  1. I just rechecked the show's "news" section on tvshowsondvd.com (to be sure before I posted). Yes, both seasons have extras (both S1 & S2 are out now, but S1 is the only 1 available in Blu-Ray apparently); among the extras, each season does have a gag reel.
  2. CBS *cancelled* The Millers yesterday (the next ep will apparently be the last 1 to air). I know they've already written Frank Langella in as Gabriel, Philip & Elizabeth's original liaison with The Centre who comes out of retirement to work with them again, but I'm also hoping this bodes well for a reasonably quick return of Margo Martindale's Claudia.
  3. Just a reminder, for those who care: H50 is PRE-EMPTED tonight, due to CBS' broadcast of The Hollywood Film Awards, hosted by Queen Latifah. The show returns next Friday night, November 21st, with Episode 508. That ep features the return of Carol Burnett as Steve (& Mary)'s Aunt Deb, & pop music legend Frankie Valli in another guest role.
  4. Actually the next new ep apparently doesn't air until November 21st--there's a new Hollywood awards special this Friday, the 14th. Carol Burnett returns in the next ep as Steve (& Mary)'s Aunt Deb, & brings along music legend Frankie Valli with her in another guest role.
  5. Don't forget all those foods President Bartlet would list as being served at various White House dinners/banquets &, as I remember, at that big bash for 1 of Abbey's birthdays--the 1 where (I think) Lord John Marbury kept asking if he could grasp Abbey's breasts & (I also think) Donna was thought/discovered to be Canadian & not allowed to attend the dinner for some reason connected to that. Unfortunately, I think the only food I can remember Jed mentioning was chèvre (cheese).
  6. I think Steve & Danny are supposed to be close to Alex & Scott's real age range, the mid/late 30's (Alex & Scott are both 38 in real life). In the arrest warrant shown onscreen/on the HPD computer screen (as Duke Lukela calls Five-0 to give them a head's up HPD is about to come to Five-0 HQ & arrest Steve, causing Steve to go on the run &, among other places, to Kamekona's to get a weapon) for Steve in the S1 Finale (when Wo Fat framed him for Laura Hills' murder by car bombing), if I remember correctly, Steve's birth year (which some people were somehow able to make out) was given as either 1976 or 1977. As for Chin Ho, I'm pretty sure I read he was supposed to be the eldest member of the team (well, originally; Lou Grover may now have him beat or be fairly close to Chin's intended age, if not older), probably somewhere in his early/mid 40's. If I remember correctly, Daniel Dae Kim was born in August, 1968; that would make him 46 in real life right now. I think everybody knows Kono's meant to be the "baby"/youngest of the team, as it were. I'd put her age as from her late 20's to somewhere earlier in her 30's than Steve & Danny are meant to be. I remember someone saying that, in the early S2 scene in which Kono enters her house & finds Captain Fryer standing there (when he goes to, as we later learn, recruit her for the undercover op meant to take down Frank Delano & his band of dirty cops) looking at a book that belongs to Kono, the book he was looking at was supposed to be 1 of her (presumably High School) yearbooks & it was supposed to be from 2000. So if she was still in High School in 2000, she's not all that old. Grace Park, on the other hand, turned 40 in March, 2014. In real life, Daniel & Grace (whose characters are the [originally] eldest & youngest members on the team) are the 2 eldest actors of the original 4 main leads, with current ages in their 40's, with Scott & Alex (in that order, as their birthdays are a day apart & Scott's is earliest) tied as the youngest actors of the original 4 main leads, each with a current age of 38.
