  1. I wouldn’t mind watching Carly repeatedly and unsuccessfully trying to seduce Jason, like Wile E. Coyote getting crushed by an anvil every time. Jason: -walks in on Carly in a negligee- Carly: Oh, Jason, I forgot to lock the door, teehee! Jason: -blinks, silently hands her her robe, walks out- Carly: Dammit! Then Joss pops out from the closet: We’ll get him next time, Mom!
  2. My guess is Hayden. She has plenty of reason to want revenge on Nikolas, and with the show revisiting Nik’s attempt to have her killed in the Shawn storyline, plus Liz and Finn heading for romance, it’s a perfect time to bring her back.
  3. Ahh, but that’s the beauty of it. Once Our Great Lovers are finally reunited after all their trials, the marriage to Chase can be revealed to be invalid. “I’ve only ever truly been married to you, Michael,” Willow will whisper, wiping a tear from her eye as they joyfully embrace. True love conquers all! And then we’ll all barf, because damn, that mayonnaise is rancid.
  4. So how long before Carly suggests that she and Jason get married? Just to present a united front to the Five Families, of course. Strictly business. Not something she’s been dreaming of for the past thirty years or so, no siree. Not that that solution makes a whole lot of sense, either, but none of this mob stuff makes any sense. And thanks, show, for punting away the one vaguely interesting possibility here- Mob Queen Carly unwilling to give up control of the business to anyone, not Jason, and not Sonny when he finally returns. And I hope they don’t ever bring up the hospital escape again, because it just reminds me that Carly, Jason, and Brick should all be in jail for that - or at least Brick and Jason, who were caught on video.
  5. No lie, I was going to mention that but couldn’t think of how to phrase Jason’s slo-mo un-deadening. Defrosting? Nixon Fails has just completely stranded Nina as a character. No one in PC misses her - except Jax, stupidly, and even he only suddenly remembered her two episodes ago. When Peter listed Nina as someone Valentin cares about, I wanted his response to be like, “Who?” She’s the deadest of weights- when Sonny’s memory returns she’s got to be out of here, right? Jax can go, too. Sorry, dude. You’re shouting into the void about your she-beast of an ex-wife’s power grab and your daughter’s been fully assimilated into the Borg borg. Now you’re blackmailing a man-baby for a woman who dumped your ass ages ago; you’re done.
  6. I finally found a playlist containing the original “Faison poisons Tiffany” storyline Here. There are a lot of missing/removed clips but the meat of the storyline is still there. The poisoning storyline starts about halfway down the page with this clip. Edit: Oops! It’s this one. The first one was just Faison threatening to deal with Sean and Tracy trying to get Sean to back off Paul Hornsby, who is a major player in this storyline. Here’s where things really begin.
  7. No it's the one Faison gave Tiffany, hence the need to go through the papers that Sean had. Peter had it modified. But it's ridiculous that no one asked Obrecht who was probably involved in creating the original toxin in the first place and has no love for Peter. I don't. Peter gave Chase a toxin, not a virus, so that there is no point in creating an mRNA package for it because it wouldn't be reproducible. And a variant would not apply because again, not a virus. It feels like they read someone talking about the two mRNA Covid vaccines and thought that they would steal the idea. I finally managed to hunt down some clips from the original Faison, Sean and Tiffany storyline. You’re right, @statsgirl, that the toxin poisoning Chase is a modified (by Peter’s goons) version of what Faison used to poison Tiffany. Confusingly, back then they continually referred to the Tiffany’s illness being caused by a “virus”, but this time around it’s always been referred to as a toxin, which makes more sense. So the mRNA thing should not apply in this case but clearly as you said they just wanted to borrow from COVID tech. And to add to the “why haven’t these people been consulted in this storyline list”: Tony Jones was the one who developed both a copy of the antidote (it was a pill back then) and eventually came up with a cure, so Finn should have sought out his papers from Bobbie or Lucas (who?). The suggestion was made that Tony write a scientific paper about his work at the end of the storyline - it wouldn’t be an exact solution, but it would definitely have been a starting point for Finn to work on a cure for this version. It’s incredibly stupid that Tony wasn’t ever mentioned to my knowledge - even a line that they searched his papers and (implausibly) found nothing. Just another example of the show paying lip service to the past without actually mining it for deeper meaning. Also it seems like Robin, who cured Jerry’s polonium poisoning, could have easily been drafted into working on this offscreen- it’s not like it would be suspicious for Anna to be in frequent contact with her. But, missed opportunities and junky science aside, as has also been said, whatever brings this storyline to an end. Edited to add I posted a link to a playlist containing the storyline and the first clip in the History thread if anyone’s interested. 😀
  8. My wacky theory about Austin is this: He worked at the Facility Jax Found while Michael was a patient there. Bonus hackery points if he developed a crush on Carly, the braveandstrong mother who spent oh-so-many hours at her comatose son’s bedside. <eyeroll> I mean, that explanation is not great, but it’s better than Austin being yet another Corinthos or a member of some other mob family. (Though unless the hippie act is a feint, he’s probably not the ruling boss himself and it’s his family members who are the real criminals.) But seriously, we just (hopefully) jettisoned our last evuhl mob boss today! Please, show, can we have a minute before the next mafia rival steps up?
