  1. I didn't think about Sydney. She's definitely a possibility, and with Allie off-canvas, there's space for another Sami spawn. However, the word usage "reveal" made me think it's a new, not-known-to-the-audience Dimera. Additionally, the fact that the text states the goal is to "integrate Megan back into the family," made me think Megan has a child. In the context of the article, there's no reason why Sydney should care about Megan or Kristen or help them, especially Megan, escape prison. As for Chad, I think the show and the actor have lost all concepts of who Chad is. He's basically an appendage of Stephanie. However, the last scene he shared with the Dimera family was wildly out-of-character. He smiled and hugged Stefan. I honestly couldn't tell if BF forgot that he was supposed to be in character for the scene or if he just doesn't give a damn anymore. Either way, I think Chabby should have had a happily ever after offscreen. BF needs a rest.
  2. I can't say I'm excited for any of these storylines, but another long-lost Dimera is truly sickening to me.
  3. I actually thought the opposite regarding Bope. Bo in a coma gives Hope a reason to return to Salem alone and continue to romantically interact with others, without being unfaithful to Bo. However, Bo in a coma also gives Hope/Romantic Partner a built-in storyline for when/if PR returns. As for Tripp, I think he's like JJ. He just can't sell a romantic pairing. Although, JJ and Theresa were great. I'm not certain why the show didn't explore those two. Tripp/Ciara, Tripp/Claire, Tripp/Allie, Tripp/Wendy. I think that's it. Tripp/Chanel or Tripp/Talia haven't been explored. However, based on Talia's scene with Sloane's brother, I don't think she'll be the vixen I was hoping she'll be, so I'm not certain Tripp and Talia or Chanel would catch on. However, time will tell if the show chooses to explore either pairing.
  4. I think the show forgot to tell us that Chloe no longer works at Dimera. I don't remember a scene of her quitting or getting fired. Wasn't she working for Li? I know he hired her. Also, should Chloe be running out of funds? Her father is rich according to the recent storyline with Craig and Leo, and I would imagine she still has a healthy nest egg from Daniel. Chloe has never been presented as a financially irresponsible character or extravagant in her tastes, so why is she running out of savings?
  5. If Ericole are having a baby, I hope they SORAS it by next summer. Parker, Holly, SORASED Ericole spawn, and SORASED Xarah spawn, and Rachel can be the beginning of a new teen scene. I'm not interested in watching them raise small children.
  6. Don't ask me. I'm still confused as to whether the town square is indoors, outdoors, or has a retractable roof. I feel all have been true at one point or another. I really liked today's show. I liked that the show finally acknowledged that Leo's column sounds mostly boring. I also like Leo and Sloan teaming up for some petty villainy against Rafe and Abe. Both deserve it. I didn't like Sloan's brother or his dynamic with Talia. It seemed abusive and parasitic. I always like super random scenes with random characters like Talia, Chloe, and Xander today. I wonder if Chloe and Xander moving in together will lead to Sloan's brother being revealed. It looks like they may be neighbors. I was surprised to hear Brady and Eric discuss Nicole's affair and Eric's new more mature and empathetic understanding of Nicole's actions. I do think the two missed the biggest difference between Nicole and Chloe. Nicole has a long history of pathetic and toxic decisions for multiple men. Chloe has only been pathetic and toxic for Daniel. Even then, she was able to finally move on sometime after Nicole and Daniel got together. While I'm liking Chloe and Xander, I want the show to do more for Xander atoning to Chloe for his actions. I don't have much to say about Chanel and Alex, but I did like their scenes. Did Chanel do all that baking in that dress?
  7. I thought this episode was a tad bit better than the past two, minus Bope. I liked the Sloan and Melinda scenes. Eric wouldn't be a credible witness. Not only for lying about being a paralegal, as Melinda said, but he also murdered a man in a drunk driving incident. That alone would torpedo his credibility with the jury. Why is the show making Abe so unlikeable? First, they have him rescind a restraining order so his wife can harass Sloan. Today, they give him dialogue that Chanel is the only person who suffering from the tainted biscuits. Um, didn't half the town eat those biscuits, hallucinate, and some even ended up in the hospital like Melinda? Why is this man the mayor? Talia is with a mystery man. Let's see where this goes.
