  1. Yeah, this is not how I want to spend the final season. Tayo is a terrible human being and as someone said above, I hate that it's played for laughs at all. Especially after such a big deal was made about every cast member except Bob and Abhisola's portrayers was going to be downgraded, etc. - why bring Tayo back? Why not focus on the people we actually care about/like?

It seems especially petty and weird for him to relocate to Detroit considering Dele is going away to school soon - it really does make it seem solely like he's here to mess with Abishola, and that's a storyline I don't need cluttering up this final batch of episodes. Especially if they are going to undercut nice moments like her aunt and uncle telling Tayo they are Team Bob, and then accepting his lease because he buys them off with a year's prepaid rent.

If Peter does accept, I hope he stabs Parvati in the back….he can explain to Phaedra that it will deflect suspicion, but if he changes to someone else, people might suspect he has been recruited.

My roommate and I were saying the same thing. If we were Peter, we'd accept (everyone thinks he is essentially the leader of a massive group of Faithfuls at this point) and immediately knock out Parvati at the next roundtable. The heat is so high on her there is no way Peter veering off her at this point would not be viewed as suspicious, especially after his "I'm writing Parvati's name here so that people remember once I've been murdered that she is ALSO clearly a Traitor" at the roundtable. It would require some serious tapdancing at this point to save her.

  3. Too much Timely, not enough Loki/Mobius. I was not a fan of the affectations that Majors went with this episode - not sure if that was his choice or not, but it was grating and a very in your face choice for “I’m not the same guy as He Who Remains, clearly!!”

And good lord, Sylvie and Renslayer keep making stupid decisions.

No way would I still be going “my mission is from He Who Remains” when Miss Minutes is clearly off the rails and had him DROP YOU OFF A BOAT. Renslayer has a blind spot the size of a Buick.

And Sylvie dropping her at the End of Time…why?? Forgetting Miss Minutes for a moment (since hey, every other character seemed to in the final confrontation of the episode), I would never drop her there in case He Who Remains had anything in that place that could possibly aid her or help her return to the TVA. Strip her down, make sure she has no way to travel through time, and dump her in a random part of the timeline to live out her life.

  4. I was born in the mid-80s, and I know Donny Osmond primarily for “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Disney’s animated Mulan. While I know of Donny & Marie by name, I couldn’t pull any personal details of him if asked, don’t typically watch regularly reality fare like Masked Singer or DWtS, and I wouldn’t know what he looked like as a teen idol. It doesn’t surprise me at all that these guys haven’t heard of him, or that the few clues they have are tripping them up so badly - how many of them would even be familiar with Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat in general, let alone that he was in the role?

The British singer guesses (and the idea of it being Prince), are laughable though.

  5. I had been so looking forward to this show. After its conclusion…I wish they hadn’t even bothered. Absolutely hate that we lost Talos for what, superpowered Gi’ah? They botched this so badly. What a waste of talented actors. The material did not remotely rise to meet them.

What is so ironic as far as Miguel Ferrer goes is, in the pilot of ER (naturally starring his cousin, George Clooney, whom I guess he was very close with!), his character was told he had cancer by Dr. Susan Lewis. If I recall, it didn't look good, but Susan was adamant in that he should not give up.

And yet, that is how he died too young in real life. Just strange.

I recall his mom, Rosemary Clooney, also appearing on ER as a patient who would wander the hospital, singing songs. Guess it was sort of a family affair.

George was supposed to guest on Crossing Jordan at some point as well, but they could never line up the scheduling.

  7. While I enjoyed the season, I missed not having bakers eliminated and getting to keep them around the whole time. Feel like it was better the old way in that respect - especially since some only ended up eliminated/up for elimination because the judges didn’t lock in an answer.

  8. I was able to get the DVD series set for this a year or so ago on Amazon. (I suspect it may be bootleg, because music rights were a huge reason why no seasons were released on DVD past S1 originally, but in any case, all episodes were there and crisp/clear, and I was very grateful to find it.

Loved this show when it was on. Had a massive crush on Miguel Ferrer. Glad to hear it’s also on Roku!

OMG! What restaurant was it? If you are wondering which side of the fence I am on for this issue, it is yours!

It was Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy. (And it was worth every penny…absolutely phenomenal meal)!

Aww, and Len made such a point of his retiring from the show to devote more time in his remaining years to his family. Hopefully, it was wonder, however short the time was.

eta: Just read the article. Man, truly fuck cancer.

When he announced that, I did wonder at the time if more was going on. I’ve seen a lot of celebrity/politician cases over the years where they’ve stepped back “to spend more time with family”, and it comes out not long after that they’ve been diagnosed with/passed away due to illness. I hope that Len was truly able to enjoy some quality time with them before the cancer became too much. Cancer is the worst.

I do wish they'd stop dissing community colleges.  The ones around here at least (including the one I work for) all have transfer agreements with the four-year state universities, and we have to meet their standards.  There is nothing easy about our classes!  They are significantly less expensive, too.

I work for a top level university and I would tell ANYONE who has a kid looking at college to seriously consider the two year community college route and then transfer to a four year to finish a BA/BS. It’s insanely cheaper, you can usually get your general requirements out of the way, and no one looking at jobs (unless you are in a VERY specialized field) will care you went anywhere else - your diploma would still ultimately read the four year university. My father did the community college route and was given free ride offers to almost every Ivy when he left. There is a massive stigma regarding cc’s and it’s incredible to me that folks will drop 250K and put themselves in massive debt to come to a school like ours - while we are good, it’s not like you are getting a education THAT much different than you would otherwise (certainly not at that price point, and I say this as both an admin an an alum). Frankly, I’d put many of my father’s former cc professors ahead of ours in the rigors of their coursework (we still keep in touch).

This whole storyline just makes me angry.
