  1. I don't know if this counts, but I was completely devasted when I discovered Wonder Woman 3 was canceled. Granted, I was having an unbearable week, but I still cried when I saw the announcement that the movie wasn't moving forward. I would say the ending of Major Crimes a spin-off of The Closer outright pissed me off. It was an ending that outright went against the messaging and theming of the show and the spirit of the main character. As an example, imagine if Ron decides to make the final storyline for Days a Salem Stalker redux with Marlena killing the entire cast and Jennifer saying this is exactly what Alice and Tom would have wanted while Bo drank on Shawn's grave declaring himself a Kiriakis. I was outraged for weeks after the ending. Charmed and XENA also made me really emotional. Although both were rocky quality-wise by the end, I was still sad to say goodbye. I still watch both whenever I need comfort or a metaphorical hug.
  2. I actually think this could be a good quad. The show actually teased Rex/Chloe when KL was originally introduced onto the canvas as Rex. This was before the show let him go, and they moved Chloe into Stefan's orbit. Around this time, Sarah also had a lot of animosity toward Chloe. I still remember her attacking Chloe for how Chloe treated her brother, Dan. And Sarah was quick to side with Eric in the custody hearing against Chloe for Holly when Nicole was still believed to be dead. I imagined Sarah had a lot of hidden animosity toward Chloe for Chloe's role in revealing Rex and Mimi were the parents of Emily at Sarah and Rex's engagement party. Rex and Sarah also know Philip is alive which Chloe is still ignorant to.
  3. Shawn has worked for the Salem PD for while again. He's mostly shown sitting at the desk as Jada and Rafe perform detective work, but he was on the scene at Paulina's office when it was trashed. However, working at the ISA shouldn't matter. We saw Ciara walk into the room with Harris and Hope and have an extended stay and conversation. There's no reason why Hope wouldn't talk to Shawn, especially since I'm not certain if he knows where she is. He had some dialogue about not speaking to her in months, and Hope didn't even know Marlena, Kayla, and Kate died, so it implies she hasn't talked to him in months.
  4. Harris/Andrew was boring. Steve seems like he doesn't like Stephanie. I liked that Brady didn't think he was looking at Marlena. In Salem, she could have been Hattie, a clone, resurrected by the Devil to commit crimes, Kristen in a mask, or Sam back from the dead who believes it's still the 80s and Brady is Roman. How sad yet awesome that all of these storylines have happened/been referenced on Days recently. I'm not certain what they're doing with this Hope/Bo reunion, but I'm ready for forward movement in their interactions. Why has Hope still not seen Shawn on screen?
  5. I know this is morbid, but I hope the show uses this as a learning opportunity to have some evergreen "last episode" scenes for actors passed a certain age. For example, I would hope Doug could have some scenes filmed that could effectively be his "goodbye" with Julie, Hope, Bo, Ciara, and Shawn. Add Jack and Jenn if they could have Melissa Reeves return. It doesn't have to be anything grand, but just something that could easily be inserted at the end of any episode as a goodbye to the character. I can understand why people would have qualms with such a request, but instead, the alternative is having Victor's last scenes of his decades-long history be unmemorable. Weren't they with Leo? And this shouldn't be the case.
  6. NB's/Chloe's husband just posted an Instagram story saying NB has returned home to Charleston. He tags Days and Peacock in the story, so it seems to imply NB/Chloe is still filming at Days.
  7. I'm ready for Bo and Hope to reunite. I don't care about anything else regarding the two until they are together again. Mainly because everything else is so boring. This episode had a lot of revelations, yet it still felt like filler. It was quite the choice to have Stephanie discover her mother is alive over the telephone. I think the actress is horrid, but I think that sets her up to fail. She literally has no one to play the emotional beats with which means she has to make even more awkward and distorted faces to try to sell the moment. I started off really liking Meagan, and now she's almost as pathetic as Kristen. I don't get what the show is doing with Bo. I know he's under some type of mind control, brainwashing, or microchip; I'm actually not certain they explained what is going on with Bo. However, why is the show acting like Bo isn't a multi-millionaire? Bo's wife, Hope, is an heiress via her mother and his children have multi-million dollar trust funds via Victor. He is also the uncle of several multi-millionaires: Sami, Theresa, and Andrew, is Rex super rich? I'm not certain about Carrie, but I would imagine she's well off. He's also best friends with John and Marlena, multi-millionaires. I'm not even certain what this story is about. The current stories regarding Victor feel like they're several months premature. If Victor were deceased, I could buy Maggie suddenly having to become CEO, and I could even buy Bo wanting to connect with the birth father he had a mostly contentious relationship. Bo and Kayla would even slip between discussing Victor in the past and present tenses. As is, I'm just not buying this black sheep, I was never a Brady, I'm truly a Kiriakis storyline at the moment. That has not been my experience of Bo Brady since I started watching in the mid-90s. Hell, even the recast Bo never questioned his place in the Brady family, and that Bo seemed evil to me at times. (More the performer than the writing for the character). Lastly, Stephanie said she could see Kate sacrificing herself to save Marlena and Kayla. I literally laughed out loud. Marlena is someone who would sacrifice herself for others. Kate is someone who would push Marlena in front of the bullet to save Kate and only Kate. Stephanie has entirely too much history with Kate to say something so foolish.
