Ok so I was burping the baby so might have missed something but why was Grey shooting someone such a big deal? They are in shoot outs with casualties literally every episode. Why was this so different?

    Bailey continues to suck.

I can't remember the story specifics but that is your normal TV trope where your officer shots more rounds in 20 episodes that entire 10,000 officer departments do in a year.

Then you get to the very special episode where police use of violence becomes an issue and our hero showing signs of PTS.  As an older guy eligible to retire who normally resides at his watch commander's desk Sergeant Grey is thought of as having served his dues and past the unexpected violence just happens stage of his career.  That is for younger guys like Officer Nolan 😉 or field supervisors like Sergeant Bradford.

So, availability dvd/Blu-ray is contingent on how long it will stream? That wasn’t the case with all the other Marvel movies.

I'm just speculating.  Most Marvel movies came before Disney + launched and then we hit the COVID era. Now the Disney divisions need to start showing the shareholders some wins.

From what articles I could find, DVD for this comes out on October 24-yet not available to preorder from Amazon like I normally can for other movies. Like other movies I could order two months before release, but this movie doesn’t show up AT ALL.

Disney probably hasn't decided how long to hold the exclusive rights for + subscribers

It is though.  It's used in the exact same connotation - a dork who lives in his mom's basement & can't get a date.  It's used in the same dismissive way "nerd" was used in the past, to imply the person is a loser & so can be dismissed.

    Consider the following two quotes...

They convey the same meaning.  Same bullies, new terms.

The problem being that streaming is not selling the right eyeballs to advertising firms which support the show. Streaming sells to the nerds who bought the toys and books which caught the eyes of investors to get money out of the franchise. Without the nerds keeping the IP in the businessman's eye Star Wars is just another 70s movie

I don’t think I’ve ever liked Peyton List in anything I’ve seen her in.

Watching the new viewer post is telling me that much of the series went in and out. Since the rules changed on actor's credits my first question was which Peyton List was on the show? 😀

I guess Mad Men and not Cobra Kai

I hate the 1990s and later trend of cameos from earlier shows.

As according to TFPOBA, Arnold Jackson is almost thirty and... still living with his adoptive white father? ^_^

Of course TV was a strong advocate of launching the kids. Normally only southern and eastern European ethnic families would have adult children at the family's home. Except the Meathead of course

I don't think I said this, but I think that, on Emergency!, when the doctors (Brackett, Early and Morton) or the nurse (McCall) have paramedics Gage and DeSoto do whatever it is they do for any patient/victim they're dealing with, it's more in the form of directions than orders (because I don't think of the paramedics as working under the doctors and nurse, but rather working with and alongside them [albeit the doctors and nurse were rarely at any scenes that the paramedics were at]).

Consider Jack Webb produced Emergency! as a this is the new thing, the pilot episode even having Governor Reagan sign the authorization for paramedics into law when earlier in the episode they had to pick up RN McCall to administer medications for the up until then a  rescue team. As other shows started showing paramedics, a short lived LA County Sheriff's Deputy/Paramedic show right after Emergency! was cancelled  240-Robert comes to mind, had paramedics operate increasingly independent of the base station ER doctors and nurses.

Actually I’m getting concerned that this will be a massive anticlimax. Because of the build up. It could still be excellent and get flak. Also if they kill a fan favorite….it is just difficult to balance these things. Well, good luck to them. Wish the wait was over.

Right now everything is pointing to that after the fanatics base failures of Secret Invasion, She-Hulk and The Marvels K.E.V.I.N sacked the showrunners,  ordered hard right rudder for the franchise and put the Netflix Defenders saga veterans in charge of the half completed Daredevil

I used to sit through the credits, not just for post credit scenes, but also by the time they're done, the crush is gone and the lobby and/or bathrooms were usually clear.

It started before that, with Ferris Bueller in 1986

The key with the early MCU was the post credit was story related. Sure a fan would have found out about long before what the scene pointed to hit the theaters. But sites like this one made the post credits fair to talk about with friends

Yeah my understanding is the delay in it coming to streaming was pretty much entirely the music rights, so I can see why they made the decision. I've still not watched it but seen some people complaining about it and it was hard to know if they had a point or were being drama llamas.

I just watched the Homicide: Life on the Street pilot and like The Wire became famous for there was no soundtrack music. Just environmental music characters would have on leaking through. Maybe they added music later. But like Cold Case always being on syndication because those replay rights had long ago been negotiated you would think ad supported streaming would have similar deals.

They'll be fine - they're getting ready to eviscerate Rings of Power and will happily go to town on upcoming MCU projects.

I think that when you are running a paid subscription service and not a target a demographic for the advertisers service,  has changed who you should be making your shows for.

When you buy the rights to the shows of the Nerds and then produce content aimed  to other audiences you run into problems. You are trying to build a new audience with the IP name that drew in the nerds.

And when the Nerds are upset they don't produce the free marketing creating   the excitement  that the general audience picks up upon. Although Deadpool & Wolverine success and Daredevil: Born Again being pulled to reboot on the fly suggest a MCU reboot they will probably have a hard 2025 coming before the course corrected movies show up in 2026.

I feel in the confusion of the blip Bullseye might be able start his rise to Mayor.

Kingpin you mean. Bullseye is getting a 6 million dollar spine. Perhaps the murder cases fell apart due to witnesses blipping away. But what we have seen of the two from other shows there seems to be a ceasefire in Matt's war.