  9. Seriously, that’s a really good idea. Probably too good, unfortunately. I want Peter dead, but I do NOT want a Who Killed Peter storyline- that would be just another way for Peter to continue to eat the show even after his death. No thanks. But like everyone else has said, I doubt he’s truly gone yet. Maybe comatose - that might be a nice break - for WR, too; he can take a break from all the mustache-twirling and have a nap. And then in a few months he can wake up with amnesia and we’ll all be on the very edge of our seats wondering if he’s faking it or not as the show weighs whether or not to try to redeem him, because we haven’t seen that plot device used… this year. Shit, that went off the rails quickly. It alarms me how easily I can come up with bad ideas. So if Gladys’s recantation and accusation of Peter actually holds up, do you think the PCPD will drop all charges against Jason even though they still have him dead-to-rights on the hospital escape? Probably, right - it’s Jason. And the PCPD.
  10. Jason/Britt really is moving at warp speed, especially for a Jason relationship. He’s never been much of a casual sex guy - maaaybe he boned Carly pretty fast back in the day? But otherwise all of his other major relationships I can think of came after a slow burn with lots of buildup. I don’t know what that means for Jason/Britt in the future, if they’re really planning to go there long-term or if they’re still thinking of killing Britt off, or what. I’m not sure the show knows yet, either. I’m not hating them now, but it’s only a matter of time before Britt loses all spine and interesting characteristics to go full mob-apologist, and then I’ll be out. Jasam feels really “done” to me as a pairing, both from a storyline standpoint and because the actors are obviously over it, but I feel like as long as they’re on the show and Burton doesn’t absolutely refuse to play ball, GH will always keep Jasam as a default pairing to return to if other options don’t work out. Lord knows this show’s not above beating a dead horse, and I think they still have a decent fanbase if not as fervent as in the past. At the moment Sam’s certainly not being written like she’s getting over Jason; it’s more like she’ll half-heartedly get involved with Dante if she must (I.e. the script demands it) but she’ll always be keeping one eye on her phone waiting for Jason to call. I don’t know which explanation is worse: that Dante/Sam sucks so hard because the writers don’t intend it to be more than a placeholder between Lante and Jasam reunions so they’re not even trying, or they actually are trying and they’re just that garbage at their jobs. At least KM can be grateful that since she’s no longer Jason’s love interest, she isn’t automatically first in line to be sexually menaced by the current town villain. Sasha apparently “wins” that prize this round. Man, how naive of me to think Cyrus could actually be a male villain who wasn’t interested in preying on women; it’s GH, of course he is - the writers just forgot about it until now.
  11. I certainly don’t think that’s what Carly was implying - she seemed to be suggesting Sasha just make up a dude. There’s no way she’d approve of precious Michael putting himself in danger for Brando’s sake - hell, I think Carly would blow that lie up herself and sell Brando out in a heartbeat if Sasha dared to try it. Really, the best play here if she’s not telling Brando (besides ending the pregnancy, which is apparently not an option Sasha is even considering) is to invent a guy, say he was from out of town, she didn’t even know him, they had a ONS and now he’s gone and she has no way of contacting him. Boom, done. But I’m sure the show has something much stupider in mind. (Please not Michael, please, please.)
  12. I wish Sasha had confided in Willow today. Didn’t she support Willow when she had her brief pregnancy scare a while ago? I know the Michael of it all makes it a little weird (but not as weird as confiding in Michael’s MOM, ugh), but it would make some sense and give Willow something to do that’s not sitting guiltily at Chase’s bedside or hanging out with Michael and the kid. He was really good there. And yet, Cyrus gets this information and uses it to…set up a half-assed loyalty test for a minion he already knows isn’t loyal, since he had to blackmail him into working for him in the first place? Come on, dude. Quit fucking around and go firebomb Casa Corinthos or something. Valentin’s bidet line was the highlight of the show for me today. I also dug the line about how he knows BL’s independent, and he’s kinda into it. I’m kind of getting into the two of them; too bad it’s all going to come crashing down.