  7. The Eric Dickerson cameo was part of a series of 4 cameos by former/mostly former NFL stars--Tony Gonzalez, Boomer Esiason, Eric Dickerson & Phil Simms. Besides H50, they already appeared (in the player order listed) on NCIS & Blue Bloods, & the 4th cameo (Phil Simms) is coming up on Elementary on November 13th. Here's a link to CBS' press release about the cameos, but it never really explains why they were done. My thought is they were done as a way to promote CBS' NFL coverage, & the recent airing of Thursday night NFL games on the network in particular. Especially since at least 2 of the players involved are/were mentioned in the press release as being Commentators on the Thursday night games carried on CBS. https://www.cbspressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/releases/view?id=40673
  8. I actually agree with you. It is called the Mess (from Mess Hall) in the White House, so Mess is more appropriate than Commissary. I think there's a place where we can request changes, new forums, etc. If I find it again, & remember, I'll write a post asking about the change.
  9. I think this maybe goes here. If not, apologies. I didn't think it was necessarily appropriate for the Josh Lyman thread since it has to do with work Brad did after The West Wing (& should, therefore, be off-topic for the forum, if not that thread, anyway). Anyway... According to a recent post on the tvshowsondvd.com website, amazon.com is now (FINALLY) selling DVDs (produced through their Create A Space program) for the 1 & only season of The Good Guys. If you forget, that's the comedic cop show Brad did, with Tom Hanks' son Colin & Diana Maria Riva (Santos campaign staffer Edie Ortega in TWW S6-7; she also appeared in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip with Brad), among others, which aired 21 eps on Fox the season after Studio 60 crashed & burned (I think)--if it wasn't then, it was on during the TV season after Brad & Jane Kaczmarek's divorce was announced (that, I'm positive of--not so much if it was the season after Studio 60 or not). In the show, Brad & Colin were cop partners; Colin was a by the book "Joe Friday" type, while Brad's character loved hard rock music, was usually drunk on the job & bumbled his way through solving the crime of the week as a result, & Diana Maria played the Lieutenant who was their boss. If you're interested, the few details that are available on these DVDs can be found here: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Good-Guys-Season-1/20444

  11. DW March: Yes, Halawa (the correct spelling--many Hawaiian words, such as this 1, have W's pronounced like V's) is a real Correctional Facility. The show has actually filmed some scenes there in past seasons, especially Seasons 1 & 2, but they've also recreated an actual cell from Halawa at the Diamond Head Studios where H50 films. In the Season 2 premiere, for example, I think scenes that took place at Halawa were filmed using both the real facility--I've read, or it's been said in certain ep commentaries on the DVDs/Blu-Rays, that they have a specific area of the prison where they film (I think it's "Special Holding" or something like that) which allows the production crew to come in & out freely but not those currently incarcerated there--& the recreated cell at Diamond Head Studios. Like the outdoor stuff--i.e. where Steve got shanked by Victor Hesse while exercising in the prison yard--was shot at Halawa, but the stuff with Steve in a cell when he's told he has a visitor (which turns out to be Danny & Joe White) was done in the recreated cell at the studio (except maybe the actual scene where Steve visits with Danny & Joe. That may also have been filmed in Halawa). So far, I think they're still calling Catherine Steve's love interest. In fact, Peter Lenkov repeatedly Tweeted earlier today "She's just a friend". No explanation, but presumably directed at those possibly already getting in an uproar over this new character being more than friends with Steve. You'll have to keep watching to find out what happens with Jerry. Oh, Peter Lenkov says the shooting fallout hasn't ended for Danny. Check my recent post in the Spoilers and Speculation thread for a link to where he discussed the continuation of the Danny arc. With all due respect to the original poster, I'm not going to believe the show is "on the bubble" for renewal until/unless I see it for myself. Which I haven't yet. The show is currently renewed through the end of the current season, which should have it airing through sometime in May, 2015. Especially given that it still has to air 20 of the 25 eps ordered for this season (they were filming Ep 11 for S5 as of this past week; I don't know if filming is completed on that or not). I wouldn't get concerned about its renewal chances until the beginning/Spring of 2015 when the networks will finalize their schedules for next season, which would be H50's 6th, if renewed. Also, I think Peter Lenkov is in the middle of a development deal with CBS. If he is, that should guarantee H50, which Peter Lenkov Executive Produces, will remain on air at least through the conclusion of that deal (it normally would guarantee something like that anyway). And, H50 is very successful, & makes a lot of money, for CBS by airing in foreign markets. If it stays profitable in that way, I don't see CBS giving up that revenue by cancelling it in the near future.
