If you haven't seen it yet go to YouTube and search for Burning Love.

Kyle Richards, her friend of 25 years was asked if Bethenny had changed and she said the only difference from when they met until now is Bethenny use to be poor.

I've heard that too!  I don't really think that's accurate though.  How much communication do they really have living on each coast?  Anyone can hold it together for a phone call, texts, emails or short, busy visits 4x/year.  What is Kyle supposed to say?  "Yeah, she is much more bitter and churlish now."  She knows that if she did publicly say that and then "owned it," Bethenny would eviscerate her.

This episode wasn't entertaining to me.  As a fan of the MDL franchise, I like Fredrik.  I've always found him to be good-natured, light-hearted, and funny.  I dislike all of the Real Housewives shows, and that seems like where Bethenny belongs.  She's a gross, loud-mouthed, no class woman...so unlikable.  I hate the way she treats and talks to Fredrik, and not in a "character that I love to hate" kind of way.

Bethenny was different during her first stint on the Real Housewives NYC.  She was far less angry and unyielding.  She was brash and tough but far less so.  She's been through a lot in the last few years and I think it's changed her.

I meant his face fell, and then his whole head dropped down. It was so weird.

When I said that his face shut down, I also meant that his face fell.   Everything was going well in a conversation about their feelings and then one of the ladies would say something then he would suddenly look dejected.

I thought the absolute opposite. His face shut down like a bank after her declaration and his head actually dropped! He then looked really disappointed and had to get up and walk away - no doubt for counselling with the producers.

Or else he's just horrified his hard-to-get cold Hitchcockian blonde actually likes him, spoiling his game.

I thought he had a shut-down-face several times with different women that left me confused.

Sheesh, Arie and Lauren are perfect together. I mean, have you ever seen two more boring people? The cameras have shown us nothing of substance in their convo so far--no "what do you want out of life", for example--and yet they each think the other is amazing

I will say, Lauren rocked the heck out of that backless dress. Odd to me, though, that she would call attention to herself with the way she dresses sometimes, considering how reticent she is.

Oh my God, NO!!!  I am completely missing when he and Lauren built up to their deep "in-love-ness."

It sounded like Oleg to me. Which would need explaining, since he's in Russia (or was last we saw) and doesn't know Philip or work with Illegals. But of course, it could be misdirect. Oleg might be talking to some person in Russia saying that and they just put it in this clip. Maybe Claudia's going rogue again.

Second comment I put in the spoiler thread.

It did sound like Oleg.  It's been three years, he may be in charge of the Residentura by now for all we know, it which case, just like Arkady, he would work with illegals.

I thought the man's voice was different than Oleg's in that it sounded older more authoritative.   In listening to it again, it may possibly be Oleg especially if has risen  in the ranks of the Party.

  8. So many questions!!

Who was that man?   He can't be from the Center since she wouldn't do anything without them, right?

What is she doing?  Maybe we are seeing the cracks in the government (it's 1984 now, I think) and she think the Center is getting soft or disorganized so she's starting to do things on her own that are like "the old days" to stay true to the original cause.

I have always loved that Barefoot in the Park. To this day I always imagine Richard Thomas's inflections on all the lines I saw it so many times. "Oh no, just for very formal sleeps!"

Obviously this is an old post!  I'm just tooling around The Americans forum and saw your response.

I also love the film version with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford!!  I looked it up online and it brought up things about both versions.  High schools are putting on the play!!  I didn't know that!!  That is very cool!!!  I would definitely go to see it at one of the schools known for putting on excellent plays and musicals in my area.

It is a staple here in the south!  Of course some restaurants make it better than others.  I've tried it, but I couldn't keep the pretzels from getting too soggy.

I don't think we have it in restaurants here!  I have never seen it served other than at picnics and parties!
