  1. The bolded part was the worst. I get being a homebody; I'm like that, too. But I don't think I'm morally superior to people who are out and about. Then again, I have gone out occasionally--sometimes, even to a friend's party. That's the kind of person I am.🙄 I hope Chelsea watches the show and reflects on how her insecurity sabotages her relationships.
  2. Well, at least Kyle answered questions about zzzzz . . . zzzzz . . . zzzzz
  3. Both Kyle and Dorit are exhausting in different ways. Most of Kyle's conversations are like this: Her tactic seems to be responding to comments without addressing them. Sutton says Kyle insinuated that Sutton had a drinking problem, and Kyle hits back with, "I never said those words!" Ugh. I guess Sutton is a better woman than I am, because I would have given up talking to Kyle a long time ago. Dorit in her Our Lady of Perpetual Suffering garb loves to explain unnecessarily. She just had to tell us that the Pretty Woman dinner was mirroring the movie. And that words matter. Erika's special just seems only slight more unnecessary than her Vegas residency. Do that many people really like her? She met with the victims so that they could understand her, not so that she could understand them. And that tells us everything about how Erika sees things. Oh, look Doctor 8.4999 is still here. Good for her.
  4. Thanks. I was trying to remember the details, but I also thought about that when Austin was caught hanging out with a producer. I get why Pia finds Brennan irritating, but as an "expert," she should have found better ways of handling her frustration. On the other hand, Brennan sounds like a particularly passive-aggressive AI: "Forgive me for trying to protect you." 🙄🙄🙄
  5. I think that Tracy Morgan is one of those people whose emotions are very close to the surface, and I'm sure the accident also took an emotional toll on him. I can imagine that knowing more about his ancestry helps to fill in some of the blanks in his life. I enjoyed Anthony Ramos. I cracked up at his impression of his dad selling Raid to bugs. His segment made me want to learn more about the indigenous Canary Islanders.
  6. At the very least, he needs to capitalize on his reputation; he can own and run a chain of laundromats!
  7. Just got caught up, and I'm semi-ashamed that the only reason I recognized Josh Segarra is from the Dolly Parton Christmas movie on Netflix. As much as I love Mr. Johnson, I hope they keep his wackiness in check. Otherwise, the humor will get stale. Loved the kid gossiping with Jalen Hurts about the failed proposal!
  8. I actually booed. There's so much potential in the new business storyline and this is what they come up with? Marty already had the broken engagement; why go all soap opera on him?
  9. Yeah, but it's very different when a third party is making the choice for you. Despite the "experts" patting themselves on the back and absolving themselves of any blame for Michael's non-wedding, they (or the producers) can't take that sort of risk on someone else's behalf. Religion, kids, intimacy needs, and financial mindset are some of the deal-breaking areas that should factor into a MAFS match. Mismatches in these areas makes them look incompetent. A few seasons ago, one of the grooms lied about his job as a principal and couldn't answer questions about where he worked or when his contract started. The experts can't know everything, but this was fundamental information that people should know if they're going to marry someone. This show was more enjoyable when there was a reasonable chance to see at least one successful pairing. In the most recent seasons, even getting to the monthiversary seems like a slow and painful drag.
  10. Not in Real Housewives land. "Let's meet just to clear the air so we can move on" is another dangerous sentence. SLC has become my favorite Housewives series now that Potomac is mostly about off-camera backstage drama. I'm just afraid it's going to turn into The Monica Show.
  11. It's been a long time since we've gotten to episode 4 of the season and I don't actively hate anyone yet. I'm currently rooting for Becca/Austin and Lauren/Orion, but that might be because the show is giving them a lot of airtime and positive edits.
  12. Not gonna lie, the only reason I wanted the Dixons to get married was because I wanted Michael to be wrong.
  13. To use a line from Project Runway, I question her taste level. Then again, at least Sutton doesn't look boring or--like Dorit--a billboard.
  14. Normally, I hate when the Husbands go for the spotlight (looking at you, Jersey), but I like Pavit, and so far, it seems as if Jessel does, too. I hope they escape the Real Housewives Marriage Curse. I am curious to see how this cast shows up for Season 2. We've seen so many Housewives try to take control of their second season with makeovers, redemption arcs, planned confrontations, etc. Maybe these women will gel as a cast next season.
