  1. I really enjoyed this season! I will say each Power universe has the same damn themes in it so I'm hoping that doesn't get too played out. I will say this show is so random with it's plot holes and things that just go unexplained? Why doesn't anyone ask what happened to Juke's face? I was surprised Kanan didn't ask. It was just really random because she is walking around with bruises on her face and no one asked what was happening? So does Mama Raq not realize her son Lou Lou was nearly burnt to a crisp? She's sitting there chillin' gossipin' with church folks and her son is fighting for his life in a hospital bed? That was really strange to me. Maybe no one told her...but still WTF? I am not a personal fan of 50 Cent at all but I did really like his portrayal of Kanan and I really love that this series helps us see how he became the adult version of Kanan. We are watching his innocence get stripped with each episode and he really never stood a chance.
  2. I really enjoyed this first episode! I had to giggle as the character introductions kept rolling well into the middle of the show. I need a chart to keep up with everyone! Great casting on young Kanan, I really want to know what "turns" him. The actress that plays Raq is gorgeous!!
  3. So a few weekends ago I got bored and did a free Kindle download of Brittany's book and after reading it I cannot express to you how much I DON'T get a damn about Brittany's mom. Marcelino seemed cold and uncaring talking about Cindy but she is absolute trash and doesn't deserve anyone spending 5 minutes looking for her let alone 5 hours. She can kick rocks. Brittany needs to realize she will never get the relationship she wants from her mom. Rehabbing her will never get back the 30 years of neglect and trauma Brittany experienced at her hands. She needs to cut the cord and focus on her own children and her own healing. I have no sympathy for Sarah either. Michael is trash and has really been nothing but trash since they met from what I understand. They NEVER had a healthy relationship. Sarah is mad that she invested time, energy and money into a man hoping it would make him want her and it didn't. He has shown her in every way possible he could give less than a fuck about those babies and she is still using those girls to get to him. To Rayne he is a total stranger and to Aviahna he's a random guy named Daddy who shows up to play with her for an hour and then disappear for 6 months. He couldn't even be bothered to show up for the court date. Those children are props to him She needs to finally divorce him, obtain full custody and figure out what her identity will be in life other than being the bitter single mom. She's young and clearly has the support of her grandparents and friends she can go on to have a really great life but she has got to let Devil Dick go!
  4. A friend of mine moved to LA to become a model and she said that having a strong social media presence is apparently a big deal nowadays when it comes to finding talent. Back in the day scouts were finding unknowns at the mall but now scouts are pouring through instagram to find "influencers" and potential models there. She talked alot about how various modeling agencies and scouts would hit her and her model friends up on IG. Micah has a very interesting "All American" look and I'm curious how they will market him. Is Abercrombie and Fitch modeling still a thing, LOL? He would have made a killing 10-15 years ago when that look was big!
  5. I was so freaked out that Micah, Moriah, Max and the other random girl saw gators swimming in that river and still kept swimming in it.
  6. Ethan's masturbation story was disturbing and seriously one he should have told Olivia in private. Yikes! I wish that Olivia and Ethan could have chosen their Joshua Tree resort together so there were things both of them could enjoy. I get that Olivia wants to try new things and experience what's out there but she continuously crosses boundaries with Ethan and he is trying his hardest to establish healthy boundaries after years of never having them. If he isn't into tattoos, weed, massages, "new age stuff" and whatever else than that's fine! Aside from that random girl that Olivia was video chatting, does she have any girlfriends that she hangs with regularly? Some of the shit she wants to try and learn about could be done with close friends rather than constantly pushing Ethan's comfort zone. Poor Lydia. My heart just breaks for her. 16 years old and resorting to praying and fasting over a boy she actually hasn't talked to in awhile and has no connection to? Oh sweetie. What Kim should have said is she is young and there will be plenty of opportunities to meet MANY young men who will be interested in her. And she gets to chose who she wants to get to know and who is best for her! I worry about her. She hasn't had much chance to define who she is at all. I wish Micah would cool it a bit with the flexing and body obsession. He is very attractive but shoving photos of yourself in a speedo in the face of your incredibly repressed sister is a bit much! I also got second hand embarrassment watching Lydia try on Moriah's ugly ass clothes, she was so uncomfortable.
  7. Please add me to Moriah's glam squad. She is a pretty young woman who has the worst possible taste in fashion. Alright, I'll say it. Something about Kim's description of Joshua's death doesn't sit right with me. I get being detached from an extremely traumatic event but she seems to have not processed his death at all. I would also bet that the family dynamic probably changed dramatically after his death and Kim turned into a major control freak at that point! I was lowkey disappointed that Ethan got that tattoo! A couple that has mentioned several times they are "fighting" for their marriage should not be getting matching tattoos! Especially when one of them really doesn't want one. When Olivia eventually leaves Ethan it will be devastating for him. He wants to please her so much and I wonder what will be the thing that eventually takes him beyond his comfort zone with her? Moriah and Max were incredibly cringeworthy. How old is Max he seems alot older than Mariah who is only 17 at the time this as filmed I believed. Also, does Moriah have any girlfriends? It just seems concerning to me that she meets Max at a party then immediately clings to him. The way she talks about him on social media is so intense. It's beyond puppy love!
