  1. 'The Bold Type' Renewed for Season 4 on Freeform With New Showrunner https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/bold-type-renewed-season-4-freeform-1210680
  2. WYNONNA EARP: EMILY ANDRAS TALKS “WHEN YOU CALL MY NAME” Exclusive: Wynonna Earp Star Explains Their Sudden (but Totally Heroic) Death Interviews with Emily Andras and Shamier Anderson
  3. "Hollywood is calling and has been for a couple years now. We’re all very open behind the scenes and Shamier had indicated that as grateful as he was to Wynonna, he was ready to move on. We felt like he gave us an extra year to tell more of Dolls’ story and we felt like this was the best course of action to make everyone happy." According to this interview, it was Shamier Anderson's decision to leave, and he got to choose how Dolls exited... Was Dolls underdeveloped? Sure, but he also isn't the main character. Given more time, we'd probably have gotten more back story/focus on Dolls. But at the end of the day, the show had limited options if the actor wanted to leave. Blaming the writers/creator for this is reaching. They didn't thoughtlessly kill off a POC character for views or for no reason. I understand the frustration, there's certainly a depressing trend for both POC and LGBT characters. However, if Dolls had to exit, a heroic death is exactly how he should have gone. (And honestly, this is a sci-fi show and Dolls is a dragon; I'm sure if they wanted to bring him back at some point they could). Not the strongest episode, but definitely memorable.
  4. Wynonna Earp Renewed for Season 4 at Syfy https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/wynonna-earp-renewed-season-4-at-syfy-1128974
  5. I love Mona, but Ali would ruin this for me too. I have absolutely no interest in watching more of mild-mannered high school teacher Ali. They should have kept her as bad-ass sociopathic Ali. I'd watch that Ali with Mona in a heartbeat. Edit: has there been any mention of Emily or the twins? Are they included in this spin-off?
  6. Poor Sarah Drew is out of work again Sarah Drew — who learned earlier this spring that this season of Grey’s Anatomy would be her last — will not be starring in a new CBS drama, either. Shortly after word circulated of her availability, CBS cast her in a reboot of Cagney & Lacey. She was going to play Cagney opposite Michelle Hurd’s Lacey. But not for long, unfortunately. EW learned today that CBS passed on the pilot and went with a reboot of Magnum P.I. instead.
  7. Hope all the fan interest and outrage leads to another network picking up this great show. Of all the memes floating around, I think this is my favorite. Source: http://chelseperetti.tumblr.com/post/173778947554/saveb99
  8. Not a great announcement on International Women's Day, that's for sure. Feels like a bit of kick in the teeth, especially with the "creative" reasoning. If you have writing talent, any character can be interesting and get a decent story, even on an ensemble show. Firing two of your most popular, loyal actresses after 9 & 10 years while admitting you're in a creative drought is not a good look. Especially with all the feminist bragging they did after Ellen published her pay raise. I'm guessing we can expect a dramatic death during a random epic disaster, since that seems to be Grey's fallback. Both actresses and characters deserve far better. Arizona's their only series regular LGBT character. If they kill off April (and they most likely will), that will also be pretty infuriating. Sarah Drew devoted a lot of time this year to directing their lame interns web-series and they've spent what will now be her final season dragging down her character, with no time for a real redemption. They could have thrown darts and hit a half-dozen (at least) less popular, more disposable characters (are we ever going to be rid of Owen??). I'm probably gonna drop this show, which is a shame after so many years. I mean what do we have to look forward to? Jaggie? Jolex? Owen?? No thanks. Looking back, not a single relationship I've liked/ invested in has survived (Derek/Meredith, Callie/Arizona, Mark/Lexie, Jackson/April, hell even Maggie/Deluca). I don't mind most of the characters but after so long I feel like I'm only watching to see how each character I care about ends up (and being consistently disappointed/bitter with the results as they leave). I really wish they'd just announce the end of this series rather than have it limp along creatively as all the interesting characters leave. But it's still a ratings hit so I'm guessing at least a few more seasons.
  9. I'd think that that would have been explained to her when she started work there, although admittedly I'd never heard of it being a detective's responsibility to order medical examiner toxicology reports. Where I live (FL) that's completely the ME's responsibility, although the detective may have input if there are specific drugs that should be looked for. A general tox screen is run on most, if not all ME cases that require an autopsy, especially in a homicide. It seems odd to me that in a homicide case nothing would have been run without the detective specifically ordering it. I'd think the ME would have needed toxicology answers in order to write a detailed autopsy report. Definitely not excusing other aspects that are problematic though, her stubbornness, refusal to admit mistakes and tendency to jump to conclusions is very dangerous for a cop, especially a homicide detective.
  10. Grey's Anatomy's season just got a little longer ABC ordered two more episodes of Grey’s Anatomy Monday, bringing the total order to 24 episodes this season.
