That's it? Anna won't be pleased if JB/Meech want to visit.

I thought it was 2 visists per month of 2 adults each visit or 1 adult & 1 child over 5yrs age. If so, I can't see Anna going without a male headship to the big bad heathen prison. Maybe Anna + JB or Anna + David Waller.

Regarding Anna procreating past #7, the simplest solution (not necessarily the most scientifically sound solution) was to collect the FF's swimmers while staying at the Reber's in a cup & toss them in the freezer. Then insert them in a turkey baster at will. To quote Jessa, "Walla".

Anna definitely has a sense of entitlement, and I could totally see her trying to get the rules bent for her sake. I imagine that when she does get her way someone pays for it once she's behind closed doors. I bet she screams and throws things. I just don't see her as the stoic face she outwardly portrays.

Didn't 'Got Hard' (still love that auto correct) preach that if his flock followed his basic life principles others will recognize their superior moral character and give them whatever they wanted? Something like that.

There have been a few references in other Gothardites' social media that Anna is seen as a role model for Godly Young Women (tm). I've always inferred that means she got a certain amount of social status for standing by her man after scandals 1 and 2, instead of heading for the hills like any sensible heathen. There are also some hints that being a fundy sweetheart is more important to her than it is to her sister-in-laws like Jana, Abbie and Kendra. I think the fame she got and might still be getting from her community is enough to hold her for now. With Josh out of sight and mind for twelve years, that may change, though.

Since fundies believe satan is always busy trying to build fortresses in people's hearts it's not a stretch to think they may also believe  themselves to be continually tested by god. As I recall, the bible is full of such stories.

Anna may well see her situation as a direct test from god.

No way is she going to fail her 'helpmeet test' and forfeit her bejeweled martyrs crown now.

  4. Normally I really enjoy the Dr. Proctor visits but this one left me confused and w/a bad taste in my mouth.

Im confused about the Dr.'s whole emphasis on 'Meghan only has a few more months left to lose weight, if that, & then she won't be able to lose any more'. Has Dr. Now ever expresssed this belief? His patients appear to lose weight for years after surgery as evidenced by the many follow-up episodes.

Dr. P's assertion was similar to Tina's appointment last episode where he told her she probably couldn't lose weight on her own and maintain it without surgery.

Also, I thought it was a little mean to tell Meghan she was one of his least successful patients. IIRC Meghan was near 500lbs at the beginning of Too Large and now she's 303lbs. That's almost 200lbs lost in 1 1/2yrs. If that's his least successful patient then Dr. P has a remarkable success rate as a physician.

On a more shallow note, Vannessa's foundation makeup at Dr. P's was so light and so unblended at her jawline that she looked like a clown. I don't blame Vannessa as she is inexperienced w/TV cameras and lighting but are you telling me that no one in that TLC film crew noticed or tried to help her out? Kinda crappy IMHO.

Who is this alleged “family friend?” What a bunch of nonsense .

For some reason David Waller immediately came to mind.

Maybe it was the slightly 'off' speech style quoted in the article or the fact that the source seemed well acquainted with pappa Keller's prison ministry.

Waller was also regularly present at the Disgusting Turd's trial in support of Anna.

    Just my guess.

  6. The fact that both Vannessa & her sister have the same explosive temper makes me think they grew up surrounded by that and came to believe that rage and screaming are acceptable behaviors.

I bet if someone called Vannessa out on her unacceptable behavior she would unleash a screaming torrent of foul language accusing the person of attacking and judging her and not accepting her the way she is. In other words, the problem isn't her behavior, it's her victim's.

Meghan is right, there is lots of dysfunction here.

There is something really weird about this picture. Jessa, Ben and Fern in particular look like cardboard cutouts propped up for a photo. I agree that both Spurgeon and Henry look unwell, but they might just be worn out from a long day at the TTH.

I'm thinking photoshop fail. No way this photo was taken in front on the Duggar tree. Looks like "Bin" may have been edited in as well.

My Dad was a type 2 diabetic.  He lost weight the old fashioned way. Diet and exercise. He didn't have 100's of pounds to lose just about 25 or 30 pounds but he did it and got off ALL diabetes medication.

Kudos to your dad. Doing things the old fashioned way isn't easy but it's incredibly satisfying.

The problem/question is that Chris claimed to be Type 1 Diabetic & can someone w/Type 1 get to the point where they don't need insulin or pills? IDK.

Retired teacher here, (almost 14 years, so it's been a while!) I know things have changed, but when I was teaching 5th grade, students in learning support were graded at the level they were working. (i.e. maybe a second grade math level, maybe a third grade reading level) So that child may have received an A in math, while a non support child might receive a C on a fifth grade level.. The unfairness of this system, I always thought, was that the support student could receive honors because their grades did not reflect their level. I don't know if Tammy was in special education, so I am not addressing mom's comments. I just wanted to state that graduating with honors may not be what Mom thought it was. And, the unfairness to me was toward the non support student doing his/her best at a higher level, and receiving lower grades. Just some food for thought!

This ^^. Was going to say, currently in my school district, high school special education & life skills students are eligible for the honor roll & high honor roll. Many parents feel  this is not fair. Parents on both sides have been very vocal about it.

To bring it back to Tammy, just because Tammy graduated with honors doesn't necessarily mean much. She could have crushed AP Physics and Calculus or excelled in a remedial or life skills class. Unless we see her school records we'll  never know for sure.

I don’t get what Tammy means about carbon monoxide poisoning.  Did she get it from the car ride or inside the rehab?

Actually, from posts I've read by respiratory therapists it is carbon dioxide poisoning. It has to with not being able to breathe properly. As I understand it, its a build up of carbon dioxide in the blood stream although I may be mistaken.

