confidence he'll get it right this time.

Ben Johnson has put it out there that he wants $15million/year, and everyone knows that Tepper won't even blink at that. So he'll be in the mix. But if the Patriots or Commanders are also willing to pay that price, he's probably not coming here.

And some Panthers fans think they're going to get Ben Johnson for coach?

Actually, most Panthers fans think that nobody decent will want to come here, and the next ten years look like a hellish doomscape of Dan Snyder-esque fan exoduses.

    (Others are less optimistic)

  11. I realize that Green Bay's defense is terrible, but it was great to see Bryce Young have a good game. All we're looking for is a little hope here in Charlotte.

  12. Frank Reich fired.

Not surprising. Now the terrible owner who is 0-2 on coaching hires had to do it again.

I've got to hand it to David Tepper. He's somehow made the 5-10 Charlotte Hornets the toast of the town. 🙄

The pass d in particular which has sucked for 3 weeks

Yeah, but they weren't playing the Panthers those three weeks.

We've cured a lot of defenses this year.

Texans have 9 sacks all season- 6 against Carolina.

I think it's up to interpretation whether the Usher siblings needed Verna to cover up their murder of Rufus.  Their plan was not the most fool-proof to start.  They were banking on no one from the party witnessing either Usher sibling leave the party, no one catching Madeline with Rufus, and none of the construction crew realizing someone came in and did part of their job while they were on break.  They may have dosed the wine correctly, but Madeline's hands were all over that bottle, and the construction site, the handcuffs, and Rufus.

True, but the very first thing Verna offers is that they'll never be convicted of anything.  Which probably sounds pretty good, right after killing your boss.

Instead, it seemed like Roderick and Madeline were already mostly in the clear and had a viable plan in action.

Were they really in the clear? Their "viable plan" was to create an alibi at a bar that didn't exist, with witnesses who didn't exist,

Tyrod Taylor is a backup because some clown stabbed him in the lung.

That was messed up, but the Chargers had just drafted Justin Herbert.  Taylor was headed for the bench, regardless.
