  1. I'm surprised that these religious organizations are still being suckered in by the Duggars. I would think they would have wised up to see that all these courtships/marriages/pregnancies/instagrams are a ploy to do damage control to their brand and to extend the life of a reality TV show and thereby lining their pockets as opposed to being for altruistic reasons. But as long as there are daughters and there are unemployed suitors out there, the show will live on.
  2. Not sure what forum this should go under (feel free to move) but was wondering what everyone had for predictions for 2016 for the Duggars Will we get a Josh redemption tour or another scandal? Who will win the race between Jill and Jessa to get pregnant again? Will any unemployed suitors be dragged in to court one of the daughters? How much will be paid out to make the Josh court cases go away? Will we see more Duggars on TLC? Will any of the kids escape? Interested to see what everyone thinks....
  3. Not sure if this has been addressed, but I have always been curious who is responsible for the scrubbing of the comments in social media that are either negative or not in line with the Duggar's philosophy. I doubt that the girls do their own pages or any of the kids do the Facebook family blog account since I can't imagine Jim-Bob wanting them to get any outside opinions. I also doubt they would actually pay someone to do this, so it is likely someone who has been volunteered. This came up when a picture was posted then removed due to criticism. Was wondering who made that call and did the work.
  4. Hopefully no one fills them in on the Marci/Peppermint Patty relationship or Lucy trying to defraud Schroeder. Count me among those who will not be partaking in the specials. I refuse to do anything that could potentially put one penny into Jim-Bob's pocket. Will enjoy the feedback here. Thanks to those taking one for the team!
  5. I could picture him saying "If it was over the clothes, the case should be closed" or "If they were asleep, a cent they should not reap" Question for the Mods: Would it be possible to create a separate Forum for the Legal discussion? I had a dream it was called The Duggar Courtroom, so I have been reading too much about these oxy-morons. Thanks!
  6. I spy with my little eye.. A copy of "Growing up Duggar" in the background of the SImon and Schuster Office. I guess all these TLC personalities use the same publishers. It was pretty sad hearing about Will's difficulties in college. People can really suck sometimes.
  7. I don't think that the experts were called out enough on the location/distance issue with Sean and Davina (or if they were it was edited out). Davina had a life and career and even set a hard limit on staying in Manhattan. Sean had a life and career about 2-3 hours away and even though he did say he was willing to relocate, I doubt he would have signed off on relocating that far. Although the relationship likely wouldn't of worked anyways, I wanted to scream at the experts when they pissed and moaned that they only spent 10 days together since they were the ones who made the decision. It would be difficult to make that work for 2 people who were together for years and knew each other and even worse for strangers.
  8. Given the severity of what happened, I did have a sliver of hope that this matter would not be politicized, but it looks like that boat has sailed. I don't blame Fox News entirely, if the shoe was on the other foot MSNBC would be doing the exact same thing. Now that the curtain has been pulled back on the family,I hope that this will provide a clearer path should any of these children choose to pursue a life outside of the compound. I don't see any scenario where JB & M will come out with a favorable result. All of the tears and forgiveness and prayer cannot trump the fact that 5 children were abused and none of the adults involved did anything to protect them. If this is meant to be a trial balloon for TLC to make a decision on future Duggar relationships, it will hopefully cement cutting the cord with them.
  9. While I wouldn't put it past the Duggars to use a child's medical condition (or "glitch") as a story line on a reality TV show, I am surprised they allowed that segment to be aired. As Image conscious as they are, it did paint them in a bad light. Knowing your child is in a fragile condition it seems negligent for BOTH parents to leave town and have an older child left in charge. Then to come parading in after the fact just left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, for a family that preaches being humble, they sure do LOVE to brag about how absolutely fabulous everything they do is.
  10. I have really enjoyed the show so far, usually get a good laugh or 2 each time . I try not to get too wrapped up in the winners and losers as it seems to be for entertainment only. I will continue watching as long as they have good guests on. I am hoping they don't end up having to have any Real Housewives or reality show retreads like Kate Gosselin and Lisa Rinna. I will probably check out at that point.
