Eh, she'll just make Chad do even more stuff for her, and still insist on having another baby ASAP. As long as her uterus works, functioning limbs are an optional extra.

I could've sworn that they all had different shoes on in this challenge - lace up sneakers rather than the plimsolls they have been wearing so far. I wonder why? And also watching them fall through a trapdoor was somewhat terrifying! I wonder if they were given any coaching on how to fall?

Seriously, when the notoriously twisty game asks you to pair up for a TOTALLY INNOCENT, laughably-easy-to-earn picnic of strawberries dipped in cuddles and rainbows, maybe don't choose as your buddy your one best friend for life (who you've known for about 5 days)?

The song title is "Shiny Happy People", though, so just different enough to avoid legal wrangling?

Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!
Gweilo replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Yeah Baby Led Weaning is pretty simple really (and people make money writing whole books about it?!??) and the weaning police don't come round to forbid you from ever spoon feeding them traditional baby food. We did both - purees sometimes and then at family mealtimes you just put a bunch of your own food on their plate and watch them as they gum on it/chuck it on the floor. As our doctor said, why should a baby have to eat bland baby cereal (which tastes like arse) when you're chowing down on berries, bananas, pancakes, pasta etc. -

Most, if not all cruise ships have full Morgues onboard - so many older people just cruise endlessly until their time comes. -
No matter how weird I think the Bates are, my view is that any woman who has just given birth gets to eat whatever the hell she likes 😉

Yes, she may have had an early scan at 6 weeks (which can't tell the sex), and then the blood test at 10 weeks (some of baby's DNA is in mum's blood by then) which can tell the sex. Then miscarried sometime after that, hence knowing that she'd lost her daughter. -

Agree - Carlin and Even are out of their depth as parents. And I feel really sad about that. They seem to be friendly, outgoing people who would probably be thriving if they could have been 'normal' young adults. But due to their stupid upbringing (hers more than his, I guess), if they wanted any of the perks of adulthood they had to marry young and were expected to procreate. And now they're stuck in a situation that's not really great for anyone in their family without the resources, support or intelligence to find a better way that allows everyone to thrive. -

I don't get how Homeschooling can be the "easy" choice for lazy parents - you have to be around your children all day! The whining, the questions, the checking that they're not destroying your house while you take 40 seconds to go to the toilet. School is wonderful - you get a break from them for hours EVERY DAY. Signed, The parent of a super intense child who has just started school and is loving every second of my alone time. -
My theory is that Jeremy sells/trades sneakers as a side hustle, and that's where a LOT of his income is coming from. I read an article on the internet that says that this is a thing so of course it's true and I'm right, LOL.

My current idle speculation about the move is that something bad is dropping soon about Gothard/IBLP and the reason for their show's cancellation. And Chad & Erin are making a hasty move in order to distance themselves from the situation. Like, I'm imagining if just before Josh Duggar's arrest a Duggar sibling moved interstate "Ooh I'm putting some distance between me and my abuse-facilitating family!" That kind of vibe. Who knows, but that's my theory du jour.

Yep! As the saying goes; sometimes the cheapest way to pay for things is with money.

Erin's probably found an unscrupulous fertility doctor in Florida.

It's a testament to Gary Oldman's acting that in two scenes where he's breaking bad news to people and showing a glimpse of vulnerability (explaining Sid's death; and explaining that he gave dead bath guy the gun) both times he's actually lying through his teeth! You can't trust a word he says, the wily old fox.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Gweilo replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
I think that *if* Anna ever wants to get a job (unlikely), the only realistic way would be to work in some kind of family business doing back-end stuff. Not that I would condone working for JB, but given her circumstances it could be something like: Help one of the various not-at-all-shady Duggar businesses with basic admin tasks like ordering raw materials, or answering emails, or inventory computer stuff. Probably unpaid. Then, once she's got a little bit of experience, go work for another uber-Christian family-run business, perhaps get a bit of experience in rostering, or payroll. Then perhaps another slightly bigger business being their all-around admin person. She'd probably only want to work for business that are openly super-Christian, but if she's in the back of house/admin arena, the general public aren't really going to find out where she is and start sending harassing letters. I mean, I have no idea who does the accounts or logistics at my local family-run drycleaners so it can be a pretty anonymous job. Anna is dependent on JB, so if he tells her to work for him, she'll have to do it. She should just try and leverage as much out of any situation as she can. -

@hathorlive - I genuinely thought you were responding to the first part of @Heathen's post, and roleplaying being Michelle, and I was like "yep sounds about right"
