  1. Asia, Heat of the Moment, and at least one other than I can't remember at the moment.
  2. Two weeks in a row I haven't really meant to watch it but ended up ... watching it because: As others have said, Cobie Smulders is carrying the show with her charisma. She adds layers and complexity to what could have been yet another tough woman with a heart of gold. Grey is my new tv crush. Is it just me? Jake Johnson is easy on the eyes as is, but as a character with a sketchy past yet still so loyal to Dex - sign me up. That car's cassette player. Asia's Heat of the Moment - are you kidding me?! They need to sell this mixtape as part of this show's marketing or at minimum get a playlist. When I'm less interested in the case of the week than the development of the characters, it's a good show. I just wish it wasn't on so late on Wednesdays.
  3. Totally brilliant seating arrangement. Rumer Willis, Demi from Bachelor in Paradise, and Demi Lovato. If this were $100,000 Pyramid, it would be great clues for "Things to do with Demi Moore." Overall I enjoyed the music, and so far no one really bugs me. Solid episode.
  4. I actually thought she was making a pointed reference to Hollywood Boulevard, as (IIRC) the question referred to being dressed up as a superhero there. She was so poised and mature, I figured she was referring to something I didn't know. Her answer about wanting a $10,000/week raise may have been more about privilege, though. 😀
  5. See, despite this, I could see it working if there was great, nuanced acting. That scene with the baby's first selfie could have been completely different if Delilah had a slightly evil smirk after learning about Katherine leaving. Instead we got a toned down version of the reaction Chandler had when Monica tried to seduce him with a serious head cold. Still, I hold out hope. A character named Delilah should have more layers.
  6. I really hope we learn on a later episode that Delilah has some dirt on every one of her friends, because there is no way people would be so forgiving and borderline worshipping in real life. (Sorry, Maggie, Delilah has been a *terrible* mother from the time you met her. Gary was a better parent in the past year.) Regina and Rome's child/no-child stalemate - reasonable, real-life story. Katherine's utter heartbreak and wanting to hide in a cave - completely relatable. Maggie's fear of a relapse - understandable (and subtly well-played) Finding out that you've been deceived into thinking that your friend was pregnant by her recently deceased husband rather than by your other friend with whom she had an affair (and is now unsurprisingly going through his own marital troubles) and NOT BATTING AN EYELASH is suspended reality. It has been (clearly) a long time since I've had such a dislike for a character. Writers, help us out here. Bring some sense into the Delilah character.
  7. Saw that too! With that girl who had never been kissed before. Loved seeing Chris Harrison cheer on Hannah. The 2 of them seemed to have good chemistry in the limited interactions we saw. He enjoyed her goofiness, and I think she probably needs a more mature, stabilizing presence than any of the guys (not named Tyler) could provide.
  8. I noticed during his proposal that he said something like, "Everything up until now has been about getting to this moment." I'm paraphrasing but the key point was that he never mentioned her. Cynical me is wondering if this was the last piece of his redemption arc. Women get fooled all the time into thinking they're the one who can change a guy. Don't fall in that trap, Katie.
  9. What a mess. I felt bad for him. He's just really not good at articulating and defending himself, and I do genuinely believe that he's just clueless. The show should be concerned about his emotional health. He looked like a wreck. He really shouldn't go on these shows.
  10. Did Katie just give Kristian a Bachelor Handshake?
  11. In my head he was still Dawson, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him as a full grown man. I still can't figure out who he looks like. Was also pleasantly surprised by Hannah B. In addition to being really good for Week 1, she looked like she was having fun. When they first called out the cast of Bachelor in Paradise, did they completely mess up the camera placement? They later called them out again and showed people who were actually on this season. It doesn't make sense that Christie Brinkley would have to fake an injury just to have her daughter on the show. Sailor could have been a draw just with the promise of having Christie in the audience, like Demi Moore and Bruce Willis were for Rumer Willis. No need for an elaborate ruse. Oh, DWTS, I'm glad you're back.
  12. As others have said, while not the best episode, it was fun and satisfying. I had a little shiver in my spine seeing the cast all together at the end. For all their issues and neuroses, I was rooting for them. The best parts of the show - in general - continued to be: The subtle callbacks to the original (Brenda and Brandon's chemistry - loved that they showed that scene in non-HD) The brief comic moments that only happen with a cast that's comfortable with each other (Steve's flinch when Brenda showed up at the Peach Pit and started wildly gesturing with her possum-stained hands.) Just the right mix of nostalgia with new stories so that old viewers are in on the joke without alienating new viewers. (Kind of like how Disney animated movies are for both kids and adults.) I would have liked this season to be 9 or 12 episodes long, to round out the arcs more. They were a lot of stories which ultimately had to be wrapped up in 6 episodes, making it feel rushed. (Of course, I understand the practicality of taking a gamble on even 6 episodes of a questionable concept. Plus, if they had to choose between having everyone have their own storyline or leaving someone out - which was going to be unlikely anyway with each of them having a producer title - I preferred seeing everyone.) Overall, very well done.