  8. I think the actual reunion has been splendid. I loved the flashbacks from yesterday, Hope breaking whatever happened to Bo, and I loved the dream reunion today which strongly implies it gave Bo a reason to live again. I think the actual reunion feels very Bope. I think the two have always balanced some of the outlandishness you expect of a Soap with the groundedness of their relationship. The actual reunion has worked perfectly for me. They used the word "brainwashed" today, but that doesn't really make sense. I'm not quite certain why Chad is there. The actual storyline has been boring, and the ending feels like the writers either ran out of time or just didn't care. Why is Harris just telling everyone who asks about his lying to Hope for instance? That's in character for Hope. Hope rarely acknowledges Claire. I still remember a scene with Hope, Claire, and Shawn when they were looking for Eve in New York after the Cin wedding explosion. The three are sitting at a table and Hope outright refuses to look at or acknowledge Claire's presence there. This was ORK's Claire who had a tendency for toddler-like temper tantrums, so it was even more obvious because the actress was making decisions that begs for attention, and Hope/KA refused to acknowledge her. I can't remember if Hope and ID's Claire ever shared a scene with each other. That alone speaks volumes. As for today, Johnny/Chanel/Tripp/Wendy is such a waste of time. I really dislike Carson's/Johnny's acting decisions. Today, when he yelled at Leo, was just pathetic and embarrassing. I hate when writers try to recreate a character via their child. I think that's BB's Shawn's biggest problem. However, I can't imagine Sami and EJ's kid being anything like Carson's Johnny. He feels too mellow, too non-threatening, too stable. Too emotionally healthy. The way he wanted to explain the biscuits to Wendy felt too unlike Sami, especially, who would be his primary caregiver since EJ was partly dead and partly in a coma. I know a lot of people hated Allie, but Allie at least had this rashness to her that felt very Sami and WN's Roman. She sometimes just acted and thought about the consequences later like WN's Roman. Johnny feels like he was Clark Kent's 1st cousin, raised on a farm in Kansas to parents who loved and cared for him and tried to instill a strong sense of morality and regard for others. That's simply not who Sami is. I go back and forth on Leo. Today was a day when I didn't understand why he was there.
  9. I completely agree! Receiving bad writing doesn't mean a writer doesn't care about the character. The show obviously cared about Hope after PR's departure. Bringing on Daniel Cosgrove, a somewhat big name in Soaps, killing Stefano which was obviously supposed to be a big arc, the relationship with Rafe who the show saw as one of the leading male characters at the time, being promoted to Police Commissioner, the rivalry with a returned Sami, and even bringing back the Princess Gina persona just to keep Hope onscreen when the show obviously wasn't sure where to go with her. I think the show saw Hope as a priority, but they didn't know how to properly write for the character. That's not exclusive to Hope, unfortunately. But Hope isn't reliant on Bo for a reason to have a purpose on the show, Meagan is. Andrew and Meagan have discussed or referenced Bo much more than Hope has this return. Hell, I actually think it's a failure in the writing that Hope hasn't thought more about Bo. However, from what we've seen, Hope was trying to build a romantic relationship with Harris, reestablishing her friendships with John and Steve, collaborating with Stephanie in their search for Kayla and Thomas and later Steve, and investigating the stolen prisms. Bo had nothing to do with Hope's identity or her reason to be around this return. Also, based on the current storyline for Bo, Hope would be beneficial as Hope has a stronger relationship with Victor than Bo does. This is a relationship that she's built independently of Bo.
  10. I admit it; I was genuinely shocked at Shawn shooting Bo. I can't remember the last time I literally stood up during an episode of Days. Bravo.
