  1. Well that didn't go as I originally thought it might. My idea at first was that Jenkins/Pilcher was leading a secret experiment and that we'd find that the so-called wilderness wasn't the wider world at all, but a vast enclave made to look post-apocalyptic; that the mountain fortress was comprised of a few different towns surrounding the fake wilderness, all joined to the fortress but separate from each other; that someone (maybe Jenkins/Pilcher) had cooked up the abbies in a lab somewhere. When it became evident that was wrong, then for a while I thought that Pam was going to find a way to oust Ethan, then lead a coup against her brother so that she could control the town. She sure seemed to salivate at the thought in the earlier episodes. I also thought maybe hypno-lady might be involved there somehow, and that there would be a conflict and showdown between the adults and the kids (not a couple of scenes here and there, but as the meat of the story in the later stages). Like others here, after Ep 5, I started hate-watching. I could have lived with the ending but not that beschissen epilogue. I should have known better than to give any time at a project Shyamalan was involved in - he's disappointed me too many times in the past. If there's a season 2 it'll definitely be on my NO WATCH list. The show on the whole: too much stupidity, not enough pay-off.
  2. (Not yet having seen the latest episode) Jeez, I think you were inside my head as I was rewatching eps 2 - 5. At first I was just going along for the ride, not trying to apply any logic. But rewatching the scene where Ethan is looking through Pope's desk drawer I noticed a couple of magazines in there, one of them being Guns and Ammo. Having already heard Mrs. Fisher's explanation of the "truth", I wondered why the last remnants of society would waste resources on something like a magazine. Where was it printed? Where was the paper mill? Etc., etc. Not to mention, where did everything in WP come from if they are the last homo sapiens? Even if they had stockpiled, surely things would have worn out and needed to be replaced. And anyway, was there even a WP Academy before this? Where did the school badges come from? Were they stockpiled too? Ben's uniform looked to be in pretty good nick. I got to wondering whether the complex that WP is in (judging from the other bay doors, there must be more towns or something) isn't a puddle in the middle of the new wilderness, but rather, if the wilderness is the puddle. That is, could the complex be circular with the "wilderness" in the middle, crafted to look like the ancient remains of our modern civilization? Sure, that ruined church seemed to line up with the map that Ethan had, but where did that map come from? Maybe it was printed to show landmarks from the fake wilderness. Also, did we ever hear why Beverly said to Ethan in the first ep, "I always believe you."? (Assuming I heard that correctly...) Also, I think the good doc cooked up those abbies in his lab at some point.
  3. True enough, but they aren't present when victims are brought into ER all bloody and torn. SV would see the immediate results of driving impaired in all their graphic detail.
  4. As far as I'm concerned, none of the women can be blamed for not trying hard enough. As soon as the asses in production chose those three guys and didn't do their due diligence in checking them out thoroughly, the whole sad exercise became moot and instead became a charade. There was nothing to try for. So a hearty F**K YOU to the producers, Cilona, blondie and Epstein. (I give Dr. Pepper a pass because she seemed genuine.)
  5. I totally agree. I didn't watch last night; just reading the comments here was enough to make my head explode. But I do want to make this comment about Sean's DUI. He's an ER nurse. Presumably he's seen more than his fair share of people coming into ER who were victims of impaired drivers. Then he goes out and drives impaired himself? What an as*wipe!!
  6. Psychotherapists take something similar. http://www.americanpsychotherapy.com/about/oath/ And Dr. C does psychotherapy: http://www.networktherapy.com/JosephCilona/
  7. (bold text added) What a shame Dr. C didn’t review this article discussing Monet & Vaughn’s situation before he paired Jaclyn with Basement Ryan. http://www.ibtimes.com/married-first-sight-expert-dr-joseph-cilona-vaughn-monets-divorce-does-he-blame-himself-1689919 That may be describing Monet but it sounds a lot like the same concerns Jaclyn voiced in her THs. Yet having failed in the first season he then subjected Jaclyn to the same set of circumstances. Maybe he can get a refund on his degree.