  13. Today made me optimistic that at least there don’t seem to be any current plans to attempt an eleventh-hour redemption arc with Peter; he’s still murdering innocent people, and he’s being sloppier than ever about it. Britt mentioning her previous time on the run with Faison at five-star hotels (as OOC as that seemed; I feel pretty sure Faison would know his survivalist shit) made me wish I could watch Faison terrorize hotel staff for like forgetting to leave chocolates on his pillow rather than Jason and Britt googly schmoopy blah in a barn. Yes, I noticed the deliberate opening shot of sleeping Britt and Jason’s gun, episode director. No, I was not impressed. Singing on soaps is my kryptonite, so I had to ff that part, but I love that Ned made the baby a mixtape. All the Ned/Brook Lynn stuff was good today.
  14. Seriously. Joss: "I'm selfish!" Carly: "No, you're not! But I am!" Joss: "That's not true--you're amazing!" Sad smiles to each other. And...scene. Carly: “But you know who’s the most amazing of all?” -in unison-: “JASON.”
  15. They could do something interesting here if they really commit to the long term. A power-mad Carly refusing to cede control when Sonny eventually returns. (I see that @perkie1968 and I are on the same wavelength on that part.) There is definite potential there. What if when Sonny returns Carly actually holds him responsible for his months of complete disinterest in finding out who he really was and is furious at him? “You effectively abandoned your life and your family; you don’t get to just waltz back in and take over like nothing happened. I picked up the pieces when you died, I’ve been running the business and protecting Port Charles (eyeroll, I know). I don’t need you, the business doesn’t need you, and this town doesn’t need you.” Of course, Sonny won’t take that well at all, and that starts the power struggle, with Jason, of course, torn between Sonny and Carly. Aaand I just drafted a storyline starring the mob and my most hated characters. Oy.
  16. Cam: Jason didn’t kill Franco. Joss: Finally! Me: BITCH! It was all downhill from there for me today. Notice how Joss had no interest in asking about who actually killed Franco, Cam’s beloved stepdad; all that mattered to her was than Cam had seen the truth about Jason and raking him over the coals for even considering hurting him. She’s the worst. Things I actually enjoyed about today: Robert pronouncing it “Dan-te” and Brook Lynn mussing Maxie’s hair to give her bedhead. Things I enjoyed in a laughing-through-my-tears kind of way: Jax’s line about how everything comes back to Sonny, Sonny ruins everything, and it’s never going to stop. Things I hated: Just about everything else.
  17. How would she know without the bullet? They have the bullet. Jason’s wound was a through-and-through shot and it was still in the garage. Cam picked up the dead minion’s gun, which was not the gun that fired the bullet that hit Jason, and held it up but apparently did not fire it (there was no gunshot residue on his hands). Meanwhile there was a second, as yet unidentified shooter behind Cam on the grassy knoll who fired the non-fatal shot.
  18. I thought for sure it was going to turn out to be a returning character to GH, like Jerry Jax Jerry’s always a good choice when the writers need a villain and have thrown up their hands on whodunit. Other suspects: who else was at the hospital? Sasha - could have ordered by Cyrus to shoot Jason because…reasons, and that’s why she was acting so weird about her “doctor’s appointment”. I know, that’s stupid and doesn’t make any sense, so it’s perfect. Brando, who seems to have graduated from unwilling chauffeur to Cyrus’s no. 1 goon. Orrr it could be I realize I’m going full crackpot here. We gotta see that tape, man! If Joss is going to be Carly 2.0, I wish she was old enough and scheme-y enough to go full heller and make a play for Jason herself. It’s the karma Carly deserves, and I would be there with bells on to watch her head explode.
  19. Sam is so pathetic still trying to cling to her role as the Jason Whisperer. Girl, he’s auditioning your replacement right now! How great that Joss has fully assimilated her mother’s view that Jason is the most important thing in the universe. Good on Jax for trying to push back on Carly’s madness, even though it’s futile. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know anything about mobbing, but would they? They might want to get rid of everyone who might at some point rise up and come to take revenge, take over, etc. I think if Carly gave up “the business” the family would still be at risk for revenge attacks by relatives of the many people Sonny and Jason have killed over the years, but they wouldn’t be making any new enemies or competing for turf anymore, so the danger would be much less. But Carly’s devoted to Jason, who won’t walk away - because honor and loyalty or whatever bullshit the show wants us to believe makes being a hired killer a noble profession - plus she loves the power, so she’ll never give it up. Poor Trina is trapped being a sounding board for other people’s problems, mostly Joss’s but today, inappropriately, Jordan’s. She deserves better!
