  1. NATE (to Brenda in front of David) "Did you know I taught David how to masturbate ?" BRENDA: "No.....I've gotta go." Season 2, ep. 1 {Nate was high on the remaining ecstasy pill after the dinner party with Nikoli/Gabe/ and siblings}
  2. funkopop, Peter Krause so ruled that episode. It was truly heart-wrenching. Again showing the way death affects a person...... I remember a few years ago, I drove my Aunt Berma to her sister's graveside service {my Aunt Vinnie}, and because of her age, I wondered if Berma was up for it since the funeral might have taken it's toll, but she said she wanted to go "as far with her as she could" and I've never forgotten that love. Nate did the same for Lisa. {On a side note, I really feel that this episode was meant to be the finale for Season 3.......I personally believe HBO split it off for some reason.}
  3. I just remembered the one with the death of the blonde young guy at the ATM. I love how he played a pivotal role as a ghost to David in letting David understand how to take some pride in himself and continue his coming out process. This show still resonates with some new things every time I re-watch......It's empowering.
  4. YES!.....Claire was at Nate's funeral and had that flashback of being a kid when she entered Nate's room. He was listening to "All Apologies" because Kurt Cobain had just died. He was sobbing and smoking a doobie and he offered Claire a hit. Kurt's death was to him like John Lennon's death was to me.
  5. Punkypower.....all those are fantastic!!!......and I just remembered a very favorite:::Ruth and the women singing "Calling All Angels"--season 5 when Sarah's friend falls off the canyon cliff. CHILLS!!!!! Ruth's voice is amazing here. Also "Woodstock" by Joni Mitchell from that sad scene of Ruth and the cassette Claire brought back from Sarah's party.
  6. I guess giving Tyler a good back rub wins his vote.
  7. From the opening credits to Sia's "Breathe" in the finale, there were so many wonderful music moments featured in Six Feet Under. The uplifting "Oh Happy Day" when the elderly black gentleman died in the funeral home driveway to "Let's Go Out Tonight" when Ruth shows up at Hiram's doorstep. From Death Cab For Cutie's "Transatlanticism" when the 5 friends are high in Claire's room painting 'I want you so much closer'.......From a sweet version of "Teach Your Children" at Lisa's funeral to magnifying opera and David & Keith singing "Rocket Man". What are some of your favorite music moments?
  8. Richard Jenkins is brilliant in "THE VISITOR" film. He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance. Lauren Ambrose is in a good film "STARTING OUT IN THE EVENING" with Frank Langella and SFU's Lili Taylor. Rainn Wilson {Arthur} is in a new Fox show "BACKSTROM" which I haven't watched yet. Sandra O {Grey's Anatomy} Dean Norris {Breaking Bad; Under The Dome} Shawn Hatosy {Southland} Michael Cudlitz {Southland; Walking Dead} ==frontier wilderness hike instructor. Steve Pasquale(sic) {Rescue Me}==square dance instructor; ecstasy pill provider ;-)
  9. My favorite is the female decapitation in the limo====Rico's 'Sistine Chapel' That death of Beth Grant and the adult balloons was a hoot too. Second coming of.....{splat} My saddest is Gabe's little brother accidentally shoots himself with the gun. That scene where he brings the brother's soccer uniform to the funeral home and Claire answers the door. {getting emotional just thinking about it} That death with the infant and Rico's scenes during that were heart-breaking too.
  10. Season 1 "Pilot" Male mourner to David standing in front of casket: "If there's any justice in the universe, she's shoveling shit in hell."
  11. Have started another re-watch. Just wanted to say this is my favorite series of all time. I love how it affects me. Alan Ball grew up in the vicinity where I did in metro-Atlanta and I can relate to the writing and characters on a deep level. I grew up scared of funerals and funeral homes. I love all the walks of life presented in this show. I don't get the animosity toward this show from some posters. Aren't we all affected by death? Maybe it's too real for some, but that is it's greatest appeal-the way death affects us all. I will be forever grateful to Alan and the whole team for the gift of this show. NATE:"I don't know if I can handle this." BRENDA: "Well, you're about to find out."