  8. This episode was not good. It seemed like there were entirely too many people featured. I used to like Wendy but the Blond Bland Person/ Wendy /Even More Blond Bland Person triangle has erased any affection I used to have for the character. I'll let you decide which Blond Bland Person is which. Rachel is just a monster. In 5 years, when she's 32, she is going to terrorize Salem. I actually liked Xander's scenes with Chloe and Maggie today. I'm shocked and a little disgusted with myself.
  9. I'm certain Ron has already written several fanfics about this very scenario.
  10. Personality-wise and from what we've been shown of her character, I could only imagine Jada with Shawn of the men you mentioned. Of course, the show will do whatever it pleases, but Rafe, Eric, Shawn, and Rex when he's on canvas are the only men I can think of for Jada currently. Shawn is married. Eric and Jada already tried and don't seem to have any lingering feelings. Rex is on sporadically. Maybe Brady and Jada. However, I wouldn't mind seeing a chem test for Rex and Jada if the show were to bring him on as a contract character. Those two seem like they could click and it brings in characters like Maggie, Sarah, Kate, and maybe some Eric/Rex tension. I doubt it'll happen, but it's what I would try if I could.
  11. Kassie's Eve had a lot of connections to Victor. She spent a lot of time in the Kiriakis household because of her relationships with Brady, Tate, Deimos, and Justin. Victor treated her horrifically, but he treated most of the women in the cast horrifically. I think the only exceptions are Maggie, Hope, and Ciara. I'm not including deceased characters like Caroline. If available and affordable, I'm certain the show would still want characters like Vivian, Nicole, Carly, Chloe, Theresa, Kimberly, Marlena, etc. to still attend. Kate may actually be another woman he didn't treat horrifically toward the end of his run. However, there was their marriage when she tried to kill him, so they aren't completely free of abusive tendencies between the two.
  12. Since Ben is Alex now, I assume Ron would go for an Eve/Alex pairing with lots of nudge, nudge, wink, wink references. I could see the two watching "My Daughter's Killer" on Peacock together. If Eve does return, I wonder if the show would try her with Brady again. I actually think her Eve and EJ could be interesting.
  13. I was also confused by the time of day the vandalism occurred. Rafe and Jada kept asking Sloan about her alibi for last night, yet Talia discussed the argument Sloan had with Paulina earlier in the morning. I would love an episode where Sloan/Melinda/Belle are at a bar and are commenting on the idiocy of their fellow Salemites. I hope the use of Melinda in this episode and the foreshadowing(?) of a potential role for her in Dimera Enterprises means the show is giving Melinda another opportunity as an actual character. I know her sister/daughter storyline failed horrifically, but I think the actress is good, and she could be a good antagonist. I wouldn't mind a chem test with her and Harris once he returns to Salem. Oddly, I actually could see Melinda and Shawn working in a Bo/Hope-type way with the more salt-of-the-earth male character and the more pampered and demanding female character. But then, I think I also just described Shawn and Belle so never mind. I really don't like the idea of Jada/Rafe. It's sad that there are so few viable romantic interests for her. At this point, I just want the Sloan/Paulina/Chanel storyline to end. This has not been the riveting television Ron believes it to be.
  14. It's supposed to be NB/Chloe. I'm devastated as Chloe and Sloan have been my favorite characters, by far, these past few months. Chloe has been a favorite for decades. I wish the show would get rid of characters I don't like and who serve no purpose. Stephanie, Chad, Rafe, Tripp, and Johnny are where I would start. Personally, I would also get rid of Kayla and Steve. I'm also not a big fan of this EJ and I think the show struggles with Nicole, although I do like her.
