I saw Queen + Adam Lambert, what a show. He's not Freddie Mercury (and nobody ever will be), but the thing was that he didn't try to be. He was his glorious self and an incredible entertainer in his own right.

Which song is this? The only Queen video I remember being banned on MTV was I Want to Break Free, because apparently drag, while no issue in the UK, freaked out the TPTB in the US. Mine, too! The first Queen song I heard when I was just a kid, bought Sheer Heart Attack and never looked back. I could still listen to it 50 times per day and not get tired of it.

Well they're my favorite band of all time and I think they should be everybody else's, too! Then again, I'm older than most everybody there except for the three original judges and maybe Melora and Tyra.

No Byrd = No Me You and me both. I used to love Judy (still do, kinda) but her shtick gets annoying, especially when she's wrong and doubles down instead of listening. I would love to hear Byrd's takes on these jokers. I think he would be thoughtful, but still take no shit.

Is there a copyright on the phrase "I'm just kidding."?

I don't know what it says about the episode itself, but my favorite part was that they credited Superstar to Delaney & Bonnie, rather than the Carpenters or Luther Vandross. I love it when they give the originals their due (I also would've accepted Leon Russell).

And now I'm praying for the end of time, to hurry up and arrive... -
Danielle looked really nice on her axe throwing date. Much better than the awkward extensions and goofy barrettes that her friends did to her. I'm sure that she was told to talk about the smell issue because she was so upset "having" to do it. Robert seems like a nice guy, maybe a touch above her league but also down to earth and seeming to be an overall decent human.

I wonder if being kicked out of practice was necessary for him to be suspended without pay, since that's the only reason he showed up anyway. You'd think that he'd want to show off being a good soldier with improved play so somebody, ANYBODY would actually trade him for a draft pick and a ham sandwich (no fixins).

I didn't know if I'd watch tonight or not but it's Grease and, after I saw that Didi Conn was going to be on, I had to do it. She's always a treat! Years ago, her dad was my therapist and he gave me some Grease memorabilia and a little inside poop from the group as well. Fun Fact: Didi was supposed to sing the title song in You Light Up My Life, but Debby Boone was dating somebody involved in the production who wanted her to sing it and Didi didn't make a fuss about it. Which unfortunately gave rise to the rumor that she couldn't sing, (She could and, even after a lifetime of musicals on stage, that story persists). All of his kids are quite successful* in their respective fields and he talked about them a lot. How many other people get to hear a world acclaimed opera singer sing Happy Birthday to his dad on speaker phone because he called during their appointment??? Oh, yeah, the show... I spoiled myself last night because I'm not that invested in who stays or who goes, but I thought wow, Olivia gets all 9s and still winds up in bottom two? That might be the highest score since Christina Milian was a shocking boot way back when. She doesn't bother me as much as she does some (although I have an irrational dislike for women who use their middle names as their last name), but I really would have preferred Mel C to stay. I'm not sorry that BAG is gone, but Sharna would have made a great Cha Cha Di Gregorio (with BAG as Craterface).

I would rather watch all 712 Twilight movies in a row than watch a Lakers-Warriors game. After I finish enjoying the Bucks, I'm done for opening night!

Isn't that the save from the Knockouts? This way each team has a save and a steal so it remains an even number for the HtH Knockouts. And then it's a sing off to see who the one is that makes it to the Lives and that team has one person extra until the first live cut. But, yes, I totally agree with what you're saying when it's a consolation round rather than a straight shot to the Lives.

It hurts my heart whenever I hear the sentence "All By Myself by Celine Dion". It's Eric Carmen, dammit! (With a bit of help from Sergei Rachmaninoff.) On a more positive note, it appears that Mel C has done the impossible and is making Gleb seem less icky.

Melissa Rycroft in All Stars hurt her back and they judged her and Tony on some taped footage. It wasn't even dress, just regular practice clothes. I remember being really surprised that they would do that, but she was one of the favorites and I think it was just a spasm or something so she was okay the next day.

It's been my experience that people who end every sentence with "I'm just kidding" are rarely ever kidding. -
Thanks for the info! I didn't think I was quite right, because whoever got the quickstep and jive vs. the cha cha cha and foxtrot would really get the short end of the stick! I knew that jive was relatively early on. It used to be laid out so elegantly and thoughtfully! Now it seems it's just throwing stuff against the wall and see what sticks with no rhyme or reason. And I still miss the mambo!

I was among those groaning the loudest when she was announced as a coach, but she really surprised me! She seems to have matured quite a bit, she's taking it seriously and giving excellent critiques (and her team member gift is actually something to help them in the competition!). At the same time she is giving as good as she gets with the ribbing and seems to have a sense of humor about herself. The jury is still out and it remains to be seen how she will do with the actual coaching, but so far I'm impressed. And I didn't expect to be. -
He also broke Joe Theismann's leg on MNF. It wasn't a dirty play, but a lot of people blamed him for ending Theismann's career.

I seem to recall that week one was half cha cha cha and half quickstep. Week two the couple that did the quickstep had the jive and the other the foxtrot. So everybody alternated having ballroom and latin. I do remember thinking it was insane to have quickstep and jive right out of the box, since those are arguably two of the more difficult (speaking athletically) dances. But they are two of my favorites, so I was okay with seeing a large number of them. I really miss the days of the show being equitable. Everybody had to do the same dances and it was apples to apples. Now so many people get out of doing a quickstep, jive, rumba, etc. for either physical or age related reasons. Did Adam Rippon ever even DO a ballroom dance? I know that was a shortened (joke) or a season, but still... I thought I had taken this off of my dvr last year (not even Nelly could keep me watching), but it ended up taping so I watched, basically ffing all of the Tyra crap (I would never do that to Tom and Erin). My final verdict? Eh... I'll keep it recording, unless I have a conflict like a basketball game (The Voice stays, DWTS goes). I can see myself equally watching it with judicious use of the ff, or just deleting unwatched.

I took away his point when he said he could chant the Hare Krishna mantra 108 times in 10 minutes. Something tells me that he didn't major in math. Back to square one, Brandon! -

Brandon and Julia aren't that bad. I actually laughed at Brandon calling Bini and Leandro "brother husbands". Point for Brandon! -

I'm willing to give them a chance. Several couples that I didn't like on their season have become some of my favorites. I didn't like Robert and didn't have an opinion one way or the other on Anny and now I love both of them! Libby still does nothing for me, but Andrei is surprisingly insightful at times. -

When I was a kid I thought they were called Hare (pronounced like hair) Krishnas because they were always at O'Hare.