  11. The Brady family is "quiet and humble?" WN's Roman, Kimberly, Kayla, Sami, SH's Stephanie, Theresa, and Carrie. I wouldn't consider any of these people quiet and humble. Even AK's Stephanie is the CEO of her own PR firm, which connotes an assertive and ambitious personality; although, we haven't seen it onscreen. I don't consider Eric particularly quiet and humble either. He's prone to fits of rage and alcohol indulgence. Joey attempted to smother a woman to death. I kind of want to say only Will and Allie somewhat fit that description, but Will is an investigative journalist which connotes some type of fearlessness and gumption. Even Caroline was quite feisty if we include her as the Brady matriarch. Does anyone remember when she and Chloe almost got into a fight in the Brady Pub, and Chloe had to be escorted out by Philip? I'm convinced R.C. read a Wikipedia article that defined the Bradys as the working class family, the Kiriakis as the corporate family, the Hortons as the saintly family, and the Dimeras as the evil family, and he bases his characterizations on that reductionist one-liner. He definitely isn't basing it on 4 decades of character development in the case of Bo. I'm going to be honest; I wasn't paying attention to the John/Roman scene. However, Roman said he was in Ireland with Carrie, so why didn't Carrie tell Roman about Marlena. We had a phone call between Carrie and Marlena a week or two ago. I liked the Hope and Bo ending. However, did it look like Bo attempted to reach for his gun at the end? I hope not.
  12. I completely agree. I think Gabi feels out of place right now on the show. She doesn't fit in with the EJ/Nicole/Brady/Chloe crowd and she doesn't fit with the Wendy/Talia/Johnny/Tripp/Chanel crowd. Chad always brings out the worst in Gabi's character, and she would be used to prop Stephanie the same way she propped Abby. I think she needs a rest. Is this the first time Anna and Nicole acknowledged the Sydney situation? I wasn't watching regularly during Anna's 2017 return, so I've been curious if the Sydney/Nicole/EJ/Anna/Sami history has ever been explored. Did we ever find out who kidnapped Anna at the end of the Sydney arc? All that to say, there's no reason why Nicole should ever trust Anna. Nicole should have had this conversation with Brady or Chloe. Anna is not a confidante for Nicole. Tripp should get a restraining order against Wendy. I don't even like Tripp, but I was honestly concerned for his safety. Why does Wendy think it's okay to travel to Seattle without any warning or notice because a man she's not even dating proposed to someone else? Wendy seriously came off as unhinged, and Tripp should not have been understanding. I started off liking Wendy, but she has become shockingly pathetic. Did Paulina really show up for a 3-minute cameo? That was odd. Also, shouldn't Sloane have some type of lawsuit against the city since Paulina admitted the mayor, her husband, rescinded a restraining order solely so Paulina, his wife, can immediately harass the woman who filed the restraining order? I'm not certain why Sloane is supposed to be the villain in this story. Paulina's actions, with several witnesses, should be all the proof Sloane needs for another restraining order and impeachment of Mayor Carver. I know the show is short on sets, but it's odd that two men who are drugging each other are living together. It's odd that Nicole wants to live there after being accidentally drugged by Stefan and with a woman, Anna, who assaulted her. It's odd that Gabi wants to live there with E.J. who stole the house from her, offscreen with no actual explanation to the audience. It's just odd.
  13. I can't imagine E.J. understanding. He's not an understanding man, and he's vindictive and lacks both a moral compass and restraint. Nicole also has a long history of lying to E.J. starting with Sydney/Grace. The two also have a volatile history where they've loved each other just as intensely as they've hated each other. I find it in character for Nicole to lie to E.J. I'll also find it in character for E.J. to seek vengeance against Nicole and Eric. I can't imagine he'll care about the drugging because he isn't a moral and understanding man. Additionally, Nicole reassured E.J. several weeks ago, in real-time not Salem time, that she was completely over Eric, and she was completely devoted to E.J. I imagine that will only fuel E.J.'s motivation to seek retribution.
