  1. Even if May didn't have water in her lungs, she could have gotten enough in her throat that could cause infection.  Also, I know Sheleigh is her mother, but she is also a nurse and was pretty useless after the incident with her dramatic crying. Thank God  for Teddy indeed!

I feel like if Phyllis hadn't had to leave with the girl in labor, This all would not have happened because her and Miss Higgins would have spotted May in the water before she even went out far.

On another issue, have the other two girls in training ever uttered a word?  I've only seen them sitting at the table at tea or waving when everyone else left to go to the beach.

Aside from the fact that the crew had to tolerate Jill, the fact is that when your dinner comes out cold, you don't get a huge tip.

But,  if chef had had some help, he may not have had to serve cold food.

  3. I bet the tip was smaller because Jill did not contribute enough for her and Gary's share. She probably thought the crew having the pleasure to serve her was enough of a tip.

Someone mentioned the  chef was not organized with the preference sheets.  He probably had meal plans, but Jill kept suggesting things extra like the sushi and burgers.  I agree that the breakfast could be made simpler.  It should be family style,  maybe platters of scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon, bread etc.  After all, according to the movie Gosford Park, the upper class serve themselves at breakfast.   They had a buffet of food to select from. Not eggs served 20 different ways.

Also, I am still saying that the deck crew needs to be helping the chef with cleanups etc.  He should not have to do all that on his own.  Previous seasons the chefs have had kitchen help from deck.

  4. Liked watching the GEBs squirm when Andy mentioned Gizelle's fake boyfriend.  Even with the evidence of a picture with his real girlfriend, they kept up the ruse.

Then Andy praising all the other guys for supporting their wives by showing up to the reunion while Robin sits there stank face.

  5. All I could think of at the end is that poor baby doomed to breathe cigarette smoke and residue.  His mother surely reeked and also his blanket.  Hope he doesn't get asthma.  And Trixie mentioned the mother smoked 30 cigarettes a day!

  6. Women in the 60s, even  early 70s, would most likely quit their profession on getting married.  Not saying everyone did, but it was the norm.  Someone like Trixie, would probably resigned her position , especially since Matthew had a son that needed care.  I know Sheila did not quit, but she would have been the exception.  I know many nurses that worked part time back then until they became pregnant and then quit working.  Back in the 50s, where I live, nurses were not even  allowed to be married. My mother was going to nursing school and had to quit to marry my father.

  7. Loved how Miss Higgins took care of Reggie when Fred first became ill. Later she helped him with the garden.  She is bossy sometimes, but she really was helpful and kind this episode.  Another character that has grown personality wise.

Ashley posted one of those makeup free no glam car videos thanking the fans and saying "it was a great experience." Word on Sesame Street is The CW read her ass like a Bible at a revival.

OK, I'm dumb. Who is The CW?

I just want to know why Mia is so against Gordon suing his family.

It's Mia so whatever the reason is it is going to be terribly but wonderfully entertaining and weird.

I just took it for another of her lies.

  9. What got me was Ashley's talking head and basically throwing Deborah under the bus, Acting like she had no idea what was going to happen when we all know that she put up Deborah confronting Candiace.

Mia needs to retire her talking head dress. It makes her look like she has a drag queen fake boob chest plate on.  Her boobs are big, but a lot bigger in that dress. Also that last scene with Mia and Gordon did not make either one of them look any better.    I feel for her kids and hope they never see this on TV or elsewhere.  Especially the one who is said to be the DJ's kid.  I feel bad for him when he goes to school now.  None of that should have been said on camera.

I don't know why they're deleting so many scenes.  It's PBS, if they need an extra few minutes they can bump the schedule.  Personally, I could certainly do without the second reminder of how wonderful it is to travel on a Viking longship.

You mean you don't want to see for the 35th time that 5 minute show about how someone painted a mural in a podunk town in your state?   Or who designed your state capitol?

Not to be picky but that they would have treated that little girl, with mold infection with an antifungal and not an antibiotic.  Amphoteracin B was available back then.  We used to call it shake n bake or amphoterrible because side effects include rigors and fever.  I've taken care of someone with a lung infection from  mold.  He had to come in daily for weeks to be treated.  Luckily there are some treatments now that are not quite so bad.

  11. I am a nurse and was really interested in the pay increase scenes. Especially as this is a very real issue here in the states right now.  In fact my department has been fighting to make equal pay as hospital inpatient departments.  I was sad that Phyllis shut her down like that with being a midwife to help or something like that.  We had a meeting with some management   and the same thing was brought up that people go into nursing because it's a calling and not for the pay.  Of course my sassy mouth had to speak back.

Loved Sister Veronica during the stand off with the drug dealer husband.

The scene where the new midwife told that lady that no one likes a bald baby, reminds me of when my second was born.  When he was crowning, the nurse told me my baby didn't have any hair.  Which was fine because my daughter didn't either.  And they both ended up white blond for a few years.

  12. Phaedra ( who accused fellow housewife of drugging and having sex with another housewife) has some nerve calling someone a piece of shit.

MJ was as butt hurt as the two faithfuls who went with Cirie to the end last season.  Poor sport.  Typical Shah's behavior.

Larsa is so shallow that she only went on the show to be on TV.  That tracks for her.

  13. I wondered if Guerdy went ahead and had a double mastectomy with reconstruction at the same time.  That is what a coworker recently had done when diagnosed with breast cancer.  Also, you end up needing some type of work done on the other breast even if you have a single mastectomy with reconstruction, just to make them even.  I thought maybe that is why Guerdy was so prominently showing her girls at the reunion.  She's proud of their look.

I was creeped out when MJ essentially said her husband was going to be really displeased if she didn't come home with any money, like there might be some dire consequences for her if she didn't win.

I took that as a joke.

  15. I remember on BBT that Sheldon couldn't lie. The episode where Leonard and him made up a lie to get out of Penny singing in Rent.  What happened from his lies this episode to him unable to lie to Penny and hiring an actor to make his story plausible.

Found out tonight the my hubby is hot for MeMaw's hairdo.  So of course I had to show him pictures of how Annie Pott's hair really looks.  To me MeMaw's hair looks like how my grandma used to wear hers. Hmm.

I think she was just fostering the cat while it healed until they could find a home for it.

Yes.  And people's sensibilities were different back then.  Especially after being on a farm with a lot of animals.  Helen giving away the cat really wasn't that big of a deal for the times.

I've watched part of the Touring the Dales special.  It's a great episode!  They show the filming locations and also animal training to name a few things.

When I watch these episodes I look up a lot of the actors on IMDB, usually because I'm trying to figure out where I know them from, and it is not surprising to read that many of them died of cancer, emphysema, and other smoking-related ailments.  A friend of mine is also slowly going through this series, and she jokes that Paul Drake is constantly going in and out of the courtroom because he's so desperate for a cigarette.

I'm an oncology nurse. One night I looked at Burger and told my hubby that man has lung cancer.  Then I looked it up and he did die of lung disease.  I could tell by his coloring.

I record PM off of Justice TV.  It seems less edited up and the episode seem longer.  I'm going to look it up on freevee.  This became our go to show this summer and fall with first all the summer reruns and then the writer's strike and no new shows to watch.