  12. They *are* original airdates. This is Season 5 & CBS is airing first-run S5 episodes currently, so the ep the thread is about is airing for the 1st time as the thread is created. I just followed another ep thread creator in using the phrase "Original Air Date" in my ep threads to note the date the ep 1st aired, in case anyone wanted that information. Also notation of the original air date could be helpful, to some, when the same ep comes up as a repeat later in the season. Jorge has actually been in the show, as Jerry Ortega, since last season. Last season his character was considered "recurring" (like the character of Danny's daughter, Grace); his character was promoted to a full-fledged "regular" (main) character (like the 5-0 team & Max), with a spot in the opening credits, this season (just like Chi McBride's character, Lou Grover). I somehow missed the reference in the ep to the age difference between Steve & Chin. But it's show canon that Chin is old enough to have been a partner of Steve's Dad, John McGarrett, before John retired from the HPD to work on the case involving what was said to be his wife Doris' death in what was said to be a car accident but was actually a faked car bombing to facilitate her disappearance (which was apparently necessary, we learn in Season 3, to protect her family because of her work as an undercover CIA operative). Chin was likely John McGarrett's last partner (or 1 of his last partners) before he retired from HPD. It's also show canon that Steve & Chin attended the same High School, Kukui High (at least until Steve & his sister Mary were sent to the Mainland by John McGarrett for their protection after their Mother Doris' "death"; in Season 3, it's also said Doris McGarrett taught at Kukui High, but I can't remember if the subject she taught was mentioned... I wanna say she taught English, but I might be wrong). It's also show canon Steve & Chin both played football at Kukui High (in different schoolyears) & Steve broke some or all of Chin's records on the team/in the sport when he played on the football team after Chin did. Funny, I haven't read anything about the show being "on the bubble" for renewal... yet. It's only aired 5 eps this season (out of 25 planned), & it's really too early to be predicting which "older" shows, like H50, will/will not return next season, at this point. It has a full-season renewal for this current season (expected to run through May, 2015). If you're going by the ratings/demos, again that's not necessarily an indicator. Especially as the show airs on Fridays & networks know to expect lower ratings & demos for shows on Fridays (since it's the 1st night of the weekend & many people don't stay home to watch TV, as such). I really wouldn't be concerned about the show's future until next spring--that's when the networks will decide the fates of older shows, like H50, & the shows that started airing this Fall & made it past midseason. FYI, CSI: NY (which H50 Exec Producer Peter Lenkov worked on before H50) was in this same timeslot H50 has now & ran for 3 seasons there before being cancelled. Please let's not call the end of the show before the network officially does (which may still be years off, for all we know). If by brothers you mean Kamekona & Flippa (who helps at Kamekona's shrimp truck), they're actually cousins in the show. Flippa's character name is normally given in press release character listings as "Cousin Flippa" (the actor's name is Shawn Mokuahi Garnett). And that's how Kamekona introduced Flippa to Steve & Danny in the 1st ep in which he appeared, as his (Kamekona's) "Cousin Flippa". I think the 1st ep Cousin Flippa was in was the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show-related ep that aired early in the series.
  13. Not for nothing, but Donna's teacher referred to upthread was actually Mrs. Morello (Mrs. Molly Morello, I think it was), not Mrs. Morelli. Just a small correction.