  11. The 8 bottles of hard liquor a week, are we really talking 750ml (5ths) of hard liquor or those itty bitty single shot bottles sold at the register? This is 1 time I hope Tammy IS lying.

Notice Tammy physically rocking backing & forth while talking to & about Dr. Smith? That's a self soothing behavior/kid's do that & baby's love to be rocked.

  12. I find it interesting that both Dr. Smith & Tammy's siblings chalk Tammy's binge drinking/vaping/possible drug use to her 'hitting bottom' or just giving up.

I'm no psychologist but I see Tammy as a manipulative rebellious teenager acting out to get attention.

Tammy's drinking & partying didn't start until Chris, Amanda, Misty & Amy all washed their hands of Tammy & told her she's on her own. The siblings are moving on with their lives, esp. with Amy moving away & Chris getting bariatric surgery/losing a significant amt. of weight. Queen Tammy no longer has everyone to wait on her & be at her beck and call. She's no longer the center of attention & she knows it.

By being a 'problem' child Tammy has once again forced herself to the front & center of her familys' lives. They sit around talking about her, calling her, visiting her, catering to her, etc. etc. Maybe Tammy even thought that now her siblings have no choice but to take care of her.

    Anyway, that's my armchair diagnosis.

Just like when Amy and Chris told Tammy they were approved for surgery, I don't think Tammy even said congratulations. She barely acted excited talking with Amy and even in her confessionals, she was stumbling over her words trying to say she was proud of her. She really cant be happy for anyone else about anything positive -- not life changing surgery, buying a house, not even a vacation.

Amy sized Tammy up pretty well in s1: "If it's not for Tammy or about Tammy you (she) don't care".

  14. Just a thought, no denying mom Slaton is a real bitch but if what she says is true about  about working 2-3 jobs at a time to keep a roof over her kids' heads & clothes on their backs, having a lazy ass daughter like Tammy who does nothing but lay around the house all day & stuff her face must be a bitter pill to swallow. Add to that Tammy's absolute refusal to take responsibility for anything & wanting everyone do everything for her & I can see how mom Slaton might be disappointed  & disgusted by Tammy.

Yes, the rest of mom Slaton's kids are dysfunctional but they are still able to hold down jobs (exception Amy), maintain households, raise kids & are generally independent contributing members of society. None of the above can be said about Tammy.

Again, no denying Darlene (mom Slaton) is awful, but I just can't imagine what it would be like having a daughter like Tammy.

You're right! I thought that was a hair clip because the headband blended in with her hair color. You can still see her hairline, & it's high. I just have no idea why she wears it. I found this article about her, & they must have had their kids before they got married because their daughter is old enough to be living with a girlfriend, & their son Brandon is old enough to be married & have a child (which, unfortunately died). This confuses me even more because it sounds like she's a devout Christian, which doesn't work with the whole "children before marriage" thing.

Chris has 2 adult children, a boy & a girl, from a previous marriage. He stated this at the beginning of season 2 when we 1st 'met' him. 2nd wife Brittany is much younger than Chris. Again his words from season 2, ep 1 presumably.

Tammy has someone new to blame, it's US! We are apparently holding her back. She posted a new TikTok video from the hospital. I'm not having any luck getting the video to post correctly, so the Reddit thread I saw it in is under the video.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/1000lbsisters/comments/rrlnqv/an_update_from_tammy_in_rehab_amy_isnt_the/

    So, to recap:

First it was Tammy's mom Darlene's fault for working 2-3 jobs to actually keep a roof over Tammy's head & clothes on her back as a child.

Then it was Amy's fault for not getting Tams the foods she wanted.

Then it was internet fans' fault for encouraging Tammy & asking how her diet was going.

Then it was covid-19's fault for making Tammy stay home & gain weight despite Tammy claiming she was already homebound due to her weight for the immediately preceeding 6 years.

Then it was Amy & Michael's fault for not 'doing more' for Tammy.

Then it was Chris's fault for not coming by every day/enough.

Then it was Amy's fault for being 'lazy' and not taking care of Tammy.

Then it was Tisa for not taking Tams out to places.

Then it was Tisa for making Tammy walk when she didnt feel like it & was in pain.

Now, it's our fault. And TLC's fault.

    Did I miss anything?

Tammy dear, I'm going to say this as sincerely & humanely as I can.

    It's not us. It's YOU.

  17. IMHO we've given Tammy way too much credit; she's not like a 11-12yr old tween. She's more like a 3 yr old and that's being generous.

I swear, everytime I see Tammy's stupid pouty face when she doesn't get her way I just want to smack her silly. And then she threatens to "shut down". Oooh, what a threat! Tammy is is gonna shut down. And not talk. And just sit there. And be quiet. And do nothing. And sit there. What ever will we do?!

I guess I shouldn't be shocked. After all, this is the 32 yr old woman who stuck her fingers in her ears when her sister was approved for weight loss surgery and she wasn't (season 1).  I guess if she was wasn't 600 lbs she could have layed on the floor & kicked & screamed like a toddler.

If I was Tisa I would have left Tammy's fat ass on the curb of the YMCA & drove away. What's Tammy going to do? She doesn't own the minivan as its likely a production owned vehicle. I hope Tisa is being paid well by tlc & the Slatons to deal w/such bullshit from Queen Tammy.

TLC could make a whole series based on that. "1,000 LB Sisters: Road to Las Vegas"

Please dear Lord, do not let that tlc 1000lb Sister's 'Slaton family rv vacation preview' be a road trip to Las Vegas for Tammy to meet up w/her feeder boyfriend.