  8. I hate that I am so into this show hahaha. How did Olivia get so "wordly"? She grew up in the same type of weird fundie situation like Ethan right? She seems alot more comfortable being in the real world and seems to have more experience with normal life, especially in comparison to Ethan who seems like he showed up from another planet! Olivia also talks like a person who has undergone therapy at some point in her life, very reflective and expressive. I know she comes across kind of haughty to some folks but I think we are just seeing a young woman who is discovering her voice for the first time. She's finding herself and probably having the realization that she signed up for a life before ever getting a chance to see what else is out there for her. She wants to experience new things and have the same experiences as an other 22 year old but she feels restricted, I suppose. Ethan is a sweet young man but he seems very content with a life in Cairo, tinkering around with old cars, playing music and hanging out with his siblings. That life will likely never make Olivia happy. She is always going to want more than what he can give her. He needs another small town girl on his same level. I know Kim did not fix her mouth to say that she was dancing en pointe after a few college classes? Girl please. She should have never said that shit on national television. And furthermore, does she think it messed up that she got to experience things like college, and dance classes and friends and her kids are confined to their house and whatever the parents feel like exposing them to? *eyeroll* Moriah always seems so scared of her parents, her mom especially. She is a fragile girl who probably should be in intense therapy because as evidenced by her relationship with Max she is going to cling to whoever shows her an ounce of attention. I see in the next episode they talk about the child that was killed. I'd be curious to see what the family was like before that tragic accident.
  9. I love how I missed 2 seasons of this show and managed to watch this episode only to see that the entire show's premise is still about Jazz and her genitals, lol. I had second hand embarrassment hearing Jeanette talk about having to lube up the dilatator for Jazz. How absolutely humiliating, for both mother and child. To invest time and money into a surgery and Jazz can't be bothered to comply with the basics to prevent her vagina from sealing up! Jazz has created her entire personality and life around being trans that of course the idea of going to college must be terrifying. Who is Jazz when she's not talking about her surgeries or vaginas or inserting herself into the lives of her trans friends (next week's episode looks cringey)? Her mother enables all of this because it seems to give her life meaning to have a child who needs special support and accommodation. Contrast Jazz and her privilege next to Noelle a young lady who literally survived a school shooting! Despite financial set backs, trauma etc she still has aspirations outside of being a trans person. She dreams of leaving South Florida and going to school and living her life. And if she is unable to have SRS (I really hope she does get it) then she will work to find ways to find contentment elsewhere. I missed the last season with Ahmir but they both looked incredibly awkward together and it seems silly to invite your ex to see you splayed out hours after a painful, delicate surgery. Also awkward to have your brother and father in the room while doctors examine your lack of labia and position of your new clitoris. Yikes. And I'm obviously not a surgeon or doctor but clearly they weren't joking when they mentioned how challenging surgery would be on Jazz due to lack of tissues and whatnot. It's hard for me to imagine what could possibly be so off for her requiring all these surgeries to adjust things.
  10. I think she is actually 23 now, but was about 20 when they met. Ick. And a young kid being sex trafficked at that age is appalling but not far from the realm of possibilities especially in poor areas like where she grew up. It would not shock me if Juliana has true feelings for Michael but not romantic. I think she seems him as a source of stability and comfort. He funds her life and is giving her a ticket out of her hometown. Michael thinks he has a hot piece of ass and Juliana thinks she has a new dad. *shrug* I believe Sasha's ex wife. Was a little confused by her hand lingering on his arm and her wistfully telling him not to leave Russia. Does she still have feelings for him, LOL? Yawn @ Robert and Anny. Robert reminds me so many dudes I've known in life. Priorities in the wrong place. Your child doesn't have his own bed but you are pressed over a woman you have only been around for less than a day. Run Anny. Take Bryson with you! Anna is the worst. All things considered her sons handled Mursel well. I can't imagine what it feels like having your mom show up with a man who openly doesnt like you and who speaks no English. Anna is shitty for letting her mom disrespect Mursel like that to his face. Her mom was shitty for having the kid type it into the translator app. Is Mursel mentally challenged? Why is he ok having premarital sex with Anna but not okay with her drinking a beer? Has Tania ever dated a man before? Like a real one? The flower petals and the weird misspelled sign in the middle of Times Square was just WEIRD. That plus the need to have your two friends as crutches makes me think Taina is not used to dating or feels terribly uncomfortable with this man. Sinjin seems like the type who is just along for the ride and when he gets to see Tania for real he is gonna run!
  11. I knew we'd have to say goodbye to sweet Vangie but it just sucks Silky is in the top 4 and not Vangie. Vangie gets critiqued for being "disconnected" which honestly could have been said for Akeria as well. Brooke gets critiqued for being too perfect and lacking passion and Silky looks messy as hell but she was passionate so that gives her a pass. GIRL WHET?! I guess the benefit is that Silky has had time to see herself on tv and realized she acted the fool and shes been rather self aware on social media in recent weeks. And I am glad that she admitted she created this over the top personality to make up for the fact she was insecure about her size and looks.