  13. She seemed like a great friend to the other girls and dare I say more mature than Chris. As much as I like Chris, I wanted Katie to run away. 9 times out of 10 when a guy says he's difficult without also indicating he's looking to change, he's giving himself an out. I had a cynical thought during the breakup that the over the top gushing over Tayshia was JPJ's plan all along to (a) win fans and (b) force Tayshia to break up with him at the end. He strikes me as just that calculating, beneath that surfer boy exterior. Or maybe he's really just that much of a free spirit. I have no recollection of him on Hannah's (?) season. Was he as non-committal? Something about the way he talks and inability to articulate his thoughts clearly makes me wonder if he has anxiety issues.
  14. I just counted 19 people on the show. 20 with Wells. Has there ever been that many people at the end, and especially people who haven't been coupled up? It's like they realized this year's storylines were lightweight so kept throwing people on the show in hopes of someone generating some real drama. From some angles, Connor is really good looking. Did Chase bulk up recently? I don't remember him being so huge in Jojo's season but he wasn't in beachwear most of the time. The women all cheer because the new girl leaves. Connor just happens to be hanging out at home without a shirt on. And the 2 of them are the real winners, relaxing in air conditioned paradise. Wells is fantastic and providing the only semblance of adult conversation in Paradise. Bahahaha - Chris B's chyron "Hoping This is It"
  15. OMG yes. Andy Samberg and Nick Jonas' love child. Separately, I haven't been paying attention the last few weeks. I thought Kristian was Hannah and was very confused. Who are all these people? Is this the largest cast ever?
  16. It was a complete surprise to me, too, and I LOVED it! Ray Pruit (1 t, season 6) - LOL. It's scenes like this where the show really shines because it requires the viewer to have some history with the characters and the alleged real life drama to get it. It's so over the top - Jamie Walters, in an obscure bar still singing his 90s hit in the middle of the day. Tori and Jennie's wardrobes have been so on point. I would never wear Tori's outfits, but they're so crazy and unique that they're fun to see (on someone else). And Jennie's been in some absolutely beautiful tops. This show has just been so fun. I don't know how much of it is scripted vs ad hoc, but they're all killing it. Wyatt: "Tori, you should come over afterwards, we're having a bbq and my friend is bringing over some craft brewed beer." Tori: "Ooh, I love crafting!"
  17. We all know Stagecoach is the real winner of this season. I'd never heard of it until now.
  18. I can't unsee it (though all Anne fans know Dylan is *no* Gilbert Blythe.) Kaitlyn looks like the lost Olsen sister.
  19. (non-sequitur) Dylan looks like Gilbert Blythe.
  20. I think the issue is that they're so invested in their closed Bachelor ecosystem even when not taping that they effectively have no outside, independent identities. And since most of them are fairly young, they don't have a reference point to life prior to Bachelor D-list fame. What made shows like The Real World (where people were thrown together) interesting was because the people (intentionally) had diverse backgrounds and interests. These folks are all into the same thing - instant fame.
  21. The familiarity between them (and us with them) makes it so much fun. I love that it's on Wednesday nights, and the only thing that could possibly be even better would be a Melrose Place show within a show on the same night. Am I the only one shipping Jennie and Jason? Others have said this already, but I'll echo. Ian looks fantastic. Haha, the Fox executives mentioning they were in middle school when they watched the show. I'm imagining how they came up with the storyline about Jason and his fertility issues. "So, let's have him get decked in the nads by someone he punched earlier ... " Were Brian and Shannen close? Favorite lines (I may not have it entirely correct but I chuckled) Ian: (about nepotism) Didn't you learn enough of a lesson being on your Dad's show? Tori: Still here
  22. He is The One - the Neo of the Bachelor Nation Matrix! Breaking free and seeing it for the contrived reality it is. Go Tyler! Here's hoping this is just a step towards something bigger. He seems like an actual good guy; he can do more than just be arm candy for a supermodel.
  23. For real. They must have a whole library of lizard videos in different colors and backdrops. JPJ is growing on me. He still kisses like a fish and has zero chemistry with anyone on the show but he's quirky and different and not unlikable. I don't get bored watching him. Kind of like Daniel the Canadian but not as crass at times. He's another one who really should stay away from these shows. It's like he sabotages himself and yet women still flock to him. I turned the channel away to watch Kodi Lee on AGT (who was amazing.) Did they end up having the rose ceremony?
  24. Yeah, BiP is supposed to be about 2 hours of brainless producer-initiated antics a week and then snarking here. This isn't entertaining. Surely someone can be called scallop fingers or a wild animal is waiting to have a conversation.