  15. For me, it's the Wine for Cats. I just . . . Anyway, Mark isn't even consistent in his appreciation for sucking up. There have been times when you can tell he hates it. Unfortunately, Dating Lady was able to flatter him in a way he liked. I don't get how her "business" is investible, either, but I have to admit I didn't really pay attention. The glove band is such a basic idea that I think the kid did come up with it. I wonder at the parents for wanting to take it to Shark Tank. I know they want to encourage their kid, but they can do that without resorting to commercialization.
  16. Was this the best take of Mary and her son discussing his marriage? The conversation seemed staged, and Mary was relatively calm learning that her son and his wife, who both live with her, have been married for a year and didn't tell her. The son's sheepish tee-heeing when Mary asked him outright would have irritated me so much.
  17. I get the feeling that if Jessel said yes, they'd act as if she was lying or accuse her of trying to get attention. As @ZettaK said . . . I guess Brynn has far more charisma in person than she does through a screen. Perhaps that's the explanation for people like Jenna and Andy finding her fun to be around instead of embarrassing.
  18. This love for rather basic fast or restaurant food might be a Housewives thing. I remember one of the other casts--maybe OC or Beverly Hills?--making a huge deal of eating chicken parmesan like it was some exotic dish. Mary's bitter non-participation is probably because her church closed down. Her disdain for the others is funny, but she needs to do more to earn her participation trophy.
  19. I appreciate the reboot; these women aren't perfect, but the old lineup was so stale. I thought the WAP conversation was pretty entertaining. Erin's appalled reaction was predictable but funny ("Who wants a wet ass?"). I was far less entertained by the demands that Jenna "open up" that were only appeased when she started to cry. You can't force intimacy, especially with people who are generally private. Making Jenna express her hurt in front of the group isn't going to encourage her to be more forthcoming with her feelings. And turning all group events into unofficial therapy isn't the move for a Real Housewives episode. I'm hoping that something was cut out in the editing, otherwise they all really seemed like complete assholes for criticizing Jessel's story. Jessel isn't very likeable (seriously? Being a snob about the kind of bag Sai stores her mother's ashes in?), but if the group is going on about "opening up," and she tries to do so, now they're reviewing her performance because it wasn't interesting or humble enough?
  20. She's a special kind of crazy, so I get the fascination. And I would semi-forgive Andy for forcing my DVR to record Watch What Happens if it featured the SLC Housewives reading Mary's text messages aloud. That said, Mary's shtick is going to get old real quick if she's got nothing else to bring to the table. Meredith treats grudges like beloved houseplants; she spends a lot of time and effort nurturing them and seems to get a lot of satisfaction when they grow.
  21. Just catching up with the latest season. Nicole doesn't have redeeming qualities that are fun to watch. At least Christine was funny sometimes and had fabulous/insane fashion. Chrishell crossed a line with the drug accusation, but the drug test and lawyering up was so . . . 🙄. I get wanting to protect your reputation, especially because this show should be is about your job, but there are better ways to shut down that kind of talk. Chelsea needs to mind her own business, but I found myself agreeing with her (unnecessary, obnoxious, and frequently-stated) opinions. I don't get why anyone would want to have a child with Nick Cannon, nor do I think Mary has what it takes to manage these women. I still don't understand Brett's function at the company. Why wouldn't he be the one in charge when Jason goes globetrotting? Isn't this company his, too?
  22. Maybe disingenuous "both sides"ing? Tell me you can't hear her saying something like "A lot of people come down on the Big Bad Wolf, but so many of us enjoy eating pork."
  23. Marlo definitely is more appealing in small doses; she doesn't add much as a full-time Housewife. I somewhat get how she and her date bonded over having criminal pasts; I can see that being a date-ender, so there's a little relief that this is something they have in common. I thought it was a little mean of Kandi to make fun of Sheree, knowing how insecure she must feel about her "business," but then Sheree started talking. Sheree clearly has no idea what she's doing; she went from having a fashion show with no fashions to a fashion website with no ability to get said fashions. Sheree always goes into word salad mode when asked basic questions about her business that she doesn't know the answer to--remember "Joggers. Spring, Summer, or September"? You don't have to be a tycoon to know whether or not your business is making a profit.