  14. I wonder how much Shannen even remembers. We're almost 2 decades removed from All Hell Breaks Loose; I question how much time and her own devotion to her narrative impacted her recollection of events. I would be interested in a Shannen and Rose podcast. I'll love to hear Shannen's thoughts on the Post-Prue seasons and how she would have liked storylines to progress. I also think it'd be interesting to hear how she thinks Prue would have developed as a character and her thoughts on the tenacity of the Charmed IP. In some ways, I think it is a stronger IP than Beverly Hills 90210, and why she thinks that is. Honestly, I know this would never happen, but I would love a sit-down interview with the Charmed cast, Constance, and Brad. The various Cons show that the brand is still strong, the characters are still loved, the BTS drama still resonates, and people still want some type of Charmed future that doesn't erase the past. I would love that as the core 4 are still alive, healthy, and opinionated, and I would like to see them together again. I know it wouldn't happen, but I'll dream.
  15. I agree about Xander/Chloe. There's just something about Chloe and a Kiriakis man that is irresistible. LOL. Watching today, I wondered what was the point of Chloe/Stefan. The show made a somewhat big deal of the two sleeping together for New Year's, but it's April and Chloe doesn't seem to be pregnant. Speaking of Stefan, Stefan and Melinda seemed like a chem test, and for me, they passed. I liked Melinda feeling like a real character, and I liked seeing Stefan smile. A Dimera and a DA love affair, in theory, could have storyline potential, but I wouldn't want the show to turn Melinda into a villain. I'm curious about these two, but I'm cautious because I do like Melinda as a character. I officially hate Chanel. I'm not certain how a story about her being targeted and the victim of a pervy professor somehow makes Chanel so utterly unlikeable to me. I wish the actress would approach scenes regarding Sloan differently, but at this point, she's also justified in her anger. I just really want this storyline to be over. I'm going to immediately contradict myself because I do like the poison biscuits and Talia being treacherous. I am curious about Talia's motives, and I do like that we the audience know that Sloan is innocent. I also like how the biscuits are another point of reference for Eric in his growing distrust of Sloan. I like Eric and Sloan. I like that Sloan obviously likes Eric, but she also displays a level of self-respect that seems rare on Soaps. She isn't groveling, or telling Eric she'll be a better person, or promising to stop her vendetta against Chanel/Paulina. She tells Eric who she is, what she wants, how she plans to get it, and to either get with the program or let her go. While she has a lot of similarities with Nicole, I actually think Sloan's self-respect is what so drastically distinguishes her from Nicole. This is a Soap and Sloan is an antagonist, so I'm certain I'll eat my words. However, I can't imagine Sloan debasing herself for Eric in the ways that Nicole has for Eric, Daniel, and EJ. Again, I'm certain I'll eat my words. I'm convinced EJ hallucinated the copy machine as being Sami, hence the nude photos as he believed he was making love to his Samnanther. Lastly, how does news get around Salem? Xander knew yesterday about the biscuits but Chloe had no idea. Granted, Chloe said she was running errands, so there's at least some excuse. However, Nicole and Eric still seemingly had no idea at the beginning of the episode, yet EJ knew in the midst of trying to email his employees and the board his fanny side nudes.
  16. Now that you mention it, I do remember Ciara saying she and Ben were in Baltimore. For me, the bigger issue is the show going out of its way to indicate Hope and Shawn aren't speaking. Shawn had some dialogue stating he hadn't spoken to Hope in months before her return to the show. Hope didn't know about Marlena, Hope, and Kayla's deaths until John and Steve informed her. Shawn and Andrew's scene indicated Shawn still hadn't spoken to Hope. Today's episode shows that Hope has access to her cell phone and Chad and Stephanie knew exactly where she was. It's odd to me that the show is giving us direct dialogue that Hope and Shawn aren't talking when Hope doesn't appear to be undercover anymore. I can't even remember any dialogue of Hope even acknowledging Shawn, but maybe there was some in her scene with Ciara.
