If it's because she's blind, which I agree it probably will be, that will add an additional layer of insult. The ship can fly itself and there's been plenty of times the team is split up and others are left to make decisions in the field. There's no reason she needs a co-captain.

They're willing to pretend she's not a human being but some strawman Badass Chick Who Doesn't Need To See... right up until the point that would allow her to not be pushed aside to make more room for Ava.

The funniest part is all the reassuring people were doing last July that this super power story was necessary for Sara to keep up with all the magical threats. "It's a good thing! She'll have even more to do now! This was done because they want to write for her but just couldn't lately because due to circumstances totally out of their control, they had to write the type of threats no one could ever come up with a way to be challenged by a street-level hero!"

    Now here we are.

Oh I agree it's insulting. They might also just do it because Sara "believes" in Ava and not even because of a handicap.

Plus the fact that Ava was only on the ship because she dates Sara. We don't see other time bureau agents on the ship. If Ava was a guy, there would be more uproar about this scenario.

I'm beginning to think CL only kept her job because they need her to be Ava's love interest. It's not like she's needed for anything else. They've proved that this season by making her so easily replaceable.

If AVA was a guy and he got to co-captain because he dated the female captain there would be understandable uproar. I think they will probably kept Sara blind so that there is reasons for this but it does make be angry. I don't know if her fans will even care about the show in a year if Ava is continuingly going to be the focus. Ava's a boring character. I will watch but I hate what they are doing.

  3. I hope Charlie isn't gone forever or even for a long period of time. Maisie Richardson-Sellers hasn't had a full season the last 2 seasons so I think it may be like this season but that her kidnapping is probably a cliffhanger.

I like the idea of Zari and Behrad as a brother sister superhero duo.

Sara and Ava as official co-captains makes me think Sara may stay blind.

  4. Gary has been magically made an apprentice warlock so he doesn't have to have magical talents. I do hope we lose him. He's not fun anymore - if he ever was I can't remember. Especially since he's more or less a full cast member now and I rather see more Sara and Rory. And there is far too much Ava. She is boring even when she's doing cool things like shooting two guns. Imo.

Not that I think Dominic is really leaving the show (though I felt that the writers were setting up his happy ending/exit with the kid), but Brandon probably also had 2 years left on his contract, and he was let go anyway. It might not be up to the actors' if the writers don't want to write for these older characters anymore, and prefer to write for their shiny new toys (Ava, Constantine, etc) instead.

Any actor can leave no matter the contract. I think Ray "left" the reason why Laurel was killed. Their actors were signed as leadish characters and their screen time weren't worth the price. They even had Brandon play an evil version of his character to get screen time last seaosn.

I haven't actually seen the episode yet. I will watch it Tuesday (and the new episode as well)...

I think Ray is the type to leave to support his partner. Him leaving actually fits his character. He was happy off ship when it was just him in Kendra in season 1.

I don't think Rory is the type to settle down for a daughter. At least not easy. Him having family can lead to stories. I can see him staying the 2 seasons which is how long I think Legends will last any way.

Wasn't Sara just looking for work off the Waverider because Ava was unhappy and Sara was willing to leave everything she loves for Ava? Now that Ava loves the waverider I don't see them leaving. Even with her father alive, Sara doesn't have much of a life off ship. I don't see her as someone who can do nothing. Even though the show has her neutered, she is technically doing stuff. She would be beyond bored in a clean Star City.

  6. That Ava/Zari scene was too similar to the ones between Sara/Zari in s3. I just wish I liked Ava better. I like both versions of Maisie and Tala and I like Constintine and Behrad so this isn't I hate the new people.

I did like the episode more than I thought but that was because Ava wasn't in it as much as I feared. Nate is stil annoying when he's too much.

I do love that Ray finally has someone who loves him. DarhkAtom is adoreable and I will miss Ray.

  7. Sara and Ava's relationship isn't about Sara. At all. She is being used to promote Ava. Sara even has to "always' give into Ava's needs. It's making me miss Sara and hate Ava.

I also want to say writers don't have to get rid of characters because the plot isn't about them. You create plot for the characters!!!! New characters are just easier to write for since less history has to be maneuvered through.

And Arrow writers had their own issues. Organically Sara would have fit in a league of assassins season. Instead they killed her off.

  8. If Caity feels this way after the season has ended filiming, I have very little faith in the rest of the season. She does watch the episodes and reads how Sara's fans respond so she might just be taking about Sara so far in the season, but I don't think so.

Right now I can't stand Ava unrelated to Sara's margaizing within the avalance relationship. She is just so ME focused. She's like season 2 Nate annoying. Imo.

  9. Caity had to pep and then direct the two weeks for episode 4 and 5.

But in show Sara's father is alive now so she does have family. But we also have Siren and whatever Sara told her about Mia that sent her to steamroll over the life Earth Prime's Mia has lived. Sara also took Mia to Oliver's funeral. They were a few episodes away but the Legends writers knew GABC was set in the future and that Oliver was staying dead.

You're welcome, @Aeryn13! Thank you, everyone, for making this Arrow forum a place I've wanted to visit and participate in over the past several years. Although I'll continue to post anything Arrow-relevant I come across (at least for awhile), it won't be the same.

