I guess if I had experienced a living nightmare like the residents of Westview did, I would have moved away from there ASAP, let alone before three years had elapsed.

Consider that this world had seen half of the population supernaturally disappear and reappear 5 years later along with alien invasions. That while the Wanda Maximoff's were rare those folks were not the one off unique and thus another one could literally  strike anywhere. No place beyond New York City that had more than its share had proven more or less immune from being hit

  2. I'm near the end of season 3 Fidelity, Security Delivery and got another Woody, from Crossing Jordan, and Sam B or C story.  I wonder if the producers thought they had chemistry or NBC pushed to continue that particular Tommyversing crossovers.

A quick Google search seems that writers on the subject didn't consider this a crossover just a guest star coming with his character intact.

So did the former Westview residents just voluntarily return there for reasons? Or were they revictimized by the spell?

They stayed home, it seems that the woman they knew as Agnus remained under the spell. I think one of those guys in Agatha's dream state was that Damage Control Agent.

Aubrey Plaza did seem to say that there had been many copies of the Darkhold, not the single universe jumping book that the plots from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Wanda Vision and Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness seemed to suggest it was.

    News!

    https://gizmodo.com/karate-kid-movie-2024-ralph-macchio-jackie-chan-sony-1851039070

I never saw the 2010 reboot. At the time my Sensei was incensed, saying that his Yellow Belts were better than Jaden Smith.

It looks like Jacob Bertrand/Hawk is the Tom Holland spoiler king of the Miyagi-verse. With this story that Ralph Macchio/Mr. LaRusso told him that he is nervous about "fighting" Jackie Chan/Mr. Han

With that Mr. Han movie being a close to a shot by shot remake of Mr. Miyagi's The Karate Kid, only with 10 year old's fighting over their Ali instead of 16 year old's, I can't think of a scenario where the two should get into a fight.

The point is that passionate fanbases are not necessarily LARGE fanbases and thus are often not enough to keep a show from being cancelled simply because there are not enough of them actually viewing the show.  Passion does not always equal viewing numbers.

But then again it's not advertisers but direct buyers of merchandise from Disney and buying content by subscribing to Disney + that is now important. If you are selling Star Wars merchandise and Star Wars fanatics say no thanks then  you made bad business decisions.

  6. I'm waiting to see how they "finish it" on Cobra Kai even if the first third of the last season was maybe the worse run of the series. Also did they really change course on the MCU's Daredevil.

I am going into it prejudiced with hate in my heart but I will give the 1990s period piece young Gibbs show  NCIS: Origins   a shot

I see this kind of thing all the time, and it never ceases to amaze me. A picture of a film or TV star from the 70s or 80s, captioned 'You won't believe what she looks like today!!' Um, really? Given that that was 40 or 50 years ago, I probably will believe it. Why is it being brought up?

    Idiocy.

The look what happened post on Facebook being mentioned looks like the clickbait ads I used to see here on the bottom bar before I gave up trying to read this site without an ad blocker. There were both the she still looks good at x age along with the National Enquirer don't feel bad about yourself look at this star without makeup type.

  8. It wouldn't work as a stand alone scene but after getting to know the detectives of the 13th Precinct on Barney Miller a man claiming to be a time travelling historian from the future hears Arthur Dietrich's name and is in awe of the great man while a co worker Sergeant Harris reaction to this was priceless.

Amen Brenda and Pope were treated differently on the Closer. She had to answer for everything she did while he didn't. Women aren't allowed to be bumbling as men are nobody would find it funny if a woman couldn't do housework or care for her kids.

Keep in mind Chief Johnson was the ultimate outsider on The Closer. Given the premise that at the time the LAPD at that time would not take transfers and the only way to hire a Lieutenant was as a Chief so all of those command level Captains, Commanders and Chiefs she jumped over when hired showed her disrespect, it was the entire point of the show.

In the sequel the second in command Lieutenant fully expected to take over the unit as a Lieutenant when Major Crimes premiered.

Streaming has changed the television model so much that I'm not really sure if this is even applicable anymore, but I do think luck is still an element.

Also, passionate fanbases are not necessarily the same thing as lots of viewers.

I've gotten to the point of assuming that anything I like will be cancelled and am happily surprised if it doesn't happen.

Where passionate fan bases comes in, especially where the streamer owns the merchandise, is their eyeballs and wallets play a bigger role than the proper eyeballs sold to soap advertisers. They are counted on to buy show and the action figures

Honestly, I'm fine if fewer actresses are pressed into being naked on camera.

I guess I've been trained by TV more than "prestige TV" R rated movies  and porn. But I can't get partners to keep their bra on.

Is Mother’s Day really that big a thing in US? Like it’s big where I’m from but not everywhere is booked out, it’s the end of the world if not celebrated kind of thing..

I guess Mother's Day is the biggest non holiday quasi celebration day in America. Sundays are already busy enough being the general day off and the latent do no work attitudes from scriptures.  Then adding on being the maybe primary day to Christmas time to get children do something for mom because the child is not also receiving gifts, does see to restaurants being doubly packed.

    It only had one season.

Something like... 6 episodes? (or at least it felt like six episodes) had their first or second halves on the spinoff, so you need to watch if you want to get a conclusion or figure out wtf is going on on that episode

The Rookie: Feds had a full 22 episode season with most of the surviving The Rookie original cast making appearances. They had the running gag or portraying Smitty doing actual productive police work on the perimeter of FBI crime scenes.

Hawk/Eli beating the shit out that cackling jackal of a Jack Black wannabe when Kreese brings in his new recruits in ep. 4 might be the most satisfying beat down of the whole series. I REALLY can't stand that guy.

These years later on the re watch what I noticed even Tory was  shying away from Hawk's latest no mercy finish him moment. This time he had no hesitation as when Eli went ahead and broke Dimitri's arm.

But beating down the big guy wasn't my moment, it was Hawk's post fight stare down of all of the karate boys from both dojos high school bully, up to that point, Kyler

Then again, this is why we can watch Saving Private Ryan with its many scenes of battle related gore without issue, but women on TV have sex with their bras on.

It is a weird world where movie fighting gore can come to TV but in the quest for the most marketable rating "prestigious TV" sexual content doesn't make it to mainstream movies anymore