  20. Oh, I know it won’t get through to her, but I’d just like him to say it for me.;)
  21. Cam should still be on the hook for illegal discharge of a firearm, but Jordan said she expected to drop all the charges, so whatever, I guess. Get him that counseling, Liz- he needs it. I wonder why we’re still not being shown the security footage. Budgetary reasons, or they still haven’t decided who the real shooter is? Oh, Britt. Swooning about how Jason saved your life and promising to keep his secrets is step one down the slippery slope. All hail Mob Queen Carly, sigh. Thanks to Cyrus for acting like a total toddler to sabotage his chances and make her look good. Here’s hoping Dante chews her out tomorrow.
  22. That was stupid, did she really think Britt would just watch Jason bleed to death after he saved her from Cyrus' minions. Seriously. Britt is a doctor; saving him is her fucking job. Shut up, Carly. That line was was weird, because why was Jason wearing a mask, then? What were they giving him if not an anesthetic? After watching today’s episode I’m unsure about the Cam situation. He’s clearly traumatized, but unless I missed something we still haven’t seen him actually fire the gun at Jason, so maybe this is some kind of crazy fakeout after all. At least Carly’s not the only female mob boss sitting at the table. I’m sure Ms. Wu will get all of four lines tomorrow, but I hope her business is 50 times more profitable than the Corinthos family’s. Hey, Carly, how profitable is your business? Oh right, you have NO IDEA. I’m kind of interested to see whether Carly’s just going to bullshit her way through the meeting or if she will have magically learned the ins and outs of the business and the Five Families while she was sitting at Jason’s bedside.
  23. I just meant the truth that Jason didn’t shoot Franco. I agree the Franco/Jason good/evil narrative is stupid. I don’t expect Cam to change his opinion that Franco was a hero and the best daddy ever, annoying as it is to me personally, but I do expect him to drop his “Jason is EVUHL” stance once he knows Jason didn’t kill Franco.
  24. If they’re really as invested in Cam as they seem to be, I doubt they’ll let him keep hating Jason despite his numerous non-Franco reasons to do so. Once he learns the truth about Franco, he will accept Jaysus as his lord and savior as almost everyone on this show must if they want to stay front burner. I’m afraid this storyline turn means they’re going to start pointing Cam towards the mob, because that’s what they generally do to favorites on this show - tie them to its anchors (in every sense of the word) Sonny and Jason. The Corinthos crime family needs new blood, and with Dev dead (not that I miss him), and Michael busy with ELQ and his dumb kid (not that I want to see him play mob prince), and the other teens just weak and feeble wimmins, that leaves Cam as the most obvious choice for new mob apprentice, especially given his newfound violent tendencies and the fact that he’s now probably torpedoed his college chances.
  25. Cam’s been ranting about Jason for months but his attempting to shoot Jason was an escalation that IMO didn’t have enough foundation. The confrontation in Jason’s hospital room last week was the chance to lay that foundation - Instead we got more of the same old same old “Jake says you didn’t do it” “I didn’t” “I don’t believe you and I hate you!” *blinkblink* with an extra topping of unfortunate acting choices by WL (who may have seen the future scripts and been like, okay, apparently I’m going to try to kill this dude in two days, better ramp it up to 11!) What if Cam had said something like, “I want to believe my brother and my friend, but if you didn’t do it, who did?” and Jason, afraid (as he later told Britt) that Cam could make himself a target of Peter if he starts asking questions, tried to refocus Cam’s anger on him by saying something shitty or suspicious about Franco, or even something as simple as Jason isn’t going away because charges never stick to him since he’s got so much influence in this town, neener neener. That might have pushed Cam to take the next step to try to exact his own justice. And the fact that Jason deliberately provoked him might potentially have helped Cam’s defense in the future (in court and with his friends and family). I don’t think the show is bad right now (except the Nixon Falls stuff, which is unwatchable). It frustrates me because I feel like if the writers put just a little more effort and thought into it, it could be really good. Oftentimes I can see where they’re trying to go, or where they think they’re going, but they don’t quite get there.
