Well Maks posted this picture with Kate Upton a few days ago. He had it up on Instagram but removed it. It's still up on Facebook. Not all pictures are meant for shippers ;) Maks is friendly with his exs and most of his former partners :) Maks and Meryl are pretty together.

I think Lizzie was on edge about Maks basically confirming he wasn't coming back to DWTS, and then when the female host went all shippery Lizzie got annoyed and wanted them to get on with the interview. There was some annoyance at her(since no one likes her it seems) but she got the host to move directly to talking about Ballroom with a twist and Maks's star.

I definitely love Amy and Rory and River with 11 more so than I do Rose and Martha with 10.

The Doctor was this striking figure in Amy's life because she knew he was real but everybody said he was fiction. He defined her Childhood. As he would have if Amy was male. Having him be proven real and ready to take her on adventures was a childhood dream come true. Amy is kind of like a modern take on one of the ladies Moffat wrote for an earlier episode, The lady in the fireplace.

And what some consider sexist, I consider a focus on someone else's story instead of the lone female companion. I just can't see how Amy Pond isn't as fully developed and distinct as Rose, Martha and Donna. The male Rory is more the one who exists for romance. River is a bit female Jack Harkness but we get her story in pieces and she's very memorable imo. Clara isn't fully developed but we'll see what happens with the new Doctor. And while Madame Vastra and Jenny are romance, I think they are very sweet and fierce together. I love them both. Matt's Doctor just had a bunch of characters around that were used as much as the recurring Characters of the RTD years. I get why people wouldn't enjoy this change as much but to call it sexist? That isn't something I agree with. At least not yet. I guess it depends on what happens with Clara and the coming companions.

All these packages are Fluff since these packages are what we who watch figure skating call fluff pieces ;) They are made to push want ever fits what the producers what to tell. Usually a positive piece on the growth of a skater since the last big Competition. Sometimes they are about regression or injury since the last big competition. On DWTS, it's the agenda of getting the audience interested enough to watch the performance that they are about to show and to want to watch more. Plus there are some other agenda's as well. Pushing whatever reason for the weeks theme. Also to help sell a popular star who's getting the votes even when their dancing isn't the best. And some believe to show support for long term pros and pros that have shown loyalty and/or are known to have a big following. Maks creates his dances on his star so chemistry is often something that is a big deal with his choreography. And since chemistry plays well to the audience, tptb played that up with Meryl. And that is what they should do-play up what will best sell the star and dance. I just wish that when a story isn't a given, tptb would just show rehearsal footage and allow the dance to sell itself. I guess that belongs in a more general thread though Meryl's dances would have sold themselves without all the chemistry talk&show in the packages.

I love Rose and Rose&Jack with 9 I love Donna with 10 I love Amy, Rory and River with 11 together and (except for some of Amy) separately as well.

I love 9 but if you start to dislike 9, yeah start skipping episodes. I personally think the Empty Child and The Doctor dances are 2 of the best episodes of sci fi so I'm probably biased. I love 9 and Rose but I adore 9, Rose and Jack. And 10 with Rose <3

The criteria of the graphic aside, it's hard to judge based on Matt's Doctor and on the two story arcs of the female companions of Moffet's era. Amy was a little girl and The Doctor considered her a child even if an adult child. In a lot of ways Amy and the Doctor are each others child since he becomes her son in law. I think it was an interesting dynamic. Matt's Doctor looked young but had a personality that was sometimes young at heart but sometimes ancient. Add Rory and that is actually 4 main characters at times. All 4 are family. And Clara had little interaction outside of her travels with the Doctor so that often left her inside the episode story or inside the doctors journey. In a lot of ways she was there just to tell the doctors story but she's only been there half a season. If you want to base it off her (which they don't even mention) I think they did need to get The doctor to the places they needed and she was there to make it happen. I actually love the very early episodes of season 5, a lot of season 6 and the Pond years of season 7. So maybe I'm Biased. The Show kind of lost a bit with Clara for me but I feel like the doctor lost family and never connected to Clara as family or friend. She was like a student or a colleague. The thing is that I felt that way with Martha too and she was after The Doctor lost Rose. Perhaps this less of a connection is all in my head? I do hope they get more female writers because female voices can add interesting different point of views.

Oh yeah The Long Game is probably needed. Imo it's not a starting point episode so yeah watch the whole first season starting with Rose. It's cool to watch Rose and 9's friendship. And the graphic is awesome Chip!!

Whatever you do don't start with 10 and Martha. 10 is a bit depressed at times that it kind of makes that relationship not as bonding as the other companions. Start with the first New Who episode Rose or start with The empty Child (Jack Harkness's first episode) and go into 9's final Arc.

I could never ship Esther with Jack since she just looked and seemed sooo young. But yeah getting attached to Torchwood characters is a bad idea other than Jack and Gwen.

I finally finished Miracle Day and it just got super Dull :( And though I knew it was coming I don't like the change in Mythology with Rex. I need to Write some fan fiction to fix that right now :P So many deaths. I didn't care about them-even Esther's.

Oh Narratives are important. That was my point even if I didn't get it across. They influence even the most cynical watcher. The thing is that all these people are doing things that isn't just learning the dances and very little of anything got into the packages. It's all about the theme and what shows off not just the week's dances but the season arcs that are developing from the day the star and dancer are picked for the season. Meryl had awesome packages even if they were her influence on Maks centric.

Well Danica was doing math related things and thenthe week she was hurt she traveled to a big conference. I don't think the song focused enough on her math and writing. Or her dance background :p Via watching the show I don't know what everybody else was doing either. Very little of what everybody was doing outside the theme of the episodes and the star/partner season arc were mentioned.

Maks took a year of acting and Meryl had very little to do with whatever was different for him this season but it was cute to watch them together because of their size and natural temperament difference. And young girls really connected with her and them. I wish she would have got to be a princess Disney week because that would have sent the little pre teen girls over the age!

It wasn't the way Charlie was scored that was the problem. It was the way the judges talked to him and the way the packages were presented.

I like what Erin brought to the season. One of the reasons I often have watched this show via ff on my DVR or just via Youtube, is because the hostess has sucked the air out of the episode. This year I actually watched everything (to get more Charlie and Sharna once I knew Charlie's packages wasn't going to be real moments-starting with that Tango rehearsal week two) and I have grown to really enjoy Erin. Yes there were cringe moments but for the most part she was able to handle herself well and be entertaining. Which I didn't actually think would happen since I didn't like her as a guest judge on SYTYCD.
