Bought my husband (a poor sleeper) a Dream Pad pillow for Christmas. He seemed to like it and I felt like he was sleeping better and more continuously. The biggest problem is that it's a bit of a hassle to plug the phone/device into it and make sure that device is charged for every night. We tried the bluetooth adapter, but that has to be charged between uses as well and doesn't last very long (can't play all night anyway). For a while we used an older cell phone and just kept it plugged into both the power and the pillow which worked well until the battery went bad (swelled up and broke the phone, probably from being charged continuously). So he hasn't been using the actual audio functionality lately. I wish he would, though, since I do feel like he tended to sleep better with it. I have had a pair of the Gunnar glasses (glasses for computer use or other "screen" use) for several years now and really like them. I was excited to see a company I already knew on the show! I never use my Scrub Daddy. Just doesn't do it for me, I guess... We still have the original bag of Brazi Bites we bought sitting in the freezer and can't seem to use them up. It's not like they are bad, they just aren't really great, and nobody seems to want more than 1 or 2 of them.

S09.E22: GUNNAR Optiks, Avocaderia, SolSource, Sunniva

The Avocado place made me chuckle because several of their options were toast with avocado (and other stuff) on it, and there's an avocado toast meme going around recently (Millennials would have money if they'd only stop buying stuff like avocado toast). http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/avocado-toast I have had a pair of the Gunnar glasses for several years now and like them - I have really dry eyes and work on a computer all day and these do help, and they seem to be good quality. I was surprised to see a company that I know in the Tank. I would think Robert's people would use them, but most of them are probably young and don't feel the affects of screen use as much yet, or just don't want to bother with something like that, or don't know about it. Anyway, I think they work and do recommend. -
Our Costco has had Brazi Bites for a couple months, in the freezer section. Had to try them. They take a while to heat up, and call for parchment paper underneath, so it's a bit of a pain and committment to make for just a snack. They taste fairly good to me, but seem like the kind of thing that you eat one or two of, and then don't really want more of. Not sure how long it'll take to get through the (costco-sized) bag of them. My husband didn't care for them.

I enjoyed this episode but sad to see Paul leave, although I'm not sure who else I would have chosen. To those Americans who've never heard of or seen cream horns, I've seen them at Costco once in a pack of 4 horns - I think around Christmas. I hadn't seen them before so I had to try them. Tasty and pretty, although to my view not worth the fiddling with to make.

So which owner was it who said something about his business like, "well, it's not like it's Camping World"? Was it the ASL sign guy or maybe the LA Dogworks guy? I had to laugh the other day when watching football and seeing that apparently Camping World is doing well enough to sponsor a bowl game (the Independence Bowl). I don't think we'll ever see one of those other businesses doing that.

Property Brothers - General Discussion
Jennlee replied to David T. Cole's topic in Property Brothers
The thing that annoys me the most is that the house they show them as the one they can't afford is always super huge. It seems disingenuous that they say, "you can't afford this one, but if we get a fixer upper you can have all this for your budget" when they're looking at a 4000 square foot house and they almost always end up in a 1500 square foot house. Yes, they put in the quartz and whatever, and it is pretty, but it's still a much smaller house than the one they showed at the beginning. I enjoy seeing the differences in the markets and things like "semi-detached" homes (which to me it feels like living in a railroad car, with super close neighbors). My husband rants and raves about how people can afford the prices of the houses. Like two young people who can "only" afford $800,000, or whatever. Is it some kind of interest-only thing, or can they really afford a standard mortgage payment on that kind of balance? -
I wanted to vote for Daditude. Not because they are good, but it was ridiculous for the judges to bring them back (should have brought back the Vladimirs) and if they went through it would be funny. Now, they were truly not good, but I don't like the judges being able to X in the voting shows because their Xs don't mean anything (don't eliminate an act from voting) and are just disruptive, and it's them that put them through in the first place. The first mentalist trick was pretty transparent. Inside the envelope was a thing you can write on by pressing with your finger (I don't know what they were called, but we had them as kids back in the 70s - they were white and you pressed on them to write and the words came out grey, and you erased them by peeling up the top layer and putting it back down). He was writing on it through the envelope when he had Nick peel off the sticker - could see his arm moving. For the gumball receipt, the "stock" number printed on it was in a darker font and different alignment than the other printing. I think the receipt was real but then after the judges write their numbers on it the judge numbers get printed onto the receipt. Then somehow inserted into the gumballs, or possibly as someone suggested, by a small printer hidden in the table/gumball bottom (I tend to think in the table so the paper sticks up into the gumball container, otherwise it would risk Nick feeling the printer when he's groping around in there).

Definitely most of these homes look like they'd have a lot more space if they just tidied up some! Funny, I used to always joke with my husband about how normal people that live in the same house don't all try to brush their teeth at once and how ridiculous the bathroom scenes are, because like us most people probably wait for the person to finish brushing their teeth before they do so, and it's not like it's usually a big deal. Then one evening we were in a rush and found we were actually doing the toothbrushing dance. Made me laugh. It annoys me how sometimes something that is a big deal on house #1 being unacceptable, surprise, by house #3 is fine.

S06.E17: Fresh Patch, Balm Chicky, Drain Strain, BedJet
Jennlee replied to yeswedo's topic in Shark Tank
Like others here I have a dual-control mattress pad warmer and love it. It cost $79 and so far it has worked fine for 4+ years. I'd buy another the instant it broke, I love it that much. However... I was somewhat intrigued by the Bed Jet because it can complete its heating/cooling in just a couple minutes. That's my biggest annoyance with the mattress pad warmer. If I don't remember to turn it on 15 or 20 minutes before bed, then it just seems like I'm cold for ages until it warms up! The chilling feature might be nice for summers also. I didn't like how bulky it was and how it looked, but I maybe would try it for $150 or so if the price point can come down. The sink drain thing did not impress me, nor how the Sharks seemed to think it was a great product to license to faucet manufacturers. -
We received our Bottle Breachers last week. Very nice! My husband really likes them. They work well - the design is great and comfortably and easily opens the bottle. The engraving looks sharp. We had hoped to glue a magnet to it to store it on the fridge, but it is quite heavy and being cylindrical it has proven to be difficult to get a strong enough magnet that you can secure on there. So in the drawer it goes for now. Still, very nice!

My husband wanted u-Laces so I got him some for Christmas. He liked them, but it is a bit problematic that there is not a good way to adjust the tension. Even with trying out different designs, the tension seems looser than he prefers. If the packaging came with a few different sizes of lace segments, it might be a good idea so you could have higher tension if desired. He also ordered some engraved bottle breacher openers for Christmas gifts, but we haven't received them yet. I'm guessing that they were inundated with orders after the airing. DH also bought a Billy Blanks Jr workout DVD for his mom. Don't know if she's used it yet. I'd like to try it, though, and that yoga program that I can't recall the name of that was on there. We recently saw Copa de Vino at a grocery store but didn't buy it. And I forgot, we'd been to that olive oil place before it was on Shark Tank - the Oilerie. I still have some of their oils and vinegars. Nice, but we rarely actually use that kind of thing so they mostly sit in the cupboard. I think the one we went to is shut down now and there is a similar place with a different name - Oro di Oliva. I was wondering if maybe it was the same entity renamed but I have no idea.