  17. Besides Brady and John and John and Marlena, I didn't enjoy any of the pairings today. Have Cin already left Salem? I'd much rather have seen a Marlena and Ben reunion scene. Marlena and Alex did nothing for me. It makes sense why Marlena would smile and be giddy with Ben. It doesn't with Alex. AK/Stephanie's voice never has a sense of urgency. Her father's missing, Harris tried to kill her, her shoes are untied all have the same bland and apathetic tone. I used to like SH's Kristen, but she's changed the way she portrays her. Something about her feels almost like 1966 Catwoman to me. She always seems like she's about to hiss at her screen partner. Bo/Steve/Kayla are just boring and redundant. I wonder if Bo and VK's Ciara would have good father-and-daughter chemistry. At this point, I guess we'll never know. So now, Hope has seen Ciara, Steve, John, Harris, Stephanie, and Chad, yet she still hasn't seen Shawn. Has she even acknowledged Shawn's existence?
  18. "How's tricks?" Was that supposed to be a Falcon Crest reference? I'm interested to see Talia's motivation for drugging the biscuits.
  19. I do, too. I can't believe I'm saying that, but I haven't seen Chloe look at someone with such a sultry look since Dan the Tan Man. Even her body language with Xander feels more confident and more 2009-era Chloe. I love it! I also like Melinda and Stefan. Melinda has a "you fucked up" look and Stefan has an "I know" look. I think they play off each other well, and something about Gabi feels out of place to me right now. She feels like she doesn't fit in with the younger characters, i.e., Johnny, Chanel, Talia, and Wendy. Like she feels just old enough to be a mentor to them and not a peer. But she doesn't feel adult enough for Chloe, Brady, Nicole, and EJ.
  20. No one said anything about celibacy, so I'm not certain where that came from. Also was his love unrequited, I seem to remember Caroline being pissed at the end of the Victor/Maggie/Caroline storyline to the point of seeking revenge against Philip/Chloe/Daniel/Parker. I think Victor genuinely loved Caroline, but I also think he also moved on from that love with both Kate and Maggie. With both, I don't remember any pining from Victor regarding Caroline, and Victor chose Maggie over Caroline and never seemed to regret the choice. So far, Jada isn't Rafe, Bo, or Roman. We haven't seen her outright break the law to hide the crimes of a loved one or family member, so I don't think there's reason to believe she's lying. I genuinely hate Johnny, EJ, and Stefan. Not in a love-to-hate type way. In a way where I am wishing for a meteor to fall on the Dimera house and kill all of them. I wasn't even a Stefano fan, and I still feel endless empathy for him that those three are a part of his legacy. Eric really is self-righteous. He pulled a gun on Kristen when he believed she was responsible for his mom's latest death. Sloan has filed a series of lawsuits and restraining orders. Sloan is not the unhinged one in this pairing. Johnny calls Sloan that "horrible woman." Yet he's Stefan's biggest defender, a man he hardly knows and barely interacts with. This is also the man who raped Abby, attempted to keep her mentally ill, helped her lock his Grandma Marlena in a room where she almost died of toxins, and was drugging his father just a few weeks ago. Sloan has filed a series of lawsuits and restraining orders. I wish Sami was around to shoot Johnny in the head as she did his father. Is Ron about to write a city-wide rape storyline?
  21. Is this entirely true? When the show had that mini Victor/Caroline/Maggie love triangle, Victor chose Maggie. Victor never seemed to regret that decision. I think Victor truly loved Caroline, Kate, and Maggie. I agree with you that I'm not certain Caroline was as in love with Victor as he was with her, but I do think he moved on from that love.
  22. Not much to say about today. I did like Chloe's line, "That's how you treat dirt, like dirt," and I've already added that to my repertoire of comebacks. I'm not feeling Talia and Chanel. I wish Eric and Jada had played some lingering romantic subtext between the two, but it seems that they are just dead, for now, as a potential pairing. I like Sloan, but I feel every scene of hers is a repeat. This story really needs to move forward. I also thought it seemed out of character that Sloan wouldn't press charges against Chanel for slapping her in public. I know Sloan and Nicole have gotten into slapping matches, but Sloan hasn't used the law against Nicole, yet, the way she uses it against Chanel and Paulina. There was also an entire town square of witnesses. I actually kinda liked what Leo was wearing today.