  15. I still think Talia trashed Paulina's office. Something about her comes off as untrustworthy, and I don't really buy her story as to why she left medicine. She was also there when Sloan made her threat against Paulina and Chanel. I guess we'll see. I was happy Chanel repeated her story. For some reason, it felt more clear today. I wish PW was still Chanel because I think she would have played it as if this story was more of a mystery. We'll have to ask if we could trust her Chanel, and I could see her Chanel and Sloan having a Sami vs Nicole or Sami vs Kate type rivalry. Current Chanel is too much of an ingenue/traditional heroine. This rivalry just feels there until they can find something else for Sloan/Chanel/Paulina to do. It feels like busywork and not an actual storyline with stakes and ebbs and flows. I find the Nicole/EJ/Li/Stefan/Gabi storyline insultingly stupid. Like, I'm someone who gives Soap Opera stories a lot of grace, but this storyline is just inane. I feel GabI/Stefan would need to be 16 years old for this storyline to work and dependant on legal adults to get them hotel rooms, alcohol, and an excused absence to submit to their teachers for missing class. However, Gabi/Stefan are in their 30s/40s. They don't need Nicole and EJ to facilitate an affair for them. 1. How is an affair at the Salem Inn a secret? 85% of Salem lives in the Inn and the other 15% hang out in the town square outside the Inn. 2. Why does Stefan trust EJ? Their current storyline is the two trying to drug each other, and they both know they have been drugging each other. Stefan wouldn't even drink the beverage EJ handed him because of their current storyline. Stefan also knows EJ is aware of the clause regarding the Dimera shares if Gabi has an affair. This storyline only kinda works if Stefan isn't aware of the clause or he isn't aware EJ knows of the clause. He knows both. Stefan and Nicole don't have much of a history as to why he should trust Nicole, and he knows EJ can't stand Gabi. Also, I'm not even an evil mastermind, but I know not to accept a burner phone from someone who doesn't like me and wants to destroy me, hence them drugging me. 3. I feel the same way about Gabi. She knows EJ can't stand her. She and Nicole don't have much of a loving history between the two characters. As a matter of fact, their latest history together was antagonistic because of how Nicole left Rafe for Eric. Why is Gabi acting like a high schooler because Nicole got her a basic ass room at the Salem Inn? Ooooo rose petals? Isn't this the one-time CEO of a major conglomerate? I don't think she'll be so easily impressed. Also, are there cameras in the room? How are they going to prove a sexual affair took place unless they plan on having Li walk in on them? This storyline is insulting because of how dumb it is, and it uses Nicole in a way I genuinely dislike. I liked Sloan/Eric.
  16. If you're allergic to Ben/Cin you may want to avoid the first half of this episode. It'll cause anaphylactic shock. Rolf apparently has a crush on Kayla. For some reason, the John/Marlena moment and the Bo/Kayla moment felt underplayed and lackluster to me. I love Bo as a character but there's something about PR's performance that is quite inconsistent. I'm not certain why VK played Ciara as annoyed when Ben was discussing Marlena/Kayla/Kate. At one point, she rolled her eyes when he mentioned her Aunt Kayla. She also talked about the women as if they were casual acquaintances she'd only met twice through Ben. Some very unfortunate acting choices from her. Ben got more time to grieve Marlena than Eric and Brady. Maybe that's why John/Marlena was so underwhelming. The show is holding Marlena's gasps, coos, and awws for when she runs into Ben's arms. The Pier Part II
  17. That's a good guess; I forgot about Sloan having a brother. For some reason my first thought was Talia. I hate when the show over-prioritizes biology over character history. Bo has a darkness in him and is the black sheep of the family because he's a Kiriakis? Samantha Gene Brady, sure. Even Theresa Donovan. I could get behind. Bo Brady? Maybe Bo of the 80s since I didn't watch that Bo, but Bo of the 90s and beyond has mostly been a romantic hero and a good cop. Of course, there are some exceptions, but I saw Bo as pretty moral person and not "dark" at all. Hope has done more questionable things in her history than Bo has, granted she was Princess Gina or Nighttime Hope for most of them. I was also annoyed by Chad talking about his sister, Megan. A Google search says Chad wasn't even featured in Beyond Salem 2, so he hasn't even met her. I know the show wants to acknowledge relationships, but there has to be a way to do this without implying relationships that literally don't exist. Speaking of, wouldn't Chad be the black sheep of the Dimera family since he's the most moral one of the living bunch? Maybe Tony is an exception but I can never keep his history and Andre's history accurate. Megan went from a fun villain to a pathetic one. So SB is basically playing Jason Morgan from General Hospital down to a brain injury. Did we need another episode dedicated to people telling Chad it's okay for him to date Stephanie? At this point when Kayla and Kate come back from the dead the first thing they'll do is find Chad and give their blessings for him dating Stephanie. Then Marlena would tell us about some offscreen conversation she had with Abby in heaven where she give Chad/Stephanie her blessing. Then Megan will tell us she has Abby's body, so will use the serum so Abby can be the Maid of Honor at Chad and Stephanie's wedding. Should Mia return and Grace come back from the dead to give their blessings, too? I despise Stephanie. She didn't even do anything offensive in this episode, and I just wanted her off my screen.