  12. What a cringeworthy episode. Yikes. I am really happy that Nina got a much deserved win. She's funny, vibrant and seems so eager to take constructive criticism to show the judges she is serious. I'm bummed that Shuga had to sashay away. I don't think it was fair that she was in the bottom on the winning team. Yes, she wasn't as much a standout as Nina or Brooklyn but she did great and kept up with her teammates. That speaks better than Da Black Magic's team just plain being in the bottom. So can we talk about Silky? I'm glad she got called out for being sloppy because that is the perfect description. She bothers me because I don't think she has any interest in being the winner of the show, she just wants to be on tv PERIOD. Right now, nothing we see of her on the show seems authentic and its grating. For what its worth, people have been absolutely disgusting to her on social media which is uncalled for. Wishing death on a queen because she annoys you on a tv show? Awful. It does seem like she is aware of she is coming across on tv and has made some heartfelt admissions on twitter and IG.
  13. Does anyone else feel like this season is creeping along very slowly? I was thinking maybe Snatch Game was coming up but then I looked and saw there were still what seemed like 20 girls in the competition! I also feel like the frontrunners and possible Top 3 may be: Brooke, Plastique and Yvie. Or maybe swapping out Plastique for A'Keria! Farewell to Ariel. She's an example of how the one trick pony version of drag does not translate well to TV and this competition. She only knew exactly ONE look and she brought that same tired look to the stage every week. She deserved to be eliminated simply based on the fact she didn't follow directions. Bringing a (busted) mermaid look to the stage during the spooky monster category. Okay girl... Did anyone notice how normal Vanjie's voice was in the workroom while she was working on her garment? None of that loud squawking and over exaggeration. She was speaking at a normal tone and seemed pretty focused. I think the one main annoying thing about this season is how bloody AWARE some of these folks are is that they are on tv and how much they are hamming it up for screentime. Silky is probably the worst offender of this. She actually is funny and entertaining but she's taking that to the max and its really just not cute to watch on television.
  14. Caitlin has had two children I believe. One that was stillborn (I think that's where the feet tattoo comes from) and another child who is hopefully living a happy, blessed life with his father. She has also been married twice! I'd love to know more about her story because she seems emotionally self-aware and articulate. She seems so desperate for love and affection. You'd have to be in order to think Matt is a suitable partner!
  15. Wow. This episode delivered on its two hours. I loved it. Brittany and Marcelino: Good luck, I guess? *shrugs* Britt is a hard ass looking 27 year old who I don't think will ever be the type to truly settle down and Marcelino is corny and still gives me a controlling vibe but they seem to genuinely love one another and are a good match. Even if the individuals are shitty people they can still find the yin to their yang. Superficial note: I'm not sure I was too keen on the baby girl's name.. Zoila? Ok then. Tracie and Clint: Again, congrats. Two crackheads have found love and seem happy. I can't be mad at it. Tracie's crackhead weight loss was alarming. No one loses weight like that because they don't like the prison food...girl. I feel awful for Clint's poor parents because they will spend their twilight years continuing to be surrounded by this shitshow and bailing out their man-child son. Lizzie and Scott: Lizzie is a psychopath. I've always found her comical and considered her dumb but harmless but the way she treated Scott on last night's episode was COLD. I'm glad that she's alone and working and hopefully maintaining minimal contact with the rest of human society. I actually felt a lot of sympathy for Scott last night. He's gullible and weak and seems so damn DESPERATE for love! His new love interest Jasmine had brief screen time but mentioned him buying stuff for her a few times it tells me he may be back in the same situation. I hope he gets some help and finds someone who truly loves him. Matt and Caitlin: This shit ended the way I expected it would. Not much to say other than I feel bad for Matt's mom. She seemed so unfazed and just beatdown. I hope she has a support system in her life. And I hope Caitlin finds whatever she is looking for. Sarah/Mike/Megan: I think its easy to assign "blame" and try to figure out who the victim is in this situation. It sucks that neither of these people are likable enough to make me want to side with any of them. Sarah's mistake was creating her young life around an ain't shit man that she likely knew wasn't shit but still married him and got pregnant a second time. She learned the hard way that a marriage certificate and a baby doesn't make you any less likely to be humiliated and cheated on. Regardless of whether Megan knew about Sarah or not, Sarah's anger was misdirected. A happy, healthy relationship cannot be "wrecked" by a homewrecker. Again, its easy to assign the blame to the 3rd party but she owed Megan NOTHING. At this point she knows her husband is a cheater and has another person he calls his queen and she still chooses to fight over him. CHOICES. Sarah seems like the type who will continue to use her children and her history with him as a gateway to Mike for as long as she can. She has no clue how to evolve or do anything different. Megan went "live" on Instagram and said she still talks to Mike and they are soulmates. I see her as sitting by in the wings using her emotional connection with Mike to have some sort of leverage over Sarah. Sarah uses her kids to "win" Mike. Megan is using her soulmate connection. She will never back down and neither will Sarah so they might as well be acquainted with one another because they are all in a relationship together! Mike is low down but if anyone "wins" in this scenario, its him. He and Lizzie should be friends!