  23. I'm honestly enjoying the Xander and Chloe scenes. That's not what I was expecting. I like that he's still roguish and a reprobate with her, but she seems to help smooth out those rougher edges. I'm interested in the Chloe and Gwen scenes as we've only seen them interact once, from my memory, and I'm curious if Xander would make Chloe a little rougher as a character. If the show intends to pursue them as a couple, I hope the show actually allows them to seriously discuss El Fideo. Chloe laughing about someone leaving her to die isn't as romantic as the show thinks it is. I also hope the show remembers Xander kidnapped Holly and faked her death when Chloe was the legal guardian during the El Fideo Cartel wants revenge on Chloe storyline. It seems Ron forgot that portion of their history. Did the show forget the "Belle in a coma and Marlena believes it's Brady's fault" storyline? There were times, like that storyline, when Marlena was justifiably angry at Brady and she communicated it to anyone who would listen. If I remember correctly she went behind John's back with Roman to try to get Brady arrested. Didn't she also give one of her patented Marlena slaps to Brady? Obviously, the two moved past it, but Marlena wasn't always patient, nor should she have been. I also think a major difference between Rachel and Chloe and Marlena and Brady is Brady was a 6-foot-something teenager. Yeah, still a kid in the grand sense of the world, but preteen (?) Rachel presents a very different threat to a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship than legal adult Brady presents to the marriage of John and Marlena. Is Xander the new Philip? He exists to feud with every man on canvas. I like Xander vs. Brady a lot more than Xander vs. Alex. St. Maggie? Didn't Maggie refuse to go through with the deal because Alex bribed an international government official with company money? Not wanting to be a part of easily traceable federal crime hardly makes someone a saint. I doubt Victor would allow such an, again, easily traceable crime to be committed on Titan's dime. Did I say this crime would be easily traceable enough times? Maggie hardly comes off as the unintelligent one in this scenario. Yesterday with Wendy and today with Maggie we've had characters introduced more than halfway into the episode. I've always disliked when Soaps do that. I like to know who I'm watching for that day in the opening 5 minutes before the opening.
  24. I laughed at the stamp being placed above the state's name for Salem. I rewound and even paused but couldn't make out the name. It looked like it may have said Salem, Salem. I know others are much better at deciphering than I am. This Bo return has to be one of the worst. Kayla reading the letter reminded me of the Colleen Brady and Santo Dimera storyline from the late 2000s. I'm shocked the show didn't hire VK as a young Caroline and RSW as a young Victor to act out this love story. I hate Tripp. Would it be rude if I hope his plane crashes? It's a Soap; he'll still be back in 5 months with little explanation as to why, but for a little while, I could at least dream. I wish the show invested time into new Stephanie's relationship with Stayla before this storyline. I simply don't care about her turmoil regarding Kayla. Hope and Harris are boring. I was rooting for Bo to stab Steve.
  25. I thought this episode was mostly terrible until we got to the Bo and Steve reveal at the end. I don't think BB's Shawn looks anything like Bo. He's a spitting image of KA's Hope. It's almost uncanny to me how much they look alike for them to not be related in real life. He also acts nothing like Bo. The scenes with Megan were just pointless. The Brady family dynamic is so confusing to me. Andrew told Harris that he barely knew Bo because he was raised in California. However, he seems to have pretty good relationships with Hope and Shawn. Hope and Shawn still haven't talked to each other since Shawn had no idea she was in Greece or with Harris. I've never seen a firstborn be as unloved as Shawn is. I despise Stephanie and Tripp. I could barely pay attention to Maggie and Alex. I'm not a fan of Kayla in general. Hope and Harris show why Hope's pairings don't catch on outside of Bo. What's the point in investing when we know the inevitable reunion is around the corner for Bope. Also, I think KA really struggles with romantic chemistry outside of PR's Bo.