  11. Grey's Anatomy: Spoiler Not Expected to Return for Season 14 There will be one less familiar face making rounds on Grey’s Anatomy this fall: TVLine has learned exclusively that Tessa Ferrer — whose return last season as fired doc Leah Murphy was met with considerable fanfare — is not expected back for the ABC drama’s upcoming 14th season. Not shocking in the slightest, she was in like 6 episodes last season? What a waste for Tessa. At least she'll be replaced with 3 underutilized interns.
  12. Grey's Anatomy spoiler! Look who else is leaving Grey Sloan EW has confirmed that Marika Dominczyk, who recurred as Eliza Minnick, will not be returning for season 14 of Grey’s Anatomy.
  13. There's a lot of these behind the scenes videos on Youtube. I thought this one was interesting (2x06) because they talk about incorporating Melanie Scrofano's pregnancy into the show.
  14. I saw a small clip of it and at first didn't see what the big deal was either. The cast was joking about something pretty obvious: of course Kara/Lena is not going to happen. However, after reading a few posts on Tumblr, I can see why some fans are hurt. It's not really about them saying Supercorp is never happening, it's the way they did it. Having the entire cast singing (minus Chyler Leigh/Floriana Lima who weren't at SDCC), with Jeremy screaming into the camera that Kara and Lena are never going to be more than friends, while the rest laughed, danced and sang along. There was no need to mock a group of your show's fans. It's a fictional show with fictional characters, let your real-life fans ship who they want. Making fun of them is not going to gain you anything positive, especially LGBT fans who already feel like the butt of jokes too often. That being said, of course some fans are taking it too far. Talking about boycotting the show, sending hate to the cast, etc. The show delivered on the one LGBT ship they said was coming. Hopefully that doesn't get too lost just because some of the cast acted like insensitive asses.
  15. It also appears she's wearing a ring. So I guess she says yes to Alex's proposal. Edit - found this photo as well. Alex and Maggie both wearing rings.
  16. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14 to Feature a New Love Triangle “Teddy’s return in Seattle could further complicate the marriage of Owen and Amelia. Dr. Altman previously had feelings for Owen. Will Owen finally put his relationship with Amelia back on track or will he rekindle an old flame with Teddy?” Please show, please do not waste Kim Raver's return on Owen. We've seen it all before and it was tedious the first go-around with Owen/Cristina/Teddy.
  17. I felt that Paige was one of the few true-to-life characters on PLL. She reacted to things as a normal teenager would, but was also allowed to grow up and become more reasonable and level-headed. As far as the "drowning," (which was confirmed by the cast and writers as a prank to scare Emily rather than Paige actually trying to harm her), Paige apologized on-screen immediately after it happened and we saw Emily forgive her. That should have been the end of it but instead Paige (and unfortunately Lindsay Shaw, the actress who played her) was continually criticized over the years. Without intense shipper pressure and the Alison/Emily/Emily's eggs/rape storyline, Paige/Emily would have been the more realistic endgame. The show demonstrated over and over again that Paige and Emily loved each other and were good together. If however, instead of Emily/Alison's pregnancy thrown together in the last few episodes, we actually got to see Emily struggle between her first love and her most significant relationship, that could have been great too.
  18. Was that spin-off scene supposed to be interesting? Who would care enough to watch that?? They should have just ended it with crazy Mona. At least we're all free now, right guys? I should have given up on this show after Charlotte/Charles. Even if I didn't think it was possible, it really did only go downhill from there. The last few seasons have been a disappointing waste of time.
  19. God, going the evil twin route is so lazy and unsatisfying. And adding in the cliched British accent? This finale is the worst. Nothing makes sense, no real believable motive. And yet I'm not surprised at all. The only decent A reveal was MonA, which followed the books. Everything "original" and "shocking" this show has done the past few years has been so lame and predictable. I think what's most disappointing is the wasted potential. After 7 years at least have the guts to make it one of the *actual* liars (or Ezra). The show's over, who cares if some shippers revolt? Write a decent story for God's sake.
  20. The Real O'Neals Cancelled at ABC http://tvline.com/2017/05/11/the-real-oneals-cancelled-abc-no-season-3/
  21. As meh as that crossover was, I am thankful I watched if only to be introduced to Jeremy Jordan's (Winn) singing voice. I wasn't familiar with him prior to Supergirl (i.e. the lead in Broadway's Newsies) but looking him up on Youtube, wow is he talented.
  22. June Squibb and Hal Holbrook to Guest Star on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ “Grey’s Anatomy” has tapped June Squibb and Hal Holbrook as guest stars, Variety has learned exclusively. The duo will appear in the episode on Mar. 23, playing Elsie Clatch and Lewis Clatch, a married couple who visit Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. No other details on their storyline have been revealed. Additionally, the Mar. 23 episode will also welcome back guest star LaTanya Richardson Jackson, who will reprise her role as Maggie’s (Kelly McCreary) mother, Diane Pierce.