  8. I stopped watching the show a while back as I couldn't stand to watch S & D, nor R-douche & J. But I've kept reading here as the interest for me switched from action on the show to viewers' reactions and readings of the characters. I tend to believe what the supposed crew/production member wrote and the only thing that really surprised (and dismayed) me was RR's behavior. I had thought he was for real. Still, he's a salesman of a sort so he had me fooled. If the info is correct, I will certainly not watch the new season, nor will I ever watch anything these producers spit out again. Or anything that the disgraceful "experts" do. I think that if I do, all I'd be doing is indirectly supporting their actions this season, which I certainly do not. To watch any more from them would be tantamount to giving them permission to treat another group of women like crap, manipulating their feelings, their lives and even their safety. F*ck them. I stand with the women. Also, I take back every mean thing I said about Davina & Jessica. It became painfully obvious they were edits of malicious editing, the way Jaclyn was at the beginning. Now I can't even fault D for her SM behavior. If I had been in her place, if all of these allegations are true, I'd have been acting and saying a whole hell of a lot worse: Hell hath no fury like a riled-up Scorpio! Even if these allegations are untrue, I'm done with the show, have been for a while. Nothing could entice me to watch S3. (But I'll keep reading here as y'all are a hoot, and many give me a lot to think about as they have very different views on the people and situations than I do.)
  9. Agreed. Even in the New Year's Eve episode she acted like she was a femme fatale or something, going on about it being more appropriate to wear her "halo" crooked, that she's a bad girl (or whatever the quote was).
  10. I do too. I also notice those smirks when she gets him riled. (I'm not a fan of his either, though; he's a jerk IMO.) Oooh, what a good thought! I bet you're onto something there.
  11. I think Jess works in Brooklyn, doesn't she? That's where their new apartment is. Ryan, on the other hand, has to commute to work. Since she's first one home, it's not unreasonable to me that she be the one to do the cooking; maybe Ryan can do the washing up. I thought this too the first time I saw it but when I watched a second time he did look angry as he was walking out of the shot after getting her the table to iron on. That's what really gets me about her. In her talking head segments she's always saying she hates disagreements and she'll do anything to avoid them but it seems that all she does is cause them.
  12. Thank you for that, sjohnson! That explains why Cornell asked Ben if he'd raped Jess in Ep. 10. That was another thing that came out of left field for me.
  13. Agreed about Christy. But as Ben ... or was it Dave? ... said, she's all about appearances. It just wouldn't do to have her daughter known as a psychopath. Natalie sure as hell deserved better. I'm no lawyer and am not American so I'm not up on American law but I did find these two articles about juveniles committing murder. http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2005/02/juve-f19.html which is from 2005 about a 12-year old in SOUTH Carolina who received 30 years in prison for murder. And http://www.wral.com/juvenile-murder-arrests-frightening-wake-da-says/12022427/ from 2013 about several murders committed by juveniles in North Carolina. I suspect that the case of the 12-year old in South Carolina could be used as a precedent if Abby had been tried right away. As for treatment, is there any effective treatment for psychopaths? I didn't think there was. Also, I so agree about putting the ending online. Balls to that! Watching from Canada, I didn't even know there was more to the ending than what was shown. It was only from comments here that I found out. And I have no hope of seeing the actual clip as it can't be shown here. Very bad form, IMO. What was the deal with Jess's mother? Cornell made some comment to her in the interview room about being crazy like her mother, or something like that. Was that following from another online gem? I don't remember any mention being made before of Jess's mother so that seemed to come out of left field for me. I only remember Natalie's comment about her mom maybe not wanting to be like "Nanna" ... which never got explained, at least not on the broadcast show. Didn't we find out that that was one of the nights that Jess had taken her meds? If she mixed them with alcohol, maybe she'd sleep deeper than she normally would. Me too, absolutely! I liked her in this role.
  14. Many of us got there; lots of good sleuths here. :-)
  15. "You can't expect someone to fill the holes in someone else." Now we know why the "experts" suck so much -- they attended the Jerry Maguire School of Matchmaking: "You complete me." :)
