  1. I'm not sure if this got much press, but the CDC has approved and recommends an additional Covid booster for people over 65 years old and for those with compromised immune systems. I took my parents to get theirs yesterday. I want one, too! But I'm not eligible. I feel stupid for being annoyed that I'm under 65 and that my immune system is ok. 😕
  2. When Jeremy paid off the EMT, he also told him to leave town and assume a new identity. Nice work, if you can get it! It is strange that Kevin has not been around for any of this, if only to support his good friend Daniel. Did Phyllis anonymously text Summer and ask to meet? Is that why Summer was acting so fidgety? I thought it was hilarious that Sharon wanted to have dinner in a place that must hold so many happy memories for her!
  3. Aren't these special milestone episodes supposed to celebrate the show as a whole and revolve around more than one character?
  4. I have a new pair of scissors just like those, and I can barely cut through the tape on my Amazon packages with them. Summer has been stuck on stupid since 2013. I can't believe she wanted to re-enact her mother's death! I mean, if Phyllis had actually been killed, I would watch that on a loop. Please don't saddle Chance with Summer's dumb ass. I'm still trying to figure out why Jeremy and Phyllis needed Diane's ring? What was the significance of that?
  5. I don't really follow the behind-the-scenes stuff very closely. I only know what other posters have mentioned here, so my answer might not mean much. Someone has said recently that the CBS studios are being renovated, so that (along with budget cuts) might account for the limited sets. And apparently younger people generally aren't that into soaps anymore, considering all of the other options they have for distractions. If they aren't attracting many new younger viewers, that may explain the emphasis on the "old guard" characters. I agree with you about this writer. He really has no idea how to tell a story. I've been watching so long, the show is more of a habit that I should probably try to kick! Others probably have better answers to your questions. I'm also sending my best wishes to everyone dealing with health issues, annoying colleagues, and/or other nuisances!
  6. Some recent convenient coincidences have been giving me an awful feeling. In her remarks at the service, Lauren mentioned out of the blue how Phyllis was another of Sheila's many victims, just as Sheila's time on B&B has wound down. She's supposed to be in prison (for life, this time) after having confessed to a murder, but we all know how that goes. Lucy's arrival makes me think it's even more likely she'll be in GC soon. I don't understand why these shows can't quit this character or the canned ham that plays her.
  7. Why isn't Billy there, bringing his undertaker vibe? And why are the wait staff wearing yarmulkes? In the real world, those three servers would be asking Phyllis, "Who the fuck are you? We're only supposed to split this tip three ways." A strand of Phyllis' real hair was escaping from under the wig. Will anybody notice? Lauren's second husband Scott was Cricket's half-brother (and almost husband), and Lauren's first husband is Cricket's current husband. And Cricket put aside her grievances against Michael when he donated his kidney to Danny. I know 100% that I'm a club of one over here, but I have a soft spot for Cricket. We're the same age, so we grew up together, and Cricket has always had a capacity for forgiveness. Except for Phyllis...that grudge never died. Hmmm, I wonder why?
  8. Maybe Phyllis accidentally ingested the strychnine, thinking she was putting Skinny 'n' Sweet in her coffee. The boxes look the same, except for the little skull and crossbones in the corner.
  9. Nikki, Summer dossn't need your help planning Phyllis' service because she has my help. I've already ordered several bouquets of rolled up tube socks and I booked Kool and the Gang to perform "Celebration". I also rented a dumpster that we can place the urn on. Phyllis was all about class, and so am I. Remember when Phyllis dressed as a man and got herself arrested so she could go to jail and confront the guy who killed Damon Porter's child? I'm not quite sure how she got past the strip search. I thought she might try that again, but drag shows are verboten in so many places now, seeing as how they are responsible for all of society's ills and such.
  10. Explain it to me like I'm Nick...Phyllis was still alive when she was taken away in the ambulance, so what proof would there be that it was the poison that killed her and not the fiery crash? Even if they manage to link the poison to Diane somehow, what ties Diane to the crash that also killed the ambulance driver?
  11. 1.) I didn't understand the joke. I've seen lots of shirtless roofers. And JM might want to do us all a favor and keep his shirt on from now on. 2.) It took a month of arts and crafts therapy sessions at the local mental institution to make those masks. Nate explained that he didn't arrive with Elena because she hadn't finished her shift at the hospital yet. I freaking loved the dismissive attitude Ashley and Tucker were throwing Victoria's way. That's how everyone should deal with her. Tushley are my new favorite couple.
  12. Now I'm wondering if it was Gloria who redecorated the Abbott's house? And has Jill really been going by Jill Abbott for decades? She was Jill Atkinson for a while, and I thought she was all about being Jill Fenmore now?