  18. Chloe usually despises Xander, and they have enough of a history that her usual hatred of him is earned. Xander (and Theresa) left Chloe in Mexico when she was kidnapped by El Fideo to presumably be raped for months/years and eventually murdered. Neither informed anyone of Chloe's whereabouts and allowed Chloe to think Theresa was killed. Xander has taunted Chloe a couple of times about her "murdering" El Fideo, instead of her killing the psycho in self-defense of her life, John's life, and Paul's life. Xander also kidnapped Holly when Chloe was the legal guardian and faked Holly's death during the Cartel attempts to kill Chloe for revenge storyline. During one Christmas that Chloe spent with the Kiriakis family, she made it perfectly clear that she couldn't stand him. She also was not a fan of Xarah and warned Sarah against marrying him. Even at the start of their scene, Chloe had a dismissive and disgusted tone with Xander. I don't think it would be in character for Chloe to be with Xander considering her personal history with him and his history with Nicole and Brady. Chloe and Stefan were enough of a stretch, and Chloe never even seemed entirely into him either.
  19. I don't blame Chloe for calling Rachel a little monster. In context, it made perfect sense, and it was more an insult to Kristen than Rachel. However, Brady doesn't have that context, so I'm curious how he'll respond. This was such a small, throwaway moment, but I loved that Chloe ended her conversation with Nicole with, "I love you." Abe/Chad and Paulina/Stephanie were weird scenes. I just don't think the Stephanie/Paulina dynamic works, and how many people are going to tell Chad it's okay for him to move on with his wife's cousin? SH said we'll get a long break from Kristen with her last Kristen departure. I was hoping the break would be longer. I didn't realize Maggie was still Brady's sponsor. I enjoyed their scene and was pleasantly surprised. It feels like it's been a long time - years? - since we got a Maggie/Brady scene. I thought Maggie felt like Maggie Horton in that scene and less like Maggie Kiriakis. I miss when Maggie had strong relationships with Brady and Chloe (and Lucas). I liked this episode more than yesterday's episode.
  20. I wish the show would do a little flashback. I find it hard to remember things I'm not shown, but I'm guessing the show also wants some wriggle room in case they choose to change their minds about some details later on. I thought this episode was very middle of the road. I'm obviously spitballing here, but I don't find it that weird. I think the show is quite committed to showing the male Brady clan as everymen, with some exceptions of course. Rex is an exception. However, he was also an alien at one point, so I'm not certain what rules apply to him. With Andrew's parents, the show may not feel obligated to present him as an everyman, but I didn't watch Beyond Salem II. There wasn't enough in his episode with Paul for me to get a sense of what type of character archetype he's supposed to have. As far as Eric's close relationships go, Marlena and Nicole are the only two I could see suggesting a gallery to him. Sami is selfish. EM's Brady doesn't present as cultured or cosmopolitan as KL's Brady did. I can't imagine JT's or WN's Roman suggesting an art gallery. I'm not quite certain what Eric's relationships with John and Belle are. I feel he should be closer to both than we actually see on the show. With John, I think it depends on what version of John as some eras of John have been more cultured than others. I could see ambitious Belle suggesting it to Eric, but I don't know if she's close enough to him to care about his career. Marlena and Nicole are the only two who love Eric enough and seem worldly and ambitious enough to suggest an art gallery. Oddly, I do think Eric's more recent romantic entanglements feel more likely to care about him, and be cultured and ambitious: Jennifer, Sarah, Jada, and Sloan of course feel like realistic options to encourage Eric's professional and artistic ambitions.
  21. Starting at the 18:30 mark, LS says she's back at Days. She's only been back for one day at the time she had this interview. Much later in the interview, she said she saw Judith Evans/Adrienne/Bonnie, so she must still be filming, too. She doesn't give any details as to what she's doing. She also mentions not being a fan of the Carly "Buried Alive" storyline, and she mentions how she tried to play it in a way to save herself as she thought it would destroy the character. She credits Reilly for injecting enough humor in the storyline to not damage the character/Vivian. It's odd. She says she thought the storyline was presented in a humorous or funny manner. I thought the story was more macabre. I do think her example of Carly and Vivian talking on the phone in the morning does inject enough camp into the story that Vivian didn't come off as a complete monster. I also think it's funny that people seem to always forget that Vivian was hopped up on some mystery drugs during that storyline.