  16. It hasn't even aired (in the US or the UK) yet, but there's already preliminary information, including a release date, on a DVD & Blu-Ray release for Death Comes To Pemberley, the PD James continuation of a Jane Austen story that Matthew stars in & filmed between S1 & S2 (I think it was). The information is from the TVShowsOnDVD.com website, posted earlier today, October 21st. Here's the link: http://tvshowsondvd.com/n/20404
  17. For those wondering if Danny will actually have to face some sort of consequences for his retaliatory murder of Reyes, who murdered Danny's (younger) brother Matt, your answer is in the latest Ask Ausiello column on TVLine.com, via Exec Producer Peter Lenkov. And hopefully at least most of you will end up being happy with his answer. If I counted right, it's the 18th question down from the top of the column. The *easiest* way to find it, though, is to just scroll down the linked page until you find the pic of Scott Caan that's in the column. The pertinent Q&A is right underneath it. Here's the link to the column: http://tvline.com/2014/10/21/greys-anatomy-spoilers-amelia-addiction-season-11-ask-ausiello/
  18. John Ondrasik of the rock group Five for Fighting has created a special song, All For One, for the upcoming milestone 100th ep of the show. Exec Producer Peter Lenkov & Ondrasik discuss the song here: http://m.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hawaii-five-0-100th-episode-741818?utm_source=twitter LINK SOURCE: Twitter/LINKED ARTICLE SOURCE: The Hollywood Reporter There's also an almost 40 second Soundcloud audio clip of the song included at the above linked article, in case you haven't heard it/this news yet & want a preview of the song before the ep airs November 7th. If you end up liking the song enough to want to add it to your music collection, the article also says it will be available as a single via iTunes (no mention of availability at amazon or other legal download sites) after the ep airs. I can't remember if it's with this article or not (I think it is) but there's a cool (my opinion) graphic that goes along with the song & helps depict its theme. If it's not with the linked article, it's on various sites talking about the show, the 100th ep, or the song.
  19. Good intro shot to Brazil? Steve & Danny went to Colombia to save Matt, not Brazil. Or was Brazil really somewhere in the ep & I lost track?
  20. He's Claudia's replacement, but he's not new to the Jenningses. Or he shouldn't be. He's playing Gabriel their original/previous handler, who's often been mentioned in S1 & S2, who's come out of retirement to work with them again.
  21. Check online sometime close to the release date for the DVDs (I think the press release linked upthread said S2 DVDs come out on December 16th). If this show is anything like my other favorite show, the DVD extras will probably show up somewhere online (not necessarily on the show's website, but other sources) around the DVD release date. Or you might eventually be able to rent them from your library or somewhere else if you don't want to buy in DVD format. Also, if you're interested, you can also download eps from both S1 & S2/all of S1 &/or S2 through iTunes (at least if you're in the US).
  22. For those who missed this ep, or those who wanna see it again, CBS is repeating it NEXT Saturday, October 18th, at 8PM Eastern/7PM Central.
  23. Oddly enough, production-wise this was numbered/apparently filmed as Ep 501--the 1st ep shot this season--but aired as Ep 503. I saw the Ep# on a pic of the script cover which was on Twitter recently, & the iTunes Ep #s are already out of order for the season, if you download the eps there & pay attention to the Ep (order of broadcast) & Production (order of filming) #s as they give them in their info on the ep. If I remember correctly, iTunes says the eps that have aired so far are: 1. Ep 501 (Broadcast #)/Ep 503 (Production/Filming #) 2. Ep 502 (Broadcast AND Production/Filming #s) 3. Ep 503 (Broadcast #)/Ep 501 (Production/Filming #) Plus if you noticed, the ep was fairly light on scenes involving Scott/Danny which actually tied to plotlines in this season/this week's ep & didn't involve flashbacks either from Loa Aloha (Ep 118/the Matt ep) or from the scene that aired within the last couple weeks where Reyes said Danny had until Monday to give him the $18.5 Million for Matt's life or Matt was dead, & Danny's reaction was to beat up on Reyes in that parking lot. They started filming this season in Hawaii on July 8th; Scott was still on the Mainland then waiting for the birth of his daughter Josie, which happened the next day (the 9th), & he wasn't back on set in Hawaii after that until something like the 21st or 22nd of July if I remember correctly. So that explains why the ep was light on Scott scenes with all-new material in them & gives creedence to the fact this ep was aired outta filming order.