  13. When Devon was introduced, he was the street urchin foster kid with trust issues and a chip on his shoulder who spent all his time at the community rec center that Victor had to establish in lieu of jail time for his commercial bribery scheme. Dru and Lily were volunteering to help get the place open and that's how they all met. It took a while for that to play out, so if Mamie left three months after Devon arrived, I doubt their paths ever crossed. It didn't look like they even knew each other at the party, and Devon wasn't included in the get-together plan with Lily and Nate. The masks looked *really* cheap, like they came from Party City or a junior high art class assignment. I was kind of expecting something like those amazing Venetian Carnival masks. It also looked like Nick and Adam were wearing the same suit. I wonder if that was planned? I vaguely remember this, too. Was it GT's Phyllis? And Jack changed everything back when he found out about the affair with Billy? Phyllis recently floated the idea of re-doing the house for a Marchetti Home photo shoot, but she got her crazy ass fired before anything came of it. Wasn't there a stage at Society that was also named for Neil? Ana's father Jett played his comeback show there? The Neil Winters Jazz Club doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, and it sounds pretty stuffy. That was a pretty crass ploy on Victor's part. I hope he gets zero pay-off for it.
  14. I'm so glad this shindig is at the GCAC and not at The Glazed Pączki or the Spam Club. How can I get on a Beverage Committee? I'd just get a few bottles of top shelf stuff and really stock up on Thunderbird and Mad Dog 20/20. At a certain point after rich people start boozing, you could give them rubbing alcohol and they wouldn't know the difference. The red carpet nonsense was cringeworthy, but Tucker is hilarious, and I loved the look on Sally's face when Shadam showed up. I guess Jeremy will be the Dollar Store version of David Kimball at this year's masked ball. What is Abby's surprise for Devon? Mamie? I often get the timelines confused, but wasn't she already gone by the time he arrived on the scene? I thought just about everyone looked nice.
  15. Chrome is pretty terrible. How do you feel about Firefox, SweePea?
  16. No worries, @SweePea59. I haven't gotten any notice or warning or anything about being reported. Has anyone else had problems? Was the site just down for maintenance over the weekend? I didn't come here at all on Friday or Saturday, so I don't know.
  17. Yes, after Zapato died, Victor adopted Segundo. Victor's epilepsy is hanging out with Nikki's MS. I'm not so sure I would say Victor was a better person back then. He was responsible for unleashing Patty on everybody, so you might say he was indirectly responsible for Zapato's death, just like he was for Colleen's death.
  18. But I thought you didn't like zombies? Patty killed poor Zapato, so bringing him back might put the show even further into Passions territory! RIP Zapato 👞🐕😿
  19. Mamie is Lily's and Nate's great-aunt, and she was the Abbott's housekeeper for years before Mrs. Martinez. Mamie pretty much raised Jack, Ashley, and Tracy when Dina left the family. When Jill noticed a romance developing between Mamie and John, she paid Mamie $1 million (I think that's how much it was--it's been a while) to leave town. Mamie went on a cruise or something and never came back. (There were always cinnamon rolls on the Abbott's breakfast table when Mamie was there, and not the ones in a can, which really made me want to be an Abbott!)
  20. It's actually spelled Nostrildumbass. I'll say one thing for B&B...they know how to do a cliffhanger over there. I can't wait until Monday. Y&R, on the other hand? I can barely remember yesterday's episode. Except for the previews, and how Mamie doesn't look like she's aged a bit. I hope she brought some cinnamon rolls!
  21. NewBridge must have negotiated some kind of immunity for Taylor. Otherwise, Sheila will have that information in her back pocket ready to whip out as soon as she learns she's been burned. I can't believe I'm saying this, but now that we have answers, I want this to go on for a little while. Besides her nasty fling with Deacon, Sheila hasn't done a damn thing other than gush to Bill about how he's responsible for her freedom. She hasn't been in Steffi's orbit at all except for the time Steffi went to confront Bill. Bill recently told Sheila he would see to it that Finn and Hayes were a part of her life again. I want to see how he pulls that off. Maybe that's where Li comes in?
  22. That was the perfect opportunity for some product placement...Y&R, brought to you by Clorox Wipes. Victor must have finally been crowned Vampire King. Even Dracula needs to be invited before he can enter someone's home.
  23. Maybe Sheila wouldn't have gotten a very long sentence with the attempted murder charges, and they're trying to put her away forever by getting her to confess to *all* of her crimes, going back to Genoa City. That would explain the FBI. I'm guessing the sword necklace is a wire. Great twist, anyway! If only Deacon was in on this, but I doubt it. Hope admitted Thomas was hot after Paris badgered her for about twenty-five minutes to admit it.
  24. @boes, I'm so sorry about your pup Bodhi. It really is a unique kind of heartache, one that not everyone understands. I hope you're finding some peace. You know we're all here for you.
  25. I don't understand why Victor is getting Victoria involved at all if he wants McCall to be a separate entity from Newman. Can't he just use his personal funds like he did when he bought Newman Media from Ashland? It was Heather Tom's Victoria who posed for the centerfold after she had to annul her marriage to Cole when they thought they were brother and sister and then Cole hooked up with Nikki. The photos weren't supposed to be released, but the publisher broke his promise. Victor had to buy up all the copies of the magazine, then he bought the publishing house and fired the publisher.
