  1. This. She is just starting to recover from the fallout of an affair with her husband's best friend, was shocked to learn her teenage daughter was on birth control, and thinks now is a good time to hook up with a guy she just met at a bar? I can't tell if they're intentionally writing her to show poor judgement or if they think this is sane behavior. Is it safe to be living in a room with exposed insulation? Strange Derek picked up on the Regina/Wendy thing but didn't notice Eve's blatant comment about being in the bathroom for 20 minutes or even why Rome and Regina showed up at their hotel room unexpectedly. Rome: "It's legal jargon. Jargon? I think it's jargon." Katherine could probably open up her own law firm just dealing with all the messes her friends seem to get themselves into. Well, if they pay her.
  2. Bahahahah - awesome. I'm hearing it in Elaine Benes' voice too. The show in 5 seconds: Rose ceremony, random pointless bickering, Victoria F fake sadness, Kelsey and Ashley I bond over crying (why do we still call her Ashley I when Ashley Onion has long departed Bachelor Nation), scarless Peter (who I believe only owns blue suits), Rachel (who looks fantastic), bloopers, and preview of Peter apologizing to a brunette.
  3. Loved Harrison going out of his way to find Bow and comfort her, casually handing her a Kleenex, giving her advice, and making fun of her dad just to keep things light. All the while he's trying (but not really) to sell the house. The character just gets a kick out of being obnoxious, and I love that they all see past it and ignore that part of him. The song towards the end of the show is probably my favorite part of every episode. It's always something amazing from the mid 80s that brings me back to my own 80s experience. "We Belong" was perfect. (And for some reason I didn't know Bryce was spelled with a y.) Love this show.
  4. That should have been a red flag right there. Not saying that every guy who gives up his jacket is Prince Charming, but he's supposed to be at his best in this point in the relationship. If he's not figuring it out now, he's never going to. (By contrast, Jared gave a shivering Kaitlyn his jacket during his goodbye conversation.) For the first time this season, I actually felt bad for her. If it was genuine, it gave insight into her thought process. Or maybe she just wanted attention. It was Caila, of the gorgeous hair. She seemed like a sweet girl, too.
  5. Wow, that was just awful. Before this episode, I gave Peter a pass because he was dorky but boyishly cute. He loves his mom. He's awkward around women. He likes roller coasters. Tonight, nope, nope, nope. Peter, if you are actually serious about someone (and it's clear how much he likes Madison), and you know how she feels about the Fantasy Suite, you shouldn't sleep with other people. It's not like feeling bad about not inviting your neighbors to your party or offering a piece of the office birthday cake to people nearby. It's not rude to not sleep with someone when you have strong feelings for someone else. Good for Madison for staying true to herself.
  6. Same. Jon understood Katherine in a way Eddie never could, so I do wonder if there was some kind of emotional infidelity, even if it was just a suspicion in Katherine's mind. Remember, she made it a point to return the drink set that she and Jon used to use at his office to Delilah. While I'm completely done with Eddie and Delilah, I want to hear more about the Jon and Katherine relationship.
  7. I just love the way they've written Harrison (and obviously how Gary Cole is playing him.) He says and does completely obnoxious things, but then when it counts, he knows what is important, like last week, when he sat Santamonica down and told her it wasn't cool to laugh at her brother in public. He dotes on the kids and Alicia. Every character on the show has a good heart (even DeeDee's greediness can be explained as a byproduct of her childhood), and it's just nice to watch a show where people aren't jerks. MPG continues to rock it, and his scenes with the kids are always great. I really enjoy seeing him all grown up with tv kids about the age he was when he started on SBTB.
  8. Thank you for naming him. That dark hair. The Irish lilt. I did not mind him, Grey, and Hoffman all in one episode. Agree. It showed growth on Dex's part, as she's been known to show poor judgement in this arena in the past. And whoever is in charge of music continues to knock it out of the park with a string instrumental version of "I Melt With You."
  9. Loved it! The song they choose at the end of the episode is always awesome, but this one was especially poignant. Also enjoying Harrison and Santamonica's relationship. The two of them are the only ones who remotely get each other in their hippie, touchy feely family.
  10. So we're just going to pretend that commercial during the Oscars didn't happen, right? Cool.
  11. OK, while Delilah wasn't entire despicable this episode, on what planet is she the best mom anyone's ever known? Do they not realize the trauma she's inflicted on 2 children because she chose to have an affair with their dad's best friend, had a baby with him, and insisted on keeping the information from them for a year? Now maybe this could be fine if Delilah were in a vacuum with Joan Crawford, but have we not met Katherine, who gave up her law firm partnership to spend more time with her family, which now includes a child her husband fathered while having an affair? Poor Gary, and great episode for James Roday. The hurt, disappointment, and resignation was clear in his eyes when his mom flaked out on dinner. Powerful scene when he went to see Maggie, too, to take partial ownership for what broke them up. Good on Maggie for not opening the door (literally and figuratively) to Eric. We still don't know who he was talking to on the phone in an earlier episode about not telling Maggie his secret. Bizarre storyline. I'm not sure it's entirely over. Overall, a good episode. Next week looks interesting as we get to see more of Sophie's acting out.