  22. Did Kate say Chelsea and Max got married? I really liked that moment between Marlena and John. It felt very true to them and the right mix of real-world and fairytale that I associate with them. I'm still a little confused as to what's going on with Bo. Steve Burton went from a hired hitman to a hired assassin. Daniel Day-Lewis better watch his back because Burton is obviously showing a tremendous amount of range in his once-in-a-lifetime acting skills. I still loved Hope.
  23. The irony is Bo "died" during the Necktie Killer storyline believing he saved Hope from Aidan, the believed serial killer at the time. I don't actually expect the show to reveal Ben as the Necktie Killer to Bo, but what a conversation that would be.
  24. I finished watching the con. I'm going to try to say something as carefully as possible because I don't mean it as a criticism, but I understand that it's going to be read as a criticism. I also want to say I'm not insulting anyone; although, I think it could be read as an insult. It really is just an observation, and I welcome conversation and feedback. There was somewhat of a disconnect between the audience and the cast in what the show meant for the audience versus the cast. I'm certain this isn't unique to Charmed. The audience is sharing stories regarding cherishing the show for memories they share with sick or deceased parents, one person discussed the show helping him when he was a young, gay kid growing up in the church, and another discussed the show allowing her to vicariously experience a strong relationship with her sisters because her actual relationship with her sisters was fraught, etc. The cast always had appropriate responses; however, it was also clear the show was just a job to them. There's nothing wrong with that, nor am I criticizing the cast. However, there was something jarring in the very emotional affect of the audience and calling the cast literal heroes and this emotional barrier with the cast having kind and empathetic yet still somewhat professional and distant responses. I'm certain it's like that for a lot of cons, especially ones like Charmed where I imagine there are a lot of women, queers, or people who felt somehow disregarded from social life. It was still just fascinating to experience. That leads to my next point. Some of the questions asked of the cast felt too personal or even just plain out of touch with today's social norms and expectations. One person asked Brian how it felt to work with so many "hot women." In a post-Me Too world with Rose literally seated next to him, the question felt tone-deaf and like a no-win situation. Luckily, Bryan somewhat ignored the question and responded with the great feminism the women brought to the show. However, it also seemed like a question that quickly could have had some unfortunate follow-up if Brian didn't handle himself so well. Another person asked if the women still had a "sisterly bond." Again, Holly handled the question well. I've never been to a con, but some of these moments just felt tone-deaf and entirely too personal and intimate. The cast even jokingly acknowledged the politics and potential consequences of answering such questions, mainly Holly. All that being said, I had no idea how much Holly liked the Excalibur episode/Sword in the City. She mentioned the episode several times in questions regarding her favorite moments on the show. Shannon/Prue and her departure came up several times, and that is still a sore spot with fans. Rose/Holly both said Season 5 was their favorite; however, Holly mentions there are politics in play for why she can't say Seasons 3 or 4 are her favorite. Brian often answers questions with basically, "I was just happy to have a job." He doesn't literally say that, but it sometimes sounds like the subtext. Rose was shockingly pleasant. That isn't a personal dig at her, but considering her many negative statements regarding the show, it was nice to see her share nice memories. Granted, this isn't the audience to share copious complaints, but I did like hearing her discuss her fondness for the Vampire episode/Bite Me and Charmed Noir, which I know was always a favorite of hers. She was also quite nice in a small story she shared about the stunt crew. It made me wish Alyssa and Rose and Holly and Shannen had better relationships; I would love a Charmed rewatch podcast with the four Charmed Ones.
  25. I haven't gotten a chance to watch this full video, but I was surprised to see Rose there. I've heard so much recently about how much she despised her time on the show that it doesn't seem like something she would want to revisit. That being said, I also heard the con circuit can be quite profitable, and Charmed is still a pretty popular show. I imagine her guest fee and whatever she charges for autographs may be quite lucrative. It's also nice to see someone other than Holly/Brian. I'm sorry, but I didn't care for the Piper/Leo dynamic. Additionally, I don't care for the Holly/Brian one, either. No offense to the actual actors. Lastly, of the little I saw, I was surprised Holly said the Wendigo was her favorite alternate Piper episode. I assumed it would be the Fury. Granted, I'm biased. The fury allowed for so much more emotion and I think it's what truly showed Holly could lead and carry the show as the eldest sister. Rose said vampire, and I agree mostly because I have more trouble thinking of what else Paige became. The Fairytale creatures of the 5th season, the goddess, evil dimension Paige of Bad, Bad x whatever World. I just thought of the Evil Enchantress of Season 4, and that was another favorite of mine.
