  1. Count down to Lauren Lyle as the lead in the ITV series Karen Pirie debuting in the US on Britbox.

And now I see her in a new movie, filming in the sun in Dominican Republic.  It is called Something in the Water.  The writer is from Edinburgh and the director is a woman with some serious credits to her name.  So this is a rather big deal.

  2. I watched the new Netflix documentary on this whole saga.  I must say the costumes were dead on.  Sean Penn’s make up was dead on.  The voices all seem to echo the right tone.  Not sure why the criticism because it was a good representation of what when on.  Interesting that the female journalist was not Helen Thomas but the actress is a dead ringer for her.

  3. I remember watching Dean testify (ya I’m that old).  Hearing Mo explain how she could present herself however she needed and that she could teach him.  Well I don’t want to spoil it but suddenly what I and the rest of the world saw makes so much sense.  I was watching the characterization of Dean leading up to this episode and wondering how this could be the same man I saw testify.  Now I know.

  4. Gaslit stars Julia Roberts and Sean Penn.  It’s a fascinating story, well told.  Great production values.  Starz.

So like so many great performances and production in Outlander this gem is going to never see a wide audience or awards for their work.

Starz, why you be so mean?  If this was on Apple or HBO it would be all over SM.  Crickets if it’s Starz.

Tom Christie, Welcome to "Not a Total Asshat" territory.  This actor, the way he plays him, damn.  That look he gave Claire while they were sitting on the hill, double damn.  Jamie catching that look, OH DAMN!  Loved the whole exchange.

Speaking of Tom Christie looks - When Allen takes the baby’s coffin from Claire Tom Christie has a look that says he figured it out.  At least that’s how I saw it.

  6. Oh gosh, Rosemary Woods ‘What is my brain doing up there.”  I sat and laughed out loud.  Like really laughed out loud.  God love them, whoever made her such a twit from the start.

Although @KarenX had me googling to find the episode she described.  LOL.

I just needed to stop a second but it did cause me pause.  I wish all of the ‘labeling’ indicated 9 then.  I mean there are people that will need therapy to go from 8 to 10.  Not me, I’ll be fine.

Just saw Episode 4, Series 20, of Midsomer Murders and one of the main suspects is Roger! He was very good - plays a flashy rugby player with some drug issues.

Midsomer Murders must be the Law & Order of the UK.  Tobias as a butchers son was so cute.

I also loved the detective and her wife in this episode ... especially where the detective is going on about how annoying the true crime podcast is, and the wife goes " .... ok, but what about the cat?"

And the detective’s sharp intake of breath was so good you really didn’t need any dialogue.

The ongoing Gut Milk references are killing me! I actually did a spit take when they were talking:

Charles: This Gut Milk......is so good! It's 13% alcohol!

Oliver: I know! I think it's making my abs grow!

HA HA HA!!!!! Seriously, I hope they keep the Gut Milk humor coming!

I loved that Oliver didn’t even blink after hearing it was 13% alcohol just said Cheers.

Mabel certainly wields her one knitting needle like a dangerous weapon.

Analysis of a woman that successfully fought off a murder attempt by using skills she saw on Walking Dead said that one should always go with what you dream/fantasize about as a weapon.  You’ll be comfortable with it and you will know you can succeed.  So using that theory Mabel should absolutely carry a knitting needle since she’s comfortable with it.

I think Mabel's age and Selena's age are about the same - it's been 10 years since Zoe died, and it seemed to me they were high school students at the time. So, late 20s now.

I appreciate the "energy" Selena gives to Mabel. Can you imagine three people with Martin Short/Steve Martin energy levels? No thank you.

I notice that both Martin Short and Nathan Lane are noticeably ‘low key’ compared to things I’ve seen of them in the past.  And I appreciate that.  I wonder if this was the direction for all of them.  I quite like Gomez in her part.  She definitely reminds me of the 20 somethings in my life.

Selena Gomez did a a TV Show during quarantine where she is learning to cook in her home from instructions from famous chefs during a video chat. Since she would be pretty much alone for the entirety of the program, I think you would get to see a lot of her true nature. The show was called "Selena + Chef" with two (9 and 10 episode) seasons available on HBO Max. I haven't watched it.

I’ve watched both seasons.  They hit the second season renewal 2 episodes in because it was so good.  Selena came off as engaging and authentic.  One of the first was with a chef named Ludo, well known as a bit of a a$$hole.  He was yelling at her while she tried to get that swirl stir down with a French omelet.  By 3 episodes in every chef she worked with was like, Ludo? Yikes.  Eyeroll.  But she held herself together and finished that omelet with a smile.

  14. More Midsomer Murders, which I now believe to be the British version of Law&Order for casting.  I tuned into S3E3-Judgement Day to watch a young Orlando Bloom in the role he had when he heard he booked Lord of the Rings.  And guess who is the butchers son, Tobias Menzies.  So this is circa 2001.

Has anyone else noticed how beautiful Jamie's white horse is?  That curved neck...Wow.

I’ve watched with an equestrian and she thinks that is one gorgeous horse for a lot of reasons I don’t remember.  I’m like, it’s big and pretty.  You are not alone.

We see Claire and Jamie—in partial dress—make love in the woods, in the night. I was sure they would be interrupted by bandits but was grateful to be spared that replay. But they wake up fully clothed? What's with that? Guess they are more practical in their old age and added clothing before sleeping to keep the cold away! And is it normal to leave a horse in all it's gear over night??

This brings up a burning question that I have.  Jamie and Claire are often seen with a cotton ball dabbing at each other?  It looks like they’re stenciling?  One of my friends said that they are like washing but wouldn’t a cloth and scrubbing work better?

This is all true of course. She thought by escaping the ship right away she could somehow get somewhere, where I don’t know, and get to Jamaica before Jamie so she could warn him, because, yanno, she was going to maybe hire a boat and row out to sea and suddenly find Jamie’s ship, climb aboard somehow, and get them to divert the ship elsewhere, all under the guise of not already being seen by Jamaican authorities. Because, yanno, magical 🤔 thinking...

Ok, I actually do have input.

Claire told the goat lady that she was afraid that they would use her to capture Jaime.  That they would hold her hostage.  This is actually one of the few times since the tropical heat hit that she shows critical thought.  If they do NOT have her Jamie will move heaven and earth NOT to be captured.  If they do have her he will march on board like it’s his new home.  So at the very minimum what she can do to keep him safe is not be on that ship under the control of Left Tenant Leonard.