  12. (small voice) I'm only up to the Victoria P sendoff but so far I don't despise Peter this episode. The fluent Spanish is (dare I say) attractive, and at least he had the spine to send someone away.
  13. I also think part of the conversation was taken from the lyrics for "Shallow."
  14. This exactly. And in using the power of no, he establishes that he is capable of discerning what is right for him. (For all of Colton's issues, the guy knew exactly what he wanted.) I wonder what was in it for Hannah B to be dragged back to make him look desirable, outside of being under contract.
  15. I hadn't realized an entire generation of people said that (thank you - I genuinely didn't know), but the captions say, "Go, P!"
  16. I did a second take too, but I thought it was "Go, P!"
  17. Excited to have this show back! First, I love Katherine's clothes. The blouse she wore in the first half of the show was gorgeous. I didn't like her dress as much but it suited her very well. Poor Sophie. She needs a healthy outlet for her anger, and she's not going to get it in this insulated little group of friends. Is Gary really all that different from before, outside of ranting at cars at crosswalks? I thought the friends were all used to his promiscuity before Maggie showed up. There was a scene where Delilah put her hands on Regina's shoulders, and I thought Regina was going to pull them off and tell her to stop touching her. So, I haven't been 12 in a while. Is Grease really an appropriate middle school play?
  18. I missed a few episodes. What was the backstory with their parents leaving them? Cheryl Hines called a truce after Dex went to that SOB (lol) agency and complained about the working conditions and harassment at the Club. I can see why they wanted a lighter subplot to go along with Ansel's story and the Grey/Hoffman arc, but it just felt silly and contrived. Did she really need Dex to figure out that the guys were all stealing some cash? Was that Mimi from the Drew Carey show at the SOB agency?
  19. I don't disagree. I wonder if its always been like this, though, and it's just me who's matured and/or become more cynical. I highly doubt Andrew Firestone had issues meeting women, but I bought into his journey and did not want him choosing Kirstin or whatever her name was with the bf back home.
  20. I've started playing a game to figure out who these women look like. So far I've got Kelsey as Elaine Irwin and Alayah as the girl in the #chewiedog commercial that played on loop before Star Wars came out in December.
  21. Me (whatever number we're on.) I once tried explaining to someone why that commercial was funny. You either get it or you don't. I know it couldn't have happened, but I sure wish someone would have said, "another round?" Somewhat surprised at how much of a runaway this was. (Given the matchup, I wouldn't have been shocked if it went 6 or even the full 7 games.) Curious if James (and Brad) did much worse than their respective runs or if Ken is just that much better than them. Was Brad imitating Sean Connery in calling out that Trebek category, a la SNL? If so, that. is. awesome. Alex Trebek is a treasure. His gentle reminders when one of the contestants is running out of time in a DD, his quips (something about where this game has gone in response to James' comment about Brad's score), and unflappable demeanor are way more difficult to master than he makes it look. (It was only the past few weeks watching Vanna on WoF that I realized how easy Pat Sajak made it look - and no disrespect to Vanna at all for stepping in with nearly no notice.)
  22. I fell asleep about 30 minutes before the end of the show. Did anything even slightly amusing happen? The only 2 things I remember from the first 90 minutes was Hannah B and the champagne spraying in Kelsey's face. (And as pointless as Hannah's appearance was, I could discern some kind of faux storyline. The rest was just a blur of women complaining.) They need to do something to this show to bring back the show. This level of drama probably happens multiple times a day in any high school or college.
  23. I also liked James' follow up to Ken's comment - something about also never winning against Brad. I don't remember the exact phrasing, but it was gracious and self-deprecating. I had only been a casual watcher until James' run last year. Now I DVR every episode. I'm loving the pace and skill - like watching athletes at the top of their sport competing against each other. It's a joy to watch, especially since the 3 of them seem to have genuine respect for one another. When you guys mention playing along at home, how do you keep track?
  24. This show continues to knock it out of the park. It captures that day so well yet so sweetly. Deedee and Harrison were gold. Paul trying to cheer up his kids. (MPG continues to get easier on the eyes for me in this role.) Rainbow not plugging in headphones to the boom box. "I saw a raccoon give birth." Time After Time. More than any other episode, I was back in the 80s for just 30 minutes. It was blissful. Did we ever find out what was on that mixtape?
  25. The whole thing with Hannah doesn't make sense. This was filmed during DWTS, and she was getting tons of national exposure and attention. Why go back to Peter? She could have easily had her cryfest on DWTS with Alan and have it work in her favor for voting. So, bear with me here. (Yes, thinking about this is my way of relaxing after work.) I've always thought the 4 times thing was handled strangely ostentatiously, from Hannah's brazen declaration at AFTR (or was it MTA) to his parents' cheering. And even after the bizarre sex storytelling, Peter made the slightly odd comment of "that's how I remember it, too." It's almost like she's his wingwoman, giving him street cred. I don't believe she wants him at all. Like a lot of women her age, she likes unattainable personality-challenged man-boys. Peter is perfectly easy on the eyes but way too normal. I wonder if this was simply all a ploy to bump up Peter's desirability and, of course, ratings.