So many people have contributed to this forum (not just spoilers and news, but also comments, opinions and insights). I also want to thank all of you for making my Arrow fanship full of info, entertainment with actual thought provoking discussion of tv and real issues as well as just an over all interesting experience. I'll never forget the Arrow fandom especially the charity of OTA and Olicity fans. 🙏

Last day of Arrow spoilers - super sad 😔

  11. Time travel alters the future. Oliver and the Paragons traveled to the dawn of creation but that doesn't change their history since their memories are intact. Even without new memories. On Legends history doesn't let you do somethings. You can't stop yourself from being born. I can see that transferring to things that made you the you that could change time in the first place. Like with Rip and his family.  Though it's all inconsistent. Zari accidentally does what she started out to do. Save her future. I know it's different on The Flash but Marc Guggenheim is more a part of Legends then Flash.

Moira sacrificing herself was a huge event in Oliver's life but was it was more that it was right in front of his eyes? Her surviving that would still be impactful. Though I can't see how Tommy being brought back fits 🙃 Maybe Oliver just had Malcolm pit both Tommy and Moira 🤔

I know it's non Arrow related but...Earth 1 Laurel not coming back might not just be, because of the "new" spinoff. Her death has been a huge part of Sara's journey. Even part of her spear of destiny moment. (LOT pretty much ignored Lance's death).

  12. I dislike mocumentaries but last night's episode was better than expected. Sara being able to still mourn Oliver was awesome & her relationship with Zari's brother was sweet but I miss Zari (and Jax).

I think Everybody was used well for the most part even if I don't want Zari's scarfice and change to be mostly about Nate let alone all about him.  And I'm tired of Ava's jealousy & that condolence card annoyed. Also Ava getting to be assassin-like similar to early Sara, except no internal torment, is just more annoyance. Ava has no depth to her. She is very robot in some ways. I think Sara forgives too easily as well so the same couple issues keep manifesting. They need growth if this relationship is more than both having no one else. Though that seems to be why they are together Imo.

Hopefully Mona is gone. The actress seems talented but Mona just isn't my cup of tea and Wolfy is just always unwelcome.

I believe he remembers because he wasn't shown to be emotional, surprised or overjoyed about getting baby Sara back. Especially when it was his best friend's sacrifice that made her return possible.

But I could be completely wrong and it's possible that the Arrow finale will expand on it.

Well we didn't see Diggle relearn the memories or come home. He could have saw his daughter was back earlier than when she comes up to him on the couch. So going by his scene, it could've went the same as Clark's.

But it does seem the Clark scene was just wrong. He should had both memories. At least that is how it was done on Supergirl. Or so I read since I don't watch Supergirl.

Why does Diggle remember having two kids but Clark doesn't? It seems Diggle's memories of the old timeline merged with his memories of the new one* while Clark only remembers the old timeline. It sounds like a plot hole/contradiction to me. Or maybe this will get explained on the new Superman and Lois show.

*which is why I think he doesn't remember baby Sara getting erased. In this new Earth-Prime reality he has always had two kids and those memories weren't overwritten the moment J'onn had him remember Crisis.

I wonder how many of the characters who died during Crisis are back. What happened to Earth-90 Flash? Is he dead? Is he back? Will The Flash writers even care enough to answer this question?

Do we for sure know Diggle remembers more than Clark? Maybe he went home and saw he now has two kids. Diggle knew Barry erased a daughter Sara. I think he would feel emotional about having her back even if he doesn't have memories of her life.

  15. Laurel should always be screaming in action scenes not fighting. I don't know why but there is never a good transition between KCR and the stunt double. That wasn't helped by the overall miss of  direction. I do like snark Laurel well enough but Oliver doesn't deserve any of that from her.

I enjoyed the episode though. Stephen has had me in tears all season. This episode, him with Diggle and the kids really got me again. I also liked William&Mia and the Diggle family.

Either all these cameos and guest stars have a gag order and can't post a bunch of bts pics... or their barely in it and the press/cw/ producers are just using them for hype.   I am personally hoping for the former but leaning towards the latter.

Maybe both. There is often gag orders for special stuff.  And I am personally hoping the focus is on the characters we have been watching all these years and not the special guest stars & characters.

Where are Arrow characters?, where are Legend characters? where are characters of other universes? This crossover is looking more and more smaller than I thought. So far, doesn't look like the big fight for the multiverse.

Arrow's Dingle and Lyla are there but there isn't a Legend's character though they are on the Legends set. And Brandon is a Legends actor and the new Atom might last past the crossover on Legends but you can't count them as legends since they are new characters.

We don't know how big this scene will be. They aren't going to have the big fight on the Waverider set.

  18. Legends definitely should have a different fan base than it is marketed too. It's corny and GAY in wonderful ways but it is a way different show now. Vandal Savage is proof. I'm still laughing. I read PK's interview about Ray bonding with someone unexpected but Savage did not enter my mind. But he and Ray both lost Kendra to her fated love.

I enjoyed most of 4a and I loved this 4b finale but the rest dragged. It is time to reground this show in it's history foundation and it's core cast.

I do think the season starting out at Woodstock and ending singing love to save Nate really brought the theme of the season together. A lot of 4b was boring because I don't care about Mona and I didn't need to see Sara stuck in Ava centric love interest needs. And Nate&Zari was a big no.

It will be interesting to see how Zari is changed.
